Polar Líneas Aéreas inicia operaciones

AW | 2017 10 12 02:07 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Polar Airlines starts ops from San Luis

The regional airline Polar Líneas Aéreas will join since December 2017 Villa de Merlo-Buenos Aires

Polar Líneas Aéreas will begin flying from Conlara International Airport in the Province of San Luis, Argentina. «The flights will favor not only the local commune but also the neighboring Cordovan region of Traslasierra,» said Mayor Rody Flores.

The company Polar Líneas Aéreas will have a daily frequency of passengers and cargo, which will connect the city of Villa de Merlo with the city of Buenos Aires, which will rehabilitate Conlara International Airport, administered by the provincial government.

The secretary of Tourism of this town, Lucia Miranda, confirmed that «the company plans to start its activity in December» so the city prepares for another increase of tourists and «to extend the average stay of visitors with more activities» .

The news was announced last July by the president of the company, Ricardo Barbosa, former president of the company Cata, when he announced that they would initially use Embraer 190 aircraft, but would eventually use the Airbus A320-200, due to its higher load capacity.

Concession of routes to Polar Líneas Aéreas

It is that the entrepreneur has a cargo business in the United States, and the Polar plan would include making freight brokers in Argentina and Miami. In the recent hearings held in the country, Polar Líneas Aéreas requested 44 cabotage routes, eight of which would depart from Merlo, six from Villa Mercedes, three from San Luis, two from Mendoza, five from La Plata, ten from Cordoba and ten from Aeroparque.

In principle, in addition to uniting Merlo with Aeroparque, it would also fly from there to Ezeiza, Cordoba, La Plata, Mendoza, Rosario, San Luis, Villa Mercedes and Ushuaia. The proposal would be completed with two international flights: Merlo-Miami (12 monthly frequencies) and Merlo-Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia (20 monthly frequencies) for cargo transports. In addition, in Conlara they would maintain own and third airplanes. A\W

The flight crew and engineering technicians of Embraer operators, such as Airlink the center anchor and launch customer and others from across the region and beyond will be trained in the new facility. The training of new aviation professionals to address the critical skills shortage experienced in the region’s aviation environment will be a key catalyst to unleash the significant potential of the continent’s underdeveloped aerospace sector. «Our investment in this training center underscores the importance of the African continent to Embraer and our commitment to realize the potential to improve connectivity across the continent,» Bordais said.

At present, Africa’s share of global air traffic is less than 3%. The International Air Transport Association predicts that, by 2034, air traffic in Africa will have grown at an average annual rate of 4.7%, reaching a total of 294 million passengers. Seven of the 10 fastest growing passenger markets over the next 20 years will be on the African continent. «In the future, the opening of this training center will be seen as one of the decisive moments in the development of our continent’s aviation industry.

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Delta will not pay US-imposed levies

Bombardier_logo[1]Delta Air Lines said it will not pay the US-imposed tariffs to Bombardier for the CSeries CS100

Delta Air Lines said Wednesday it will not pay more for Bombardier‘s CS100 aircraft involved in a trade dispute between the United States and Canada, estimating delays in deliveries of the aircraft due to commercial litigation.

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian said: «We will not pay those fees,» which censured the preliminary trade sanctions imposed by the United States on Canadian Bombardier. The airline said there could be a delay in deliveries, but they remained confident that they would take delivery of the units ordered. His remarks came hours before US President Donald Trump met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to discuss the aviation suit.

The US Department of Commerce proposed high charges to Bombardier CSeries aircraft after Boeing denounced that they were sold to Delta at lower cost prices due to government subsidies of $ 3 billion. The final decision is expected for December 19, 2017. Bastian considered Boeing’s arguments «unrealistic and meaningless.» He added that «there are several options» that are being examined if the United States continues with its trade sanctions. Delta Air Lines plans to receive the first of its 75 CSeries CS100 in the spring of 2018. A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT
