Nueva Terminal del Aeropuerto de Abuja procesará 15 millones de pasajeros anualmente

La finalización de la reurbanización de la Terminal 1 se realiza como parte del Programa de Mejoras de Capital de miles de millones de dólares, considerado el programa de obras públicas más grande en la historia para la Ciudad de Los Ángeles. The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) opens this Friday the new Terminal 1. The completion of the redevelopment of Terminal 1 is done as part of the Billions of dollars Capital Improvement Program, considered the largest public works program in history for the City of Los Angeles. The new works include an Automated People Mover, an elevated train that is expected to be completed by 2023, and is expected to ultimately create more than 121,000 construction-related jobs.

The four-year, US$ 516.7 million project created 3,475 construction jobs and completely renovated the antiquated terminal, which was initially built in the early 1980s before the 1984 Olympic Games. The project was completed with minimal impact on customer service and flight operations, keeping approximately 10 million customers moving through the facilities each year of redevelopment.

One of the main objectives of the T1 Project was to eliminate the lines that crowded the approaches to ticket sales, security and in stores and restaurants in previously closed areas. Now, the terminal works efficiently with a fleet of new self-service billing stations, repositioned security checkpoint and additional offers of shops and restaurants after security. The new 13-door terminal is a true transformation: from door to door, from wall to wall. Now it has an efficient 9-lane safety checkpoint; a fully automated inspection and classification system for checked baggage; arrival / luggage reclaimed area; upgraded and extended bathrooms; and replaced the client on boarding bridges.

With 22 restaurant and retail store destinations comprising 23,543 square feet, the new offerings present 13 new brands for LAX and eight that are making their debut at the airport. Additional improvements in Terminal 1 include the renovation of the airline support office space; upgraded aircraft parking/platform pavement and modernized hydrant fuel system; improvements in the facade of the building; a new roof; and relocation of the main terminal entrances to alleviate traffic congestion.
