La suspensión de los vuelos de la compañía aérea venezolana Rutaca Airlines ocurrió la semana pasada de forma imprevista

Decenas de pasajeros se encontraron con la sorpresa de la interrupción al llegar dos horas antes a chequear sus boletos. El motivo de la interrupción de la programación de los vuelos, según comentó una ejecutiva de una agencia de viajes (nombre en reserva), es que los aviones de la aerolínea están dañados.

Alrededor de 480 pasajeros de Rutaca Airlines se quedaron varados en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía desde el pasado martes por la falta de aviones. Sin embargo hay rumores de pasillo que afirman que a la aerolínea se le vencieron las horas de vuelo

La primer retraso se registró con destino a Santo Domingo del mismo martes, pero al no poder resolver la contingencia se le sumaron tres; uno para Santo Domingo, uno Barcelona y otro Puerto Ordaz. Usuarios explicaron que la primer falla fue cuando el avión de Rutaca intentó aterrizar en el aeropuerto del estado Táchira, pero los operadores de control aéreo les notificaron que no se podía por el mal clima.

Se manera extraoficial se pudo conocer que Rutaca viene presentando fallas con su flota de aviones desde hace dos semanas, pues el domingo pasado alquiló una aeronave de Albatros para trasladar a los usuarios.

Al verse acorralados por la situación, pasajeros exigieron a Rutaca el reembolso de los boletos para volar con otra aerolínea, pero uno de los supervisores les advirtió que el dinero no se reintegra en las oficinas de Maiquetía si no por Caracas y que el proceso podría tardar hasta un mes. Las redes sociales han sido un canal de críticas contra Rutaca Airlines por los reiterados vuelos cancelados.

La aerolínea fue fundada en 1974 y posee 5 Boeing 737-200 y un Boeing 737-300. La compañía está atravezando un proceso de modernización de sus aeronaves pero la inestabilidad económica está complicando el panorama de la programación de sus vuelos.

Air Berlín está atravesando una crisis económica difícil. El protecto de integrarse a Niki y Tuifly había fracasado

La compañía Air Berlin fracasó en su intento de unirse junto a Niki y Tiufly para hacer una aerolínea vacacional integrada. El Gobierno central alemán parece haberse negado a aportar dinero, mientras que el estado de Berlín dice que puede estudiar el asunto. Los vuelos de Berlín a Viena, Palma de Mallorca, Zurich y Nueva York fueron cancelados.

El Director General de Air Berlin, Thomas Winkelmann,expresó que tiene un proyecto de futuro basada en achicar la aerolínea, pero la realidad es saber como respondería sin una gota de liquidez. Etihad, uno de los accionistas de la compañía alemana aportó 300 millones de euros que Air Berlín ha gastado rápidamente.

El plan de la compañía era, en primer lugar, alquilar una parte de su flota a Lufthansa, para Eurowings; en segundo lugar, desviar parte de su flota a Niki, que entraría en una sociedad con Tuifly, la antigua Hapag Lloyd y, en tercer lugar, operar el largo radio con los aviones restantes. Pero este jueves pasado Tuifly dio marcha atrás a la negociación y ahora se queda con unos aviones que no tienen encaje en el plan. Otra aerolínea que está pendiente de la situación es Ryanair ha protestado enérgicamente debido a las maniobras para que Lufthansa se quede con su rival. Ryanair dice que Air Berlín, si va mal, debe cerrar y que sus servicios los cubran quienes puedan, entre ellos la propia Ryanair, por supuesto. En todo caso, su acusación de que la absorción del número dos de Alemania por parte del número uno parece que puede afectar a la competencia, claramente.

La deuda financiera de Air Berlín asciende a más de mil millones de euros, debido a que los resultados de los últimos años han sido muy malos. La dirección culpa del mal a que la recomposición de su programación en 2016 que fue mucho más complicada que de lo previsto inicialmente.

Azores Airlines ha puesto sus tres A310-300s a la venta con el especialista británico en remarketing Moon Jet Group encargado de gestionar su eliminación

De acuerdo con un comunicado de prensa, los aviones de 25 años de antigüedad son CS-TGU (msn 571), CS-TKN (msn 624) y CS-TGV (msn 651), todos disponibles inmediatamente como individuos o combinados compra. El certificado de aeronavegabilidad de CS-TGV expirará el 1 de julio de 2017, seguido por CS-TKN el 18 de abril de 2018 y CS-TGU el 20 de abril de 2018.

Azores Airlines está sustituyendo la aeronave por seis A321neo arrendados de Air Lease Corporation. According to a press release, the 25-year-old aircraft are CS-TGU (msn 571), CS-TKN (msn 624), and CS-TGV (msn 651), all of which are available immediately as an individual or combined purchase. Of the aircraft, CS-TGV’s airworthiness certificate will expire on July 1, 2017, followed by CS-TKN on April 18, 2018, and CS-TGU on April 20, 2018.

Azores Airlines is replacing the aircraft with six A321neo leased from Air Lease Corporation. The CFM International Leap 1A-powered aircraft, which include -LR variants, are sourced from the lessor’s Airbus order book and will deliver between the fourth quarter of this year and early 2021. A \ W

Powdair, nueva aerolínea suiza con base en Sion

Una nueva línea aérea llamada Powdair planea conectar Bristol, Edimburgo, Luton, Manchester, Southampton y Southend con el pequeño Aeropuerto de Sion, en el suroeste de Suiza. Sion es la capital del cantón de Valais, y también es conveniente para las estaciones de esquí de Verbier y Nendaz. El transportista dice: «Se han ido los días de volar en uno de los aeropuertos mucho más concurridos de Suiza antes de embarcarse en un viaje de transferencia de dos o tres horas a su destino».

A new start-up airline called Powdair plans to connect Bristol, Edinburgh, Luton, Manchester, Southampton and Southend with the small airport of Sion in south-west Switzerland. Sion is capital of the canton of Valais, and is also convenient for the ski resorts of Verbier and Nendaz. The carrier says: “Gone are the days of flying into one of Switzerland’s much busier airports before embarking on a two or three hour transfer journey to your destination.”​

Powdair is based in Dublin, set up by “a group of successful businessmen and savvy investors, who also happen to love skiing”. The type of plane has not yet been finalised, with Powdair saying: “We are using either the Embraer 170, a 76 seat regional jet or Embraer 190 seating 106 passengers depending on demand.”

The highest-frequency routes are to and from Luton (five flights a week), Southampton (four) and Bristol (three). Powdair says: “We’ve planned our routes and our timetable with short breaks in mind.” The airline is even offering a season ticket, with the chance to buy 10, 20 or 30 tickets for a specific route at a 20 per cent discount on normal fares.

Fares vary little over the season. On the key half-term dates, flying from Luton on 10 February for a week, the fare to Sion is £310 return. A Monday-to-Wednesday trip on the same route in mid-April, when demand is likely to be much lighter, is exactly the same price. Fares include 23kg of baggage plus a pair of skis or a snowboard. Powdair addresses concerns that prospective travellers may have about the viability of the start-up, conceding “The world is littered with failed travel companies and airlines”. It says ticket funds are retained by a payment merchant, adding: “In the event of a cessation of flights, your money will be refunded back to you.”

Aviation industry experts contacted by The Independent were guarded about the prospects for the venture. The consultant, John Strickland, said: “Sion could be a bit of a niche ski market, but it’s still a challenge given the big fire power of easyJet and other tour-operator backed airlines.”

A senior executive, who did not want to be named, said: “I don’t give it long, in fact I very much doubt whether a single flight will take off.” But Powdair is optimistic about the future: “Assuming our 2017/18 winter season goes well, then we have every intention of continuing to operate flights throughout the year.” A\W
