Aerolínas Argentinas ha anunciado el 14/02 el aumento en las frecuencias de su ruta Buenos Aires/EZE—Roma/Fiumicino/FCO con un total de cuatro frecuencias semanales (4Frq/S) a partir del próximo 15 de Abril de 2023. JetBlue-Spirit riesgo bloqueo por Administración Biden
Ante la fusión de las aerolíneas estadounidenses JetBlue Airways y Spirit Airlines para formar la quinta aerolínea más grande del país, al parecer el Departamento de Justicia (DOJ) de Estados Unidos (DOJ) buscaría bloquearla al presentar una demanda que tendría preparada para anunciar.
Spirit Airlines ha señalado recientemente que el DOJ daría respuesta de la aprobación de la fusión para finales de Febrero 2023. Así mismo, manifestó que estaban a la espera de conocer si el DOJ presentó una demanda para bloquear el acuerdo o si podrían ejecutar la fusión, comentó el Presidente Ejecutivo de Spirit, Ted Christie, durante la presentación financiera del cuarto trimestre (4Q2022).
La división antimonopolio del DOJ estaría en desacuerdo de presentar una demanda en este caso, pues existe otra demanda en contra de la alianza JetBlue Airways—American Airlines con la North Alliance (NEA).
En Enero 2023 se conoció una nueva demanda en contra de la fusión de JetBlue-Spirit, por parte de agentes de viajes y algunos usuarios de los Aeropuertos de Fort Lauderdale y Orlando, pues argumentan que esto generará un aumento de las tarifas aéreas. Alegan en la demanda que, al aprobar esta fusión, JetBlue Airways tendría mayor participación en el mercado de Florida entrando a otros destinos que no son atendidos por Spirit y eliminará la reducción de los precios que brinda esta, pues JetBlue es su rival más importante para la reducción de tarifas.

Avelo Airlines ha anunciado que ha expandido servicios desde el Aeropuerto Orlando en Florida (FL) agregado dos nuevos destinos a su creciente lista de ciudades. A partir de Febrero 2023, los viajeros tendrán dos nuevos destinos que la aerolínea conectará: Orlando/MCO—Raleigh-Durham/RDU en el Estado de Carolina del Norte y Orlando/MCO—Wilmington/ILG en el Estado de Delaware.

El Tribunal Superior de Justicia de la Ciudad de México ha accionado en la confiscación de tres aeronaves ATR 72-600 de Aeromar promovidas por el arrendador Export Development Canadá en contra de Transportes Aeromar S.A. de C.V. La Agencia Federal de Aviación Civil (AFAC) giró instrucciones para que no se autoricen nuevos planes de vuelo para tres aeronaves de Aeromar, modelo ATR 72-600, con las siguientes matrículas: XA-UZE, XA- UZS y XA-UZT, tras las autorizaciones para inoperar las unidades sujetas a enajenación por parte del Juzgado 4º y 50º del Poder Judicial de la Ciudad de México y al Tribunal Superior de Justicia de la Ciudad de México.
La acción legal se deriva de un procedimiento judicial de ejecución de garantía, otorgada mediante prenda sin transmisión de posesión, promovida por la corporación canadiense Export Develoment Canada, en contra de Transportes Aeromar y la irlandesa Domarc Leasing (Empresa de actividad designada, DAC). La AFAC, quien recibió las órdenes judiciales, ordenó a SENEAM que le informe de inmediato si existen solicitudes de Planes de Vuelo para las aeronaves señaladas y se precisa que se deben asegurar los motores, fuselaje y propelas, así como manuales, registros técnicos y demás documentos, y partes que la integran, en las tres aeronaves.
Además, otras órdenes por parte del Aeropuerto Internacional Ciudad de México/AICM dio un ultimátum a la compañía para que liquide la deuda de un valor de MX$ 554 millones de Pesos Mexicanos con fecha límite hasta el 15 de Febrero de 2023, para que pueda continuar operando. El operador aeroportuario ha comunicado que, para que pueda continuar operando, la línea aérea podría abonar un pago de MX$ 250 millones al AICM, lo cual sería prueba de cumplimiento del compromiso hacia delante.

La aerolínea colombiana Viva Air Colombia (Fast Colombia S.A.S.) ha anunciado el Viernes 10/02 que ha ingresado en el Proceso de Recuperación Empresarial (PRE) e insolvencia voluntaria debido a su situación económica y financiera. El PRE es procedimiento extrajudicial de salvamento, contenido en el Decreto Nº560 de 2020 y en el Decreto Reglamentario Nº842 de 2020, que permite a los empresarios afectados por la disminución de actividades e ingresos y afectados por la crisis sanitaria mundial, suscribir con sus acreedores acuerdos de pago para atender sus obligaciones, y preservar su actividad económica para proteger la compañía y sus recursos humanos. Este decreto establece medidas especiales en procesos de insolvencia frente a las empresas que, en el marco del estado de emergencia social y ecológica del Covid-19, se vieron inmersas en causales y situaciones de inviabilidad financiera. Este proceso voluntario de recuperación empresarial tiene una duración de noventa (90) días en los cuales la compañía debe reestructurar sus deudas a través de una negociación con sus acreedores principales para seguir operando bajo condiciones sostenibles que garanticen la continuidad de la empresa.
La low cost colombiana anunció haber iniciado el Proceso de Recuperación Empresarial (PRE) con el fin de evitar la quiebra de la compañía, sumida en graves problemas financieros a partir de la pandemia, agravados por el alza del precio del combustible durante el 2022 y la devaluación del peso colombiano. En medio del interés por Viva Air, la aerolínea low cost JetSMART Airlines Group, ha lanzado una oferta para la compra del 100% de Viva Air Colombia, pero en su contraparte Avianca acusa de inviable la oferta presentada por JetSMART. Viva Air ha dado el visto buenos a la integración Viva Air-JetSMART iniciando la negoción entre ambas low cost, «en el marco de las normas existentes y del debido proceso, de manera expedita y transparente», dijo la empresa parte del fondo estadounidense Indigo Partners. SATENA Airlines iniciará vuelos Bogotá/BOG—Caracas/CCS a partir del 3 de Marzo de 2023. El Presidente de Colombia, Gustavo Petro, confirmó que la aerolínea nacional iniciará la operación de vuelos hacia Caracas, la capital de Venezuela. Además, anunció que se evalúa llegar a otros países de Latinoamérica que podrían ser anunciado próximamente. “Cumpliendo con la promesa de transformar a SATENA en una aerolínea internacional, desde este Viernes 3 de Marzo entran en operación dos rutas hacia Venezuela. Próximamente otros destinos de Latinoamérica”, escribió el Presidente en su cuenta de Twitter. Este es el primer vuelo internacional de SATENA en su historia.
La ruta será operada con una frecuencia de dos veces a la semana (2Frq/S) los Martes y Viernes con Embraer E145. SATENA ha anunciado en Enero 2023 la incorporación de nueva flota de aviones para operar ese trayecto internacional. Los pasajes aéreos se encuentran disponibles a partir del 11/02. Los valores de los tickets varían desde los US$ 250 hasta US$ 466 Dólares por cada trayecto. Los tiquetes para inaugurar este trayecto internacional en Pesos colombianos van desde COL$ 1.105.285 que incluye un equipaje de 15 kilogramos y de 5 kg para el equipaje de mano.
En el caso de Venezuela, la aerolínea que realiza la ruta entre las capitales de Colombia y Venezuela es Trupial Airlines, que tiene vuelos los Lunes, Jueves y Sábados, que tienen un costo de alrededor de US$ 230 Dólares por trayecto, tanto de ida como de vuelta.
