Vistara lanza VistaraWomanFlyer

AW | 2017 08 02 11:13 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Indian airline Vistara Airlines launches an exclusive service for women to «protect customers traveling alone»

‘VistaraWomanFlyer‘ tries to avoid the phenomenon of ‘manspreading’, which is the male attitude that invades other people’s space on public transport.

Delhi-based India-based airline Vistara has launched a new service that guarantees women will not receive an intermediate seat as part of a series of measures introduced in March 2017 by the airline to protect customers traveling alone.

The new VistaraWomanFlyer service allows women who fly with the Indian airline to preselect the seat they prefer during booking, after booking through the «manage my reservation» function or during online check-in.

In addition, if the woman who is traveling has not pre-selected a seat in advance, «we will ensure that only a window seat or aisle is assigned at check-in», they point out from the airline.

On the other hand, Vistara staff will be available in the baggage claim area to help with the suitcases of those women who have chosen the VistaraWomanFlyer service and Resultado de imagen para vistara airlines pngaccompany them to the taxi rank if they so wish.

«Women are an important force that makes the economies stronger and societies healthier,» Vistara’s vice president Deepa Chadha said in a statement. Vistara plans to expand beyond India in the near future and intends to provide this service on international flights. The new exclusive service for women of Vistara is focused on protecting women from the phenomenon known as manspreading. A \ W

Disconformidad trabajadores en Ezeiza

47925506

AW | 2017 08 02 00:25 | AIRPORTS

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Disagreement workers in Ezeiza

The Secretary General of ATE ANAC, Hugo Godoy, visited the workers and the offices of the organization at the Ministro Pistarini International Airport in Argentina

The professionals that provide terrestrial services expressed their working conditions in the air terminal and alerted on the lack of investment in the sector that has repercussions on the airlines and indirectly affects the passengers. They also exposed the security problems that exist in the airport and those that could be generated with the plan of the government «The Revolution of the Airplanes».

Marcelo Belleli, Delegate General of Ezeiza and Coordinator of the Province of Buenos Aires, indicated that the state of the infrastructure presented by the ANAC of the sector in Ezeiza is worrying and he gave as an example: «ambulances must travel a great distance and cross two Gates to reach the aircraft in case of emergency». In addition, since the promised investments in the sector are not made, the employees do not have the equipment to provide the service due to the airlines. This results in the lack of punctuality of the airlines and to a detriment to the passengers.

Regarding the plan carried out by the Ministry of Transport, «The Aircraft Revolution,» Belelli said that workers are not against the landing of airlines and can generate more work. However, he maintained that «the state in its control role has to grow in accordance with the project and today, on the contrary, it is a question of reducing to ANAC so that the control that the supervisory body must carry out to the new companies is looser.» A \ W

COMAC segundo prototipo de C919

AW | 2017 08 01 19:30 | INDUSTRY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Comac-second prototype.jpg

COMAC second prototype of C919

COMAC has developed the second C919 prototype of its assembly line in China

The first prototype has only flown once so far. Six flight test models are expected to be used for the in-flight test program.

COMAC plans to reach the EIS in 2020. This gives the company time. But time is also your challenge because the competition will not move so deliberately. The time COMAC needs to complete the C919 allows Airbus to accelerate the A320NEO and Boeing to accelerate the B737 MAX. Airbus and Boeing will not only achieve greater production, but also have time to adjust their aircraft to improve performance. Bombardier will have better economies then to be able to compete with its CSeries model and the Brazilian manufacturer with its Embraer «E2» that will be in service very soon.

COMAC has needed the support of China’s state-owned sector and will mean more by 2020. While the C919 will lag behind competition with Western aircraft, China’s COMAC industry will embark on its own process of upgrading its aircraft. A \ W

Air Astana ordena Embraer E190-E2

AW | 2017 08 01 19:08 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Air Astana orders Embraer E190-E2

AerCap confirms five Embraer E190-E2 aircraft for Air Astana

AerCap Holdings NV has announced the confirmation for the rental of five Embraer E190-E2 for Air Astana of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The long-term E190-E2 will be delivered to Air Astana in the last quarter of 2018.

Philip Scruggs, President and Commercial Director of AerCap, said: «We are very pleased to confirm our lease of five E190-E2 aircraft to Air Astana. E2 aircraft offer greater reach and greater operational efficiency, which will support the growing Air Astana network and open up new market opportunities. AerCap is proud to support our Air Astana and Embraer partners, and we wish them success».

Peter Foster, president and CEO of Air Astana, stated that «the acquisition of E2 is the logical replacement of the E190 which we have been operating successfully since 2011. The E190 has enabled us to open smaller markets in southern Russia, the Caucasus And Central Asia, including smaller domestic routes. As domestic and regional competition grows, the E2 we estimate will offer up to 15% savings on seats, which will allow us to increase capacity and market share on these routes and Maintain our position as the leading airline in the region. We are delighted to have concluded the lease agreements with AerCap, with whom we have been working closely for many years. «

«Since its first E190 in 2011, Air Astana has opened several new markets and significantly added its business to Central Asia, the Caucasus, India, China and Russia, and Air Astana has won the best airline in Central Asia and India in the Skytrax World Airline Awards for the last six consecutive years, Embraer is proud to be a part of this outstanding success story and the strong relationship between our companies and AerCap, which are an important partner in the E2 program», he said. El mercado emergente de China

AW-77522490AW | 2017 08 01 17:07 | AIRLINES  MARKET

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

The emerging market of China

China’s international aviation is booming

Resultado de imagen para china iconThe huge expansion of China’s international air travel is expanding and its impact on the global industry does not go unnoticed.

China with 1.37 million people in the latest estimate, with the world’s highest purchasing power at $ 23.2 billion, growth in its aviation market has been staggering. By 2016 there were 480 million passengers, 11% above the previous year.

This growth needs the infrastructure to support it, which is why in the same period 270 new aircraft, 260 new routes and 4,890 new licensed pilots were introduced. In addition, China has signed or initiated bilateral air transport agreements with 120 countries; That’s only less than two-thirds of the world. China’s international travel is expected to continue its boom as the country’s economic prosperity grows.

Imagen relacionadaThe breadth of Chinese aviation is the size of the country, which means that airplanes must fly long distances before they are still outside Chinese airspace. For example, the distance between its capital Beijing and New Delhi in neighboring India stands at just under 4,000 km with less than 20% of travel outside Chinese airspace.

Although China’s long-haul network has grown significantly, therefore, as a percentage of international capacity, it has remained broadly consistent. In 2012 there were 51.8 million seats available on international flights from China, of which 12.9 million or 24.9% were on routes above 4,000km. Fast forward to 2016 and international growth is as pronounced as you would expect – 58.7% more total seats at 82.2 million.

However, like 2012, 25% of these new routes were more than 4,000 km with 20.5 million seats total. This symmetry is a bit misleading; China’s long-haul share fell to 24.1% in 2015 before its rise in 2016, so the final figures for 2017 will be fascinating to see how long distance transport develops as a proportion of available capacity total.

China’s growth story has left the rest of the world struggling to secure routes to the country. Some of them have been more proactive than others. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport General Manager Kazue Ishiwata recently told Routesonline.com that his Chinese routes have been the fruit of almost two decades of planning, while others are more reactive. What is consistent is that China is a network growth target for most international airports.

International routes
But where does most of the long-range growth come from? Most of China’s long distance capacity continues to target Western Europe, which accounts for 29.1% of total seats in 2016. However, as a proportion that has dropped significantly in the last five years, it had already represented 34 , 8% in 2012.

However, even with a drop of more than five percentage points in market share over the last four years, in real terms Western European capacity has grown by one-third, from 4.5 million to 6 million over the period. North America, which has the second largest long-haul capacity after China, has seen remarkable growth in both categories, with total positions nearly doubling to 5.7 million.

Most significantly, the inter-annual growth from 2015 to 2016 shows a marked difference between the two places. Western Europe’s capacity grew by 7.3% or 407,154 seats, while North America added more than 1 million seats, equivalent to a growth of 22%. Nigel Mayes, ASM’s senior vice president, believes that North America will likely eclipse other markets as China’s aviation expansion continues.

«There is no doubt that the United States has been the big winner in China’s long-term boom,» he said. Although the region does not have the fastest growth of China’s shared capacity in the last five years – East Africa (237.9%) and South Asia (134.7%) hold that honor – in real terms no one can match them.

«Long-range capacity between China and North America has grown by 2.9 million seats in the last five years, which is more than a third of China’s total long-distance seats added. Even combining Western and Eastern Europe, Only 1.9 million additional seats were added in the period. That is impressive in its own right, but clearly some way behind North America. «If current trends continue, we could see that America overtakes Europe as the main destination of Chinese traffic by the end of the decade.»

International growth of Chinese airlines
When considering the carriers the majority of the international growth has been led by the usual ones in the market of China. Between 2015 and 2016, China Eastern added the largest capacity with 1,251,344 additional places, 13.9% more than in the same period of the previous year. The next is China Southern, adding 840,200 or 10.8%, with Air China third, totaling 536,398 or 6.7%.

Spring Airlines had the fourth highest capacity growth year on year, with Hong Kong’s Cathay Dragon occupying the fifth place, adding 450,759 seats after its launch in the country. However, when considering percentage growth, China’s newest airlines are making waves. Lucky Air, which recently told Routes News that it would open 10 new bases in the near future, grew 170.1% year-on-year to 145,636 flights, while Okay Airways grew 91.8% to 164,911.

Nor is it a closed market, with the highest growth in percentage terms from non-Chinese companies. Excluding the dozens of airlines that launched new services to China for the first time, and those offering less than 100,000 seats, Thai Air Asia X recorded growth of 573.1%, NokScoot 540.4% and Ukraine International 143.1% .

The manufacturers in their brands
In its most recent 20-year perspective, manufacturer Airbus predicted Asia-Pacific would be the main driver for growth in aircraft orders, with the number of people flying likely to triple by that time. Over the next 20 years, Asia Pacific is expected to absorb 41% of new deliveries, the maker said. This compares with 20% in Europe and 16% in North America. «The number of the middle class will almost double to almost five billion, as wealth creation makes aviation even more accessible, especially in emerging economies, where spending on air transport services will double,» he said. the manufacturer.

«Air traffic growth is higher in emerging markets such as China, India, the rest of Asia and Latin America and almost twice the annual growth of 3.2% in mature markets such as North America and Western Europe».

«Emerging markets that currently house 6.4 billion of the world’s population of 7.4 billion people will account for almost 50% of world private consumption in 2036.»

And no one is better placed to make this prediction than Airbus, with its teams currently dominating the Chinese international market. The A320 accounted for 19.5% of China’s total capacity, while the A330-300, A321 and A330-200 reached 13%, 11% and 5.5%, respectively.

The Boeing 737-800 is the most used aircraft of the rival manufacturer in the Chinese international market, capturing 12.8% of the total capacity. But among the top 10 aircraft with the highest total seats in 2016, Airbus accounted for 44.2 million, or 67.3% of capacity.

However, China is not content to let foreign manufacturers continue to dominate its growing market. Proof of its ambition was demonstrated in May with the agreement between the China Commercial Aviation Corporation (COMAC) and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) of Russia. After the agreed partnership, the two manufacturers are committed to building a «competitive long-range, wide-body commercial aircraft.»Resultado de imagen para china png

If these plans, which could take a decade to take shape, are preparing for debate, but what is clear is that China is working hard to ensure that this opportunity does not end up covering the pockets of the Western superpowers, perceiving stars that are falling. As always with China, the ambition is to own the market; Chinese airlines flying Chinese planes through a growing series of Chinese airports. A \ W
