Gol Linhas Aéreas toma entrega del primer Boeing 737-8 MAX

Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes ha recibido su primer Boeing 737-8 MAX, con registro PR-XMA (msn 43986) el viernes 29 Junio 2018. La primer aeronave de cuarta generación arribó a Brasil ingresando al Aeropuerto Internacional Belo Horizonte-Confins.

Gol recibir el viernes del primer Boeing 737-8 MAX, la próxima generación de aviones comerciales del fabricante americano, que será utilizado por la aerolínea más grande en el país para ampliar la oferta de vuelos internacionales. El proceso de entregas de los aviones serán seis aeronaves llegan este 2018 y nueve en 2019. El primer nuevo jet que Gol recibe de Boeing en casi cuatro años es también el primero de un pedido de 120 aviones, que serán entregados hasta 2028, completando la renovación total de la flota de la aerolínea. La configuración de los nuevos Boeing 737-8 MAX tendrán 186 asientos en única clase.

La nueva familia de Boeing 737 MAX es un 15% más eficiente en el consumo de combustible que la versión anterior, el 737 NG (Next Generation), gracias a nuevos motores LEAP-1B, winglets AT y avances tecnológicos de punta. El modelo tiene aún una mayor autonomía, con capacidad de hasta 6.570 km, ante 5,4 mil del 737-800 NG.

Rutas para el MAX

Gol planea usar el rango operativo de MAX expandir su cobertura de red para incluir toda América Latina, el Caribe e incluso destinos en el sureste de los Estados Unidos. «El MAX va a ser nuestro avión modelo, vamos a mejorar nuestra malla internacional, con nuevos destinos», dijo el vicepresidente de planificación de Gol, Celso Ferrer.

Gol actualmente opera Boeing 737-700 (26) y Boeing 737-800 (91) en vuelos programados que cubren 68 ciudades en Brasil, la República Dominicana, Florida (EEUU), Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Surinam y Uruguay. La empresa atiende hoy 11 destinos internacionales, siendo 10 en América del Sur y 1 en el Caribe, Punta Cana, en la República Dominicana. Con el Boeing 737-8 MAX, la empresa ya lanza este año tres nuevos destinos: Miami y Orlando, en Florida, en Estados Unidos; y Quito, en Ecuador. En las rutas hacia Estados Unidos, Gol comienza a volar en Noviembre, con rutas a Miami y Orlando, en Florida, partiendo desde Brasilia (DF) y Fortaleza (CE) a Miami y Orlando. Para Ecuador, los vuelos empiezan en Diciembre 2018.

Toda la flota de la aerolínea Gol Linhas Aéreas esté compuesta íntegramente por los aviones Boeing 737 MAX de nueva generación. El Grupo IAG lanza Level aerolínea low cost en Austria

Dentro de los planes de desarrollo de Level la marca de bajo coste del grupo aéreo abrirá en París-Orly su segunda base europea desde la que volará a Montreal, Nueva York, Guadalupe y Martinica. Además, este año incorporará un tercer avión con base en Barcelona. De esta forma, IAG se suma a compañías como la británica easyJet, aerolínea que solicitó un certificado como operador en Austria para sortear los posibles efectos del ‘Brexit’.

JetSmart Airlines ha adquirido Alas del Sur Líneas Aéreas en Argentina

La aerolínea lowcost de Tanzania atraviesa problemas económicos

La aerolínea remitió un aviso a los inversores en el que reconocía que estaba en riesgo de no poder continuar operando, debido a que se había quedado sin efectivo, y contaba solo con 3,3 millones de dólares de reserva, más de la mitad de los cuales está en Zimbabwe, desde donde es muy difícil trasladar los fondos.

El CEO Stelios Stelios Haji-Ioannou, ha sido el principal accionista de Fastjet, pero ahora tiene una participación de menos del 3% en la compañía, tras la disputa que mantuvo en 2016 con el consejo de administración. «Naturalmente, estoy muy decepcionado por esta noticia. Había tenido la esperanza de ver prosperar los viajes en avión seguros y de bajo coste en África y en todas partes. Sin embargo, he estado cada vez más preocupado en los últimos años por la forma en que Fastjet se estaba ejecutando, primero por Ed Winter y su equipo y ahora por Nico Bezuidenhout”.

Fastjet se lanzó en Tanzania con la ambición de convertirse en una operadora panafricana de bajo costo, pero ha tenido problemas con la falta de infraestructura bancaria del continente y con pedidos de aviones demasiado ambiciosos y costos de oficina. La aerolínea se expandió a Sudáfrica, Zimbabwe, Zambia y Mozambique. La compañía se ha desprendido de los aviones Airbus A319 (5) y opera solo Embraer E-190 (2). Fastjet nunca ha llegado a transportar más de un millón de pasajeros al año.

Tanzania’s lowcost airline is experiencing economic problems

African low-cost carrier Fastjet is about to go bankrupt and has warned shareholders that it will cease operations this Friday unless it can raise funds urgently. The airline, which began operating in 2012 with the backing of easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, is in talks with the main shareholders to obtain these funds, although he has admitted that he had no guarantee of a positive outcome.

The airline sent a notice to investors in which it recognized that it was at risk of not being able to continue operating, due to the fact that it had run out of cash, and had only 3.3 million dollars in reserve, more than half of the which is in Zimbabwe, from where it is very difficult to transfer the funds.

Stelios Stelios Haji-Ioannou, CEO, has been the main shareholder of Fastjet, but now has a stake of less than 3% in the company, following the dispute he held in 2016 with the board of directors. «Naturally, I am very disappointed by this news, I had hoped to see safe and low-cost air travel in Africa and elsewhere prosper, however, I have been increasingly worried in recent years about the way that Fastjet was running, first for Ed Winter and his team and now for Nico Bezuidenhout».

Fastjet was launched in Tanzania with the ambition to become a low-cost pan-African operator, but has had problems with the continent’s lack of banking infrastructure and with orders for over-ambitious airplanes and office costs. The airline expanded to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique. The company has detached from the Airbus A319 (5) aircraft and operates only Embraer E-190 (2). Aegean Airlines ha ordenado a Airbus 30 aeronaves de la familia A320

Aegean Airlines anunció un pedido de 30 aviones de la familia A320 a Airbus. El acuerdo de compra, firmado por el presidente de la aerolínea, Eftichios Vassilakis, y el director ejecutivo de Airbus, Tom Enders, incluye 10 A321 y 20 A320.

Mozambique tiene por primera vez en la historia del país una mujer comandante de aeronaves comerciales, anunció este miércoles la compañía estatal en un comunicado.

Admira António pasó a comandar aeronaves del Embraer 145 de Mozambique Express (Mex), subsidiaria de las Líneas Aéreas de Mozambique (LAM), desde Junio 2018. La nueva comandante inició carrera en Moçambique Express en 2013 donde ha desempeñado las funciones de copiloto hasta ser promovida, gracias a las evaluaciones recibidas y al cumplimiento de criterios.
