Los Juegos Olímpicos de Río de Janeiro no dejan de sorprendernos, para bien y para mal. La última noticia es que el Aeropuerto Santos Dumont, situado en el centro de la ciudad carioca, cerrará sus puertas entre las 12:40 y las 17:10 hasta el día 18 de agosto.

De este modo, el tráfico aéreo se verá desviado al Aeropuerto Internacional de Galeao, al norte de la ciudad, situación que afectará a unos 60 vuelos diarios.

El motivo, evitar que las aeronaves afecten a las aguas de la bahía de Guanabara y así a las competiciones olímpicas de vela en Rio 2016.

Estoy más entusiasmado que nunca respecto de nuestras posibilidades y de nuestro futuro», sostuvo.

También participaron del acto el titular de Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, Eduardo Eurnekian, el presidente de esa empresa, Rafael Bielsa, la presidenta de Aerolíneas Argentinas, Isela Constantini. Juan Pablo Brey, secretario general de la Asociación Argentina de Aeronavegantes (AAA), y Alejandro Botana referente sindical de la Unión de Aviadores de Líneas Aéreas (UALA).

Las mejoras comprenden puertas de embarque, puestos nuevos para migraciones, una sala VIP y una nueva torre de control. Macri dijo que las obras apuntan a mejorar la conexión de toda la Argentina y que cada provincia pueda tener vuelos internacionales para «potenciar su crecimiento».

«Córdoba va a ser un nudo para todo el país», resaltó, al tiempo que destacó que «son un éxito» las conexiones del norte con el sur del país a través de los vuelos por Córdoba –sin escala en Buenos Aires. También confirmó que desde setiembre habrá un vuelo Córdoba y Río Cuarto.

Habrá vuelos directos de Córdoba a Puerto Seguro

Desde el 8 de septiembre se abre una ruta para llegar de manera directa a ese destino turístico. Hasta ahora, había que salir desde Buenos Aires o hacer dos escalas.

Desde el 8 de septiembre entra en vigencia una nueva ruta de Aerolíneas Argentinas desde Córdoba a Porto Seguro.

Hasta ahora, hacer esa ruta era posible de forma directa desde Buenos Aires o bien en vuelos de Gol con escala previa en Porto Alegre y San Pablo (casi 12 horas de viaje).

El horario previsto es: Córdoba: 23.10 – Porto Seguro: 03:17 y de regreso, Porto Seguro: 04:10 – Córdoba: 09:00.

La aeronave será el Boeing 737800, con capacidad prevista para 167 pasajeros Economy y 8 Club Economy.

Además de la belleza de Porto Seguro y la cercana Arraial D’Ajuda, también se destacan las playas de Trancoso, conocido por ser un destino elegido por turistas europeos y frecuentado por estrellas de Hollywood. Incluso el cocinero argentino Francis Mallmann suele pasar temporadas de verano cocinando en prestigiosos restaurantes.

Cuatro líneas aéreas internacionales pretender convertir a Córdoba en un centro de tráfico importante. Otro que apuesta fuerte a la provincia es el propio presidente de la Nación, Mauricio Macri, quien inaugurará este martes una importante ampliación del aeropuerto Ambrosio Taravella, de la ciudad de Córdoba.

El presidente asistirá al acto, junto con el gobernador Juan Schiaretti y el intendente Ramón Mestre. También estará Eduardo Eurnekian, presidente de Corporación América, principal accionista de AA2000.

Cabe mencionar que la obra que se inaugura demoró cinco años en concretarse y estuvo marcada por la pelea entre el gobierno provincial y la gestión kirchnerista a nivel nacional.

Con una inversión que ronda los 700 millones de pesos, el aeropuerto presenta una ampliación y remodelación del edificio existente y en la intervención de áreas exteriores y de apoyo al aeropuerto. En total se demolieron y reconstruyeron 2.500 m2, se remodelaron 5.800 m2 y se construyeron otros 1.900 m2. La demolición ocurrió en el sector central de la antigua aeroestación e incluyó la torre de control. También se construyeron nuevos locales comerciales. La nueva torre de control, de 33 metros de altura, ahora está fuera del edificio central, en el costado norte.

La terminal cuenta con siete puertas de embarque, cuatro de las cuales operarán con una manga para abordar directamente el avión. También se instalaron cuatro cintas de equipaje y 22 nuevos puestos de migraciones, que suplen una gran falencia que tuvo durante años el aeropuerto.

La renovación global incluyó la modernización de la arquitectura y de equipamientos. Las obras fueron pensadas para materializar renovados y mejores espacios para recibir el creciente tráfico turístico de este aeropuerto de gran importancia a nivel nacional. También se refaccionaron las pistas de aterrizaje principal y secundarias: repavimentación, señalamiento diurno y el balizamiento de alta intensidad.

Según el medio cordobés La Voz, esta terminal es la tercera estación aérea del país, valorización que se da en relación con la cantidad de vuelos.

Actualmente operan nueve compañías con cinco destinos internacionales: Santiago de Chile, San Pablo, Río de Janeiro, Lima y Panamá; y 11 rutas de cabotaje.

El medio local también destaca las propuestas que están en danza, todas ellas de aerolíneas extranjeras:

Sky Airline. En julio comenzó a volar la ruta hacia Santiago de Chile con una propuesta de bajo costo.

Air Europa. Anunció una ruta hacia Madrid, con escala en Asunción, a partir de diciembre.

Avianca. Prevé nuevas rutas de cabotaje, con aeronaves pequeñas a turbohélice. Plantea vuelo directo a Bogotá.

Ryanair. Quiere crear un hub para volar dentro del país, a partir de la compra de la flota de la línea Sol.

«Tucumán tendrá el aeropuerto de carga más grande del país, después de Ezeiza». El gobernador de la Provincia de Tucumán resaltó la potencialidad que tiene la provincia para sacar sus productos al exterior.

Juan Manzur, gobernador de Tucumán, dijo que en poco tiempo la provincia tendrá el aeropuerto de carga más grande del interior de la Argentina debido a las obras encaradas en la estación aérea Benjamín Matienzo.

«Esto tiene que ver con la logística y la potencialidad que tienen la provincia y la región para poder sacar sus productos al exterior», indicó el mandatario, quien resaltó que Tucumán exporta arándanos que en 24 o 36 horas están en los mercados más exigentes del mundo, según informó Télam.

Manzur fue el anfitrión del cierre de la Reunión Nacional de Empresarios del Bicentenario, al que asistieron más de 500 empresarios de todo el país que anoche rindieron homenajes a los próceres de 1816 en la Casa Histórica de Tucumán. «Tucumán tiene muchas iniciativas que se llevan adelante», destacó Manzur luego de ese encuentro, y explicó:»hay una mejora sustantiva en las economías regionales y eso lo hemos conversado con el ex presidente de España».

Aumento de pasajeros del Reino Unido en el Aeropuerto de Shannon

El aeropuerto de Shannon ha visto un aumento del 9% en los pasajeros del Reino Unido en la primera mitad de este año. El aeropuerto espera un mayor crecimiento en los próximos meses y dice que está «deseando una temporada positiva de invierno con nuevos servicios a Fuerteventura y Málaga y un retorno sobre el horario de invierno de Shannon a Edimburgo».

The UK Government has rubber stamped the new £344m ($455m) London City Airport expansion aimed at creating 1,600 airport jobs for staff and $1.9bn (£1.5bn) for the UK economy by 2025.

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond, Transport Secretary Chris Grayling and Communities Secretary Sajid Javid all approved the project last week, which includes an extended terminal and – most importantly – more efficient aircraft taxiways and parking to facilitate more flights to Europe – and significantly – beyond.

SIGNIFICANT STEP UP FOR AIRPORT

The government adds that these new plans will increase connections within the UK and Europe, as well as support business opportunities and investment. It says that the extended terminal will also provide the space needed to cope with future passenger increases.

MORE CAPACITY FOR LONDON

Commenting on the big initiative, Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond said: “London City Airport’s ambitious growth plans will boost international connections, strengthening the City of London’s links to destinations across the world, and send a clear signal that Britain is open for business.”

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said: “This is fantastic news for London and Britain as a whole. I am determined to invest in the infrastructure this country needs, to help people get around more easily, boost investment and create opportunities».

“London City Airport is an engine for growth in the City, serving the community in which it operates and providing a vital link to our regional airports and the rest of the country».

“These new plans for London City Airport will deliver jobs and business in the capital and more widely. Companies across the UK will be able to bid for construction and procurement contracts worth £294m ($389m), meaning the benefits will be felt up and down the country.”

CONVENIENCE FACTOR

Communities Secretary Sajid Javid added: “This decision clearly indicates that Britain is open for business. The expansion of both the airport and terminal building will provide a real boost to economic growth and job creation».

“Commuters also stand to benefit from the expansion of the terminal and improved facilities which will make using the airport more pleasant and efficient.”

The UK government added that ‘a generous compensation package’ will be provided by London City Airport to support local residents affected by the increase in air traffic to the centrally London-located facility.

RECORD PASSENGER NUMBERS IN 2015

Last year, London City handled a record-breaking 4.3m passengers and it is in need of expansion. The latest City Airport Development Programme (CADP) includes plans for seven new aircraft stands, a parallel taxiway and passenger terminal extension, enabling 6.5m passengers to use the airport in London’s Royal Docks by 2025.

Airport management adds: “For passengers, this will mean several improvements. Expansion will create world-class terminal facilities, more space, and facilitate a greater frequency of flights.

“It also opens up the possibility of more destination choice, with quieter, more fuel efficient, next generation aircraft unlocking the opportunity to fly greater distances to destinations in The Gulf and Middle East, Turkey, Russia and the east coast of the United States.” A\W

Aeropuerto de Orlando sobrepasa récord de pasajeros

El Aeropuerto Internacional de Orlando registró más de 40 millones de pasajeros durante un periodo de 12 meses que terminó en mayo, llevando a los administradores cerca de la decisión de construir un terminal al sur por un valor de $1.8 mil millones.

Tanto el tráfico nacional como internacional se incrementó en mayo y el tráfico de pasajeros en 2016 es un 10 por ciento por encima que el año pasado.

“Lo que contribuyó a los números de mayo fue un incremento de 168,000 asientos en la capacidad de las aerolíneas y el número de convenciones de gran magnitud”, según un reporte emitido por el aeropuerto.
