Conflicto USO-SAS Ireland

The Unión Sindical Obrera-Sector Aéreo (USO) has announced this Friday 07/02 that it has filed a collective dispute against SAS Scandinavian Airlines and CAE Crewing Services Limited for the illegal transfer of 60 cabin crew of the 100 workers that serve the Scandinavian airline at Malaga Airport, according to the union in a statement. In the brief that has been presented in the Extrajudicial System for the Resolution of Labor Conflicts in Andalusia (SERCLA), USO claims that SAS Ireland, a subsidiary of SAS, “hired CAE to provide the necessary labor for the development of its passenger air transport services for the Malaga base, through the concert between both companies of a service lease. CAE, which is not a temporary work company, has discharged all personnel that provide services for SAS, both pilots and cabin crew, and formally pays them the salary, but no other participation has CAE in the process productive since the power of management, work organization, personnel policy, and material means are SAS, which also has the appearance that the staff belongs to it, both for the work uniform and for all technical means with those that control and organizes them”, it is included in the brief that USO has made public.

Thus, USO notes that the staff is subject to illegal assignment by CAE to SAS, and SAS is required to proceed with the registration of all its personnel at the base of Malaga in the Social Security and integration under conditions of equality with the rest of the workers of the SAS assignee company “adapting the conditions of the workers, for all purposes, as if they had been part of SAS since the beginning of the employment relationship”. Se aproxima liquidación Jet Airways

AW-Indiatimes_788AW | 2020 02 07 15:44 | AIRLINES / GOVERNMENT

AW-Icon AW001

Discussions continue on Jet Airways bidders

The liquidation process of the Indian airline Jet Airways is approaching and the Indian Justice would threaten its liquidation. Time is short since creditors may have to push the company to liquidation if there is no resolution in mid-March 2020 and the airlines have not yet reached any formal agreement. Creditors will likely be forced to extend the deadline of February 17, 2020, for the sale of the airline since shortlisted bidders have not yet formed bidding groups. Time is short since creditors may have to push the company to liquidation.

The bankrupt airline Jet Airways India Ltd., once the largest in the country by market value, faces new warning signs as a deadline to avoid liquidation. In a dazzling fall, the Mumbai-based airline was forced to suspend operations last year after being the victim of a fierce price war initiated by a large number of budget operators, losing payments to banks, personnel, and landlords.

The two shortlisted bidders Synergy Group Corp. and Prudent ARC Ltd. both companies had submitted Expressions of Interest (EoI) in January 2020, but have not yet joined the bidding groups. Synergy is looking for a local partner for its offer, while Prudent seeks to partner with a company with international aviation experience.

In the absence of a court ruling, creditors are required by the nascent bankruptcy law of India to take Jet Airways to liquidation if the bankruptcy process extends beyond 270 days from its admission on June 20, 2019. The period 270 days for Jet Airways that is established will expire around March 16, 2020, which limits the time within which the airline can be sold outside of a settlement process. A third bidder had also submitted an expression of interest, a forerunner of the tender, but the lenders disqualified him because he did not meet the threshold set for potential bidders. Ashish Chhawchharia, the resolution professional appointed by the court that oversees the bankruptcy of the company, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Calls to the office phone number of German Efromovich, founder of Synergy Group, were left unanswered. AW-Icon AW001

AW-Icon AW002

Perspectivas Breeze Airways 4Q2020

«Podemos llevarlos a Europa. Podemos volarlos a Sudamérica, incluso a Hawai.

AW-Breeze_E195Breeze Airways 4Q2020 perspective

David Neeleman and the creation of airline Breeze Airways

Breeze Airways is the name of the new airline of the JetBlue Airways group that has applied for the Air Operator Certificate to the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) on Friday, February 7, 2020. First, the new airline was called Moxy Airways, but Marriott, owner of a hotel brand with the same name, had filed a formal complaint with the brand agencies. Neeleman considered other ideas with a simple approach, where it would be called Breeze Aviation Group. Breeze (Brisa) is a good name and I think it gives people good connotations and good feelings. No one is against a nice cool breeze. Mostly, he said he wants customers to forget the name and think about the experience.

Breeze Airways, will start flying for 4Q2020, where customers will have a different experience with respect to JetBlue Airways created 20 years ago, where two different types of models are sought. The promises will be focused on being one of the best airlines in the United States. The market that it will serve is similar to the Allegiant Air airline, of low-cost modality, although oriented to offer a better service, JetBlue Airways CEO David Neeleman calls his new airline «The best airline in the world», where he will offer the best tariffs «They are separate missions: one is an apple and the other an orange. Those planes will never fly on the same route. They will not be in the same universe», says the executive.

Breeze Airways will initially employ a fleet of Embraer E195-E1 (First Generation) aircraft, which are used aircraft that will fly in the United States. It awakens the attention that a new airline of the United States starts with a fleet of used aircraft such as the Embraer E195, although they have an economical market for their acquisition. The airline maintains that it can make flights only four hours per day and still earn money.

Few airlines have tried such a bet, but CEO David Neeleman is calculating a combination of lower fares, more nonstop options, and better service. Running what are two airlines is a challenge, but if someone can do it, Neeleman is probably the right person.

The two strategies have a common thread because in each case David Neeleman is making a contrary bet against what has become the standard of the American industry. In the last decade, most American airlines have favored larger planes instead of smaller ones, and have told investors that the approach significantly reduces unit costs and increases profits. It is a solid argument based on simple mathematics. When an airline changes a route from a 150-seat Airbus A320 to a 200-seat Airbus A321, it adds 33% more seats than it can sell at competitive prices. Their fuel and personnel costs also increase, but not by a third. Depending on the cost per seat, the larger plane is always better, provided that an airline can occupy most of the additional seats. Some smaller markets with strong economies have prospered thanks to this realignment.

Flexibility target

The goals of David Neeleman is to use 30 E195 in Breeze Airways will have a configuration of 120 seats, and although the cost per seat will be much higher than it would be in a larger aircraft, the total cost of the flight will be reasonable. With Commercial Director Lukas Johnson, a former Allegiant Air Executive, choosing routes, Breeze will go where other airlines cannot. «We only need between 50 and 60 people on board to make sense», Neeleman said. Breeze will have similar flexibility with the A220, an aircraft that is expected to have between 118 and 145 seats, depending on the market. If Breeze takes you to Europe or South America, you can have a competitive advantage over larger carriers, who would generally use an A321 or an even larger wide-body jet. Again, Neeleman can fly its planes from smaller markets than other carriers and make it work.

Breeze could have a more simplified rate structure than the competition, even if it will not be a fee-free experience. «I think the ability to have the lowest rate is what people want. Baggage handling costs money. Providing food costs money. If you want to update your experience, you can do it. I think people will appreciate it. Everything is in the way we present it», said Neeleman. He is planning to develop what he calls the most advanced mobile application in the airline industry. «Anything you can imagine you needed to do, you can do it in our application. You can change or cancel. Or ask for a filet mignon sandwich if you want. You can choose whatever you want», he said.

E195, not popular in the US

The size of the plane is not the only trend that Neeleman is resisting. In both cases, you are investing in a plane rejected by other airlines. The Embraer E190/E195 family is one of the most beloved aircraft in the air market by many airlines, including American Airlines, Azul Linhas Aéreas, Air Canada and JetBlue Airways, which withdraw the planes early, blaming the poor economy of the aircraft.

CEO David Neeleman knows E195 well, since he ordered it after founding Azul, a low-cost Brazilian airline, where he is President. The first-generation E195s are deprogramming from the Azul Linhas Aéreas fleet but will be transferred to the new Breeze Airways subsidiary in the United States. The acquisition under a sublease contract at a low price will meet its objectives. Breeze will offer reasonable legroom and friendly service. The planes will have Wi-Fi, although it may not be free. Customers can stream live TV on their own devices, but the E195 will not have televisions in the seat.

Breeze Airways is plotting a very flexible schedule that won’t even have to fly every plane every day. You can park them when demand plummets and blow them during peak periods, just like Allegiant Air does with used airplanes.

The moment is quite impressive, although it is unknown exactly what the fuel prices will be in the future, they are now quite low. That model works even better when you own a fleet of old planes and fuel prices are low.

Breeze targets A220

The Airbus A220 are in the company’s goal, they are newer and more expensive to acquire, but they have a similar history. Today, the A220 is one of the best selling aircraft in the world, with Air France-KLM, Air Canada, JetBlue Airways and Delta Air Lines placing large orders. But Neeleman got engaged when the Bombardier Inc. CSeries Program was a financial disaster. Bombardier developed the CSeries plane before Airbus made an alliance and changed the name to A200. The Canadian company was struggling to find buyers. As the first player, David Neeleman probably got a deal.

The A220s will probably fly from larger medium-sized cities and be configured differently. While the E195 will be all trainer, Neeleman said he has been playing with different configurations, including one with up to 36 premium reclining seats and one with executive class reclining seats. «We can take them to Europe. We can fly them to South America, even to Hawaii. We can do many different things with that plane», said the JetBlue Airways executive. On routes, A220 Breeze Airways can face fierce competition. Established airlines do not They can do a lot to compete with the E195 network proposed by Breeze.

Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways will both fly the A220, and each has an aggressive management team that might want to stop the future low-cost airline. They could use the same planes to try to thwart Breeze’s growth, even if that means losing money in the short term.

Potential routes

«I don’t want to give competitors an advantage. The airline has a list of 500 potential routes», said David Neeleman. In documents shared with investors in 2018, Neeleman suggested that Breeze Airways would focus on airports near major cities, such as Gary, (Indiana) or Providence, (Rhode Island). At one time, in his own public presentation, New Haven Airport, Connecticut, suggested that it could be a goal.

Perspective

By 2021, Breeze Airways will present the second part of its strategy. By April 2021, it will add the first of 60 Airbus A220, a new single-aisle aircraft capable of flying from coast to coast of the United States, to Europe and South America. Breeze can load them with premium seats and fly them at least 10 to 12 hours per day, mainly in medium markets.

The new David Neeleman airline has begun to taxi the track, predicting good signs for a successful takeoff in a strongly competitive market, inside we will not see Breeze Airways take-off and cross the skies of the United States and possibly as it is predicted to reach South America and crossing the Atlantic. Norwegian Argentina finaliza ops

Norwegian Air Argentina concludes domestic flights with workers’ claims towards a strike

images (1)The low-cost airline Norwegian Air Argentina has completed its aero-commercial operations in the Argentine Republic, according to the company’s official statement. Due to the definitive cancellation of cabotage flights, workers could start a strike in the absence of an agreement. Norwegian who had excited many with his arrival in the country has canceled the operation of its services on domestic flights, retaining only the international route Buenos Aires-London served by Norwegian Air International of Ireland.

The confirmation of the cease of the operations has been made known through a tweet with a user. Customers were also not formally notified of the cancellation of cabotage flights. The measure is taken in the framework of the fight between unions and workers after Norwegian Air Argentina was absorbed by JetSmart Airlines Argentina. The new owners warned that there would be agreed layoffs or voluntary withdrawals for those who disagreed with the new conditions.

The Norwegian Employees Union (UNEN) had denounced that after «two meetings with managers of both companies and, due to the lack of sensitivity and assessment of the effort that both staff and our families are carrying out, this trade union association ( decides) under an assembly mandate to remain alert and mobilized».

Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA, known as Norwegian, is a Norwegian airline and is the third-largest low cost/low fare airline in Europe, and the second-largest airline in Scandinavia. It began operating in Argentina with a low-cost model, differentiating itself from Flybondi Líneas Aéreas and JetSmart Airlines Argentina, with rates not as aggressive on average lower than those of Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral Líneas Aéreas. The Norwegian Shuttle ASA parent company had applied a strong restructuring of the group due to its financial problems, where the Argentine subsidiary was not exempt from economic difficulties at the local level as well as the shortage of aircraft ended up giving up investing in Argentina. California Pacific buscando retornar

AW-70006233AW | 2020 02 05 15:11 | AIRLINES

Image result for California Pacific Airlines logo"California Pacific Airlines busca retornar a los cielos

AW-Icon AW001

The owner of California Pacific Airlines (CPAir), Ted Vallas, presented in January 2020 another proposal to federal officials of the Department of Transportation (DOT) in search of another certificate that allowed him to fly in the scheduled commercial passenger service of Carlsbad, north of San Diego. Ted Vallas submitted an application to DOT a month ago, asking for confidentiality, but DOT published it online, according to the PaxEx Aero publication.

Ted Vallas, who turns 99 in March 2020, lost his federal certification a year ago after he stopped flying flights around California, as well as the 12 weekly flights subsidized by the federal government from Watertown to Pierre to Denver, which he inherited when bought Aerodynamics Inc./SkyValue in early 2018.

Debts incurred

California Pacific Airlines has stopped flying a year ago, dragging a debt to the city of Pierre for US$ 41,950.19, said Brooke Bohnenkamp, Director of Communications for the city on Tuesday 04/02. The invoice of the city of Pierre with CPAir is mainly for fees for using the Pierre Regional Airport. In addition, some paychecks are owed to some ex-employees. Motel owners in Watertown and Pierre reported that CPAir owed them money for hiring pilots and hostesses and other employees.

Mayor Steve Harding and city commissioner Jamie Huizenga said on Tuesday that CPAir has not been thinking much, mainly because the new airline in the city, SkyWest Airlines, in partnership with United Airlines of United Airlines, is doing very well. since the flights began early April 2019. Huizenga announced on Tuesday 04/02 that in January 2020, 1,307 passengers boarded one of the 13 weekly flights that now go nonstop from Pierre to Denver. A year ago, Pierre saw how California Pacific fell from the air. «They just closed. So it tickles us to start the year. This is the best position we’ve been in for decades, from the perspective of an airline with Sky West/United Express», said Jamie Huizenga. AW-Icon AW002

Amas Uruguay inicia ops Embraer E190

AW-7008977AW | 2020 02 03 17:07 | AIRLINES

AW-Icon AW001

AW-70006554Amas Uruguay starts ops Embraer E190

Amas Uruguay begins operations with Embraer E190

Amas Uruguay has started commercial operations with the new Brazilian Embraer E190-E1 aircraft, after two months after the delivery of its first E-jet aircraft. The E190 has a configuration of 112 seats, increasing to more than double the CRJ-200 that has 50 seats. Amas Uruguay currently serves Asunción in Paraguay, Buenos Aires/Aeroparque in Argentina and Santa Cruz de La Sierra in Bolivia with daily frequencies. The Embraer E190 will allow the route to Buenos Aires to have a second daily frequency from Monday to Friday.

The airline currently has a fleet of two Bombardier CRJ-200, one of which is stored, so the company will begin the deprogramming of the CRJs starting March 2, 2020, benefiting from the greater capacity and lower costs units of the E190.

Amas Uruguay

Amas Uruguay is the Uruguayan branch of the Amaszonas Group, of Bolivia. Founded in 2015, it started operating in 2016, it wants to reaffirm itself after a decade where Uruguayan aviation has suffered the closure of airlines such as PLUNA, BQB Airlines, and Alas Uruguay.

As of 2018, it planned to launch a center in Montevideo that connects the southern region of South America, ending the year with four CRJ-200 and a Bombardier Q200 turboprop. However, a recession that affected Argentina, along with a slower than expected macroeconomic recovery in Brazil, forced the airline to stop these ambitious plans.

Perspective

The airline also announced that it plans to add a second Embraer 190 and start flying to Brazil in mid-2020. The Vice President of Legal Affairs of the Amaszonas Group, Sergio León, confirmed that the second Embraer 190 is scheduled to be incorporated by March 2020, and added that the airline’s only CRJ-200 should be replaced and returned to the lessor between the end of March and the beginning of April 2020.

Amas Uruguay, the only Uruguayan airline, described the initial network that would launch its new aircraft and add it to its distribution system. With the Embraer, Amaszonas hopes to reactivate air traffic in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. AW-Icon AW002
