El primer avión A350-900 de Delta Air Lines despegó de Toulouse, Francia para ser recibido por la primer compañía estadounidense en incorporarlo

Delta Air Lines informó que espera que el avión de fuselaje ancho y peso ligero comiencesusoperaciones en el mes de octubre 2017. La línea de aviones Airbus A350-900 realizarán vuelos transoceánicos destacándose como el avión insignia de la compañía para estas rutas.

Incorporarán con una clase de cabina nueva denominada Delta One Suite, primera cabina de clase ejecutiva en el mundo en contar con una puerta corrediza, así como con Delta Premium Select, una nueva experiencia premium en la cabina principal. La configuración del Airbus A350-900 será de 32 asientos en la cabina Delta One, 48 en Delta Premium Select y 226 en clase Económica. Los clientes de todas las cabinas tendrán acceso a Internet Wi-Fi de alta velocidad con tecnología 2ku de próxima generación que proporciona cobertura homogénea sin interrupciones.

Delta Air Lines planea sustituir a las aeronaves de fuselaje ancho con más antigüedad de su flota internacional por los A350 por el bajo consumo de combustible que proporciona. El pedido de Delta Air Lines por los Airbus A350 serán la adquisición de cinco unidades durante 2017 y cinco en el 2018.
