El gobierno nacional de Argentina aplicó una reestructuración operativa de la Fuerza Aérea que trata de adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos tecnológicos y administrativos. La vieja región aérea (RANE) no sólo tenía función militar sino también civil, ahora la cuestión civil se encarga la ANAC.
La Fuerza Aérea se encarga de funciones militares, todo lo que es aeropuerto ahora se encarga la ANAC. Resistencia forma parte de la cabecera de esta red de radares, es el centro de información y control, y desde aquí se centraliza.
Eso destaca la importancia, militar y estratégicamente, de un punto muy necesario en su ubicación. La vigilancia del control aeroespacial que se realiza en Resistencia se integra en un esfuerzo de cooperación con las autoridades de seguridad.
