El fabricante Boeing construye la primera fábrica de Boeing 737 fuera de EE UU

La construcción de las primeras instalaciones de Boeing fuera de Estados Unidos como parte de su cadena de fabricación de Boeing 737 comenzó el miércoles en la ciudad oriental portuaria de Zhoushan.

　 La construcción constará de dos partes: un centro de acabado de Boeing 737 y un centro de entrega. El fin de los trabajos está previsto para 2018

　 Boeing y el fabricante de aviones chino Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC, según sus siglas en inglés) gestionarán conjuntamente el centro de acabado, donde se instalarán en los 737 los asientos y los sistemas de entretenimiento durante el vuelo.

    «Nos encontramos hoy ante una asociación dinámica y mutuamente beneficiosa que apoya el crecimiento y desarrollo de la industria de la aviación y la economía de China, así como la de Estados Unidos», manifestó Ray Conner, presidente y gerente general de Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

　 El centro de acabado también ofrece servicios tales como el revestimiento, reparación y mantenimiento de aparatos Boeing. El centro de entrega 737 será propiedad exclusiva de Boeing.

　 Boeing y COMAC firmaron un acuerdo en octubre de 2016 para levantar la planta en Zhoushan, en la provincia oriental china de Zhejiang, a 287 kilómetros al sureste de Shanghai. La factoría está diseñada para despachar 100 aviones Boeing 737 por año.

　 Conner dijo que Boeing entrega cada año a clientes chinos de 150 a 200 de los «aviones más innovadores y de consumo más eficiente del mundo«, lo que representa un cuarto del total de la compañía. Un tercio son 737.

　 «Los centros de acabado y entrega acercarán al 737 MAX a los clientes chinos, que recibirán el pedido aquí mismo, en China», afirmó.

　 El ejecutivo agregó que ias compañías chinas participan en la fabricación de «todos los aviones Boeing producidos hoy y en más de 9.000 de los que vuelan por todo el mundo».

　 La planta, de 40 hectáreas, incluirá hangares, edificios de oficinas, almacenes, plataformas y pistas.

　 El subdirector de la Comisión Nacional de Desarrollo y Reforma, Lin Nianxiu, asistió a la ceremonia de comienzo de las obras y calificó a la planta de Zhoushan de «modelo para la cooperación chino-estadounidense en alta tecnología».

　 Zhoushan es un archipiélago y ciudad insular de la provincia de Zhejiang, que cuenta con la mayor industria pesquera de China y en donde también tienen importancia la construcción naval, el turismo y los servicios.

　 Para adaptarse a la fabricación de aeronaves, el aeropuerto Putuoshan de la ciudad está ejecutando unas obras de expansión con una inversión de 750 millones de yuanes (108 millones de dólares) que lo convertirán en una instalación internacional.

　 Además de apoyar a Boeing, el parque de aviación también desarrollará una cadena industrial completa para la fabricación de aviones que en 2025 tendrá la capacidad de ensamblar, entregar y modificar unas 600 unidades al año.

　 Conner también felicitó a COMAC por el exitoso primer vuelo de su modelo C919, que describió como «momento importante en la historia de la aviación». Boeing y COMAC empezaron a asociarse en proyectos en 2012.

Construction of Boeing‘s first non-US facilities as part of its Boeing 737 manufacturing line began Wednesday in the eastern port city of Zhoushan.

The construction will consist of two parts: a Boeing 737 finishing center and a delivery center. Completion of work is planned for 2018

Boeing and Chinese aircraft manufacturer Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) will jointly manage the finishing center, where 737 seats and entertainment systems will be installed during the flight.

«We are today faced with a dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership that supports the growth and development of China’s aviation industry and economy, as well as that of the United States,» said Ray Conner, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

The finishing center also offers services such as coating, repair and maintenance of Boeing appliances. The 737 delivery center will be the exclusive property of Boeing.

Boeing and COMAC signed an agreement in October 2016 to lift the plant in Zhoushan, eastern China’s Zhejiang province, 287 kilometers southeast of Shanghai. The factory is designed to dispatch 100 Boeing 737s per year.

Conner said Boeing delivers every year to Chinese customers from 150 to 200 of the world’s most innovative and fuel-efficient aircraft, accounting for a quarter of the company’s total. A third is 737.

«The finishing and delivery centers will bring the 737 MAX to Chinese customers, who will receive the order right here in China,» he said.

The executive added that the Chinese companies are involved in the manufacture of «all Boeing aircraft produced today and in more than 9,000 of those flying around the world.»

The 40-hectare plant will include hangars, office buildings, warehouses, platforms and runways.

The deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, Lin Nianxiu, attended the ceremony commencing the works and called the Zhoushan plant «a model for Sino-US high-tech cooperation.»

Zhoushan is an archipelago and insular city of Zhejiang province, which has the largest fishing industry in China and where shipbuilding, tourism and services are also important.

To adapt to the manufacture of aircraft, the city’s Putuoshan airport is carrying out expansion projects with an investment of 750 million yuan (108 million US dollars) that will make it an international facility.

In addition to supporting Boeing, the aviation fleet will also develop a complete industrial chain for the manufacture of aircraft that in 2025 will have the capacity to assemble, deliver and modify about 600 units a year.

Conner also congratulated COMAC on the successful first flight of its model C919, which he described as «an important moment in the history of aviation.» Boeing and COMAC began joining projects in 2012. A \ W
