El Aeropuerto Internacional Rosario estará cerrado por espacio de tres días debido a refacciones en preparación al desembarco de nuevos operadores aéreos

En abril, el crecimiento interanual del Aeropuerto Internacional “Islas Malvinas” trepó al 81%, con más de 56.000 pasajeros, mientras en el mismo mes del año pasado fueron 31.000. La incorporación de dos nuevas líneas aéreas, Lan Perú y la panameña Copa Airlines, que iniciaron operaciones en julio de 2016, multiplicó el tráfico aéreo desde Fisherton.

Ahora, y a la espera de la puesta en marcha de obras de ampliación del Aeropuerto, una nueva oleada de compañías aéreas hace fila para aterrizar en la aeroestación local. A mediados de año, Latam Airlines sumará a su oferta de vuelos en Fisherton, cuatro frecuencias semanales a Santiago de Chile; mientras que Aerolíneas Argentinas hará lo propio con una conexión directa semanal a Ushuaia. Como ambas aerolíneas ya tienen oficinas y ventanilla en la terminal, no hará falta disponer de nuevos espacios. Sin embargo, en el Aeropuerto ya trabajan para hacerle lugar a las nuevas compañías aéreas que piden pista en la aeroestación.

Tal es el caso de la empresa aérea chilena Sky Airlines, que obtuvo el ok de la Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (Anac) para operar un vuelo diario entre Rosario y Santiago. Si bien restan finiquitar procesos administrativos para concretar el arribo de la aerolínea, se están realizando reajustes de los espacios existentes para incorporar a Sky al predio, ya que hoy el Aeropuerto trabaja «con una capacidad muy ajustada».

Pero Sky Airlines no sería la única aerolínea con intenciones de empezar a despegar desde Fisherton este año. La boliviana Amaszonas elevó un pedido ante la ANAC para operar la ruta Rosario-Montevideo y Rosario-Punta del Este en temporada de verano; la sucesora de Sol Líneas Aéreas, Flyest, espera reactivar las rutas de la desaparecida compañía de Transatlántica y Avianca tiene en carpeta conectar Rosario con Buenos Aires (a través de Avian) y Fisherton con Tucumán.

Si bien la política de la nueva conducción del Aeropuerto local, encabezada por Matías Galíndez, apunta a profundizar el creciendo del tráfico aéreo, la infraestructura actual obliga a analizar con detenimiento los pasos a seguir. En el corto plazo, priorizarán las operaciones existentes de Aerolíneas Argentinas, Gol Líneas Aéreas, Latam y Copa; mientras que las nuevas compañías interesadas se irán sumando a medida que avancen las tareas de ampliación de la infraestructura. Si bien actualmente se están llevando a cabo importantes trabajos -incluso está previsto el cierre del Aeropuerto del 30 de mayo al 1 de junio por intervenciones sobre la pista y calles de rodaje-, el segundo semestre del año será clave para completar la rehabilitación de los espacios de plataforma y así habilitar mayor tránsito de aeronaves.
