Crítica situación en Air Berlin

AW | 2017 06 18 23:07 | AIRLINES

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

Critical situation in Air Berlin

Air Berlin is going through a difficult economic crisis. The protecto of integrating to Niki and Tuifly had failed

Air Berlin failed in its bid to join Niki and Tiufly to become an integrated holiday airline. The central German government seems to have refused to contribute money, while the state of Berlin says it can study the matter. Flights from Berlin to Vienna, Palma de Mallorca, Zurich and New York were canceled.

Air Berlin CEO Thomas Winkelmann said he has a future plan based on shrinking the airline, but the reality is how he would respond without a drop of liquidity. Etihad, one of the shareholders of the German company contributed 300 million euros that Air Berlin has spent quickly.

Plans to save Air Berlin
The company’s plan was, first of all, to lease part of its fleet to Lufthansa for Eurowings; Secondly, divert part of its fleet to Niki, who would enter into a partnership with Tuifly, the former Hapag Lloyd and, thirdly, operate the long radio with the remaining aircraft. But this past Thursday Tuifly reversed the negotiation and now is left with planes that have no fit in the plan. Another airline that is aware of the situation is Ryanair has protested energetically due to maneuvers for Lufthansa to stay with its rival. Ryanair says that Air Berlin, if it goes wrong, must close and that its services are covered by who can, including Ryanair itself, of course. In any case, his accusation that the number two absorption of Germany by the number one seems to affect competition clearly.

The financial debt of Air Berlin amounts to more than one billion euros, because the results of the last years have been very bad. The guilty address of the evil that the recomposition of its programming in 2016 was much more complicated than originally planned. A \ W

PARIS AIR SHOW LE BOURGET 2017 / DOMINGO, 18 2017

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

PARIS AIR SHOW LE BOURGET 2017 / SUNDAY, 18 2017

New narrowbodies dominate at Paris this year, as Airbus and Boeing face continue weakness in demand for their “Show”ier widebody jets

As civil aircraft manufacturers gather for this year’s Paris Air Show 2017, they are receiving mixed demand signals from the market. In spite of the massive drop in new order activity for both Airbus and Boeing since last year, backlogs are still more than healthy and production levels are expanding. IATA has been reporting better than expected traffic figures for the first few months of 2017, indicating that volumes remain resilient for now. But others warn the good times may soon be over.

Short-term growth is still likely, at least for the next 12 to 18 months, said Adam Pilarski, senior VP for Avitas, at the recent ISTAT Asia conference in Hong Kong. But he and other experts in predicted that the peak of the cycle is nigh. Pilarski believes that “long-term problems are mounting and the bubble is expanding.” “I’m moving away from assuming the bubble will start slowly deflating, to a higher probability of it bursting,” he says Laurent Delvart, head of Asian aviation for Credit Agricole, noted that a downturn will come. “I’m not a believer in [the theory] that this time will be different,” he said.

The industry achieved “extremely good results” last year, said Delvart. And while it is not necessarily the start of a broader slide, numbers have generally been down in the first quarter of this year. Fuel prices have “not gone up dramatically,” but yields have been lower due to extra capacity coming into the market.

For Boeing, the 2017 Paris air show is a key opportunity to showcase the 737 MAX at a critical time for the program. The company is tipped to use the event to officially launch the 737-10, its long-debated counter to the A321neo and the fourth major derivative of the family. It will also highlight progress on the 737-9, which entered flight test in April, as well as mark the start of MAX deliveries which began with the handover of the first 737-8 to Malindo Air on May 16.

A Boeing 737 Max moves on the tarmac in le Bourget near Paris prior to the opening of the International Paris Airshow, on Monday

Having enjoyed a relatively hurdle-free development path for the MAX, the late drama associated with the discovery in early May of a potential forging flaw in some of the aircraft’s CFM Leap-1B engines came as an unwelcome interruption. Although Boeing and CFM were able to re-shuffle engines to resume customer acceptance flights and deliver the first aircraft a mere 24 hrs. later than its lately revised schedule, the aircraft manufacturer is still dealing with the downstream issues. These include an inevitable slow down on pre-delivery 737-8 production and customer flights, as well as flight testing of the 737-9.

The first 737-9, which had just completed initial airworthiness testing when flying was stopped in early May, was about to begin flutter checks and had not resumed flight tests as of May 17. Fortunately Boeing says the 737-9 test program, like that of the 737-8, was ahead of schedule, providing some margin. Boeing remains confident of catching up quickly, however, and expects to begin 737-8 deliveries to Norwegian and Southwest in July and September, respectively.

Progress on sales of the 737-10 will also be a talking point. Approved by the Boeing board late last year for offer to airlines, Boeing has had at least seven solid months in which to accrue sufficient orders for a firm launch at the show. The company revealed more about its 737-10 campaign in March at the ISTAT Americas conference in San Diego.

Airbus, meanwhile, enjoys a comfortable market share vis-à-vis the 737 MAX and is in little hurry to make additional moves. That said, Airbus is studying options a composite wing for narrowbody aircraft, a path the company has so far avoided because it was not convinced of the benefits. The proposed 797 could be the catalyst for change, particularly if the combination of an existing, adapted airframe with that new wing and new engines would allow Airbus to avoid having to invest in an all-new aircraft for the category.

In order to compete with the NMA, Airbus would have to stretch the A321neo further. The aircraft, in its highest density lay-out, can currently accommodate around 240 passengers, but that version would not be capable of flying transatlantic distances. The A321LR, the long-range version of the family, is currently planned for a maximum range of 4,000 nm and Airbus has been looking for ways to extend that range by a few hundred miles. A \ W

Rusia asegura que EE.UU no quiere revelar informe MH17

AW | 2017 06 18 08:52 | AIR INVESTIGATION

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

Russia says US does not want to reveal MH17 report

The implications of the air tragedy of Malaysia Airlines MH17 allow to sustain by Russia that the US It is not good for you to reveal the truth about the MH17 flight

USA Will not disclose what happened with the MH17 flight in Ukraine, because it would probably deny the accusation against the Donbás independentistas, Putin opines.

These accusations by Russia are part of the diplomatic differences between Russia and the United States. That the invasion by the Russians in Crimea and the tragedy of the MH17 have been confirmed. Paradoxically, this latest tragedy echoes what happened almost 30 years ago when by human error Knocked down «by mistake» an Airbus A300, flight 655 of IranAir in the Persian Gulf, striking all its occupants.

The implications of «the Western»

Over the past two years, US filmmaker Oliver Stone has spent 19 hours with Russian President Vladimir Putin to prepare four installments of the various talks he held.

In one part of the conversation the filmmaker expressed the assurance that the US intelligence services. Controlled the situation in Ukraine after the coup in 2014. In this context, he asked Putin whether he believes the US entity has data on the fall of MH17.

«Of course, they (the US) wanted to blame (from what happened) the Donbás militiamen and indirectly to Russia … If this information contradicts this, they will never reveal it,» replied the Russian president .

It should be recalled that Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 777-200 passenger jet, which covered the route between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, crashed on 17 July 2014 in the south-east of Ukraine with 298 people on board, Giving rise to accusations of the western bloc against the independence fighters and the imposition of sanctions against Russia. However, based on radar data, the Kremlin ruled out that the Donbass independentistas were launching a missile to topple the flight.

The deterioration of relations between Russia and the West, unprecedented since the end of the Cold War, has its roots in the crisis in Ukraine, which was aggravated by the subsequent annexation of the Crimean peninsula to Russia.

In another part of the interview Stone taught Putin a cover of the US magazine Foreign Affairs that showed a wounded bear accompanied by the headline: Putin’s Russia: defeated, but still in the game. «Someone wants to think that,» said the Russian president, adding that they are «dreams of them» that «do not correspond to reality.» A \ W

El programa Boeing 797X

AW | 2017 06 18 00:08 | INDUSTRY

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

The Boeing 797X program

The Boeing Co. could unveil in Paris Air Show 2017 the new midrange range aircraft

Boeing expects to announce at the Paris Air Show 2017 of the new member of the family, the «Airplane New Midsize» (NMA) or called the Boeing 797, which would carry between 220-270 passengers to 9,240 kilometers.

Although the Boeing has been studying a new medium-sized aircraft for a long time, has allowed to probe how far the maximum benefits of the family of the new Boeing 737 MAX. It is a segment of average distance market very well worked with the use of the Boeing 757, but at present there is no aircraft that can replace it. It is a niche that is not used satisfactorily by the airlines of the world.

The study of the new Boeing 797X project is so far a study, but Boeing is under some pressure to act. Between the Boeing 737 and Boeing 787 aircraft, there is a strong market vacuum that currently only has a small market share, in terms of performance, the new A321NEO / NEO PLUS.

The Airbus Group could have 2019 versions of the long-distance version A321LR that would cover distances of 4,000 miles, a distance that is inaccessible to Boeing with the benefits of the Boeing 737 MAX.

The Boeing 797X project would be a development that would require an investment of up to U $ D15 billion dollars. The boom in transatlantic flights could provide the tailwind needed by the new Boeing 797X commercial aircraft to justify the huge investment. Boeing has spoken to 57 airlines about the feasibility of the project. There was a growing demand for planes in this category, well above the Boeing 737-9 or 737-10X, said ALC chief Steve Udvar-Hazy at the ISTAT conference in San Diego, USA.

On the other hand, Airbus will continue to rely on a narrow-body A321 and is considering a longer cabin called A322.

The new engines

The real challenge for a new Airbus A321NEO or A322NEO and Boeing 787 is the traction technique.

They need new engines that comply with cost-sensitive applications in low-cost markets. Another challenge is the mandatory nature adopted by ICAO’s specifications for climate protection. So far, it is said that Boeing has spoken with three engine manufacturers. The answer may be in a version of the large GTF powered by Pratt-Whitney and Rolls Royce. In particular, a technical challenge is the connection of aircraft engines, a secret guarded more closely by Boeing. The installation effects are «the keys to the kingdom,» Delaney said.

At the opening of the Paris Air Show 2017, it is expected the green light manufacturer for the Boeing 737-10 MAX. This intermediate step is about Boeing initially from the lower end of the Airbus competition, before the many times more expensive new development. A\W

Aeropuerto Rosario, aumento pasajeros

AW-7005907

AW | 2017 06 17 11:57 | AIRPORTS

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

Increase pax in Rosario Airport, Argentina

The number of passengers at the Fisherton airport tripled in three years. This implies, among other improvements, the strengthening of the floor where the ships are supported

The Rosario International Airport, «Islas Malvinas» adds passengers; In three years, tripled them, from 250 to 780 thousand (projected for 2017). In turn, to grow invests in infrastructure, such as the extension of the landing platform. This implies, among other improvements, the strengthening of the floor where the ships are supported.

There is a plan, in the medium and long term, that from 2019 intends to place Rosario in the levels of traffic that already has the airport of Córdoba at present, between 1.5 and 2 million passengers per year. The investment in works during 2017 will reach the 550 million pesos, that come from provincial funds and of the Autarchic Entity that administers it. Unlike other provinces, the airport of Rosario continues in the hands of the provincial state, was not privatized.

In addition to Aeroparque, Ezeiza and Córdoba, from Rosario you can travel to Salta, Mendoza, Iguazú, Ushuaia (new destination), Bariloche and since August, Calafate is incorporated.

«We have a very ambitious growth plan, there are public, passengers throughout the area, with a plan for improvements and sustained expansion and in different phases, Rosario airport will be completely transformed in a few years,» enthused the owner, Matías Galindez, in an interview with La Capital.

Regarding the national government’s policy that enables low-cost airlines, which are questioned by specialists because they would put at risk the safety of passengers, Galindez stressed that he «welcomes the policy of open skies,» provided they have the authorization of the National Civil Aviation Administration, ANAC. «They work in many countries,» he warned.

Anyway, the possible operation of new lines at the Rosario airport can only be realized if there is agreement with the local authorities of the air station.

As part of a growing stage of air traffic throughout the country, Rosario grew significantly, above average, «although we must recognize that we started very low,» Galindez said.

The development of the city and the province in the tourist activity is related to the growth of air traffic. For that reason, Galindez participated on Wednesday in Buenos Aires of the launch of the winter tourism season for the province of Santa Fe. A \ W

PARIS AIR SHOW LE BOURGET 2017

AW | 2017 06 17 11:13 | AIR SHOW

El circo volador vuelve, Paris Air Show 2017

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

PARIS AIR SHOW LE BOURGET 2017

The flying circus is back, Paris Air Show 2017

Every two years the aerospace world descends on Paris-Le Bourget Airport to display its technological prowess, industrial might and even political savvy. The 52nd Paris Air Show kicks off Sunday.

Heads of state, military brass, politicians and executives will mingle. Meetings will be held underneath the roar of jet noise overhead. More than 350,000 people visited the show in 2015 and 91 countries were represented. The gathering is taking place at a time of global uncertainty. In the Trump era, trade is out and populism is in. A Middle Eastern blockade of Qatar has disrupted airspace. And Brexit looms over the future of the European Union.

Security at the event is expected to be tighter than ever. Throngs of attendees will peruse the expansive display of jetliners, fighter jets, rockets and helicopters, while VIPs will eat canapés and sip espresso in temporary buildings known as ‘chalets’.

Japan’s new jet MRJ takes the stage
The gathering will put a spotlight on a new plane that will take the international stage for the first time: Japan’s Mitsubishi Regional Jet, or MRJ for short. The next generation 92-seat jet offers increased comfort for short regional flying and a 20% boost in efficiency for airlines. It’s the first new Japanese commercial aircraft since 1962. The MRJ marks the ascent of Japan as a full-fledged airplane maker. But the project has been beset by challenges. The MRJ is slated to fly commercially in 2020.

Airbus & Boeing
Airbus and Boeing battle again One of the industry’s biggest rivalries will be front and center: Europe’s Airbus vs. America’s Boeing.Wall Street expects Boeing to announce its first deals for the 737-10 MAX, the newest member of its single-aisle 737 MAX family. United Airlines may be first in line, say analysts and industry executives. Boeing is trying to blunt the success of Airbus rival A321NEO, which is making its own debut at the show.

The new long-range twin-aisle Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing’s 787-10 will also be on display for the first time. Boeing will also reveal the first major details of its hotly anticipated all-new airliner, expected to become the 797. It isn’t expected to be ready until the middle of next decade.

Other Manufacturers
Ascending newcomers from Russia and China will also be on hand to tout progress on new airliners that will challenge Boeing and Airbus. Brazil’s Embraer is bringing its largest commercial airliner yet, the 140-seat E195-E2, to Paris for the first time and Canada’s Bombardier is looking to show off its C Series airliner, which is in a brewing trade spat with Boeing.

While Lockheed is known for its fighter jets, the show also marks the return of the defense company as a commercial manufacturer. Its venerable C-130J military transport is now being sold for commercial cargo hauling. Lockheed is pushing its propeller-driven LM-100J as a rugged transport that can land and take off on remote, unpaved runways that are unsuitable for jets. Across the globe, more people are flying than ever because of lower oil prices and cheap fares. And plane makers and suppliers are in the middle of the most ambitious peacetime industrial ramp up since World War II, bringing jobs, but also new automation to manufacturing.

Flight exhibition
Within the aerial skills, the industry will look like a number of aircraft, such as A321NEO, A350-1000, A380-800, BOEING 737-9 MAX, EMBRAER E195 E2 among many others.

That’s reason for industry optimism. But after a record order binge for new airplanes, Paris dealmaking is expected be more subdued. Still, don’t expect that to stop companies from duking it out for bragging rights to the one that ends the week with the most deals. A \ W
