Gremios irían a huelga en Argentina

AW-70089771

AW | 2017 10 06 11:06 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Gremios will strike in Argentina

The failure in the joint ventures with Aerolíneas Argentinas and Intercargo, guilds anticipate strikes at all airports

The five unions that integrate the aeronautical activity in Argentina has announced the force measures to recompose the official salary proposal. The companies offer a raise of 16% for 2018, while the organizations aspire to a minimum of 24%. Guilds could paralyze all airports.

In the Argentine State, the idea prevails that the request for a salary increase in the aeronautical sector is high and unjustified. In the path of the guilds, the belief is that the Ministries of Labor and Transportation use the parity of this item to be strong and inflexible. They also maintain that it is part of the disciplinary strategy that the Government wants to deploy to other branches of activity, with a view to the post-electoral scenario of October.

Thus, after several weeks of negotiations, the directive board of state airlines and the firm Intercargo (which controls almost all the service of ramps, baggage and airport transfers in Argentina) decided to «stand.» Specifically, he told the leaders of APTA, APA, UPSA, APLA and UALA that he will only qualify for a salary increase of 16%.

But, in addition, sources of Aerolineas Argentinas said that the proposal includes a «trigger clause» and a non-remunerative bond, to ensure that all workers will not see reduced purchasing power of their wages. However, trade unions demand increases of at least 24%.

In that context, the organizations have already begun to outline a plan of force measures in order to break the official position. The guilds argue that «it was avoided to arrive at the collision by all roads». They indicated that there was an extension of five days (after the end of the official negotiation time) for Aerolíneas, Austral and Intercargo, to review their inflexible position. «Despite this, they remained impassive at all times,» they added.

Among the specialists in the area, there are coincidences that, in the absence of significant changes in the dialogue, the first stoppages and interruptions in airport services will take shape over the next 72 hours. «They are provoking us to go to a conflict and this is what will end up happening,» said Hugo Perosa, a reference of the Association of Aeronautical Personnel (APA). «We ask for the extension of the conciliation to continue negotiating and yet the employers did not change their position. All the guilds agree to respond with measures of force, although it remains to define how it will be done,» he added.

The real magnitude of the conflict will be exposed over the course of the weekend. Almost as a tradition, the possibility of a large-scale strike again puts in suspense the operation of one of the services that shows greater projection. Passengers, as usual, will again be in the middle of a battle still open ended. A \ W

Comisión de Regulación de la Aviación

AW | 2017 10 06 10:26 | AIRPORTS / AIR TRAFFIC

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Aviation Regulatory Commission

Airlines that persistently operate flights outside the allocated slots at Dublin airport face large fines under a new system of sanctions

Under the new rules, introduced by the aviation regulator, carriers could be penalized for up to € 3,000 for each time they fail to meet scheduled flight times. The Aviation Regulatory Commission will also publish details of future fines, a measure strongly opposed by some airlines.

In the future, the regulator will be empowered to impose a fine for each occasion when an aircraft operates at a significantly different time from its assigned slot after an initial warning after the first violation.

However, fines can only be issued after «evidence» has been accumulated to demonstrate that violations are repeated and intentional.

The regulator said the airlines could only be issued today with a single fine of 3,000 euros, regardless of the number of breaches of the slots. «There is little incentive to change behavior if an operator believes he will be fined € 3,000 independently,» a commission spokesman said. The regulator said that the new system of penalties per incident was «proportional and dissuasive.»

In the United Kingdom, Easyjet received a fine of £ 1.1 million (£ 1.3 million) in the 2016/17 season for failing to comply with slot allocations. The company said it has had to increase a growing number of consultations with airlines using Dublin airport over its flight operations in recent years.

ACL, the coordinator of slot allocations at Dublin Airport, welcomed the changes as it stated that the existing approach was not a sufficient deterrent against repeated or repeated abuse of slot operations.

ACL said that only a fine has been issued since Dublin airport was designated as a coordinated airport in 2007 to control a flight increase especially at peak times. ACL said the fine appeared to have no impact as the airline continued to fly later outside the allotted times. An airline may not operate at a coordinated airport in the absence of a strip assigned by the airport coordinator.

The need for coordination of slots in Dublin has grown with the airport planned to exceed 30 million passengers this year. In its busiest times, the airport is handling up to 47 takeoffs and landings per hour. Many airlines, including Aer Lingus and Cityjet, have opposed the new system of fines that has the support of the Irish Aviation Authority.

The DAA, formerly known as the Dublin Airport Authority, expressed concern that it would lead to excessive fines and urged the regulator to set an annual cap on the maximum amount that an airline could be penalized for. However, the commission said an annual cap was not «desirable or appropriate». He also said he would publish details of the uncontested sanctions, as it would provide an additional incentive for airlines to comply with slot allocations. A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Iberia opens process selection new pilots

Iberia seeks pilots for 2018 due to the arrival of new generation aircraft A320NEO and A350-900

Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España announced this Friday the opening of a process of selection of new pilots, whose first test will be held on October 18, 2017.

The airline Iberia on its website https://iberia.aplygo.com/seleccionpilotos/ reports all the details of the call. Some of the basic requirements to be submitted are a language proficiency certificate in English and Spanish (with minimum levels of 4 and 6 respectively) as well as a certificate of aeronautical history free from incidents or accidents. Iberia explains in a note that these new aircraft require specific and intense training processes, which implies «training and changes of function» from seconds to commanders.

The need to incorporate new pilots responds to the process of renewal of the fleet that the company is experiencing. The first aircraft of the Airbus A320NEO and A350-900 models, which will arrive in 2018, require specific and intense training processes, Iberia reported.

Also, the movement of crew from one fleet to another planned by the airline entails «training needs», in addition to «second function changes to commanders.» Among the knowledge and skills to be assessed, together with the fulfillment of the basic requirements, are university studies, vocational training and glider pilot or acrobatic flight license. Iberia contemplates the renewal of the fleet that will generate new crew requirements and will open an opportunity for those who want to opt to work in the airline.

Iberia and the workers’ representatives agreed a little more than a month ago a new voluntary employment regulation (ERE), valid until December 31, 2019 and that can affect a maximum of 955 workers, 70 of them drivers . A \ W

Boeing inicia producción B737-7 MAX

AW | 2017 10 06 01:37 | INDUSTRY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Boeing starts production Boeing 737-7 MAX

Boeing-Company-LogoBoeing workers have begun building components for the 737-7 MAX

The Boeing 737-7 MAX is the third of five major variants planned for the narrowbody, the company announced Oct. 4. It is the smallest model in the MAX family. In the transcuso of the line of the history of this series has happened to increase its size and specific weights. He has added two frames in his redesign, one in front of the wing plane and the other one behind the wing plane. This change allowed Boeing to make the 737-7 a more attractive aircraft for the airlines.

Manufacture of the Boeing 737-7 MAX

The 19.8m (65ft) wing foreground for the 737-7 entered Boeing’s production system this week at the Renton industrial complex in Washington. With the CFM International Leap-1B engines and Advanced Technology winglets, Boeing lists the 737-7 with a maximum range of 3,825nm (7,080km). With a list price of $ 90 million, the seating capacity for the 737-7 ranges from 138 in a typical two-class design or up to 172 in a single-class high density configuration.

«The MAX 7 is an important part of the MAX family, especially as it provides airlines with the widest variety of any new single-aisle aircraft on the market,» said Keith Leverkuhn, Boeing vice president and general manager of the 737 MAX.

Although the total 737 MAX family has attracted more than 3,900 firm orders, demand for the 737-7 is significantly weaker despite a small redesign last year that extended the fuselage.

The 737-7 has collected 65 firm orders from four customers, but Southwest and WestJet combine for 55. Canadian airline Jetlines and Air Lease Corp split orders for the remaining 10. The entry into service is scheduled for January 2019 with the launch operator Southwest Airlines.

In addition to the 737-7, Boeing has already begun delivering the 737-8. The 737-9 is scheduled to enter service next year, followed by the 737-8 MAX 200 in 2019. The 737-10 is scheduled to go into service in 2020. A \ W

El crecimiento de la industria China

AW | 2017 10 06 00:57 | INDUSTRY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

The growth of China’s industry

Resultado de imagen para ARJ-21 assembly lineChina’s bid to become a major player in the global aerospace industry is moving forward, with the recent certification of the ARJ-21. Mass production has begun and the Chinese Commercial Aviation Corporation, or COMAC, reports that it already has 413 orders for 19 ARJ-21 customers.

Deputy Director General of China’s Ministry of Industry Yang Shuanchang said the aircraft will serve as a model for the development of similar prototypes such as the C-919, which is expected to be submitted for certification in 2019. Industry observers say the actual mettle test will be the pending C-919 certification.

Resultado de imagen para dragon chinaA United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification has to be granted as a precondition for any aircraft to enter the intensively competitive global aviation market. Boeing and Airbus initially stood up to potential competition from China, in part because the Chinese government has a record of investing heavily in state-owned enterprises. However, these fears were somewhat dissipated because, despite these investments, ARJ-21 has taken a decade more than anticipated due to the serious problems that arose during the testing phase, questioning the China’s ability to compete.

MD-80 «Frankenstein»

Initial problems with the ARJ-21 included aircraft and cracks in the wings. For example, in the first static tests, the wings were broken or cracked when they were under pressure before reaching the average pressure point set by the regulators. Because of this, the CAAC limited the aircraft’s flight envelope during the test program. In addition, the tests discovered faulty wiring. Ice tests and shutdown speeds were also postponed. Perpetual problems led airmen to refer to the ARJ-21 as an MD-80 «Frankenstein».

Is China’s ARJ-21 a copy of the MD-80 or is it the beginning of China’s rise in commercial aviation? The ARJ-21 is a «western model». It is partially built on the specifications of the old MD-80, thanks to the presence of US manufacturers in China. McDonnell Douglas operated an MD-80 manufacturing plant in Shaghai prior to its merger with Boeing, thanks to a lucrative business signed in the early 1990s. During this time period, presses and other parts were shipped from the United States to the installation of Douglas. This gave the Chinese access to Western technology.

Once Boeing merged with McDonnell Douglas, production of the MD-80 ceased, marking the end of an era. After abandoning the MD-80 and MD-90 final assembly lines in China, Aviation Industrial Company inherited the McDonnell Douglas tools.

China announces air regional project

It was not long before China announced its «new» regional aircraft project, revealing a design that was strangely similar to the MD-80 design. COMAC officials in Shanghai vehemently defend the ARJ-21 as an original design. However, despite COMAC’s protests on the contrary, it is commonly accepted that the ARJ-21 is fundamentally a redesign of the DC-9. There is general industry-wide consensus that ARJ-21 is an incarnation of the MD-80, especially since the early phase of the ARJ-21 life cycle that began after Boeing made an agreement with COMAC to make a more large of the MD-87.

The ARJ-21 was originally launched in 2002. It is essentially an MD-80 reengineering with a body reduced to regional jet dimensions. It has a new wing designed by Antonov and General Electric GE CF34 turbofans. The plane, which has been haunted by the problems that led to long delays in certification and major redesigns, has a list price of about $ 30 million, which is a fraction of the cost of aircraft sold in the West. Despite the lower price tag, the ARJ-21 is significantly more expensive to operate, as it is much heavier than the traditional Western aircraft, and therefore, consumes more fuel being a more expensive aircraft to operate. Región Donetsk pruebas derribo MH-017

AW | 2017 10 05 23:47 | AVIATION SAFETY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Donetsk Region contains demolition tests of MH017

Donetsk has evidence from Malaysia Airlines МН-017 was shot down from the area controlled by Ukraine

The General Prosecutor’s Office of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk (DPRK) stated that it has new evidence that the Buk missile that knocked down the Malay Boeing 777-200ER in 2014 was launched from territory controlled by Ukraine.

On July 17, 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH-017, which was traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was hit by a missile when it was flying over the province of Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine, an area convulsed by clashes between the troops of the Ukrainian regime and the militias. None of the 298 passengers and crew, mostly Dutch, survived.

«The investigation obtained new data confirming that a missile of the Buk anti-aircraft system was launched from the vicinity of the village Zaroschenskoe in the Shajtarsk region which at the time of the air crash was under the control of the Ukrainian army,» announced the Attorney General’s Office quoted by local media.

The head of the investigation body of the Prosecutor’s Office, Román Beloús, indicated that troops from anti-aircraft missiles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may be related to the demolition of flight MH-017.

The press service of the Special Observation Mission of the OSCE confirmed Thursday that the Republic gave to the experts of the Netherlands the remains of the plane and the remains of the bodies of the deceased found recently in the place of the accident of the MH17 , the PRD representative in the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine, Denis Pushilin, previously reported. In addition, Pushilin said that «the People’s Republic of Donetsk is willing to contribute further to investigate the tragedy of the Malayan Boeing.»

The Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which brings together experts from Ukraine, the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium and Malaysia, concluded in its report on 28 September 2016 that the Malaysian aircraft was shot down with a 9M38 missile fired from the Buk anti-aircraft system from the camp located near the town of Pervomáiskoe which, according to his information, was then under the control of the Donetsk militias. They also found that the Buk anti-aircraft system was allegedly transported from Russia.

Russia called the report contradictory and preconceived and said that there is no concrete evidence to confirm the hypothesis of the international group. Russian consortium Almaz-Antey, maker of the anti-aircraft system, also said that the Malaysian plane was shot down with a missile fired from territory controlled by the Ukrainian Army.

On August 22, Russia provided the Netherlands with a set of additional data which, according to the prosecutor’s spokesman, Alexandr Kurennói, contradicts «the claims of the official inquiry into the site of the missile launch.» A \ W
