Tribunal holandés busca procesamiento judicial del Malaysia Airlines MH017

AW | 2017 07 05 11:04 | AIR INVESTIGATION

Dutch court seeks MH017 prosecution

Malaysia Airlines flight MH-017 was shot down in the war zone in Ukraine in 2014, killing 298 people on board

The Supreme Court of the Netherlands has stated that suspects linked to the fall of Malaysia Airlines‘ MH17 flight over Ukraine in 2014 should be tried by a Dutch court. A joint European investigation team, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), decided that suspects should be prosecuted in the Netherlands, «a process that will be rooted in ongoing international cooperation and support.» Attempts to form an international court to investigate the incident, which claimed the lives of 298 people, were thwarted by Russia in 2015. To date there are no direct culprits about the tragedy of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH-017.

Closing of the Donetsk conflict zone?
The Security Council of the Netherlands had recommended that Ukraine’s airspace should have been closed because it was considered a war zone. «We have concluded that the Ukrainian authorities had to close the space of their country», affirmed the president of the Dutch Council.

Nearly three years after the demolition of the MH-017 on land of Donetsk district, Ukraine on 17 July 2014, the interim report published in September 2016, JIT determined that the MH17 flight was shot down in territory controlled by the separatist Pro-Russian in Ukraine. The provisional conclusions of the JIT confirmed an earlier technical report from the Dutch Safety Board that the aircraft was shot down by an air-to-surface missile. The JIT report said the launch site was near Pervomaiskiy, a city in Kharkiv, Ukraine, which was under the control of pro-Russian rebels at the time. A \ W

Oleadas de incidentes en Asia

AW | 2017 07 04 17:47 | AIR INVESTIGATION

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

Surge of incidents in Asia

AirAsia X and Malaysia Airlines aircraft caught in aviation incidents. Investigations opened

The Australian Transportation Safety Bureau is investigating the latest incident involving an AirAsia X A330, in addition to last week’s engine stop off of Western Australia, as well as an AirAsia X Airbus A330. The incident of Monday’s AirAsia X flight on the impact of birds when the plane left the Gold Coast Airport to fly to Kuala Lumpur.

An ATSB spokesman said the D7207 flight to Gold Coast was being treated as an engine failure, until more evidence was obtained. It is believed that the remains of the birds have been found on the runway of the Gold Coast Airport after the A330 experienced engine problems and vibrations shortly after takeoff, forcing the flight to divert towards Brisbane.

The other incident under the ATSB investigation includes another engine blackout on an AirAsia X Airbus A330 flying from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur on August 16, 2016, and a drop below the minimum security level on the Gold Coast September 11 last year. In connection with the incident on 16 August, the ATSB noted that the completion of a draft report had been delayed «by the priorities and workload of the investigator in charge.»

Research conducted in recent months related to a shooting incident in Melbourne on 9 September 2016, involving again an Airbus A330 and an incident at Melbourne Airport on 31 March 2016 with an A330 of Malaysia Airlines.

Another incident of March 10, 2015 occurred when an AirAsia X pilot received incorrect flight data for a trip from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur, and the plane had to be guided by Air Traffic Control to Melbourne. A\W
