Fly Jamaica Airways y Air Guyana anunciaron vuelos regulares directos entre Guyana y Cuba
Las autoridades de Guyana y de Fly Jamaica Airways y Air Guyana agradecieron al Instituto de Aeronáutica Civil de Cuba (IACC) por conceder los permisos necesarios para el inicio del servicio aéreo directo entre los dos países, tras varios meses de arduas negociaciones y esfuerzos por consumar “un sueño que ahora ya es una realidad palpable”.
Limberd Smith, representante de Fly Jamaica-Air Guyana, explicó a los asistentes que el proceso se inició hace poco más de tres años con la idea de fortalecer la integración del Caribe en materia de transportación aérea, turismo y viajes de multidestino, así como en aras de promover el comercio en la toda la región. “El día de hoy marca el inicio de una nueva era en la que el turismo y el comercio serán los actores principales,” afirmó el señor Smith en la ceremonia de lanzamiento, quien argumentó, además, que el hecho de que Guyana sea sede en estos momentos del CARICOM, ha contribuido enormemente a que hoy se pueda anunciar el inicio del servicio aéreo entre dos naciones con una historia de colaboración y solidaridad de larga data.
