Aerolínea chilena JetSmart Airlines comenzó operaciones a Punta Arenas

El primer A320-200 de la low-cost chilena JetSmart Airlines arribó al Aeropuerto Carlos Ibáñez del Campo de Punta Arenas con el primer vuelo proveniente desde Santiago de Chile con 137 pasajeros a la Región de Magallanes.

De esta manera de concreta la intención de la compañía de aumentar no sólo la conectividad de la región con la capital de Chile, sino que también suma tramos hacia Puerto Montt, ofreciendo una frecuencia de 6 vuelos por semana y a tarifas bajas.

El Gerente General de JetSmart, Estuardo Ortiz, explicó que comenzaron “los viajes directos entre Punta Arenas y Puerto Montt, que tendrán una frecuencia de tres vuelos por semana y que se suman a las rutas Smart de la aerolínea, que ofrecen vuelos directos entre regiones, sin pasar por Santiago”. JetSmart espera cubrir una demanda en estas rutas a más de 25.000 personas en temporada alta, desde y hacia la zona sur del país.

JetSmart posee una flota de cinco Airbus A320-200. Además, la aerolínea acaba de anunciar un acuerdo con Airbus para la adquisición de 70 nuevos aviones, con la más alta tecnología con la incorporación del A320NEO, a ser entregados entre 2021 y 2026.

JetSmart Airlines espera tener una flota de más de 100 aviones a 2026 y transportar más de 100 millones de pasajeros, expandiéndonos a Sudamérica y convirtiéndonos en la aerolínea líder de bajo costo de América del Sur, un desafío que recién comienza.

Avianca comenzará a volar la nueva ruta Rosario—Córdoba desde marzo 2018

El desarrollo de las operaciones de Avianca desde hace un mes entre Buenos Aires—Rosario y Buenos Aires—Mar del Plata están superando las expectativas.

Avianca confirmó que comenzará a volar la ruta Rosario—Córdoba de forma regular a partir de marzo 2018. La firma colombiana logró revertir así la decisión del gobierno nacional, que no le daba esa conexión porque esgrimía que la misma es operada actualmente por Aerolíneas Argentinas. El gobierno provincial apoyó a la empresa en su reclamo. La decisión permitirá mejorar la conexión diaria no sólo con la capital mediterránea sino en conectividad hacia otros destinos sin pasar por Buenos Aires.

De esta manera, Avianca será la primera de las dos líneas aéreas autorizadas en unir Rosario con Córdoba. La otra compañía es la noruega Norwegian, que logró a comienzos de semana el visto bueno del Ministerio de Transporte de la Nación para conectar Rosario—Córdoba. Pero recién dentro de unas semanas anunciará su plan de desembarco en el interior del país, al acceder a la concesión de 153 rutas por los próximos 15 años, entre ellas para conectar el Aeropuerto Islas Malvinas en vuelo internacional Rosario—Miami y con vuelos domésticos a otras siete ciudades argentinas.

Avianca comenzó sus vuelos desde Rosario a Aeroparque el 21 de noviembre 2017 con tarifas promocionales de pasajes que se agotaron a los pocos días de haberse puesto a la venta. Y a partir del 28 de noviembre inició sus vuelos a Mar del Plata. La compañía utiliza aviones turbohélice cero kilómetro con capacidad para 70 asientos. La firma tiene dos vuelos diarios, pero para marzo está previsto que el puente aéreo con Buenos Aires sea duplicado.

El COMAC ARJ 21-700 realizó su primer vuelo regional con la aerolínea Chengdu Airlines

El avión regional chino COMAC ARJ 21-700 realizó el primer vuelo regional programado por primera vez el miércoles con la compañía aérea Chengdu Airlines desde Chengdu—Shangrao en la Provincia de Jiangxi, República de China.

El nuevo ARJ 21-700 puede transportar un máximo de 90 pax en una distancia de hasta 3.700 kilómetros. El dispositivo está diseñado para rutas más delgadas dentro de China. De ahí también provienen la mayoría de los clientes.

El ARJ 21, cuyo desarrollo demoró muchos años, es el primer avión de tráfico desarrollado y construido por China. El fabricante de aviones COMAC entregó la primera copia de producción en masa en octubre.

Flybondi iniciará operaciones a la Provincia de Misiones en enero 2018

Flybondi Líneas Aéreas iniciará operaciones en Posadas e Iguazú, Argentina en 2018. Según confirmó el Ministro de Turismo de la Provincia de Misiones, José María Arrúa, la empresa Flybondi realizará su primer vuelo promocional a Posadas el viernes 22 de diciembre 2017.

Tras esa presentación inicial, la compañía argentina empezará a operar de manera regular en 2018 y tendrá tres frecuencias que unirán a la «tierra colorada» con el resto del país. La programación de los vuelos comenzarán en enero 2018 con la frecuencia Córdoba—Iguazú con una frecuencia de dos semanales, al igual que Mendoza—Iguazú. En febrero 2018 se sumará la frecuencia que unirá El Palomar—Posadas.

Mercado en expansión
Las low cost aéreas se sumarán a la frecuencia hacia Iguazú que inauguró la empresa Andes Líneas Aéreas en 3Q2016 y a los vuelos de Aerolíneas Argentinas que presentan una tarifa tentadora. El rol de los buses se enfocarán en la realización de tramos más cortos con precios más accesibles. En Brasil no ha sucedido que las empresas de transportes de buses hayan desaparecido por el hecho de que las aerolíneas low cost hace tiempo que están. En un mercado con dinámica y reglas claras esto no debe ocurrir.

Flybondi Líneas Aéreas, que junto a Norwegian Air Argentina empezará a operar a partir de 2018 en nuestro país, tendrá frecuencias tanto a la capital misionera como a Puerto Iguazú. Norwegian, por su parte, también tendrá como destino la Provincia de Misiones. La empresa, una de las más grandes en el mundo del mercado low cost, pidió cinco rutas a Misiones; entre las que se encuentran Buenos Aires—Posadas, Buenos Aires—Iguazú, Córdoba—Iguazú y Rosario—Iguazú.

Las compañías aéreas de EEUU, American Airlines y JetBlue, solicitaron el pasado día 8 diciembre a Washington más frecuencias para volar a Cuba

El Departamento de Transporte de los Estados Unidos (DOT) ha recibido el pedido de aerolíneas para el incremento de frecuencias hacia Cuba.

La consolidación de los servicios en la ruta hacia Cuba se da por la renuncia de varias líneas aéreas a volar hacia la isla del Caribe, en favor de las más dinámicas o de aquellas que están en mejor posición en el mercado de las Antillas.

Solicitud de más frecuencias
JetBlue Airways señala en su solicitud que desea asumir más frecuencias debido a la cancelación y al fin del servicio entre EEUU y Cuba de Alaska Airlines el próximo 22 de enero de 2018. Esta aerolínea solicita a Washington siete nuevas frecuencias de vuelos entre Tampa y La Habana que se distribuirían en un vuelo diario. Todavía JetBlue tiene pendiente la respuesta del DOT sobre 21 frecuencias que solicitó en septiembre pasado para reasignaciones de vuelos de otras aerolíneas que dejaron de volar a la Isla. De aprobarse, JetBlue comenzaría a volar diariamente de Tampa a La Habana el próximo 14 de junio 2018 con un Airbus A320-200 de 162 asientos.

Delta Air Lines informó que están a la espera de los permisos correspondientes de las autoridades de Estados Unidos para elevar a dos la frecuencia diaria de los vuelos entre Miami y La Habana.

American Airlines ha solicitado siete vuelos adicionales además de los diez vuelos semanales que había solicitado en septiembre. Los nuevos vuelos pedidos por American Airlines son para cubrir diariamente la ruta Miami—La Habana.

Aerolíneas que se van de Cuba
La disminución de la demanda y las expectativas exageradas han llevado a varias aerolíneas de EEUU a finalizar o a reducir su servicio hacia Cuba.

Alaska Airlines y Sun Country Airlines pidieron en los pasados días renunciar a sus vuelos semanales a la Isla.

Frontier Airlines, con sede en Denver, anunció en marzo la cancelación de sus vuelos diarios entre Miami y La Habana a partir del 4 de junio.

En abril, el presidente ejecutivo de Spirit Airlines dijo que dejarían de volar a la Isla y que su compañía «seguiría vigilando el mercado cubano y si las circunstancias mejoran en el futuro, consideraríamos reanudar el servicio».

Silver Airways, una línea aérea regional también dejó de volar a Cuba por la escasa demanda obtenida.

Todas estas empresas citan una demanda inferior a la esperada como la razón principal. Hasta octubre último unos 544.171 norteamericanos, 336.556 más que en igual período de 2016, llegaron a Cuba bajo las 12 categorías de viaje autorizadas por la DOT estadounidense.

United Airlines será el primer operador de EEUU desde que Pan Am volava la ruta Mainland-Tahití

United Airlines empleará en la nueva ruta San Francisco—Papeete (Tahití) con Boeing 787-8 con capacidad para 219 pasajeros en tres clases en el vuelo, que operará tres veces por semana entre el 30 de octubre de 2018 y el 28 de marzo de 2019.

Desde los Estados Unidos continental el único servicio es desde Los Ángeles que vuela a la isla de Tahití por medio de Air France y Air Tahiti. Hawaiian Airlines vuela Honolulu-Papeete. El Aeropuerto Internacional Fa’a’ā de Papeete atendió solo 1,2 millones de pasajeros en 2016.

United comenzará a volar a la emblemática isla del Pacífico Sur desde el 30 de octubre de 2018. La aerolínea ofrecerá tres vuelos por semana entre su centro de operaciones en San Francisco hacia Papeete, la capital de la Polinesia Francesa que incluye a Tahití. United Airlines utilizará para cubrir la ruta con aeronaves Boeing 787-8 con 219 pax, que tomará alrededor de 8 horas de vuelo.

Patrick Quayle, vicepresidente de la red internacional del United, dijo que para muchos viajeros, incluidos los de Londres, Frankfurt y Tel Aviv, el nuevo vuelo brindará la mejor manera de llegar a Tahití en el mundo. «Permitiremos la conectividad a través del centro de San Francisco, y luego los pasajeros de Europa Occidental y Tel Aviv tendrán una ventanilla única», dijo. While the three US global operators are generally eager to focus on the advantages they offer to business travelers, Quayle spoke on Tuesday about United’s strength as a leisure company.

Expanding routes
The flights from Tahiti continue what has been a torrid international expansion for United during the past year. The carrier has added new destinations abroad, including Reykjavik, Iceland and Porto (Portugal).

United Airlines has launched the 18-hour Los Angeles—Singapore route, which has become the longest route ever flown by a US operator. Other international highlights for United in 2017 include Houston—Sydney; San Francisco—Zurich and Newark—Buenos Aires, resumed service discontinued in 2013.

«Tahiti is our 13th new international route this year. We have added a ton of new exotic and exciting destinations for our passengers, everything from Iceland to Porto, Houston to Sydney, LAX to Singapore and now to Tahiti», said Patrick Quayle, VP of the international network United Airlines.

However, United will probably have competition from San Francisco. It is expected to come from French Blue, a one-year, low-cost, long-distance French airline that plans to add service between Paris and Tahiti with a stop in San Francisco. Although United’s announcement about Tahiti comes a month after French Blue’s, Patrick Quayle said the timing is a coincidence.

Gol Linhas Aéreas volverá a volar a Estados Unidos en 3Q2018

Gol Linhas Aéreas comenzará retomará sus vuelos a Estados Unidos en el segundo semestre de 2018. A partir de ahí, la compañía dará inicio a una reanudación de vuelos a Estados Unidos. Gol llegó a volar a Miami y Orlando, vía Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, entre 2012 y 2015.

El retorno de los vuelos esta vez no incluyen la conexión con la República Dominicana. La aerolínea tiene planificado recibir los primeros Boeing 737-8 MAX, de 120 órdenes encomendadas al constructor americano. «Todavía no golpeamos el martillo sobre el destino, pero es cierto que volveremos a operar en el sur de Florida. Necesitamos algunas validaciones internas para hacer el anuncio, pero los vuelos no comenzarán antes de Julio de 2018, pues serán operados por los Boeing 737-8 MAX», expresó el Vicepresidente de Ventas y Marketing de Gol, Eduardo Bernardes.

Xpressair iniciará operaciones internacionales desde Pontianak-Miri

La aerolínea indonesa Xpressair iniciará ruta internacional uniendo Pontianak, Kalimantan Occidental hacia Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia. La ruta comenzará a operar el martes 12 de diciembre de 2017.

El Manager de Xpressair, Fanny Andri, expresó que la apertura de la ruta de vuelo se basa en varias consideraciones, entre las cuales se ve el potencial del mercado turístico de Pontianak a Miri.

Xpressair es una aerolínea indonesia que tiene varias rutas de vuelos nacionales e internacionales. Actualmente la flota utiliza Xpress Air hay tres tipos de aviones, la serie Boeing 737, Dornier y ATR.

Xpressair ofrecerá una tarifa bastante asequible durante el período de promoción, que va desde 400 mil rupias por un vuelo todos los martes y sábados a partir del 12 de diciembre de 2017.

Aerolíneas Argentinas realizó el primer vuelo comercial del Boeing 737-8 MAX

Aerolíneas Argentinas inició la programación de los vuelos del primer Boeing 737-8 MAX como cliente de lanzamiento en Argentina y Latinoamérica e Iberoamérica. El MAX 8 de Aerolíneas Argentinas está configurado con 170 pasajeros y una autonomía de 6.510 kilómetros (3.515 millas náuticas).

Tras el arribo del primer Boeing 737-8 MAX la compañía Aerolíneas Argentinas ha efectuado su primer vuelo comercial en la ruta desde Buenos Aires—Mendoza. El 1 Diciembre 2017 realizó su primer vuelo comercial con Aerolíneas Argentinas el Boeing 737-8 MAX, registro LV-GVD (msn 64207/ 6661) partió desde el Aeroparque a las 06:55 hs con destino a Mendoza cumpliendo el servicio AR1536, convirtiéndose en la primera empresa de la región en operarlo. Un segundo Boeing 737-8 MAX, LV-GVE (msn 64208/ 6717) arribará a Argentin a finales de Diciembre 2017.

El tráfico de pasajeros de Aerolíneas Argentinas aumentó un 15% en el último año, totalizando hasta un 22% más desde 2015. Con el objetivo de apoyar ese crecimiento, la aerolínea planea recibir una 11 «MAX» y emplearlos en rutas regionales y el Caribe.
