Actualización de software para 737 MAX

Image result for test FAA pilot Boeing 737 MAXAW | 2019 07 28 15:17 | AVIATION SAFETY / INDUSTRY

Image result for test FAA pilot Boeing 737 MAXSoftware update for 737 MAX

Boeing-Company-LogoThe Boeing company together with regulators continue with the configuration to repair the failure of Boeing 737 MAX

The Boeing Company CEO Dennis Muilenburg said the company hopes to complete a software patch by the end of September 2019. The Boeing 737 MAX family of aircraft has been grounded in the United States since March 13, 2019 and has cost him to Boeing and the airlines billions of dollars. Boeing announced on July 18, 2019 that it was reducing revenue and earnings before taxes by US$ 5.6 billion in the second quarter of this year.

Piloting tests

The US government test pilots went through dozens of flight scenarios in the Boeing 737 MAX in recent weeks, a possible failure once again focused on the narrowbodies crisis. The airplane’s flight computer tried to push the nose of the plane repeatedly during a simulator run caused by a flow of erroneous flight data. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot concluded that commercial pilots may not have time to react and avoid a tragedy in a real plane. That fault, the last one discovered in the family of planes involved in two fatal crashes since October 2018 caused by a different fault that pressed their noses, was revealed by the FAA in June 2019. These new details have ignited new alerts and a new uncertainty about the return to flight of the company’s best selling model. Boeing is working with its engineers fighting for a solution.

Image result for test FAA pilot Boeing 737 MAX

The flaw suggests that it triggered multiple aggressive movements to lower the nose of the plane, which alarmed the FAA pilots and other officials. However, the movement of the nose down did not occur as a result of a computer hardware failure, according to one of the people associated with the investigation who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to discuss the matter. That would add credibility to Boeing’s claims that it can solve the problem with a relatively simple software change.

«We are confident that it is a software update, not a hardware update. It is an understood update and we are in the midst of working through that», Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg said during a results visit on Wednesday. Muilenburg said the company hopes to be able to complete a software patch by the end of September, while warning that the timeline remains uncertain.

The FAA, which must approve any repairs at the 737 MAX research focus center, has not set a deadline or agrees with Boeing’s assessment that software changes will be sufficient. The agency declined to comment on the situation beyond the statement it issued on June 26, saying the fault was discovered during the routine process to test the plane. «The FAA recently found a potential risk that Boeing should mitigate», the agency said in its statement without describing the details.

AW-70083771.pngBoeing Brasil Commercial continues

AW-704344441.pngThe synergy of the Boeing-Embraer commercial area will be underway by 4Q2019

The next frontier of Embraer SA will be to incorporate the commercial area to the mega-company The Boeing Company. The Joint Venture Boeing-Embraer will allow Boeing to acquire the regional range of regional aircraft E170E2 / E190E / E195E for its construction, marketing and sale. The new agreement will make the current Embraer headquarters in São José dos Campos a new branch of the American builder.

Advantages of Boeing Brazil

The agreement with Boeing will transform Embraer’s commercial aviation into a new company, called Boeing Brazil Commercial. The new Boeing-Embraer agreement will allow innovation and technology to be put on the global map in the Republic of Brazil.

All old Embraer units used in commercial aviation will be absorbed by the joint venture, including the company’s headquarters in the southeast region of São José dos Campos (RJ) and other units in the Paraíba Valley (SP).

The creation of the new company Boeing Brasil Commercial will be constituted by The Boeing Company that will control 80% with a payment agreement for US $ 4.2 billion and will have total control over the direction of the new company, while Embraer SA will own 20% of the shares. The agreement is currently being evaluated by regulatory agencies in Brazil, the United States and other countries and should be closed by the end of 2019.

Production line

The production of the Embraer E175/E190/E195/E175E2/E190E2/E195E2 commercial aircraft line is maintained at the Soa José dos Campos factory. The E135/E140/E145 regional jet units as well as the E110/E120 turboprops that are out of production will continue their maintenance under the new company. At first, Boeing has reported that it was ruled out to change the commercial names of the current Embraer aircraft portfolio that names its commercial aircraft as E-Jets launched in 1999 and E-Jets E2 in 2013. However, no risks are risked. respect. With respect to the E3 Program for a new turboprop aircraft, it will take time to determine which projects will be advanced and which could be canceled.

The regional aircraft of the Brazilian manufacturer would fit into the single-aisle market of 90 seats, with Boeing projecting US$ 3.775 billion for a demand of 32.420 aircraft. The E190 and E195 models of Embraer and their newer versions (E2) could compete in this category. The E175 and E175 E2 would compete in the category of regional jets for up to 90 passengers, an estimated market of US$ 105 billion for the delivery of 2,240 aircraft in 10 years.

Boeing expects a world market of US$ 4.18 billion for new aircraft in the next decade, since by 2028 more than 35,000 aircraft are expected to be delivered. Embraer airplanes could compete in at least half of this market, whose value in reals of R$ 16.3 billion, exceeds 2.3 times the Brazilian GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in 2018 that was R$ 6.8 trillions

Regional competitiveness

The new Boeing Brasil Commercial will open a new chapter in regional aviation. Companies are focusing on the merger to compete in the increasingly complex and competitive commercial aviation market.

Airbus, the main competitor of Boeing, opted for an impeccable strategy by taking control of the CSeries Program of Bombardier Inc., the largest competitor of Embraer.

Embraer will survive in the areas of Executive Aviation, Defense and Security. These sectors will maintain the worldwide recognized nomenclature, but they will have production units outside the Paraíba Valley: in Gavião Peixoto (SP), also in the United States and Portugal.

For the founder of Embraer, Ozires Silva, the Joint-Venture association greatly strengthens Embraer to position it on the world stage under the wings of the aeronautical giant Boeing. A \ W

No entanto, nenhum risco é arriscado. respeito.

Boeing-Company-Logo.jpgAmid the crisis involving the 737 MAX assembly line, the 777X Program continues to be delayed due to engineering difficulties

The Boeing Company reported that its 777X Program that includes the 777-8 and 777-9 aircraft of wide autonomy would undergo further studies. The Boeing 777-9 will not conduct test flights in the next ninety days. An executive of the board confirmed that this double-aisle aircraft could just begin to fly tentatively in the first half of 2020. The cause lies in the problems caused by the General Electric GE9X driving units, which are currently the most powerful turbines on the airport, designed especially to boost this future plane that will be the world’s largest twin-engine. In a further delay in the 777X Program roadmap, the manufacturer’s initial idea was for test flights to take place in 2018 and to go into operation in 2020. Boeing hoped that this problem would be resolved soon, the entire calendar It is delayed for several months.

Ξ 100 años de Fokker Ξ

AW-700100-Fokker.jpgAW | 2019 07 26 20:47 | HISTORY / INDUSTRY

fokker-logo.gifThe Fokker company celebrates 100 years of history

On July 21, 1919, Anthony Fokker registered the Nederlandsche Vliegtuigenfabriek brand, paving the way for Fokker’s business. Now, 100 years later, more than 400 Fokker planes are in service and the company’s technologies fly on many other planes.

Fokker will once again encompass the world

fokker-962023_960_720.pngAfter an economically viable time between the two world wars, the company had a difficult start in 1945. Buses, gliders, motorcycle sidecars, drums and household tools were built. People were eager to start building planes again. First, a review work was carried out for civil aviation, MLD and KLu. Designs were made for the first Fokker plane itself. These were mainly designs that did not. The F.25 business plane, the S.11/S.12 and the S.13 training plane that did not reach beyond a prototype obtained approval. In addition, the Fokker S.14 jet trainer was built for the Klu, of which only twenty were taken.

In 1951, the factory moved to Schiphol and in 1958 the design of what later became the great success for Fokker, the double engine with the F.27 Friendship and Troopship engine, appeared. The F.27s were assembled in Schiphol. The wings and body parts were made in Dordrecht, later Papendrecht. The backs of the big helmet and other parts come from other European factories. Fairchild in the United States was also interested in Fokker and built the F-27F under license.

Fokker’s next success was the F28 equipped with jet engines. Here too, close cooperation was again with other European aircraft manufacturers. Special in the construction of both F27 and F28 was the large-scale application of glued joints.

The Fokker aircraft factory has been around for a hundred years. A century of aviation that this year is celebrated together with the equally old Royal Dutch Airlines KLM and the National Aviation Laboratory NLR. The location of Fokker Papendrecht has existed for 52 years this year. On December 31, 1967, Aviolanda handed over the key to an aircraft factory that had been located in Papendrecht for exactly forty years. We are one hundred years from the moment, on July 21, 1919, the aviator and aircraft manufacturer Anthony Fokker founded the Nederlandsche Vliegtuigenfabriek.

The VFW-Fokker debacle

In 1969, Fokker merged with the German Vereinigte Flugtechnische Werke (VFW) in Bremen to become VFW-Fokker. The merger was not a success and Frans Swartouw had to get involved in resolving the economic damage the company had suffered. He approved for a desperate offensive. Two new types of commercial aircraft, the Fokker 50 and the Fokker 100, both modernized successors of F.27 and F.28 would be developed.

The sales of the new Fokker family did not fare well. There were internal problems with the new owner Daimler-Benz, with the result that the Fokker group went bankrupt on March 15, 1996. Parts of the original company remained intact after bankruptcy. The space branch continued as an independent company. The aircraft factories and maintenance/repair factories formed part of the Stork group as of 1996 as «Fokker Aviation».

Fokker_F-100

Four breeding companies

After Stork received Fokker Aviation (Elmo-Electronics), FAS (aircraft maintenance) and special products, it was transferred to the Stork Aerospace Group. In 2007, Stork came to the private equity fund Candover Partners. Fokker Aerospace was recovered with the name of Fokker Technologies consisting of four different business units: Fokker Aerotructures, Fokker Landing Gear, Fokker Elmo and Fokker Services. In 2015, the company was sold to the British GKN Aerospace.

Fokker today

The current Fokker no longer builds complete aircraft, but cooperates with other aircraft manufacturers. They specialize in the manufacture of parts, electrical systems and landing gear, as well as in the maintenance of helicopters and aircraft. Among other things, the company carries out the maintenance of the airplanes built by Fokker Aircraft.

The company has also served as a representative of the Netherlands in the global aerospace community. Together with its 3,300 Dutch employees at seven Dutch sites, the business continues to be a major contributor to the economy of the Netherlands. On March 14, 2019, a celebration event was held in Amsterdam throughout the Dutch industry to jointly recognize the centenarians of GKN Fokker, Royal NLR and KLM. In September 2019, GKN Fokker will organize a celebration for employees in the Netherlands.

GKN Fokker was integrated into GKN Aerospace in 2015. The result is that GKN Aerospace has a global manufacturing footprint of 50 sites in 15 countries.

100th Fokker Years

«100 years later, we have achieved our founder’s dream, with our future firmly based on a century of innovation», said John Pritchard, CEO of GKN Aerospace ASEA. “The entrepreneurial spirit of Anthony Fokker has become the world-class business GKN Aerospace. We are proud to be part of the successful Dutch aviation industry, along with KLM, NLR and many other companies. We are perfectly positioned to forge a sustainable aerospace future together». Anthony Fokker’s first Dutch flight took place on August 31, 1911 around St Bavo’s church in Haarlem and with it began a brilliant and fascinating history of Dutch aviation.

Safran insta a Rusia sustitución piezas

Safran urges Russia to make substitutes for engine parts of American origin

The PowerJet SaM146 is a turbofan engine produced by the PowerJet joint venture between Snecma (Safran) of France and NPO Saturn of Russia. Developing 68–80 kN (15,000–18,000 lbf) of thrust, the SaM146 is used in the Sukhoi Superjet 100.

The high-tech cast and forged parts for the SaM146 remain scarce, prompting Safran to look for Russian suppliers in search of the parts. Safran is urging Moscow to create substitutes for items from US suppliers in the PowerJet SaM146 and launch them into mass production in hopes of ending the monopoly of certain manufacturers in the global market for complex parts in commercial turbojet engines. If the Russians commit, Safran agrees to place large orders for similar parts in other engines to reduce their unit costs and increase production rates, according to senior managers in the Russian aerospace industry who requested anonymity.

Safran, on the other hand, confirmed that it has developed a «joint roadmap» with Rostec that lists the priority parts and specifies the certification requirements for new partners in Russia. Safran said: «We continue to consider the possibility of greater integration of Russian industry into our supply chain, not only in relation to the production of parts for the SaM146, but also for other programs such as Leap and CFM56. We consider that Russian industry and its capabilities are very important, and we have no doubt that they are fully committed to meeting all the necessary performance and certification criteria».

According to Russian executives, talks on the issue began shortly after the decision of US President Donald Trump to scrap the nuclear agreement with Iran and exert stricter control over high-tech exports to that country. Moscow and its key European partners in the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) initiated consultations on how to eliminate the type of scope of Washington’s trade restrictions in hopes of selling equipment to Iranian airlines.

Image result for United Engine CorporationThe problem of the parts for the SaM146 worsened after the engines in service began to develop more failures, the problem was due to a useful life shorter than expected for certain elements in the active section. PowerJet advised operators to send their engines to the manufacturer for inspection and repair, but shortly thereafter it seemed that the industry could not do the job in the short term due to insufficient capacity of the maintenance centers and the shortage of spare parts. Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) and United Engine Corporation (OAK) formed a set of replacement engines to keep the SSJ100 in flight, at the cost of reducing the production of new structures. The engine deficit caused up to 20 aircraft structures completed otherwise to be grounded at the manufacturing plant in Komsomolsk-upon-Amur and at the main SCAC base at Ramenskoye airfield.

Despite persistent efforts, PowerJet has failed to raise SaM146 production rates above 60 per year, mainly due to the shortage of certain parts supplied by US suppliers, the list of those suppliers includes PCC Structurals, TECT, Chromalloy, Carpenter, Cannon Muskegon and Hayes International. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, PCC Structurals specializes in the production of superalloy, aluminum and titanium. Its position in the global market was strengthened after Warren Buffett bought Precision Castparts in 2015. According to industry experts, PCC Structurals enjoys a monopoly in the market for complex titanium parts, since it has only dominated foundry technologies Advanced necessary. For years, the company has served as the sole supplier of the so-called intermediate bearing for the SaM146.

While the Trump administration and the United States Congress imposed numerous punitive measures in the Russian aerospace and defense industries, they do not cover the supply of parts of the United States to the SaM146, which means that the problem of supply shortage It is due to purely commercial considerations. The manufacturer has agreed to do so only in the case of a large order with prepayment. However, the current production rate of SaM146 remains relatively small, as is the increase in production considered by PowerJet and SCAC. «There is currently a tension in the supply chain for the manufacture of forged and forged parts, which affects all those interested in the aerospace industry given the complexity of the parts that will be manufactured,» Safran confirmed.

PowerJet and its employer, Safran, have asked Moscow to find a solution. Thanks to the great experience that Russia has accumulated in the manufacture of complex titanium products, certain companies within its military-industrial complex seem capable of handling such a task. But most of them remain busy with a state order for military equipment and will not make an effort in SaM146 unless the Kremlin has given them an assignment.

According to aerospace executives, French negotiators have repeatedly asked their high-ranking Russian counterparts to issue the allocation and allocate the necessary funds to cover the non-recurring costs associated with technology and production preparation. If the Russian industry dominates the production of complex titanium parts for the SaM146 and demonstrates high quality, Safran is committed to placing large parts orders with similar configurations for those engines, as well as the CFM International models.

For its part, OAK has already commissioned its UMPO (Ufa Machinery-building Production Association) member to produce substitutes for the SaM146 parts that PowerJet now buys in the United States but doubt that UMPO has enough resources to handle the work.

Russia maintains a complete scientific research center specializing in engine technologies in the form of CIAM, the Central Institute of Aviation Engines. Due to the complexity of the problem, finding a solution may require the participation of other scientific establishments that historically specialize in naval equipment. They would need a clear Kremlin directive to get involved and share technologies that they have created in classified military projects.

Since 1970, with the induction of the K-222 submarine of Project 661, nicknamed Golden Fish for its enormous development and manufacturing costs, the Russian navy has operated several submarines with titanium hulls, including some highly secret ships. For deep water operations whose development and manufacturing finances the Ministry of Defense. For the respective technologies to be available for civil programs, such as the SSJ-100 and SaM146, their owners and developers need the permission of the Kremlin. A \ W
