AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

They will present balances in Aerolíneas Argentinas

The current Argentine government will announce the presentation of the balances of Aerolíneas de 2014/2015

Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral Líneas Aéreas jointly lost $ 14.8 billion pesos during the fiscal years 2014 and 2015, the last two years that were managed by the Kirchner administration. That is the result of the balance sheets that have just made the current authorities of the state-owned company headed by Mario Dell’Acqua.

The current administration of the Aerolíneas group will report on the results of the balances of the years 2014 and 2015 under the executive direction of Mariano Recalde. According to these balances, they show that in 2014 both Aerolineas Argentinas and Austral Líneas Aéreas had an exercise. In 2015, the operating loss was $ 4.9 billion pesos, equivalent to U$D444 million dollars. The numbers reported correspond to figures linked to losses not updated at current date. Other losses are reported for $4.3 billion (U$D 477 million) as a result of updating the inventory received by the company, such as valuation of spare parts, debt for accumulated miles or bad debts, among other items.

«In all, those two years accumulated almost $ 15 billion pesos of losses and, by comparison, today we are at 20% of those levels, with losses below 100 million dollars in 2018. We are only waiting for 2019 to reach equilibrium Operational», said Aerolíneas vice president Siro Astolfi.

«Without the balance of 2014, which the previous administration should have submitted by May of the following year, it became impossible for us to prepare the timetable in 2015, since each balance is based on the previous one,» Abott Reynal said. «The 2014 balance required us a task of reconstruction of data, since the previous administration did not pay attention, precisely, to the administrative aspects. We are going to present those two balances together, those of 2014 and 2015. And we hope by the end of the year to be able to present the one of 2016, so to arrive for the first time in time with the one of this year. «

The Argentine Government has endeavored to clarify the balance reports required by international organizations to comply with the institutional standards that demand greater transparency for the granting of guarantees. In the group, airlines forecast that the deficit for 2018 will be less than US $ 100 million.

Change of market

The Aerolíneas Group has confirmed the evaluation of the sale of the 22 Embraer E190-100AR of the operating fleet of Austral Líneas Aéreas, acquired directly to Embraer. The evaluation arises from a market change due to the considerable increase in the flow of pax in Argentina. For this reason, the executives would evaluate the incorporation of more Boeing 737-800 in the group. «The criterion is that there are times when every seat we offer is sold. So it does not make sense to use that frequency with a 100-seat aircraft, such as the Embraer E190, when we can use a 160-seat airplane with a cost increase that does not exceed 20%», said Abott Reynal.

TAKEOFF EMBRAER E190-100AR OF AUSTRAL LÍNEAS AÉREAS

«We are in a stage of evaluation, because not only is it not easy to sell the 22 Embraer E190-100AR together, but there are airports where you can not land with larger aircraft. The concrete thing is that we have a bottleneck, we can not Get more planes from Aeroparque, but we can increase capacity», said Siro Astolfi. A \ W

CSeries hace apuesta transatlántica

AW | 2017 08 13 17:52 | INDUSTRY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Bombardier CSeries bets on transatlantic

Bombardier_Aerospace-200xBombardier wants to conquer transatlantic flights with CSeries

Bombardier Aerospace expects to make a significant contribution to the CSeries aircraft line for transatlantic flights. The new device has a larger flight range of the Embraer and Airbus aircraft.

The CS-100 can reach the United States non-stop from the east coast of the United States to the west coast of Europe. Bombardier focuses on the routes of the city of London. Swiss inaugurated this Wednesday for the first time with the CS-100 at London City Airport.

«From London City you can fly to North America to many places,» said Rob Dewar, director of the CSeries program. «Many airlines are looking for CSeries for long distances. Some are looking for engagements for transatlantic links.» The plane made a test flight earlier from the city of London to New York-JFK. British Airways conducts the same route with an Airbus A318 in a business class implementation. The flight from London to New York makes a stopover in Shannon, Ireland, for refueling. According to Dewar, the CS-100 would perform better because the device can carry more passengers than the Airbus and not have to refuel. The CSeries is more economical and can bridge directly on scales.

Bombardier’s larger series, the CS-300, offers airlines the ability to reach the US east coast from the United Kingdom. The unit can exceed 3300 nautical miles, which is also the distance from Amsterdam to New York. A \ W

American carga programación 737-8 MAX

AW | 2017 08 11 23:26 | INDUSTRY / AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

US airline American Airlines will begin flight scheduling with the upcoming incorporation of the Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft between Miami Airport and LaGuardia Airport (New York). The start of flight operations is scheduled for November 29, 2017.

The first 737-8 MAX is already built at the Boeing plant in Renton, Washington, finalizing test details and certifications before its first flight, and then delivered to American Airlines based in Fort Worth, Texas. The plane will be the first of four units that American expects to receive this year, from its total order of 100 aircraft. The aircraft may appear as a «submarine» before the date. According to the memo, 737 MAX flights will be loaded on schedule on Saturday, August 12.

A distinguishing feature of the new airplane type is the lack of steering wheel entertainment in the seat. Instead, passengers will be offered free streaming entertainment and the option of paying for Internet access. To complement the entertainment broadcast, American has installed outlets on each seat. The new 737 will be configured with 172 seats, with 16 in first class.

Like the airline’s 737-800, American’s 100 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will pass through the airline’s Tulsa Maintenance Base before entering the revenue service. The new MAX aircraft will complement the airline’s current fleet of 294 Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The first Boeing 737-8 MAX was delivered to Malindo Air in Indonesia in May 2017 and entered service shortly thereafter. A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Airbus invests in Querétaro

Airbus will invest in the importation of automated machines that will allow to duplicate capacity of daily production

The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus increases production by incorporating automated machines, more workers and investment of US $ 100 million dollars in Querétaro, Mexico.

Airbus Querétaro production
Airbus started operations at the Querétaro plant in 2013. In this 12,000-square-meter complex, some 250 people, 62% of Airbus Helicopters’ staff in Mexico, work to assemble luggage compartment doors and emergency doors for the Model aircraft A320, the aircraft used by Mexican airlines Volaris, Interjet and VivaAerobús.

The workforce spent in four years from 80 to 250 people, who will complete 250,000 hours of work by the end of 2017. The company will conclude this year an investment plan of 100 million dollars, which was used, among other things, to acquire 17 new generation machines that In 30 minutes they cut one of the central pieces that make up the doors of the aircraft. At the beginning nine machines arrived and the first one started operating four months ago.

«We are recently incorporating the machining machinery that allows 40% reduction of the times, and is part of the initial plan,» Francisco Navarro, CEO of Airbus Helicopters in Mexico, said in an interview.

One of the objectives of the Airbus division in this complex is to double production capacity to 500,000 hours over a period of up to four years. «There are changes and improvements to reduce time,» said Fidel Olvera, leader in the engineering department at the plant located at Aerotech Industrial Park.

The plant will see increased production allowing to manufacture eight doors daily, instead of the four that produce in a day. Francisco Navarro explained that they started the project to incorporate the production of the doors of the A330 aircraft and is in process so that the plant in Querétaro is the only source of supply of all these parts for Airbus.

Airbus predicted that Latin America will require more than 2,500 new aircraft over the next 20 years. This demand will be driven mainly by the 4.5% annual growth in passenger traffic. A \ W
