Flybondi, el proyecto para establecer la primera aerolínea low cost argentina, cerró el contrato de leasing por su primer Boeing 737-800, y se encuentra en conversaciones para garantizar una flota de hasta 10 aeronaves de ese modelo para el período 2017-2018.

Flybondi todavía espera que el Ministerio de Transporte de la Nación le otorgue las rutas solicitadas en la audiencia pública del pasado 27 de diciembre. De las 99 pedidas, 78 habían obtenido dictamen favorable de la Junta Asesora del Transporte Aéreo en febrero, pero el gobierno nacional dictaminó el 6 de marzo que las mismas no serían otorgadas hasta que la compañía presente los contratos de leasing de las aeronaves que planea incorporar. Hasta entonces Flybondi todavía no había confirmado con qué tipo de aeronaves volaría.

Algunos días después, el 14 de marzo, la compañía informó que se había decidido por aeronaves Boeing 737-800 con capacidad para 189 pasajeros, para lo cual estaba cerrando un contrato de soporte técnico con Boeing.

En una reunión con la prensa el pasado 30 de marzo en sus oficinas de Puerto Madero, desde la compañía aseguraron que en 30 o 60 días más habría novedades al respecto, por lo que esta noticia llega dentro de los plazos informados.

Durante todo este tiempo Flybondi ha avanzado en el proceso de incorporación de personal gerencial y administrativo, mientras que ya ha comenzado la búsqueda y selección de tripulaciones. Cuando empiece a volar la compañía debería tener alrededor de 300 empleados.

Boeing y Primera Air han anunciado un pedido de ocho aviones Boeing 737-9 MAX, valorados en más de 950 millones de dólares a precios de catálogo. El acuerdo también incluye los derechos de compra de cuatro 737-9 MAX adicionales adicionales y un contrato de arrendamiento de ocho aviones más de Air Lease Corporation.

El 737-9 MAX será la columna vertebral del futuro de la aerolínea de bajo coste, ya que busca iniciar vuelos entre Europa y Norteamérica. Primera Air planea utilizar los tanques de combustible auxiliar MAX 9 para reducir los costos de viaje y maximizar la gama para acomodar los vuelos que conectan Europa a la costa este de los Estados Unidos.

«El 737-9 MAX permitirá a Primera Air abrir rutas sin paradas y de largo recorrido desde Europa a Estados Unidos con una economía sin igual», dijo Andri Ingolfsson, presidente de Primera Air. «Este avión tiene un costo por asiento menor que el de los actuales aviones de cuerpo ancho que prestan servicio a la transatlántica y las capacidades de este tipo de avión cambiarán la economía de la industria. Primera Air order new Boeing 737-9 MAX

Boeing and Primera Air has announced an order for eight Boeing 737-9 MAX  airplanes, valued at more than $950 million at list prices. The agreement also includes purchase rights for four additional 737-9 MAX’s and a lease agreement for eight more airplanes from Air Lease Corporation.

The 737-9 MAX will form the backbone of the low-cost airline’s future as it seeks to commence flights between Europe and North America. Primera Air plans to use the MAX 9’s auxiliary fuel tanks to lower trip costs and maximise the range to accommodate flights connecting Europe to the east coast of the US.

“The 737-9 MAX will allow Primera Air to open up non-stop, long-haul routes from Europe to the US with unmatched economics,” said Andri Ingolfsson, president, Primera Air. “This aircraft has a lower per-seat cost than the current wide body aircraft servicing the transatlantic and the capabilities of this aircraft type will change the economics of the industry. This will open up fantastic possibilities for growth for Primera Air in the future.”

Primera Air is an all-Boeing carrier currently operating a fleet of nine Next-Generation 737-700s and 737-800s with flights to more than 70 airports in Europe.
