AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Dynamic would change as Eastern Air Lines

Dynamic Airways will change brands as Eastern Air Lines

Dynamic International Airways has announced that it has left Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection since March 8, 2018 and is now looking to develop its ACMI / charter business using the Eastern Air Lines brand.

Dynamic Airways has informed the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) that under its reorganization plan approved by the court, it will continue to operate charter flights of the ACMI type in an attempt to rebuild its financial resources. He said that during his time in bankruptcy protection, he had seen an important unmet market public need for carriers with wide-body aircraft. As such, it requires DOT approval to increase its limit beyond the current limit of five large aircraft to ten.

Dynamic has the infrastructure to operate 10 aircraft and has a strong FAA compliance record. The current restriction of five aircraft significantly limits financial growth and leads to costly inefficiencies in its maintenance department. The carrier stressed that it already has commitments with customers for the use of up to 10 aircraft, of which eight will be used for passenger flights and two for cargo.

The long-term goal, said Dynamic, is to introduce the long-distance, low-cost scheduled service from China and other markets. Dynamic Airways intends to access the trademark rights of Eastern Air Lines will come under owner Kenneth Woolley who, in addition to owning 100% of Solitude Strategies, LLC, individual shareholder of Dynamic, also controls a 38.75% stake in Swift Air.

Currently, all of the aircraft that Dynamic operates Boeing 767-200 (1), 767-200ER (2) and B767-300ER (2) are leased in ownership of Woolley LLC. However, the revelation indicates that Woolley will donate these leased aircraft to Dynamic in the near future, so that Dynamic will own its entire B767 fleet.

In total, Woolley has provided more than US $ 8 million in DIP financing and more than US $ 50 million in aircraft and cash after the company emerged from Chapter 11. It is reported that it is prepared to invest up to US $ D 15 additional million to cover any operational expenses if necessary. new aircraft are integrated into the fleet. A \ W

AW | 2018 0314 12:57 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Braathens Airlines becomes the first airline to implement biofuel in the entire fleet

Braathens Regional Airlines is the first company in the world that offers all travelers biofuel

The new biofuel opportunity with Braathens Regional Airlines makes the flight almost fossil-free. «It is important for us to facilitate climate change and to allow biofuel for flight is just one of our actions to make things smarter for our customers Since 2017, we have offered biofuel possibilities only to companies, now it is possible for all This is an important step towards our goal of becoming fossil-free until the year 2030», says Christian Clemens, CEO of Braathens Regional Airlines.

Biofuel standardization in Braathens

Biofuel is an option for travelers when booking tickets with Braathens Regional Airlines. Braathens Regional Airlines guarantees the refueling of its aircraft with biofuel. The refueling is done with biofuel throughout the year, not for each flight. Braathens Regional Airlines simply replaces conventional aviation fuel with biofuel and increases the use of biofuels within aviation. Fortunately, the increased demand will accelerate production speed and create decreasing prices for biofuels.

Braathens Regional Airlines does not charge any additional fee for biofuel. The supplement is just the difference between fuel costs. As the average flight with Braathens Regional Airlines is one hour. The airline will start offering all biofuels at a fixed cost equivalent to an average flight. If the demand is high, Braathens Regional Airlines already plans to make the reservation more flexible due to flight schedules and aircraft types.

In 2009, Braathens Regional Airlines was the first commercial airline in the world certified by ISO 14001, then under the Malmo Aviation and Sverigeflyg brands.

In March 2018, Braathens Regional Airlines obtained membership in the Swedish government Fossil Free Sweden Initiative. Air BP is the biofuel supplier for Braathens Regional Airlines and is produced mainly with old frying oil and other biological waste.

Braathens Regional Airlines has just updated its aircraft fleet with one of the most efficient types of airplanes available for regional flights: ATR 500/600 turbo propeller. The new ATR / s currently operate 19 routes of the domestic network of Braathens Regional Airlines in Sweden. There are no high-emission effects of flights with the Braathens Regional Airlines ATR fleet. The plane does not fly at altitudes above 6000-7000 meters (the effects of high-altitude emissions begin at 8000-9000).

Braathens Regional Airlines will begin a second change in the aircraft fleet by 2020 and implement a series of Bombardier C-Series. The airline will at the same time send its current Avro RJ fleet to retirement forever.

Through this new biofuel opportunity, Swedish Braathens Regional Airlines continues to lead the development with the most climate-friendly customer solutions in the aviation industry. A \ W

I mars 2018 erhöll Braathens Regional Airlines medlemskap i Sveriges regering Fossil Free Sweden Initiative.

Las turbulencias de Flybondi

AW | 2018 03 14 11:11 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

The turbulences of Flybondi

Delays and a judicial brake complicated the first month of low cost flights

AW-Flybondi_Aircraft-001Delays and cancellations affected 10 thousand passengers. For the airline Flybondi, it is because an amparo limited the activity in El Palomar. But there were also technical failures.

Julian Cook, the CEO of Flybondi, the first and for now the country’s only low-cost line, which began operating in Córdoba on January 26 and debuted at El Palomar on February 9. The firm admitted that since then 156 flights were affected by cancellations, delays or airport changes.

According to the company, everything is because the Federal Court of San Martin has not yet lifted the precautionary measure, requested by residents of the area, which only allows three arrivals and three departures per day at the base of El Palomar, until it is guaranteed that a larger activity would have an acceptable environmental impact.

«In the commercial area we are super happy. In the first month, we sold more than 100,000 tickets, all through the Internet, and managed to occupy the aircraft at 70%. People were enthusiastic about the proposal and more than 20% of the passengers were people who had never traveled by plane, but with our rates they were able to do so», said Cook.

In the Ministry of Transportation of the Nation explained that the environmental impact study required by Judge Martina Forns to allow more daily flights in El Palomar was already presented two weeks ago. For March 28, meanwhile, a public hearing was called.

But everything was put on hold because Forns, on March 5, asked to depart from the case alleging that he felt «moral violence» over the accusations of a neighbor who opposes the airport (see below). «The deadlines were delayed because the judge excused herself. Now we are waiting for news», explained Transport. In Flybondi, meanwhile, warn that the situation, well, is not sustainable. And that, if it continues, they would evaluate moving their entire operation to the Ezeiza terminal.

Beyond the judicial limit to El Palomar, the passengers of the company also had problems due to other causes. One was that Flybondi began to fly with a single plane, with almost no margin to solve technical problems without altering its tight schedule. Now, says Cook, they already have three aircraft. And next month will add another two. They will also continue adding routes. A \ W

DGAC de Chile cancela licencia a LAW

AW | 2018 03 13 10:41 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

DGAC of Chile cancels license to LAW Airlines

The Chilean DGAC has canceled the air operator’s license (AOC) to operate

The General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) announced that it decided to suspend the Air Operator Certificate (COA) that the company has in Chile. Through a statement, the DGAC has determined that Latin American Wings (LAW) is not operating due to the cancellation of its operations and the announcement of new destinations that have not been approved by the Aeronautical Authority.

The Chilean airline LAW Airlines faces the cancellation of its air AOC by the DGAC of Chile, after the company suspended all its operations and the announcement of a reorganization due to the financial crisis it faces.

LAW will not be able to continue its commercial air operations in Chile or abroad, unless it can accredit before the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC), the technical requirements to operate permanently. «The suspension is due to the airline operator Latin American Wings S.A. suspended its operations, within a process of internal reorganization of the company, and canceled all scheduled flights by itinerary, as well as in front of the announcement of new destinations, which have not been presented and approved by this aeronautical authority», says the text of The authority.

The measure of LAW has meant that hundreds of passengers are stranded in different destinations, of which some 200 can not return from last week in Venezuela, Peru, Miami and the Dominican Republic, without response from the company, after last Friday the company will announce the temporary suspension of its operations.

On Monday, the airline LAW Airlines announced that on Friday, March 16, it would partially resume its operations, ensuring that passengers who have been affected by the reprogramming had the option of requesting the return of their ticket, before knowing about the suspension of his certificate of air operator by the DGAC of Chile.

The DGAC points out that if the airline LAW Airlines wants to fly again in Chile, it must prove to the aeronautical authority that it has permanent technical and logistical requirements to ensure its operations on an ongoing basis. A \ W

India pone en tierra los Airbus A320NEO

Flap-A321

AW | 2018 03 13 00:53 | INDUSTRY / AIRLINES / AVIATION SAFETY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

India Airlines lands A320NEO

The Indigo and Goair airlines have been affected by problems with the Pratt & Whitney PW1100 engines

India took the drastic step of grounding all the narrow-bodied Airbus A320NEO aircraft powered by the latest Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines, eliminating the plane from the skies of the country after a series of flight incidents.

The A320NEO’s presents defective engines with a seal that causes vibrations, putting all the units on the ground for safety reasons, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of India (DGCA) reported Monday. The unilateral action is at odds with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the main regulator of Airbus aircraft.

The Indian air operator IndiGo immediately disconnected eight A320NEO and three GoAir aircraft. The incidents that occurred in the Pratt & Whitney PW1100 engines paralyzed aircraft service with PW1100 engine due to vibrations recorded twice last week, according to the DGCA.

The problem with the so-called compressor seal with blade edge is the latest in a series of costly problems for Pratt in the development of the turboprop engine model with gear. The manufacturer, part of United Technologies Corp., had proposed a solution that would allow at least one engine with an older seal to rejoin the aircraft while operating in a more permanent solution.

Defects in the PW1100

Under Pratt’s plan, all defective components would be replaced at the beginning of June, which would require some planes to fly with an affected engine for almost three more months. That is not acceptable, according to the Indian regulator, who said that the manufacturer did not have a specific proposal at this stage. Pratt & Whitney said in an e-mailed statement that it is working closely with customers to minimize disruptions and that it has already started delivering engines with improved configuration. Of the 11 Indian planes recently grounded, up to five can restart the flight by exchanging engines between the affected aircraft.

EASA reiterated that operations with aircraft with a defective engine should be allowed, provided that such aircraft do not perform extended flights over water, where they are further away from amusement airports in the event of an emergency.

The Indian decision was unilateral with which EASA did not participate, the European agency said in a statement sent by email, adding that a full basis is not considered necessary at the moment.

The drawbacks with the engines have led to the repetition of aircraft landing in India. IndiGo had grounded at least seven of the jets in July 2017, pending a solution for the engines. In February 2018, the DGCA had ordered the grounding of three of the IndiGo jets.

Pratt & Whitney replaced the original seal because it was degrading faster than expected, reducing the planned service interval. Indigo is the largest and most important current operator of the A320NEO. A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Difficulties at El Palomar Airport

AW-Flybondi_Aircraft-001.jpgThe new El Palomar Airport gets difficulties to approve more flights

The Government of Argentina would begin with public hearings to carry out new works and aeronautical activities, the judge in charge of investigating the environmental impact and operational safety of the new airport has just excused itself from the cause that defines the destinations of that terminal.

The decision of Martina Forns to step aside fell like a bucket of cold water both in the Ministry of Transport, which focuses on the consolidation of El Palomar Airport as a commercial airport, and the intertwined airline Flybondi in expanding its activities.

The current permit only enables three daily flights at El Palomar Airport, so the commercial decision of the firm to expand its offer motivated that some services must be provided from the Jorge Newbery Airport (Aeroparque).

The separation of the magistrate blocks the intention of both actors and forces to wait for a new designation that, within a term to be defined, decides on an eventual increase in traffic to and from that air terminal.

Flybondi after knowing the decision of the judge, from the firm acknowledged that the promised routes to Corrientes and Jujuy, originally scheduled for early March, will be delayed at least until April.

From Flybondi indicated that the delay in the provision of new services from El Palomar will motivate that, only in what remains of the month, about 72 flights settled could suffer delays, or even flights from the Aeroparque terminal are no longer viable. The problem is that the company assumed that it would be able to extend the frequencies from the El Palomar terminal at the beginning of March, taking from that perspective, it launched to sell tickets that in more than one case it must return. Affected passengers were already notified of the modifications and were offered an individualized solution: the possibility of opting to change their flights at no extra cost, opening the ticket without a specific date, or requesting the full return of the ticket.

Flybondi and its expansion

The projections of the extensions of the flights at El Palomar Airport directly affect the plans of Flybondi, the airline that has at its entire disposal the already operational facilities of the terminal.

The departure of Forns, in addition to having frozen the company’s plans to activate flights to Corrientes and Jujuy, has complicated the benefits to the provinces of Tucumán, Mendoza, Neuquén and Córdoba.

«In the last time, and to maintain scheduled flights, we worked with two air bases simultaneously, but that solution is no longer viable», they said from the firm, acknowledging that diverting passengers to Aeroparque almost permanently is not business.

ANAC Argentina

The conduct of the airline Flybondi, added to the succession of incidents carried out by the airline since its start of operations in Argentina, motivated a consultation with the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) regarding how Flybondi’s performance has been in terms of operations and compliance with current regulations.

The agency acknowledged that sanctions against the airline are being discussed for violating commercial guidelines. «The fines that are in the process of application refer to these issues», acknowledged an ANAC source. Another voice consulted said that, specifically, Flybondi would have violated the fare band with some of its promotions.

In the ANAC, the technical problems experienced by Flybondi aircraft relativize and even take for granted that incidents are normal for companies that have just started operations. «The landing of the first low cost is very positive for Argentina, any new airline in a country has its setbacks until it adapts to the place, Flybondi operates according to the required safety standards, and the ANAC as control body. verify their performance», they explained from the agency.

Hearing for works in El Palomar

While this is defined, the Ministry of Transportation formalized the call for the next March 28 to a hearing to consider work projects in El Palomar. On the opposite sidewalk, an NGO asks to suspend the activity and warns of possible flooding.

Since Flybondi began using the terminal, both the company and the air station were at the center of the controversy as a result of various unforeseen events. Now, after a judicial appeal raised by an NGO to close the former air base, the government called a hearing.

In the last days a new protection against the activity of the airport arose that they want that the Nation closes it so that the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires realizes studies of environmental impact. In the Ministry of Transport’s portfolio they reported that maintenance works have been carried out on the runway and in July the modernization of the hangars will begin to turn them into a space that will receive up to one million passengers a year. AW | 2018 03 12 04:20 | AIRLINES

Autoridades peruanas alistan proceso sancionador a aerolínea LAW.

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Air crisis of LAW Airlines

The airline LAW Airlines still has passengers waiting in Miami (USA), Dominican Republic and Lima (Peru) who have not arrived in Chile

After the airline Latin American Wings (LAW) announced this Friday the temporary suspension of its regular operations and the sale of tickets, there are still passengers who have not been able to return to Chile from the United States, the Dominican Republic and Peru.

The affected passengers had been waiting since Wednesday for a solution from the company that announced the suspension of their operations, so they had to pay out extra money in new tickets.

The airline Latin American Wings said that the business model that currently supported the operation of the company has saturated its structure. After the Chilean airline reformulated its international air market strategy, it has had many problems with the scheduling of flights abroad.

Passengers affected

The situation of the passengers in Miami who were waiting for their flight since Wednesday is one of the most complex. Several passengers had to buy tickets on other airlines to ensure the return, given the uncertainty of the statement issued by LAW.

Peruvian authorities ready airline sanctioning process LAW. The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi), a specialized autonomous public body of the Peruvian State, reported that it is preparing a new sanctioning process for LAW.

The organ indicated, through a statement, that it is verifying the infraction registered since last Wednesday 7 March to the detriment of passengers on the route Lima-Santiago de Chile, who are stranded at the Jorge Chávez International Airport.

The passenger Gabriel Soto Delano, who traveled with his wife to Miami on vacation, has denounced that the airline LAW left them stranded in that place and announced that the flight back to Chile that was scheduled for this Sunday, March 11 until after notice. He commented that LAW proposed that they buy the tickets with another airline with «silver out of pocket» which according to Gabriel means an expense of $ 1 million Chilean pesos per person. He pointed out that in addition to the expense that the passage means, they must pay for their stay until they can return. He asked for help from the Chilean authorities and requested that this airline be prohibited from running, being fined and sanctioned. Among the complaints he commented that during the trip, which lasted more than 10 hours, he was not handed over food to passengers, which is illegal. He made a public call to the National Consumer Service (SERNAC) of Chile and asked for help.

LAW gained notoriety in Chile and the region in February by leaving dozens of passengers stranded in the Dominican Republic. Earlier this week, it announced the suspension of its flights to and from the Caribbean. In addition, the Chilean airline had alleged the suspension of flights to Haiti due to the exponential increase of Haitian citizens declared inadmissible by the Chilean authorities.  A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

United studies would incorporate narrow planes

United Airlines plans to incorporate narrow-body aircraft

United Airlines is considering acquiring narrow-body aircraft to its fleet with potential options including Bombardier CSeries, Embraer E2s, as well as B737-7 MAX, said CFO Andrew Levy.

United Airlines would use these aircraft to increase capacity on routes currently received by regional jets under the United Express brand. However, any change is pending an agreement with the pilot unions.

United announced in January 2018 that it would incorporate an additional 40 CRJ-200 operated under a Capacity Acquisition Agreement (CPA) by Air Wisconsin to boost the United Express feeder service. The increase is within the scope of a CPA that the airlines signed last year, which covers a total of sixty-five CRJ200, but is only seen as a temporary solution by the airline. The new aircraft will carry the total number of CRJ-200 operated by Air Wisconsin and SkyWest Airlines (USA) capacity providers under the United Express brand at 125.

SkyWest, Republic Airlines, Mesa Airlines, GoJet Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines also operate larger CRJ-700, E-170 and regional E-175 under the United Express brand. Under the terms of the current agreement with the pilots, United can only operate up to 255 regional jets with capacity for between 70 and 76 passengers, and has already reached that number. Potentially, the carrier can replace the smaller regional jets with the larger ones, and the larger regional jets with small mainline aircraft.

Order-book

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the smallest aircraft on United’s main line is currently B737-700 s, of which it operates forty. The order book of Boeing 737-9 MAX (30) and B737-10 MAX (10) directly to the manufacturer Boeing. United ordered another sixty-five Boeing 737-700 in 2016, but later turned these aircraft into Boeing 737-800 and B737-9 MAX. A\W
