Un Boeing 777 de Aeroflot afectado por turbulencia del aire cerca de Bangkok

Un total de 25 personas fueron hospitalizadas el lunes cuando un avión de pasajeros golpeó una turbulencia severa mientras se preparaba para aterrizar en Bangkok.

La aerolínea rusa Aeroflot confirmó en una declaración que 14 de los 313 pasajeros a bordo del Boeing 777 seguían recibiendo tratamiento médico, mientras que otros 11 habían sido dados de alta del hospital.

Agregó que el vuelo SU270, que había salido de Moscú, estaba a unos 40 minutos de la capital tailandesa cuando golpeó «turbulencia aire claro» (TAC), que no puede ser recogida por el radar meteorológico. Como resultado, los pasajeros no fueron advertidos por adelantado.

La aerolínea dijo que era un equipo experimentado al timón y que el piloto jefe del vuelo tenía más de 23.000 horas de vuelo, mientras que su copiloto tenía más de 10.000 horas en el cielo. Aeroflot dijo que pagaría los costos médicos de todas las personas heridas.

A total of 25 people were hospitalized on Monday when a jetliner hit severe turbulence as it was preparing to land in Bangkok.

Russian airline Aeroflot confirmed in a statement that 14 of the 313 passengers aboard the Boeing 777 were still receiving medical treatment, while 11 others had been discharged from hospital.

It added Flight SU270 — which had departed from Moscow — was about 40 minutes away from the Thai capital when it hit «clear air turbulence,» which is unable to be picked up by the weather radar. As a result, passengers were not warned in advance.

The airline said it was an experienced crew at the helm and the chief pilot on the flight boasted more than 23,000 flight hours, while his co-pilot had more than 10,000 hours in the skies. Aeroflot said it would pay for the medical costs of all of the people injured.  A \ W
