Group Aerolíneas closes negotiations
Aerolíneas Argentinas / Austral Líneas Aéreas closed negotiations for an increase of 17% plus trigger clause
The minister of Transport, Guillermo Dietrich, announced that the joint with the aeronautical unions that make up the staff of Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral Líneas Aéreas were closed.
Like the rest of the unions, the pilots agreed to an increase of 17%, which according to Dietrich «is 20% of pocket», plus a bonus that recovers some of the loss of last year and, the novelty, is that the state company will use a trigger clause for next year.
The announcement of the minister was on the occasion of the presentation of the numbers of the flag carrier, in which the president of the company, Mario Dell’Acqua, explained the numbers of the airship in 2017 and in which was also presented the new General Manager of the Group, Abbott Reynal.
The Minister of Transport indicated that today afternoon the agreement was signed with APTA (Association of Aeronautical Technical Personnel) terminating the parity for 2018 of the Airlines Group.
Mario Dell’Acqua ratified the decision of the company to bet heavily on the domestic market. «The market is here. The international routes are fine, but we have growth here. This was a corseted market. We have the most profitable routes in the domestic and regional markets».
For his part, Abbott Reynal pointed out several examples that allowed the airline which went from using U$S 170 million to U$S 90 million in 2018 of subsidies «save U$S 30 million in supply, spare parts, hotels, pool of spare parts, repair of motors etc». This impact on the company having revenues this year for U$S 2302 million, which meant a growth of 13% compared to 2016.
In this context, who until recently was financial manager and now is general manager of the airline, said that «in a short time the 2014/15 balance will be published, in January 2016 and, for the first time in a lot time, we will try to meet the legal deadlines and publish the 2017 deadline before May 31, 2018».
With the most ordered numbers, the balance sheets about to be signed and published, this newspaper consulted with Dietrich about the possibility of going out to take debt and deconsolidate the company from the budget. «At this time we do not have a definition taken regarding the possibility of taking debt».
