Avelo lanza promociones domésticas

AW | 2021 08 17 07:13 | AIRLINES ROUTES

Avelo launches domestic promotions

Launch of domestic flights from US$ 29 by the end of the summer

American budget airline Avelo Airlines has announced the launch of promotional fares as the northern fall approaches. Airlines are responding to demand for low fares to encourage end-of-season services in the Northern Hemisphere. Avelo Airlines’ end-of-summer sale, offering nonstop domestic fares from its Los Angeles/Burbank home base for up to 50 percent off.

Inexpensive fares that are as low as US$ 29 each way and valid for travel through September 2021 are a perfect opportunity for West Coast-based travelers to eke out one last trip before fall officially arrives. To receive the discount, flights must be booked before August 31, 2021. Low cost airline promotions are varied to destinations served by Avelo Airlines from Hollywood/Burbank to the wine country in Santa Rosa/Sonoma County, California, for only US$ 29 one way. Routes from Burbank to Redding, California, home to the huge scenic waterfall at McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, also start at US$ 29 one-way. Another option is a wilderness excursion destination in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, with one-way flights from Burbank to Eugene, Oregon, starting at US$ 39, and Redmond/Bend, Oregon, as low as US$ 44. Flights from Avelo to Bozeman, Montana, a city that is considered a gateway to both Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park, are an interesting alternative with fares starting at US$ 59 each way. Salt Lake City State Park is another destination included in the sale with rates starting at US$ 44.

Avelo is considered an ultra-low-cost airline, which means it flies economy-wide planes and charges an additional fee for most services. But the low-cost carrier has some advantages over its bare-bones competitors: Every passenger in Avelo, for example, receives a snack and a bottle of water. Its ancillary fees are also some of the lowest in the industry, with first bag checked starting at just US$ 10. Other perks include priority boarding for US$ 10, seat selection starting at US$ 5, and the option to bring a pet for US$ 95. The airline plans to launch East Coast routes this fall. The airline offers an additional measure of flexibility: customers can change or cancel their flight up to 15 minutes before departure and receive the amount of the fare in the form of a travel credit.

FAA circular sobre advertencia terrorista

AW | 2021 08 16 21:24 | AVIATION SAFETY / AVIATION HISTORY

FAA Circular on terrorist warnings

Shortly after the 20th anniversary of the attacks in the United States

The Intelligence Office of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warned airlines in a circular dated August 16, 2021 under the heading of «Disguised Weapons»/IN-2001-12 that terrorists could use modified weapons and objects to hijack a plane. The circular had no real impact on airport security because the September 11, 2001 (9/11) hijackers appear to have used only knives and pocket knives, which they were allowed to carry at the time. Knives and razors were needed: As testimony from flight attendants and passengers made clear in phone calls from the condemned aircraft, flight attendants and passengers who resisted in First Class were stabbed and cut when the plane’s crew she was overwhelmed.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States, through a meticulous review of financial records, was able to determine after September 11, 2001 that the terrorists aboard each flight purchased at least seven knives. On August 13, 2001, Marwan al-Shehhi, the terrorist-pilot of United Airlines Flight UA175, which hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center, purchased two short-bladed knives, a Cliphanger Viper and an Imperial Tradesman Dual Edge, at Sports Authority in Boynton Beach, Fla. Fayez Banihammad and Hamza al Ghamdi, men aboard the same flight, purchased a Stanley two-piece quick knife set (a type of multitool) and a Leatherman Wave multitool at Wal-Mart in Boynton.

Ceremony 20 anniversaries of 9/11

The act with which the city of New York will remember this year the dead and injured by the attack of September 11, 2001 on the World Trade Center (Twin Towers) will be attended only by relatives of the fallen, as a measure to avoid contagion of Covid-19. As usual, the meeting will be at the monument located in the World Trade Center, south of Manhattan Island, where the names of the almost 3,000 people who died in the collapse of the Twin Towers are engraved in marble, but this time lifeguards, survivors or authorities will not be able to participate.

In previous years, presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, as well as senators, governors and other American dignitaries, were in remembrance of the worst attack in history on US soil. Thousands of people also went to the Ground Zero area in recent years to pay tribute to the deceased, most of them police, firefighters and rescue workers, in addition to the employees who were in their offices on that fateful day.

This year, the 9/11 Museum and Memorial sent the usual invitations to the families of the victims but, according to the ANSA news agency, the call warns that «the ceremony will be exclusively for the relatives of 9/11». The cards will serve as «the credential for entrance to the ceremony in the memorial plaza,» the letters read, and those who attend will be grouped near the two square marble fountains where Manhattan’s tallest towers stood. of the memorial, Lee Cochran, explained that «only family members are invited, although they can bring «as many additional guests of family members as they wish».

The tradition of meeting and reading the names of the victims began the year after the attack, on September 11, 2002, when authorities and family members gathered at Ground Zero, where at that time there was still rubble. Twenty years after that inhuman attack on values as a society, the heartbeat of a tragedy that reaches us to this day resounds in our ears, where commercial aviation continues to learn from mistakes.

Argentina bonificarían pasajes aéreos

AW | 2021 08 16 19:06 | GOVERNMENT / AIRLINES

Gobierno planea bonificaciones pasajes aéreos a turistas extranjeros

Argentina would discount air tickets

Argentine government plans discounts on airfare to foreign tourists

The Government of the Argentine Republic plans to open the borders in October 2021 and authorize the entry of foreign tourists. To reactivate the arrival of visitors from abroad, while they seek to implement granting discounts on the cost of air tickets through the company Aerolíneas Argentinas, according to the official statement on Monday 08/16. This bonus can reach 100% if visitors have a stay of a certain number of days. «There must be material incentives for tourists to choose a destination», said the Minister of Tourism, Matías Lammens.

In principle, they analyze opening the borders with countries that have a good health situation, with a significant percentage of their population vaccinated and probably require tourists to be immunized to enter Argentina. The Minister of Tourism reported that when the entry of foreign visitors is enabled, they will not quarantine after entering the country 65% of foreign tourists visiting Argentina are from neighboring countries, including Uruguay.

From the Tourism portfolio they indicated that several details of the project need to be coordinated, in which they work with Aerolíneas Argentinas to reduce the costs of tickets. They added that one of the reasons for this initiative is that flights to Argentina tend to be more expensive than flights to other countries in the region. They also consider that the favorable exchange rate for visitors and the elimination of restrictions for tourists are not sufficient incentives to reactivate the sector.

Pobeda cancela Boeing 737 MAX

AW | 2021 08 16 18:45 | AIRLINES / INDUSTRY

Aerolínea rusa Pobeda renuncia contrato del Boeing 737 MAX

AW-Pobeda Airlines_Isologotype

Pobeda cancels Boeing 737 MAX

Russian airline Pobeda resigns Boeing 737 MAX contract

Russian airline Pobeda Airlines, part of the Aeroflot Group, has resigned its contract to buy Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, but will not incur any penalties, because the aircraft is not yet authorized for use in Russia, the company’s CEO told reporters, Andrei Kalmykov: «Yes, we have renounced solid contracts for Boeing 737 MAX without any penalty», he said in an official statement from the airline.

The Boeing Company had stopped deliveries of 737 MAXs to customers due to temporary grounding, caused by industrial design errors that led to two plane crashes, putting the company in the eye of the storm for audits in safety. The recertification involved the critical Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS), which was activated in response to misinformation from the Angle of Attack (AOA). After that, the flights of the Boeing 737 MAX line were suspended until after reaching after twenty months of meticulous work, the new recertification in November 2020.

Currently, many countries have reinstated product certification licenses, including the United States, while the Russian Federation, India and China continue to work to revalidate the line of fourth generation aircraft. The Head of Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko told reporters that the issue of Boeing 737 MAX certification in Russia will be raised again when the global epidemiological situation improves.

Boeing 737 MAX

Boeing 737 MAX

Following the requested order for twelve Boeing 737-9 MAXs (12) entering the fleet this year, the plan is to deliver 31 next year 2022, 32 in 2023 and 18 in 2024. These will replace all Airbus A320s inherited from the fleet. acquisition of Virgin America Airways in 2016, as well as some older Boeing 737s.

Alaska Airlines won’t have to put up cash for these planes until next year. Boeing 787 para Norse Atlantic

AW | 2021 08 16 17:44 | AIRLINES

Emerge Boeing 787 para Norse Atlantic Airways

AW-Norse Atlantic Airways_Isologotype

Boeing 787 emerges for Norse Atlantic Airways

Norse Atlantic Airways‘ first Boeing 787-9 has been revealed after completing the painting process on its first commercial aircraft. On Sunday night 08/15, the airline published images of its first Dreamliner aircraft. The Boeing 787-9 aircraft registration LN-LNO is named after the Raet National Park in Arendal, Norway.

The reveal comes less than a week after Norse Atlantic released renderings of its visual identity. Norse Atlantic CEO Bjorn Tore Larsen said: «We were inspired by the ships the Vikings used when they sailed the seas 1,000 years ago. We identify a bit with the voyage that our predecessors made across the Atlantic, and by therefore our Dreamliners will be our long boats».

Norse Atlantic perspectives

The airline expects to have fifteen Dreamliners in its fleet by the summer of 2022. Norse Atlantic’s advertising to date suggests that the European springboard airports will be Oslo, London and Paris. Across the Atlantic, New York, Los Angeles, and an unspecified city in Florida are marked as likely destinations. «Our plans are underway and operations will begin when travel restrictions are lifted and the demand for transatlantic travel is back», CEO Bjørn Tore Larsen said last week.

Norse Atlantic plans to employ 1,600 people by next summer. For their sake, most people would hope that the Norse would be successful. But clearly there is some ill will on the part of the Norwegian failure and the smooth transition that top Norwegian executives have made to Norse Atlantic. It is an obstacle that the Nordics will have to overcome.

Boeing 787 dukker opp for Norse Atlantic Airways

Norse Atlantic planlegger å sysselsette 1600 mennesker innen neste sommer.

Turkish vuelo alto riesgo a Kabul

AW | 2021 08 16 17:18 | AIRLINES / AVIATION SAFETY

Turkish high risk flight to Kabul

Turkish Airlines makes last repatriation flight

A Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300 was able to land and take off from Kabul International Airport on Monday 16/08 despite the prevailing chaos in the capital of Afghanistan and at the airport controlled by the United States Army, carrying out a very high risk operation to commercial air navigation.

As military and civilian planes struggled to get out of Kabul, Afghanistan, a Turkish Airlines plane tried to get in. Turkish Airlines flew what is likely its last flight to Kabul on Monday 08/16 amid an exodus of civilians following the rapid advance of the Taliban through the capital. Despite mounting tensions in Afghanistan, flight TK706 departed from Istanbul Airport in Turkey early on Monday 08/16 for Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport, according to Flightradar24.

The airline had been operating the flight consistently throughout the summer and over the weekend. Kabul is one of its more than 300 destinations, many of which are in the Middle East and South Asia. After entering Afghanistan’s airspace from neighboring Turkmenistan, the plane, a Boeing 777-300, was in a hold pattern for just under an hour before continuing to Kabul for a 07:44 a.m. landing. But instead of using the commercial terminal in Kabul, the plane parked in a section of the airport used primarily by the military, Flightradar24 said. The flight back to Istanbul, initially scheduled for 08:15 a.m., did not depart until after 01:00 p.m. Flightradar24 showed the plane taxiing, returning to its parking spot, and finally returning to the runway. He left for Istanbul with 324 passengers, according to Turkish media. The five-hour flight progressed smoothly as it crossed Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Georgia before entering Turkish airspace. He used the commercial terminal in Istanbul.

Photos and videos on Monday showed Afghans swarming the airport and boarding planes in a desperate attempt to flee the country. American military planes were evacuating Americans and Afghan special visa applicants trying to come to the United States.

Turkish Airlines’ other destination in Afghanistan is Mazar-i-Sharif, which fell to the Taliban on Saturday night 08/14. The last recorded Turkish Airlines flight between Istanbul and Mazar-i-Sharif took place on June 30, according to FlightAware. Flightradar24 showed that the airline’s scheduled flights to Kabul on Tuesday 08/17 and Wednesday 08/18 had been canceled.

Türk basınına göre 324 yolcuyla İstanbul’a gitti.
