La aerolínea Latam Airlines ya obtuvo la aprobación para operar las rutas Santiago de Chile—Rosario y Tucumán, Lima—Mendoza y Tucumán. Estas rutas ya eran operadas por las subsidiarias locales de LAN Argentina, previamente a su fusión con la brasileña Tam el año pasado

La ANAC (Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil) aprobó el pedido por parte de Latam para operar rutas dentro de Argentina, y hacia Chile y Perú. En la actualidad Latam cubre varios destinos dentro del país hacia Perú y Chile. Además de Mendoza y Tucumán, la aerolínea cuenta con vuelos regulares entre Córdoba y Salta hacia Perú. De esta manera se siguen abriendo nuevos caminos entre las ciudades de este país y la región, incrementando la llegada de los argentinos a distintos destinos del continente.

La aerolínea Latam Airlines basa su estrategia en una continua expansión de su alcance dentro de toda Latino América a diferencia de otras empresas como Aerolíneas Argentinas, que se enfoca solo en generar una red interna de vuelos. La aerolínea canadiense Air Transat iniciará vuelos a la isla caribeña de Puerto Rico

El director ejecutivo de la Compañía de Turismo de Puerto Rico (CTPR), José Izquierdo, informó el viernes que la aerolínea canadiense Air Transat comenzará a volar al Aeropuerto Internacional Luis Muñoz Marín (SJU) a partir del 24 de diciembre de 2017, desde el Aeropuerto Internacional de Toronto Pearson (YYZ) y el Aeropuerto Internacional de Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau (YUL).

“Los nuevos vuelos anunciados por Air Transat demuestra que Puerto Rico continúa siendo un destino sumamente atractivo para las aerolíneas y reafirma el compromiso de la administración del Gobernador Ricardo Rosselló de que estamos abiertos para hacer negocios. José Izquierdo explicó que Air Transat, con base en Montreal, Quebec, operará un vuelo semanal (los domingos) desde ambos destinos durante la temporada invernal. El vuelo de YYZ será operado por un avión Boeing 737-800, con una capacidad máxima de 189 pasajeros, mientras que el vuelo de YUL será operado por un avión Boeing 737-700, con capacidad máxima de 148 pasajeros. Air Transat se convierte en la segunda aerolínea en anunciar que comenzará a volar hacia San Juan en lo que va del año, añadió.

En marzo, Frontier Airlines anunció que comenzaría operaciones entre Orlando y Filadelfia hacia San Juan el 11 de junio de 2017. Asimismo, Air Transat se convierte en la tercera aerolínea canadiense en unir a Puerto Rico y dicho país (Air Canada y Westjet), manifestó.

Air Transat ofrece vuelos comerciales y de “chárter”, mayormente a destinos cálidos en la Florida y el Caribe desde ciudades principales de Canadá. Actualmente vuelan a sobre 60 ciudades en 30 países y cuentan con una flota de 43 aviones.

La temporada invernal para los vuelos de Air Transat culminará el 22 de abril de 2018. Entre las tres aerolíneas canadienses que ahora operarán vuelos hacia SJU, habrá un total de cinco vuelos semanales desde Toronto y dos vuelos semanales desde Montreal, todos operados durante la temporada invernal.

Se estima que los nuevos vuelos de Air Transat combinados traerán sobre 4,000 visitantes a la Isla, cuyo impacto económico anualmente será de aproximadamente $1,100,000.

Vigo se ha convertido tras diez meses de funcionamiento en el sexto destino español con más tráfico de los nueve en los que opera la aerolínea portuguesa TAP

La ruta inaugurada el 1 de julio del año pasado entre Peinador y el Aeropuerto de Lisboa supera ya este año en número de pasajeros a las que también con la capital portuguesa operan desde Asturias y A Coruña. Entre enero y finales de abril el turbohélice que hace la ruta cada día entre la capital lusa y Vigo ha sido utilizado ya por 7.935 pasajeros, frente a 7.640 que lo hicieron desde el aeropuerto asturiano y 6.372 que volaron desde Alvedro.

Únicamente en el mes de marzo la terminal de Asturias contó con más usuarios que Peinador, situación en la que en todo caso incidió la avería registrada en el sistema antiniebla de la pista viguesa, que obligó a desviar 22 vuelos y generó notables retrasos en otros.

La ruta a Lisboa es en los cuatro primeros meses del 2017 la tercera con más pasajeros de entre la veintena que operará a lo largo del año de manera regular en Vigo. El año pasado fue utilizada en los seis meses en los que estuvo operativa por 11.361 usuarios, mientras que durante todo el ejercicio los hicieron hacia o desde Lisboa a A Coruña 15.402 y a Asturias 18.603.

Cambio de horario

La dirección de la TAP se declaró ayer «satisfecha» con los resultados logrados en la terminal de Vigo, así como también en el resto de las de España, donde han crecido en todas sus rutas desde Portugal, salvo la que opera con Barcelona. «Se demuestra que Lisboa es una alternativa a Madrid, Barcelona o París para los vuelos intercontinentales que cubre toda la red de la TAP, especialmente en el caso de los vuelos a África, Brasil y Norteamérica», señala la portavocía de la aerolínea portuguesa, que ya en los años ochenta abrió su primera ruta a Peinador con un vuelo a Oporto que solo duró unas semanas.

Pese a la satisfacción manifestada, la TAP ha modificado para la actual temporada aérea de verano y por tercera vez el horario de partida de sus vuelos con destino a Lisboa desde Peinador. Cuando comenzó a operar la ruta, esta partía de Vigo a las 20.00 horas, lo que obligaba a hacer noche en la capital portuguesa, aunque la aerolínea se hacía cargo de los gastos de hotel si se había contratado un viaje posterior de larga distancia. La escasa operatividad de dicho horario llevó a la compañía a implantar en noviembre un horario que facilitase los enlaces a los viajeros desplazados desde Vigo, que pasaron a salir de Peinador a las 12,10 horas, permitiendo prolongar los vuelos intercontinentales en el mismo día.

Pero en la nueva temporada estival la TAP ha vuelto a retrasar la salida desde Peinador permitiendo solo enlazar en el aeropuerto de A Portela con vuelos de tarde. Hasta finales de octubre los ATR de TAP Express partirán de la pista viguesa a las 15.30 horas, para llegar a Lisboa a las 15.40 con horario del país vecino. Al contrario el avión con destino Vigo saldrá de la capital lusa a las 12.45.

Horario definitivo

La aerolínea portuguesa avanza que este nuevo horario no será el definitivo para la ruta que une las dos ciudades, y que la franja horaria definitiva saldrá de un estudio que se efectúe en octubre con los resultados de la temporada de verano tanto en la ruta de Vigo como en el resto de las de corta distancia que efectúa la aerolínea tanto en Portugal como en España. En el mismo análisis se examinará la posibilidad de ampliar el tamaño de los aviones utilizados, aunque la ocupación media actual permite seguir operando con los aparatos de 72 plazas.

«Todo dependerá de los aviones disponibles y de los derechos de vuelo libres en el aeropuerto de Lisboa, muy saturado ya y que hace difícil poder elegir sin limitaciones horarios», señala la portavocía de la aerolínea TAP, que descarta cambios en sus planes de vuelo desde Vigo al menos hasta la próxima temporada invernal que arranca a finales de octubre.

Avianca opera desde este martes 16 una línea directa entre Bogotá y Montevideo, en vuelos diarios a cargo de aviones Airbus 319, con capacidad para 120 pasajeros. “Hasta hace poco llegaban a Uruguay unos 3.000 colombianos por año, pero ahora ya son más de 35.000”, destacó la ministra de Turismo, Liliam Kechichian. Con esta ruta se “abren las puertas para seguir creciendo en esa zona costera del océano Pacífico”, añadió.

Kechichian y su par de Transporte y Obras Públicas, Víctor Rossi, junto con autoridades de Avianca y del aeropuerto internacional de Carrasco Gral. Cesáreo L. Berisso, participan de una rueda de prensa este martes a la hora 06:30 en esa terminal aérea, en coincidencia con el arribo a Montevideo del primer vuelo procedente de Bogotá de esa aerolínea de origen colombiano.

Para esta nueva ruta con vuelos directos cada día, Avianca dispondrá de aviones Airbus 319, con capacidad para 120 pasajeros, y se pondrán a disposición de los viajeros 1.680 asientos semanales, había adelantado la gerente comercial de la aerolínea, Carla Calvete, en oportunidad del anuncio al respecto del 2 de marzo en la sede del Ministerio de Transporte.

“Uruguay necesita no solo recuperar la conectividad, sino procurar avanzar en el camino de multiplicar las opciones ofrecidas en materia aérea a los uruguayos y a los visitantes a nuestro país. De modo que, a los hub (centros de distribución de pasajeros) tradicionales de Buenos Aires, San Pablo y Río de Janeiro, ya se les sumó Lima y ahora Bogotá”, dijo Rossi.

“Tenemos la necesidad y la oportunidad de incrementar conexiones con otras poblaciones a las cuales no tenemos acceso directo, y podemos avanzar en esa dirección, completando servicios, aumentando las conexiones y las posibilidades de combinaciones”, confió.

Rossi recordó que el cierre de Pluna en 2012 disminuyó de forma sustancial la cantidad de pasajeros que transitaban por el aeropuerto de Carrasco. No obstante, indicó que en los últimos años ha aumentado este indicador (en 1,9 millones en 2016), y manifestó que confía en un aumento aún mayor. “En el correr de este año, esperamos que haya nuevos anuncios de conexiones” que se sumen a la malla de vuelos regionales, expresó.

Por su parte, Kechichian dijo que la nueva ruta responde a “una política ministerial de comenzar a conquistar visitantes de la zona costera del océano Pacífico, como Perú, México y la propia Colombia”. En Bogotá, esta cartera ha promocionado a Uruguay en forma ininterrumpida en una de las principales ferias del sector de América Latina, como es la Vitrina Turística, organizada por la Asociación Colombiana de Agencias de Viajes y Turismo (Anato).
