Primer ARJ21 para TransNusa Airlines

COMAC entrega ARJ21 a TransNusa Airlines

AW-TransNusa Airlines__Isologotype

First ARJ21 for TransNusa Airlines

COMAC delivers ARJ21 to TransNusa Airlines

COMAC_Isologotype

State-run COMAC Corp. (Commercial Aviation Corporation of China) has made the first overseas delivery of its ARJ21 jet to Indonesia’s TransNusa Airlines, state media reported on Sunday. The first Chinese aircraft to enter the foreign market. The 90-seat regional jet is well-suited to the needs of Indonesia’s fast-growing aviation market that serves many islands. China’s homegrown regional jet, the COMAC ARJ21, has officially entered international markets with which the manufacturer delivered the aircraft to its first foreign customer, Indonesian regional airline TransNusa. The delivery portfolio reaches almost one hundred ARJ21 aircraft delivered to customers since the aircraft entered commercial operation in 2016.

The first COMAC ARJ 21-700 aircraft has been delivered to TransNusa Airlines painted in blue, yellow and green, the colors of TransNusa, registered PK-TJA, MSN 186 and configured with 95 seats in Economy class. The regional aircraft’s flight range of 2,225 to 3,700 kilometers (1,382nm/2,300nmi) will assist TransNusa’s domestic and regional routes and is the first of two aircraft to be delivered between December 2022 and January 2023. The Indonesian national airline has a total order for thirty COMAC ARJ 21-700 (30) to be delivered until 2026.

The new aircraft were selected by China’s Everbright Group, which was looking for thirty COMAC ARJ 21-700s and had the option of adding another thirty options. The plan was for the regional aircraft to be leased through AVIC Leasing to TransNusa as part of the airline’s fleet expansion.

TransNusa primarily serves the Indonesian domestic market. The airline currently owns three Airbus A320-200s in its fleet with A320-200CEO (2) and A320-200NEO (2) leased to aircraft lessors. A fourth A320NEO narrowbody is due soon. The average age of the fleet is twelve years. However, the Indonesian aviation market has been booming in recent years, and the airline was looking to expand its fleet and transition from a regional airline to a low-cost carrier. Deliveries of all COMAC ARJ21-700s are expected to be completed by 2026.

COMAC grows Asia

The first international delivery is a notable milestone for the state-backed COMAC and it is unlikely to be the last, although the timetable for such growth will be relatively slow. But regardless, COMAC still has tricks that allow it to threaten the Airbus-Boeing duopoly, with its new narrowbody C919. Although yet to make any international appearances, the first of the highly anticipated single-aisle aircraft has finally been delivered for launch to customer China Eastern Airlines in early December 2022. With the first delivery made, COMAC has to subsequently meet the hundreds of remaining orders from various Chinese airlines and state-owned aircraft leasing companies. So the C919 is quite the domestic hat trick for the planemaker looking to upstage the Airbus-Boeing duopoly in the Asian region.

The huge Chinese domestic market is significantly productive for the aviation industry. The C919 will garner adequate sales allowing the aircraft’s popularity and reputation to mature enough to spread to international markets for foreign low-cost or even full-cost airlines. This would take a long time, but enough timeline for COMAC to come up with accurate and sustainable interpretations of the aircraft, such as the way the Airbus A320NEO family has been evolving. Similar to how the COMAC ARJ21-700 was delivered to TransNusa, the possibility of Indonesian, African or even Russian carriers being customers of the regional jets or the C919 is there and should not be dismissed so easily. And if there is one definitive result, it is that COMAC itself should not be underestimated as an aircraft manufacturer.

ARJ21 pertama untuk TransNusa

COMAC mengantarkan ARJ21 ke TransNusa Airlines

AW-TransNusa LinkAsia

COMAC Corp.

TransNusa terutama melayani pasar domestik Indonesia.

Lufthansa certified as STC

Lufthansa Technik AeroSHARK certified for Boeing 777

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has awarded Lufthansa Technik the so-called Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) which officially paves the way for the serial modification of two Boeing 777 variants with the saving AeroSHARK riblet films made out of fuel.

Through the STC, the subfleet-wide deployment of this sustainability technology, jointly developed by Lufthansa Technik and BASF, can now begin at launch customers Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS). The next modification stops in Frankfurt and Zurich are scheduled for early January 2023.

Due to its special surface structure of microscopic ribs, AeroSHARK reduces the frictional resistance of the aircraft skin. As a result, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are reduced by approximately 1%. For every Boeing 777-300ER operated by SWISS, this means annual savings of around 400 tons of kerosene and more than 1,200 tons of carbon dioxide. The slightly shorter Boeing 777F saves around 370 tons of fuel and 1,170 tons of CO2 every year.

A first Boeing 777-300ER of the Swiss airline (HB-JNH) equipped with AeroSHARK, which also completed the flight test program for the now received certification, had already started daily operations in October using a temporary “Permit to Fly”. from the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Aviation (FOCA) that was valid only for this aircraft. The STC issued by EASA now allows Lufthansa Technik to serially apply the nature-inspired riblet films to any Boeing 777-300ER and 777F aircraft.

The AeroSHARK modification of HB-JNH already started at the end of August and culminated in the so-called STC flights with EASA on 8 and 9 September. During these flights, detailed proof had to be provided that the AeroSHARK modification did not have a negative impact on the operational safety and handling of the Boeing 777. The STC flight was followed by several weeks of evaluation of the collected data and other documents, such as measured values from flow simulations. After recently completing its review of all submitted documents, EASA finally granted the STC.

SWISS and Lufthansa Cargo will successively equip their twelve 777-300ERs and eleven 777Fs with AeroSHARK. Thus, they will be the first passenger and cargo airlines worldwide to optimize an entire sub-fleet with riblet films. Once all Lufthansa Cargo and SWISS Boeing 777s have received their AeroSHARK modification, they will reduce the Lufthansa Group’s carbon footprint by more than 25,000 tonnes per year.

Lufthansa Technik and BASF intend to constantly develop the AeroSHARK for additional aircraft types and larger surfaces, so that they can help airlines around the world to achieve their emissions targets in the future. In the model’s initial calculations, sharkskin technology at its peak stage could even prevent CO2 emissions on the scale of up to 3%.

Miami incrementa vuelos

AW | 2022 12 16 13:16 | AIRPORTS / AIRLINES

Miami increases flights

Miami announced seven new international flights
Miami will offer 176 direct international destinations

Miami International Airport/MIA has announced the addition of seven new international flights to five countries, increasing the number of flights at the busiest airport in the United States. The airlines that operate at the Miami International Airport will add and/or re-establish seven international direct flights to the existing offer to new destinations in France, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Brazil and Canada.

As of this end of the year 2022, the low-cost French airline, French Bee, will begin to operate three times a week (3Frq/S) a direct flight between Miami/MIA and the Paris-Orly/ORY Airport in Paris. This is the first direct flight from Miami to that airport in the French capital. Seasonal flights are scheduled between December 2022 and January 2023 for around US$650, well below the price of other direct flights between Miami and Paris operated by American Airlines and Air France.

The Colombian airline Avianca has a strong presence at the Miami Airport, but it will expand its offer. Since the beginning of the month, Avianca has added direct flights to Bucaramanga, in Colombia, three times a week (3Frq/S), to Santa Marta, twice a week (2Frq/S), and to Pereira, four times a week ( 4Frq/S). With these additions, there are direct flights from Miami to nine destinations in Colombia. The South American country was until 2019, before the pandemic, the most frequent international destination from Miami. From the Dominican Republic, Sky High Airlines will begin its first international trips four times a week, connecting Miami with Santo Domingo. Next weekend, the airline GOL Linhas Aéreas will offer a flight that had been canceled again. The route joins Miami with Manaus, in the Brazilian Amazon. Thus, Miami is linked directly by air to five cities in Brazil. This country was the second most popular international destination since Miami before the pandemic. Finally, Air Canada will also begin operating a flight to Vancouver, Canada, three times a week (3Frq/S) this coming weekend.

Miami Airport has had an impressive recovery since the pandemic. With the seven new routes, Miami will offer 176 international destinations, nine more destinations than in 2019 before the COVID-19 closures. The airport is on track to break its own record, closing a year with fifty million passengers.

Delta eleva perspectivas ganancias

AW | 2022 12 15 11:02 | AIRLINES

Incremento perspectivas ganancias ante debilitamiento demanda

Delta_Isoglotype_Intersected

Delta raises earnings outlook

Profit prospects increase due to weakening demand

AW-Delta_700023

Delta Air Lines raised its earnings outlook for the fourth quarter (4Q2022) but trimmed the top end of a revenue forecast, maintaining a bullish travel forecast even as smaller airlines see weakening demand. The largest U.S. airline by market capitalization updated its fourth-quarter projection and full-year outlook for 2022 through 2024 in a statement Wednesday, ahead of executive presentations at an investor day event in New York.

Both Delta Air Lines Inc. and United Airlines Holdings Inc. expect continued expansion despite the risk of recession next year. Atlanta-based Delta CEO Ed Bastian has said a weak economy is unlikely to affect pent-up travel demand. United CEO Scott Kirby said his company projects a mild recession in the United States next year, but reiterated Tuesday that he is not seeing weakening travel demand.

But smaller airlines aren’t so sure. JetBlue Airways raised questions about the strength of demand on Tuesday, sending its shares down 7.7%. Similarly, Alaska Air lowered its fourth-quarter revenue forecast, noting «a modest weakening in corporate travel bookings» and Spirit Airlines slightly lowered its capacity forecast for the quarter due to the impact of Hurricane Nicole.

Narrower income range

Delta Air Lines expects fourth-quarter adjusted earnings of between Delta eleva perspectivas ganancias US$ 1.35 and US$ 1.40 per share, up from a previous high of as much as US$ 1.25 and exceeding the US$ 1.15 expected by analysts. Revenue will increase 7% to 8% this quarter, compared to a range of 5% to 9% previously. Full-year earnings will be up to US$ 3.12 per share, compared with $2.89 in analyst estimates, while revenue excluding the airline’s refinery will be up to US$ 45,600. millions of dollars. «Demand for air travel remains robust», Ed Bastian said in the statement.

The airline expects 2023 earnings of up to US$ 6 per share and sales growth of up to 20% this year, with an operating margin of 10% to 12%. The non-fuel costs to fly each seat one mile, a proxy for efficiency, will drop as much as 7% next year from 2022, but will still be 10-12% higher than pre-August levels. the pandemic in 2019.

Delta also said it remains on track to meet 2024 targets, disclosed last year, of earnings per share of more than $7 and at least $4 billion in free cash flow. The airline reiterated its plan to have flight capacity, cut off during the pandemic, fully restored during 2023.
