Mahan Air llega a Venezuela

Mahan Air a fundamentalist airline of Iran will connect with the Westhern

Mahan Air is a new airline of the Islamic Republic of Iran that has made commercial agreements to unite a new destination in the West as a gateway to Caracas, Venezuela. Mahan Air started direct flights Tehran-Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, a 16-hour trip for government officials aboard the airline.

Syria Case

The airline Mahan Air is rated by western intelligence services as a real threat to integrity and security. The Iranian airline has been accused on several occasions of integrating a network for Islamic fundamentalist operations, playing an integral role in providing the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad with the manpower and weapons to fuel his war effort loaded with atrocities.

Since the beginning of the civil war in Syria in March 2011, a number of Iranian commercial carriers have been providing military support to Assad and Hezbollah. They have increased their pace since the summer of 2015, when Iran and Russia coordinated their efforts to save the then vacillating Assad regime. The most atrocious result has claimed the lives of more than half a million Syrians who have died in the conflict. Half of the country’s population is internally displaced or has sought refuge in neighboring countries. The crisis has also spread to Europe, with an unprecedented wave of refugees seeking refuge.

Related imageMahan Air and other Iranian commercial airlines have incurred serious air navigation faults, violating international trade and air traffic control standards. In 2018, Farzin Nadimi, from the Near East Policy Institute in Washington, evaluated that over a two-month period, the airlift brought 21,000 people and 5,000 tons of supplies to Damascus. Over a period of three years and at a constant rate, that is, almost 380,000 people have exchanged front lines with approximately 90,000 tons of supplies, mostly of war origin.

Many of the planes that Mahan Air uses to fly, under cover of darkness, to Damascus, often resume regular civil transport the next morning, heading to tourist destinations or business centers around the world.

Israel denounces the terrorist operations of Mahan Air. In September 2018, Israel sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General, accusing the Republic of Iran of using civilian planes to smuggle weapons to the Islamist terrorist group Hezbollah in Lebanon. In the letter, the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, stated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) uses airlines such as Mahan Air, a privately owned Iranian airline, to transport military equipment. According to Danon, Quds Force officers pack weapons and material in suitcases that are transferred to Hezbollah on commercial flights. Suitcases arrive on flights to Beirut or Damascus in Syria. Then they are transferred by land to Lebanon.

«It is clear that Iran remains the main supplier of weapons and material related to Hezbollah, in flagrant violation of numerous Security Council resolutions. The Security Council must condemn Iran and Hezbollah for violating its resolutions», Danon wrote.

«Mahan Air is the airline chosen by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Force-Quds, which facilitates its support for terrorism throughout the Middle East. Mahan’s regular flights to Syria are used to shore up the Assad regime and deliver arms, foreign fighters and Iranian agents who sow violence and riots throughout the region. The government of the United States has been very clear about the deadly role that Mahan Air played», said then Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin.

In December 2018, during an Israeli attack on Iranian facilities in Syria, a Mahan Air flight left Damascus around 10 pm, amid air strikes, something that any civilian airline would avoid at all costs.

Mahan Air arrives in Venezuela

The spokesman for the Organization of Civil Aviation of Iran announced that flights between Tehran and Caracas, Venezuela were started by the Iranian airline Mahan Air.

Mahan Air of Iran is accused of transporting equipment and military personnel to Syria and other war zones in the Middle East; as well as military supplies for the terrorist organization Hezbollah. For too long, Mahan Air has been an accomplice to mass murder and has been treated as another commercial carrier.

Mahan Air, the second largest airline in Iran, began offering direct flights to Venezuela. The first flight took off from Tehran on Monday with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on board, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.

The private airline has nothing to fear in terms of reprisals from the United States, since Washington had added them to the blacklist in 2011 amid US claims that it provided logistical support to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. , an Iranian military unit that the United States has recently considered designating. As a foreign ‘terrorist organization’.

Caracas is the first destination in the Western Hemisphere for Mahan Air, whose aircraft currently service nearly 50 national and international routes through Iran, Asia and Europe. The airline was recently forced to stop its flights to destinations in France and Germany for alleged logistics flights to Syria in support of the Syrian army and its counter-terrorist operations.

Mahan Air was established in 1992, becoming the first private airline in Iran. The airline has more than three dozen modern aircraft, including aircraft manufactured by Airbus, British Aerospace and a Boeing 747-300, and is one of the largest airlines in the country.

The Trump administration unilaterally withdrew from the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement in May 2018, slapped the Middle East country with several rounds of increasingly difficult sanctions and threatened to reduce the country’s oil revenues «to zero.» In January, EE. UU He imposed severe sanctions on Venezuela’s oil industry and confiscated government assets abroad as part of an attempt to have the opposition leader and self-proclaimed «interim president» Juan Guaido take power.

Tehran was one of some 50 countries that denounced US interference in Venezuela at the UN in February, and has expressed support for the government of the democratically elected country. A \ W

Image result for Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA)

The first flight was celebrated with the traditional baptism of water with hydrant trucks at the Rio Galeão International Airport. With this flight, Norwegian became the operator of the first long-distance, low-fare international flight in the Brazilian market. Each section costs approximately 260 dollars for the case of the Economy cabin, and about 730 for the Premium cabin, which represents up to 45% less in relation to other direct flights for that same route. This new route to Gatwick Airport in London represents a new gateway for Brazilians in the British capital, as well as enjoying the benefits of Rio de Janeiro. A \ W

JetBlue Airways desafía el Atlántico

AW-Airbus_a321_neo.jpg

AW | 2019 03 31 19:13 | AIRLINES ROUTES

JetBlue mira hacia Europa

Resultado de imagen para jetblue logo pngThe low cost US airline JetBlue Airways studies crossing the Atlantic

For several years, JetBlue Airways executives have been hinting at the possibility of flying to the old continent. An approximation to this fact is that the airline negotiated the right to convert some of its Airbus A321NEO’s orders to the larger A321NEO LR model. However, JetBlue Airways has yet to move forward with firm plans for the transatlantic service.

Awakening competitiveness

On the other side of the US coast is Southwest Airlines, where some experts have speculated that the launch of flights from the west coast to Hawaii could also pave the way for it to enter the European market. CEO Gary Kelly may have encouraged this speculation by pointing out last year that the city of Baltimore-Washington could be a logical starting point for flights to Europe. But it is likely that Southwest will develop only a symbolic presence in Europe, if so, for at least the next decade.

JetBlue looks towards Europe

On April 10, 2019, JetBlue Airways will hold a special talk for employees in New York about the vision and strategy of JetBlue. It has been speculated that JetBlue would use this event to announce its plans to fly to Europe. JetBlue management previously stated that the company would decide during 2019 whether or not to convert some Airbus orders to the A321LR. JetBlue had initially planned to make this decision by the end of 2017, but delayed the timetable to continue studying the business case.

Resultado de imagen para jetblue A321 pngTransatlantic market

JetBlue Airways studies the transatlantic market in the midst of a revolution of companies that declared themselves bankrupt, especially the European low cost, so entering the transatlantic market may sound quite convincing. When studying the new product of the Airbus construction, the extended-range A321LR, has much in common with the other Airbus A320 family aircraft that are already in the JetBlue fleet, which would have a commonality for the company fleet and future flights to Europe, focusing services from New York and/or Boston, which are relatively closer to Europe. JetBlue Airways’ lack of transatlantic service is one of its biggest weaknesses when competing for business travelers in Boston, where it is already the largest airline. JetBlue flies to 40 of the 50 best destinations in Boston today; four of the 10 that do not work are in Europe: Dublin, London, Paris and Reykjavik.

The Airbus A321LR has a wide range to fly from Boston and New York to the four cities, along with other key markets such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Madrid. Lastly, JetBlue already has a highly acclaimed flat bed business class that it uses for transcontinental flights, which could be adapted to the transatlantic market.

In the case of Southwest Airlines flights to Europe they do not make as much sense. The case of Southwest Airlines to fly to Europe is much weaker. On the one hand, its product in flight is aimed at short-distance flights. The lack of meals in flight and extra seats for the legs could be cause for break for some travelers on the routes of the west coast-Hawaii and could be even more problematic in flights to Europe, so the flight times would be even longer. However, the biggest problem is that Southwest’s planes do not have enough scope to serve most of Europe effectively from the airline’s major markets. The Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is the only one of the 10 largest Southwest focal cities located in the Northeast.

Southwest Airlines has a large presence in BWI, with more than 200 daily flights. But BWI is almost 400 miles farther from Europe than Boston. In addition, the Boeing Boeing 737-8 MAX has an established range of only 3,550 nautical miles, compared to 4,000 nautical miles for the A321LR. That means Southwest could probably fly the 737-8 MAX from BWI to some popular leisure destinations like Reykjavik, Dublin and Edinburgh. But flying to London would have limitations, as well as continental Europe would be out of the question. The smaller Boeing 737-7 MAX will have more range (approximately 3,900 nautical miles), which puts London and some key cities in continental Europe within range. But it will have significantly higher unit costs than the Boeing 737-8 MAX, which makes it much more difficult to make gains on long distance routes.

Different business models

Different business models and different regional footprints. It is not very surprising that flying to Europe makes sense for JetBlue Airways but not for Southwest Airlines. The roots of JetBlue are in the northeast, while Southwest began in Texas and expanded from there. JetBlue Airways has offered extra leg room seating for an additional fee for more than a decade, while its rival has maintained a policy of open seats. Given the capabilities of today’s technology, namely the Airbus A321LR and the Boeing 737-8 MAX, flying to Europe is a natural extension of the JetBlue business, just as flying to Hawaii is a natural growth avenue for Southwest Airlines.

It is likely that Southwest decides a few years later to start flying from BWI to nearby points in Europe that it can reach with the 737 MAX: Iceland, Ireland and Great Britain. But with only a few dozen departures daily at other airports in the northeast closer to Europe, compared to more than 150 JetBlue daily departures in both New York and Boston, it is likely that Southwest Airlines will not make a significant move to Europe in the foreseeable future.

Level launches the first direct flight between Barcelona and Santiago de Chile

Level Airlines makes its first non-stop flight between Barcelona and Santiago de Chile. The first direct flight between Barcelona and Santiago de Chile took off this Sunday from the Catalan capital operated by low-cost, long-haul airline Level, the only one offering this non-stop route. The flight took off at 11:05 hours from the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport and was inaugurated by the company’s CEO, Vincent Hodder, who explained that they expect to transport around 2,000 passengers per month on this route.

The manager has indicated that Level will initially offer the route twice a week, but the forecast is that by the end of July the frequency will increase to four weekly flights, thus democratizing this long-haul trip. Hodder has stated that the demand for this flight is greater in Chile than in Spain because of the relevance of «the historical roots between both countries, culture and language», but he has been convinced that this route will increase the number of Spanish visitors to the South American country.

Future expansion

The low cost airline will also open a new Barcelona-New York (JFK) route for July 2019, which will start with three weekly flights. The executive director has also guaranteed that the company has many more plans to link Barcelona directly with other destinations, among which are studying options in Asia, the United States, Canada and Latin America.

Level started operating at El Prat Airport in June 2017 and, since then, it has transported some 500,000 passengers with a fleet of three Airbus A330-200, which will be added one more aircraft during this year. The company’s plans for Barcelona include increasing the frequency of flights to San Francisco, which in July will increase to three weekly trips, and maintain three flights per week to Boston and eight to Buenos Aires.

American Airlines cancels operations in the Republic of Venezuela

American Airlines has communicated its decision to cancel its operations between the United States and Venezuela, a measure that had already been temporarily advanced since last March 15, 2019 for security reasons. The official statement states: «We have taken the difficult decision to indefinitely suspend service to Venezuela. We will continue to monitor the situation and also work with our team members, union leaders and other key stakeholders to restart services when the conditions are right», said the company, based in Fort Worth (Texas), and explained that the measure became effective immediately.

American Airlines, covering the route Miami-Caracas and Miami-Maracaibo, argued that since last March 15, 2019, when he announced the temporary suspension of operations to the South American country, he was working to reestablish the service.

American is an airline with extensive experience in the South American country with more than 30 years in Venezuela, confirming that it was a difficult decision to lift the scale. The airline is working to assist the team and look for other opportunities.

American Airlines was the only large US airline that continued operations to Venezuela from Miami, after United Airlines and Delta Air Lines suspended the service in 2017. On January 23, 2019, the Government of Nicolás Maduro broke diplomatic relations with the United States. United and gave a period of 72 hours for diplomatic staff to leave the country.

In 2014, the Government of Venezuela prevented the repatriation of revenues from the airlines for more than 3,000 million dollars for exchange control of the Bolivarian government. Many companies since that date have canceled commercial operations indefinitely, including: Avianca, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Aerolineas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Latam Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Alitalia, Tame Airlines and recently, American Airlines. The airlines that continue to fly are: Copa Airlines, Air France, Iberia, Aruba Airlines, Caribbean Airlines, Wingo Airlines and TAP Portugal. The group of Venezuelan airlines includes: Avior Airlines, Estelar Airlines, among others with financial difficulties. A \ W

The British company easyJet will reopen for the third consecutive year its seasonal base at Palma de Mallorca Airport to meet its demand in high season, between the months of March-October 2019. EasyJet will have 5 aircraft and for this summer season it plans to increase the offer seats of their flights by 25% over the previous year. EasyJet will incorporate larger aircraft such as the A320 and A321. In 2019 the airline plans to transport 3 million passengers, 7% more than in 2018.

«In a year of uncertainty for some companies, we have shown that our business model is solid and that our strategy of sustained growth is paying off. The reopening of the seasonal base in Palma de Mallorca demonstrates our long-term commitment and our willingness to offer the best service in the most competitive way», said Javier Gándara, Managing Director of easyJet for Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands.

Readjusting the season

The reopening of the seasonal base means the creation of 29 jobs, which add to the 201 stable jobs. The majority of this additional staff will be pilots in an easyJet strategy to mitigate the air congestion and delays that Palma Airport is expected to suffer again this summer. In addition, the company plans to increase its market share in Palma by 10% this year, 1% more than in 2018.

EasyJet offers 26 international connections from Palma, including London, Berlin, Geneva, Paris, Milan and Amsterdam. It foresees to surpass this year the 25 million passengers transported to or from Palma since its first connection in 1998 with a flight between Luton-Palma. The increase in capacity in already existing routes and the reopening of the seasonal base mean that this year easyJet faces the highest growth in Palma in the last two years. A \ W
