Rutas internacionales desde aeropuertos secundarios
La aerolínea colombiana Avianca Airlines iniciará vuelos internacionales desde aeropuertos secundarios del país como Bucaramanga, Pereira y Santa Marta, además de ampliar su red en el extranjero desde Cartagena. La principal línea aérea de Colombia está ampliando la conectividad punto a punto desde los aeropuertos regionales en Colombia con el lanzamiento de seis rutas internacionales sin escalas, así como la adición de dos servicios domésticos. Las incorporaciones a la red harán que el miembro de Star Alliance ofrezca nuevas opciones de vuelos desde Bucaramanga/BGA, Cartagena/CTG, Pereira/PEI y Santa Marta/SMR a destinos en Brasil, Chile y los Estados Unidos. Cuatro de las seis rutas internacionales comenzarán en diciembre, y las dos restantes comenzarán el mes siguiente. Los seis utilizarán aviones de la familia Airbus A320.
El último crecimiento se produce cuando la aerolínea busca impulsar su fusión planificada con la brasileña GOL Linhas Aéreas y la low cost colombiana Viva Air y SKY Airline para formar el holding Abra Group, creando una de las redes de aerolíneas más grandes de América Latina. Abra tendrá una participación del 10% en la aerolínea chilena SKY Airline.
Rutas internacionales
Desde Pereira, la capital del departamento colombiano de Risaralda, ubicada en las estribaciones de los Andes, se están abriendo dos rutas al extranjero a Miami/MIA y Nueva York John F. Kennedy/JFK. Ambos servicios comenzarán el 8 de Diciembre de 2022, operando cuatro vuelos semanales (4Frq/S) a Miami y dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S) a Nueva York. Bucaramanga en el Departamento de Santander recibirá una nueva ruta a Miami a partir del 08/12, operando tres veces por semana (3Frq/S). Santa Marta, una ciudad en el Mar Caribe en el departamento norteño de Magdalena, también se conectará dos veces por semana (2Frq/S) a Miami a partir del 10/12.
Las dos nuevas rutas internacionales restantes comenzarán en Enero de 2023, uniendo Cartagena con São Paulo Guarulhos/GRU a partir del 10 de Enero de 2023 y Santiago de Chile/SCL el día 11/01. Los vuelos a São Paulo operarán tres veces por semana (3Frq/S), mientras que Santiago será de cuatro frecuencias semanales (4Frq/S).

International routes from secondary airports
The Colombian airline Avianca Airlines will start international flights from secondary airports in the country such as Bucaramanga, Pereira and Santa Marta, in addition to expanding its network abroad from Cartagena. Colombia’s leading airline is expanding point-to-point connectivity from regional airports in Colombia with the launch of six nonstop international routes, as well as the addition of two domestic services. The additions to the network will see the Star Alliance member offer new flight options from Bucaramanga/BGA, Cartagena/CTG, Pereira/PEI and Santa Marta/SMR to destinations in Brazil, Chile and the United States. Four of the six international routes will start in December, with the remaining two starting the following month. All six will use aircraft from the Airbus A320 family.
The latest growth comes as the airline looks to jumpstart its planned merger with Brazil’s GOL Linhas Aéreas and Colombian low-cost carriers Viva Air and SKY Airline to form the Abra Group holding company, creating one of the largest airline networks in Latin America. Abra will have a 10% stake in Chilean airline SKY Airline.
International routes
From Pereira, the capital of the Colombian department of Risaralda, located in the foothills of the Andes, two routes abroad to Miami/MIA and New York John F. Kennedy/JFK are being opened. Both services will begin on December 8, 2022, operating four weekly flights (4Feq/S) to Miami and two weekly frequencies (2Frq/S) to New York. Bucaramanga in the Department of Santander will receive a new route to Miami as of 12/08, operating three times a week (3Frq/S). Santa Marta, a city on the Caribbean Sea in the northern department of Magdalena, will also connect twice a week (2Frq/S to Miami starting 10/12.
The remaining two new international routes will begin in January 2023, linking Cartagena with São Paulo Guarulhos/GRU from January 10, 2023 and Santiago de Chile/SCL on 01/11. Flights to São Paulo will operate three times a week (3Frq/S), while Santiago will operate four weekly (4Frq/S).

Jazeera Airways, la aerolínea de bajo coste de Kuwait, ha anunciado su primera ruta a la República Popular China con el lanzamiento de la ruta Kuwait—Xian. Los vuelos serán operados por Airbus A320NEO. El vuelo inaugural de Jazeera Airways está programado para comenzar el 19 de Septiembre de 2022, y el vuelo incluirá una parada técnica en Bishkek, Kirguistán, para repostar.
El nuevo destino Xian, es la tercera ciudad más grande del oeste de China con una población de más de 12 millones de personas y la ciudad más popular del noroeste de China. Jazeera Airways, the low-cost airline from Kuwait, has announced its first route to the People’s Republic of China with the launch of the Kuwait-Xian route. The flights will be operated by Airbus A320NEO. Jazeera Airways’ inaugural flight is scheduled to begin on September 19, 2022, and the flight will include a technical stop in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, for refueling.
The new destination Xian, is the third largest city in western China with a population of more than 12 million people and the most popular city in northwest China. The Chinese city is categorized as a second-tier city and was the starting point of the historic Silk Road, while also being home to the world famous Terracotta Army.

Jazeera Airways has achieved net profit for the first half of 2022, amid its expansion efforts to meet northern summer demand that have achieved their targets. The Kuwaiti airline has made it possible to adapt to post-pandemic market changes. Jazeera Airways will see an increase in its fleet of aircraft to support the expansion of its service network with two new Airbus A320NEOs (2), registered as 9K-CBJ and 9K-CBK, scheduled to arrive at the company under lease from CDB Aviation.

SKY Airline Perú recibió la autorización por parte de la Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) de Argentina para volar una nueva ruta entre Lima y Buenos Aires. La compañía aérea del grupo chileno Sky Airline unirá Lima/LIM con Buenos Aires/EZE para implementar el trayecto con cuatro frecuencias semanales (4Frq/S), utilizando aeronaves Airbus A320NEO. En función de la demanda, en el futuro podrían sumarse más vuelos regionales.
Las operaciones aterrizarán/despegarán desde el Aeropuerto Internacional Ezeiza/EZE, según la Resolución Nº941/2022 publicada en el Boletín Oficial, en la que la autoridad aerocomercial argentina autoriza a Sky Airline Perú a prestar servicios regulares internacionales de transporte aéreo de pasajeros, correo y carga aérea.
Sky Airline Perú deberá someter a consideración de la ANAC las tarifas a aplicar, como así también realizar una propuesta de itinerario de rutas. La aprobación de estas operaciones se da en el marco del Acuerdo de Servicios Aéreos que vincula a la Argentina con Perú, rubricado en 2007, que establece el marco bilateral que rige las relaciones aerocomerciales entre ambos países. De esta manera, la Argentina suma conexión no solo con Perú, sino también con Chile. Teniendo en cuenta que el acuerdo bilateral entre la Argentina y el país andino contempla la quinta libertad, la aérea podrá vender desde la capital peruana la ruta completa Lima/LIM—Buenos Aires/EZE—Santiago de Chile/SCL.
Competencia regional
SKY Airline Perú se incorpora a la competencia en el mercado low-cost regional de forma directa en esta ruta con JetSmart Airlines Argentina, que acaba de empezar a operar vuelos non-stop entre Buenos Aires/EZE—Lima/LIM con siete frecuencias semanales (7Frq/S), mientras que busca llevar la frecuencia a un vuelo diario, tras la incorporación del sexto avión Airbus A320-200CEO a su flota en el país.
SKY Airline Chile
En la próxima temporada alta, SKY Airline Chile también tendrá una ruta que conectará de forma directa Santiago/SCL—Bariloche/BRC Bariloche permitiendo enlazar de manera directa uno de los destinos turísticos top de Argentina, sin pasar por Buenos Aires. Esta operación cobra especial relevancia en un contexto en el que el Gobierno de Argentina busca incentivar el turismo receptivo, como mecanismo de ingreso de divisas al país. Con esta ampliación de su oferta, SKY Airline Chile espera movilizar a más de 10.000 visitantes en los tres meses en que operará la ruta estacional. Actualmente, ofrece vuelos desde Santiago de Chile hacia Mendoza/MDZ y Buenos Aires/EZE.
La ruta estará disponible desde el 15 de Diciembre de 2022 hasta el 15 de Marzo de 2023, aunque de acuerdo a la demanda que tenga, se podría extender su funcionamiento en el tiempo, dejando de forma permanente una frecuencia semanal durante la baja temporada, tal como sucedió con el caso de la ruta de Aerolíneas Argentinas que conecta Buenos Aires/EZE con Sao Paulo/GRU. Los pasajes se encuentran disponibles para la compra en el sitio web de la línea aérea. Habrá tres frecuencias semanales (3Frq/S). Los vuelos saldrán desde la capital chilena los Lunes, Jueves y Domingos y volverá desde la ciudad patagónica los Jueves, Sábados y Domingos. Santiago de Chile será el segundo destino internacional con conectividad directa desde el Aeropuerto Bariloche/BRC. Actualmente, recibe siete frecuencias semanales desde Sao Paulo, que se extenderán hasta el Domingo 18/09 por la temporada invernal. A partir de esa fecha, habrá un vuelo por semana. Anteriormente, Bariloche tuvo conexión directa con ciudades chilenas, pero el servicio se cortó y ahora, tras gestiones diversas, SKY Airline retoma la ruta trasandina.
Aeroparque
Las nuevas solicitudes de permisos para realizar vuelos regionales desde el Aeropuerto Jorge Newbery/AEP continúan demorados por falta de slots disponibles. La terminal metropolitana de Buenos Aires no tiene espacio para el amarre de aviones, situación que varias aerolíneas pidieron que se regularice con urgencia. Aunque la remodelación de Aeroparque durante el tiempo de parate de la aviación por la crisis sanitaria mundial permitiría una migración de los vuelos operados en Buenos Aires/EZE de las líneas aéreas argentinas y extranjeras con operaciones regionales, la actual situación de demoras en las obras de mejoramiento de la aeroestación continuaría trayendo beneficios a Aerolíneas Argentinas que acapara más del 80% de las operaciones aéreas de una de las principales vías de conexiones aéreas de Argentina.

SKY Airline will link Lima/LIM—Buenos Aires/EZE
SKY Airline Peru received authorization from the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) of Argentina to fly a new route between Lima and Buenos Aires. The airline of the Chilean group Sky Airline will join Lima/LIM with Buenos Aires/EZE to implement the route with four weekly frequencies (4Frq/S), using Airbus A320NEO aircraft. Depending on demand, more regional flights could be added in the future.
The operations will land/take off from the Ezeiza/EZE International Airport, according to Resolution No. 941/2022 published in the Official Gazette, in which the Argentine aviation authority authorizes Sky Airline Peru to provide regular international air transport services for passengers, mail and air cargo.
Sky Airline Peru must submit the rates to be applied to the ANAC for consideration, as well as make a route itinerary proposal. The approval of these operations is given within the framework of the Air Services Agreement that links Argentina with Peru, signed in 2007, which establishes the bilateral framework that governs commercial air relations between the two countries. In this way, Argentina adds connection not only with Peru, but also with Chile. Taking into account that the bilateral agreement between Argentina and the Andean country contemplates the fifth freedom, the airline will be able to sell the complete route Lima/LIM—Buenos Aires/EZE—Santiago de Chile/SCL from the Peruvian capital.
Regional competition
SKY Airline Peru joins the competition in the regional low cost market directly on this route with JetSmart Airlines Argentina, which has just started operating non-stop flights between Buenos Aires/EZE—Lima/LIM with seven weekly frequencies (7Frq /S), while seeking to bring the frequency to a daily flight, after the incorporation of the sixth Airbus A320-200CEO aircraft to its fleet in the country.
Sky Airline Chile
In the next high season, SKY Airline Chile will also have a route that will directly connect Santiago/SCL—Bariloche/BRC Bariloche, allowing direct connection to one of the top tourist destinations in Argentina, without passing through Buenos Aires. This operation is especially relevant in a context in which the Government of Argentina seeks to encourage receptive tourism, as a mechanism of foreign currency income to the country. With this expansion of its offer, SKY Airline Chile expects to mobilize more than 10,000 visitors in the three months that the seasonal route will operate. Currently, it offers flights from Santiago de Chile to Mendoza/MDZ and Buenos Aires/EZE.
The route will be available from December 15, 2022 to March 15, 2023, although depending on the demand, its operation could be extended over time, permanently leaving a weekly frequency during the low season, as as happened with the case of the Aerolineas Argentinas route that connects Buenos Aires/EZE with Sao Paulo/GRU. Tickets are available for purchase on the airline’s website. There will be three weekly frequencies (3Frq/S). The flights will depart from the Chilean capital on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays and will return from the Patagonian city on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Santiago de Chile will be the second international destination with direct connectivity from the Bariloche/BRC Airport. Currently, it receives seven weekly frequencies from Sao Paulo, which will run until Sunday 09/18 for the winter season. From that date, there will be one flight per week. Previously, Bariloche had a direct connection with Chilean cities, but the service was cut off and now, after various efforts, SKY Airline resumes the trans-Andean route.
Aeroparque
New requests for permits to carry out regional flights from the Jorge Newbery/AEP Airport continue to be delayed due to a lack of available slots. The metropolitan terminal of Buenos Aires does not have space for the mooring of planes, a situation that several airlines requested to be urgently regularized. Arajet estrena destinos en Colombia Expande mercado en Caribe/Sudamérica
La aerolínea dominicana de bajo costo Arajet anunció el Jueves 15/09 el comienzo de operaciones en la República de Colombia con vuelos directos que conectarán a Santo Domingo con las ciudades de Barranquilla y Cali, a las cuales se sumarán próximamente otras rutas adicionales. El primer vuelo comercial de la historia de la compañía, que partió del Aeropuerto Las Américas/SDQ, de la capital dominicana, aterrizó el 15/09 por la mañana en el Aeropuerto Barranquilla/Ernesto Cortissoz/BAQ. Barranquilla es la principal ciudad del Caribe colombiano. El mismo día por la tarde aterrizó en su vuelo inaugural en el Aeropuerto Cali/Alfonso Bonilla Aragón/CLO. Cali, la mayor urbe del suroeste, informó la compañía en un comunicado.

El Presidente de Arajet, Víctor Pacheco Méndez, señaló en el comunicado que con llegada de la aerolínea a Colombia se busca «fortalecer los lazos comerciales, turísticos, culturales, así como impulsar oportunidades de desarrollo económico entre los dos países».
«El turismo internacional en Colombia está pasando por un gran momento y la llegada de nuevas aerolíneas internacionales al país es un indicador de confianza y posicionamiento de nuestros destinos, así como de los atributos asociados con naturaleza, cultura y biodiversidad», manifestó por su parte Gilberto Salcedo, vicepresidente de Turismo de la agencia estatal ProColombia.
Arajet, que cuenta con una flota de cinco aviones Boeing 737-8 MAX (5) de última tecnología, configurados para 185 pasajeros.

La Fuerza Aérea Argentina, a través del Ministro de Defensa, Jorge Taiana, anunció la incorporación de un nuevo avión SAAB 340 a la aerolínea LADE Líneas Aéreas en el marco por las celebraciones por el 82º aniversarios de la aerolínea de fomento dependiente de de la Fuerza Aérea Argentina. “La Argentina es un país de una extensión extraordinaria con regiones muy poco pobladas y dificultades de transporte, y por eso la importancia de sostener una línea de fomento. Gobierno autoriza aerolínea low cost volar Santiago—Bariloche
La Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) de Argentina ha aprobado la solicitud da la aerolínea SKY Airline de Chile para realizar vuelos entre Santiago de Chile y Bariloche. El Jueves 15/09 ha obtenido el visto bueno para realizar las operaciones aerocomerciales en la ruta Santiago de Chile/SCL—Bariloche/BRC. La empresa recibió autorización para realizar servicios regulares internacionales de transporte aéreo de pasajeros, carga y correo. SKY Airline unirá la nueva ruta con tres veces por semana (3Frq/S) con aeronaves Airbus A320NEO.
La Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil ha otorgado a SKY Airline a través de la Resolución Nº496/2022 la aprobación para la explotación de la ruta asignada que ha sido publicada en el Boletín Oficial. A partir del 29 de Octubre de 2022, los vuelos entre los aeropuertos de Guarulhos/GRU y John F. Kennedy/JFK volverán a ser diarios (1Frq/D), mientras que actualmente posee tres frecuencias semanales (3Frq/S), operadas con aviones Airbus A330-300. Casi dos meses después, el 17/12, Delta tendrá una segunda frecuencia diaria entre São Paulo y Atlanta, su mayor hub en Estados Unidos. El vuelo será estacional, además de lo que se realiza actualmente, con despegue a las 07:50 p.m. desde Atlanta y 10:50 p.m. desde São Paulo. La ruta New York/Newark/EWR—Dubái/DXB será lanzada el 25 de Marzo de 2023 con una frecuencia diaria (1Frq/D). El vuelo operará con el siguiente horario: UA164 Newark a Dubai saliendo 10:15 PM llegando 07:40 PM (+1); UA163 Dubai a Newark saliendo 02:15 AM llegando 09:05 AM. United Airlines launches route from Newark to Dubai
United Airlines and Emirates Airline announced on Wednesday 09/14 a new partnership after having broken the commercial link for several years. The New York/Newark/EWR—Dubai/DXB route will be launched on March 25, 2023 with a daily frequency (1Frq/D). The flight will operate with the following schedule: UA164 Newark to Dubai departing 10:15 PM arriving 07:40 PM (+1); UA163 Dubai to Newark departing 02:15 AM arriving 09:05 AM. The 6,852-mile flight is blocked at 13:25 eastbound and 14:50 westbound. The flight will be operated using a Boeing 777-200ER, with 276 seats. This includes 50 business class seats (Polaris), 24 premium economy seats (Premium Plus), 46 economy seats with extra legroom (Economy Plus) and 156 regular economy seats.
This route marks the first time that United Airlines will fly to Dubai since early 2016. Until that time, the airline operated a route between Washington and Dubai. That was around the time that the Big Three US carriers got into a dispute with the Big Three Gulf Airlines.
