Copa Airlines incorpora primer Boeing 737-9 MAX

Copa Airlines ha incorporado el primer Boeing 737-9 MAX los cuales recibirá de manera progresiva hasta completar un pedido de 71 aeronaves para 2025, anunciaron directivos de la compañía panameña. Este avión, de 166 pasajeros, es un 40% más silencioso, capaz de consumir un 14% menos de combustible y de reducir a la mitad la emisión de gases contaminantes. La tecnología del MAX 9 es un 40% más silenciosa, mejora el consumo de combustible en 14% y emite un 50% menos de gases contaminantes.

Pedro Heilbron, Presidente Ejecutivo de Copa Airlines, manifestó que el contrato original por los 61 aviones fue por un monto de US$ 6.000 millones, aunque no especificó el monto total por los 71 aparatos. Cuatro aviones más se incorporarán a la flota este año, mientras que otros 17 comenzarán operaciones antes de acabar 2020. El resto llegarán en años posteriores de manera progresiva.

Copa Airlines, subsidiaria de Copa Holdings, miembro de la red global de aerolíneas Star Alliance, ingresa a la nueva era 737MAX con la incorporación a su flota del primer Boeing 737-9 MAX, una de las aeronaves más modernas del mercado.

El Gerente General de Aerolíneas Argentinas renunciará fines Septiembre 2018

Aerolíneas Argentinas anunció que su Gerente General, Abbott Reynal, dejará el cargo a fin de mes para retornar a la actividad privada. Cuando Abbott Reynal deje su cargo a fin de mes, será inmediatamente reemplazado por el Presidente de la compañía de bandera, Luis Malvido.

Reynal fue director financiero de Aerolíneas desde Febrero 2017 hasta fines de Septiembre 2018, cuando asumió la gerencia general de la compañía en reemplazo de Mario Dell Acqua. En octubre esa posición vacante será ocupada inmediatamente por el presidente de la compañía, Luis Malvido.

«Agradezco a Abbott el esfuerzo y el tiempo dedicados a Aerolíneas Argentinas. Durante su gestión la compañía pudo concretar una reducción del gasto que le permitió bajar a la mitad los subsidios que recibe del Estado. Y también mejoras en la operación con las que se alcanzó un record en puntualidad», dijo Malvido a través de un comunicado.

Reynal se había sumado a la gestión pública en marzo de 2016, cuando asumió como secretario de Coordinación Interministerial de la Jefatura de Gabinete. Venía de tener una exitosa carrera en el sector privado que incluyó 9 años en el banco holandés Rabobank donde ocupó cargos en Chile y EEUU, en Boston Consulting Group y Merrill Lynch.

La primera aerolínea de bandera albanesa inicia sus operaciones

Albania cuenta desde hoy con su primera compañía aérea denominada Air Albania, una empresa conjunta con capitales locales y la aerolínea turca Turkish Airlines. El inicio de las operaciones comerciales de Air Albania comenzaron hoy desde el Aeropuerto Internacional Madre Teresa, de Tirana la capital de Albania.

«Es algo muy especial para mi. Cumplimos un viejo sueño que parecía imposible durante muchos años», declaró el Primer Ministro, Edi Rama, en la ceremonia de inauguración de la nueva aerolínea albanesa. El jefe del gobierno albanés agradeció al presidente turco, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, su iniciativa y generoso apoyo.

Air Albania dispone de un capital inicial de US$ 30 millones de dólares, con la participación de Turkish Airlines con un 49% y de la empresa privada albanesa MDN Investment Shpk, con un 41%. El 10% restante pertenece al Estado albanés a través de Albcontrol, que gestiona y controla el espacio aéreo del país.
