Airlink inauguró la ruta entre Windhoek y la Isla Santa Elena en el Océano Atlántico
Airlink emprendió un “vuelo de prueba” de Windhoek en Namibia a la Isla Santa Elena empleando Embraer E-190 IGW, de peso incrementedo. El vuelo tomó casi cuatro horas. La aerolínea no confirmaría el número de personas en este vuelo. El vuelo de regreso se realizará mañana y volver tarde en la noche a Johannesburgo, Sudáfrica.
La distancia de vuelo está bien dentro de las capacidades del E-190. El vuelo fue de 2.532 KM en comparación con el rango de capacidad de aproximadamente 4.500KM. A pesar de que el E-190 debe ser capaz de manejar el vuelo desde Johannesburgo sin escalas (2,290NM), Johannesbourg (JNB) es caliente y alta y los márgenes podrían ser demasiado pequeños. La parada técnica en Windhoek (WDH) para el combustible es un movimiento cauteloso.

Airlink undertook a “test flight” from Windhoek in Namibia to Santa Elena Island using Embraer E-190 IGW, of increased weight. The flight took almost four hours. The airline would not confirm the number of people on this flight. The return flight will be made tomorrow and return late at night to Johannesburg, South Africa.
The flight distance is well within the capabilities of the E-190. The flight was 2,532 KM compared to the capacity range of approximately 4,500KM. Although the E-190 should be able to handle the flight from Johannesburg without stopovers (2,290NM), Johannesburg (JNB) is hot and high and the margins could be too small. The technical stop in Windhoek (WDH) for fuel is a cautious move.
Island residents should be happy to see their expensive airport being used. Once the flights start with a regular schedule, tourism to the island should thrive. It is undoubtedly one of the last virgin sites with unique flora and fauna on the planet. A \ W
