KLM Royal Dutch Airlines ampliará su red de vuelos hacia África a partir del próximo 30 de octubre de 2016, al abrir una nueva ruta a Windhoek, Namibia. El horario de los tres vuelos de KLM ya existentes hacia Luanda (Angola) se adaptará ligeramente para poder volar a Windhoek y regresar tras una corta parada.

Los vuelos hacia Luanda y Windhoek se operarán con aparatos Airbus 330-200 con 243 plazas. El vuelo KL0575 despegará los martes, viernes y domingos a las 22.45h desde Ámsterdam y llegará al día siguiente a Luanda a las 7.30h (hora local). El vuelo continuará su recorrido despegando a las 8.45h (hora local) hacia Windhoek, llegando a las 12.15h (hora local) a su destino. El vuelo de regreso, KL0576, despegará los miércoles, sábados y lunes de Windhoek a las 17.40h (hora local) y aterrizará en Luanda a las 19.15h (hora local). Posteriormente el vuelo despegará de Luanda a las 20.40h (hora local) y llegará a Ámsterdam al día siguiente a las 5.20h.

KLM expands its flight network with a new route to Namibia

Scheduled Flights to Cuba From U.S.

JetBlue on Wednesday morning became the first American airline carrier to fly scheduled service to Cuba in more than 50 years. The 9:45 a.m. flight to Santa Clara took off amid live Cuban music, fresh guava pastries and a gaggle of reporters and dignitaries.

Erik Díaz Oliva, 41, choked back tears as he described the significance of flying on the first scheduled flight to his home country after eight years away.

“I got here at 5 a.m. and was the first to check in; everyone started to cheer!” Mr. Díaz said. “To the people who say these flights don’t help: Yes, it does help. It opens Cuba to the world.”

The scheduled air service was the latest in a string of important changes between the nations since President Obama decided in 2014 to restore diplomatic relations with Cuba. Embassies were opened, direct mail service was restored and Carnival Cruise Line ships have sailed to Cuba.

Other moves, like ferry service and the building in Cuba of an American company’s tractor assembly plant, were authorized by the Obama administration, but were stalled by the Cuban government.

“Today opens the door to further exchange between the American people and the Cuban people,” Anthony Foxx, the United States transportation secretary, said in an interview. “We think that’s ultimately good for the expansion of freedom and democracy.”

Mr. Foxx was among the inaugural flight’s 150 passengers. Six airlines have been approved for flights to nine Cuban cities, but not all of them have announced their schedules. Mr. Foxx said far more airlines had expressed interest in flying to Havana, the capital, than could be accommodated. “I haven’t seen anything like it,” he said.

Calling it “good pressure,” Mr. Foxx acknowledged that Cuba would have to improve its airport infrastructure to be able to handle the increased flow of airlines. The country is notorious for poor airport facilities, and passengers often endure hourslong waits because baggage carousels or staircases for disembarking are tied up.

José Ramón Cabañas Rodríguez, Cuba’s ambassador to the United States, said the country’s 10 international airports were safe and secure. He added that the flight on Wednesday was yet another first for the two countries announced in the past few months.

“We hope that in the near future, all remaining obstacles that limit further exchange between the two countries will be removed,” he said.

For passengers, the difference will be immense. Until now, people flying to Cuba had to book charter flights, which meant passengers had to arrive at the airport four hours before takeoff and were charged steep fees for luggage. Prices were high, lines were long and flights were often hours late. The document review process was time-consuming, and passengers stood in separate lines to check in, check bags, have bags weighed and pay for the checked luggage.

“The last time I went to Cuba, I paid $300 or $400 just for the luggage — absurd!” said Yosleidys Rodríguez, 39, who left Cuba less than two years ago for South Florida. “This is the best thing that could have happened.”

Now customers who qualify under the 12 authorized categories approved for travel can book flights directly on an airline’s website, and many have paid fares as low as $99 each way.

JetBlue expects to have up to seven daily flights to Cuba, although most of them will go to cities other than Havana, like Holguín and Camagüey. They are set to begin in the fall.

Silver Airways, a commuter airline, on Thursday will begin offering three weekly flights to Santa Clara, and later this year will start flights to Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba, Cayo Coco, Varadero, Cayo Largo and Manzanillo. American Airlines begins service on Sept. 7 to Cienfuegos and Holguín, and will expand to three more Cuban cities later in the year.

Frontier Airlines, Sun Country Airlines and Southwest Airlines have also been approved for flights.

The Department of Transportation is expected to announce on Wednesday afternoon which airlines will fly to Havana.

Although the number of Americans flying to Cuba has been steadily increasing, experts say it is unlikely that the market will be able to bear such an abundance of seats.

“There’s going to be a lot of seats on the market,” said Michael Zuccato of Cuba Travel Services, a charter company whose business is in peril now that consumers can book directly with airlines. “I do not believe the flights are going to be full.”

Marty St. George, the executive vice president of JetBlue, said the airline expected brisk business, particularly among Cubans visiting their families.

“We do think it’s an important part of history,” Mr. St. George said. “From a challenge perspective, we know the drill. Cuba has some unique elements because of 50 years of history between the U.S. and Cuba, but we’re ready to go.” A\W

A partir de este jueves habrá dos vuelos diarios entre la ciudad de Santa Fe y Buenos Aires

Desde el 1 de septiembre habrá un nuevo servicio de Aerolíneas Argentinas. Saldrá de Aeroparque hacia Sauce Viejo a las 12.30, y retornará a Capital a las 14.10.

Luego del cierre de la empresa Sol Líneas Aéreas, el aeropuerto de Sauce Viejo quedó con un solo vuelo diario a Buenos Aires. Desde ese momento, se realizaron intensas gestiones desde el Estado provincial y municipal para lograr que la ciudad recupere la conectividad perdida. Finalmente, en julio se conoció la decisión de Aerolíneas Argentinas de sumar un nuevo vuelo a partir de septiembre. El mismo comenzará a operar mañana y partirá desde Aeroparque a las 12.40, arribará a Santa Fe una hora más tarde, y a las 14.10 partirá de regreso a la capital del país.

El director del aeropuerto, David Giavedoni se mostró expectante del movimiento que se pueda generar luego de que comience a funcionar un nuevo vuelo de lunes a viernes.

«Veremos cuál es el resultado, ya que si bien el horario no es muy adecuado para ir a Buenos Aires, es un vuelo más y posteriormente a las obras que se están por realizar, vamos a tener la posibilidad de ir a batallar por el vuelo nocturno», señaló, y contó que la nueva frecuencia se sumará a la ya existente en horario matutino (10.30 desde Sauce Viejo).

A su vez, Claudia Neil, subsecretaria de Turismo de la Municipalidad de Santa Fe sostuvo que «las expectativas con respecto a la nueva frecuencia son las mejores, porque se trata de un vuelo que se venía reclamando desde hace tiempo».

«Es un paso importante en la conectividad que estamos buscando para el aeropuerto, pero es solo un paso. Como ciudad, y como sector de turismo tenemos objetivos más amplios que implican además de este vuelo, tener conectividad con otros destinos», aclaró.

En esa línea remarcó como necesario encarar obras en la aeroestación para poder avanzar con las gestiones en búsqueda de más vuelos. «Queremos ir también por el balizamiento y de seguridad que hacen falta de manera urgente. El punto es que necesitamos de manera urgente las obras de modernización para que las empresas quieran operar acá», afirmó y dijo que una vez realizadas, permitirán gestionar más vuelos, e interesar a otras empresas en Santa Fe como destino.

Respecto del horario del vuelo, señaló que se pretendía algo mejor, pero que de todas maneras es importante pasar a tener dos frecuencias de lunes a viernes y que de esa manera se podrá complementar mejor con el vuelo nocturno de Aerolíneas que opera en el aeropuerto de Paraná.

Sin embargo, Neil resaltó que el nuevo horario es el primer paso de un camino que hay que seguir transitando entre el sector público y el sector privado para mejorar la conectividad de una ciudad como Santa Fe que por la cantidad de eventos que genera ha demostrado que está a la altura de las circunstancias.

«Santa Fe no solo necesita más vuelos, sino que está demostrado que todos viajan prácticamente completos, y que tenemos una demanda que no podemos satisfacer por la cantidad de eventos que la ciudad tiene», remarcó.

En tanto, el presidente del Concejo Municipal de la ciudad, Leonardo Simoniello consideró que «la incorporación de un nuevo vuelo es un avance para el área metropolitana», y agregó: «Las gestiones que hemos realizado desde el Concejo Municipal, y los encuentros mantenidos con la presidenta de Aerolíneas Argentinas, concejales, diputados nacionales e integrantes del Safetur, creemos que han sido muy importantes para llegar a este punto».

No obstante, a pesar de la nueva frecuencia, afirmó que se debe seguir insistiendo en la llegada de inversiones en obras para la aeroestación de Sauce Viejo.

«Estamos convencidos de que debemos seguir insistiendo por la llegada de inversiones en obras que jerarquicen y pongan en valor el aeropuerto, para de esta manera obtener una mayor frecuencia para potenciar la conectividad de Santa Fe y la región», reflejó.

Por su parte, Mario Zavaleta, presidente de la Asociación Empresaria Hotelera de Santa Fe recordó que en enero, a días de que deje de funcionar Sol en Santa Fe, participó junto con el intendente, y representantes de distintas instituciones de una reunión con la presidenta de Aerolíneas Argentinas Isela Constantini.

«El motivo fue la solicitud de un nuevo vuelo, y nosotros indudablemente que pretendíamos un vuelo por la noche como históricamente tuvimos. Se siguió con las tratativas y se logró este que no es el ideal, porque es un horario medio raro, pero es un complemento», expresó.

Para Zabaleta el mejor horario sería el nocturno, pero reconoció las dificultades para que esto se produzca por la decisión de la Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil de prohibir la operación de vuelos comerciales por la noche hasta que no se renueve el sistema de iluminación y balizamiento de la pista.

«Lo ideal sería que sea un poco más tarde, pero es lo que se consiguió. Veremos cómo se implementa, y démosle la bienvenida a tener un vuelo más, porque sino el aeropuerto con un solo vuelo parece abandonado», indicó.

A su vez, el presidente del Centro Comercial, Norberto Raselli manifestó que «es bueno que haya un nuevo vuelo, pero no alcanza» porque además «el horario no es el más conveniente».

Destacó también que no solo se debe pelear por los vuelos con Capital, sino que también sería importante lograr mayor conectividad con otros destinos del país. «Córdoba y el oeste del país son conectividades que hoy no tenemos y que serían necesarias para tener un aeropuerto de mayor categoría. Hoy está vacío y prácticamente no tenemos aeropuerto», resaltó.

Para continuar con el flujo de trabajo de consolidación turística de Argentina a Alagoas, la Secretaría de Desarrollo Económico y Turismo (Sedetur) ofició la conquista de un nuevo vuelo semanal a la temporada alta, que conectará la ciudad de Córdoba, dentro del país, Maceió.

Con la primera salida programada para el 8 de enero, la sección será operado por un Airbus 320, LATAM Airlines, con capacidad para 166 pasajeros. La perspectiva de que el vuelo se llevó a cabo en colaboración con la empresa operadora Tn responsables de fletamento llevado a cabo desde 2013 hasta 2014, llevando a más de tres mil pasajeros, con una ocupación del 99%.

De acuerdo con el secretario de Desarrollo Económico y Turismo, Helder Lima, el logro es el resultado de un intenso trabajo de difusión en suelo argentino.

«La mejora en la red de aire es esencial para consolidar el destino entre los turistas extranjeros. Estamos trabajando estratégicamente, la divulgación de Alagoas en los principales mercados. En Argentina, por ejemplo, hicimos de formación dirigido a los agentes de viajes, para transmitir la información que mejoran las ventas de paquetes al destino, y la promoción de sorteos en los vehículos de comunicación y el sello de la belleza natural del estado en zonas de alto tráfico de personas, como los pasos subterráneos de las ciudades «, dijo Helder Lima.

Com a primeira saída prevista para o dia 8 de janeiro, o trecho será operado por uma aeronave Airbus 320, da Latam Linhas Aéreas, com capacidade para 166 passageiros. A prospecção do voo foi empreendida em parceria com a empresa Tn Operador, responsável pelo fretamento realizado no período de 2013 a 2014, transportando mais de três mil passageiros, com ocupação de 99%.

De acordo com o secretário de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Turismo, Helder Lima, a conquista é resultado de um intenso trabalho de divulgação em solo argentino.

“A melhoria na malha aérea é fundamental para consolidar o destino entre os turistas estrangeiros. Estamos trabalhando, de maneira estratégica, a divulgação de Alagoas nos principais mercados emissores. Na Argentina, por exemplo, fizemos capacitações destinadas aos agentes de viagens, para transmitir informações que potencializem as vendas de pacotes para o destino, além de promover sorteios em veículos de comunicação e estampar as belezas naturais do Estado em espaços de alta circulação de pessoas, como os metrôs das cidades”, destaca Helder Lima.

Teniendo en cuenta el Código de Protección al Consumidor, el segundo panel de la Corte Superior de Justicia (STJ) rechazó por unanimidad presentar Gol Linhas Aereas contra la decisión del Tribunal Acre (TJ-AC) que impidió a la empresa a cancelar vuelos destino o procedentes de Cruzeiro do Sul (AC).

El enjuiciamiento de Acre (MP-CA) presentó una acción civil contra la compañía después de una serie de cancelaciones de vuelos injustificadas. La ciudad de Cruzeiro do Sul es el punto más al oeste del país, y en algunos períodos del año, el único acceso a la ciudad es por vía aérea.

La primera y segunda instancias de decisiones prohibidos Gol para cancelar vuelos en la ruta sin una justificación técnica insuperable (no a la obligación condena). Además, determinaron la comunicación expresada cuando se justificaba caso de cancelación del viaje.

La función de relator, Humberto Martins, explicó que mediante la celebración de los caminos, la empresa asume la responsabilidad de proporcionar el servicio que se ofrece, tanto en las rutas rentables, tales como aquellos con pocos pasajeros, así como la cuestión examinada.

American Airlines tendrá 56 vuelos comerciales semanales desde Miami y JetBlue comenzará sus operaciones el 31 de agosto

La aerolínea estadounidense American Airlines informó hoy de que el Gobierno cubano les autorizó esta semana 56 vuelos comerciales semanales de Miami a cinco ciudades de la isla, los cuales comenzarán a partir del próximo 7 de septiembre.

Martha Pantin, portavoz de American Airlines, precisó que se trata de un vuelo diario a Cienfuegos y Camagüey, y dos al día a Holguín, Santa Clara y Varadero.

Sin embargo, JetBlue tiene previsto para el próximo 31 de agosto el vuelo inaugural a la isla, entre Fort Lauderdale y Santa Clara, tras más de cincuenta años de enemistad entre ambas naciones.

Será el primer vuelo comercial entre ambos países después de la normalización de las relaciones diplomáticas entre Cuba y EE.UU. que comenzó en diciembre de 2014 y se concretó en julio de 2015, cuando las secciones de intereses en Washington y La Habana comenzaron a funcionar como embajadas.

La compañía TAR (Transportes Aéreos Regionales) iniciará en 2017 operaciones hacia Centroamérica para conectar a México directo y sin escalas con destinos como Cuba, República Dominicana, Jamaica, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica y Panamá.

La finalidad es vincular a la zona maya mexicana con las islas del Caribe y América Central para que los visitantes europeos no tengan que desplazarse hacia la capital del país para conectar con Centroamérica (Centroamérica vive un ‘boom’ con la llegada de nuevas aerolíneas).

Rodrigo Vásquez Colmenares, director general de TAR Aerolíneas, expone que “estas nuevas rutas dotarán al Mundo Maya mexicano de circuitos para turismo de placer y de negocios, lo que significa que ampliará sus horizontes”.

El directivo reafirmó que a partir del mes de octubre la línea aérea inaugurará su primera ruta hacia los Estados Unidos, conectando a Querétaro con San Antonio, Texas, y a partir del 2017 extenderá las operaciones hacia Phoenix, Tucson y Los Ángeles.

TAR también se une al programa de la Sectur “Viajemos todos por México” para apoyar el turismo social. Para ello han firmado convenios con los gobiernos de Guerrero, Querétaro, Sonora y con todos los estados con los cuales tienen operaciones para poder hacer uso de estos asientos en favor de los proyectos que incentiven el turismo doméstico.

A fin de mes se decide si habrá vuelos hacia Temuco. El ministro de Producción y Turismo, José Brillo, viajará a Chile a una reunión el 30 y 31 de agosto próximos. A fin de año podrían operar los aviones por LATAM o American Jet.

La ruta aérea Neuquén-Temuco comienza a definir su futuro. A fin de mes se realizará una reunión bilateral en la ciudad chilena donde podría decidirse qué firma será la que vuele entre las dos regiones.

Hasta el momento, las empresas American Jet y Aerolíneas DAP son las postulantes con mayores posibilidades de quedarse con el negocio, de acuerdo con las negociaciones que se llevan adelante.

Una vez definida la operadora aérea, se prevé que los primeros vuelos comiencen a tener sus primeras pruebas en tres meses para ser operativos antes de fin de año.

El costo del pasaje, ida y vuelta, entre los destinos costará unos 290 dólares, es decir, alrededor de 4200 pesos al cambio actual. A principio de año se estimaba alrededor de 280 dólares.

Si bien para muchos puede ser costoso, hoy existe un mercado de viajeros a Chile, no sólo por las compras a un costo menor que Argentina, sino por la cantidad de gente que visita familiares históricamente en la ciudad trasandina.

Boom de las compras
La capital de la IX Región se convirtió en un atractivo tour de compras para los neuquinos, aunque los chilenos buscan promover la oferta gastronómica y turística.

Luego de su gira por Italia para acompañar a empresarios locales en la promoción de sus productos, el ministro de Producción y Turismo, José Brillo, viajará a Chile para asistir a la reunión en Temuco el 30 y 31 de agosto próximo.

La Provincia de Neuquén cuenta desde junio con más vuelos y conexiones con el resto del país, luego del regreso de LADE y al nuevo vuelo que incorporó LATAM (ex LAN).

Brillo ya adelantó la intención de la Provincia de activar rutas hacia San Pablo, Brasil, y otros destinos del Mercosur para potenciar el mercado turístico.

Capital Airlines (China) obtuvo la aprobación regulatoria de la Agencia Canadiense de Transporte para iniciar vuelos regulares a Canadá.

Como tal, de acuerdo con la ruta de la aerolínea, los Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) filial comenzará una semana Hangzhou 3x a través de Qingdao a Vancouver Int’l servicio en vigor en diciembre 30 del presente año. Las operaciones son los equipos a bordo A330-200.

En la actualidad, la red de largo radio de Capital Airlines implica servicios a Madrid Barajas, España y Melbourne Tullamarine, Australia. 

China’s Capital Airlines to start North America ops in 4Q
