AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Aerolíneas Argentinas contracts in the market

Aerolíneas Argentinas analyzes reducing operations to decompress the threatened by the force measures against the strikes

The Aerolíneas Argentinas / Austral Group is fighting for the salary fight in a negotiation that has not progressed for several months. As an effect hides the stoppages of the unions has made itself felt with the latest claims for salary improvements.

Far from the claims of the different positions, the delays and cancellations could be constant while the joint is open. The measures adopted by the Aerolíneas Group would eliminate employees from collaboration that do not comply with the company’s guidelines, although it is a measure of little force compared to a general strike of activities for a prolonged period of time. affect the airline’s resources.

The conflict of flying

Last Friday six international flights were canceled. Since 1986 it has not happened that the pilots refused to fly early. Precisely, before a measure of force programmed, the previous schedule helps to reduce the consequences. In the day of last Tuesday they had to cancel flights from the 15 of the previous day. After the measure of force, they did not take rescheduled flights, a usual practice in the airlines for which the crew also charges an extra. In this case they have the right to do so, but in the company it was observed that the union gave real support.

The conflict between pilots, guilds and airlines has a complicated landscape. Airlines now wants to reduce the supply of flights to avoid airports full of angry people, thus, they simply and simply reduce the offer. The measure is extreme, since it would remove thousands of seats from the market.

Both the guilds and the managers of Aerolíneas / Austral are enroscados in a silent dispute, where none of them want to loosen the rope and revile the opponent. Thus, the unions undermine the credibility of the airlines at the most fragile point, the passengers. The indicators of punctuality tend to fall by these measures and the management is exposed to show unhappy numbers for airlines. Meanwhile, officials of the Ministry of Transportation, also want to play to reduce the credibility of the guilds.

The climax of the claims

The managers of Airlines communicate that the salaries of the pilots in Aerolíneas Argentinas are among the best payments. A commander of an Airbus A330 / A340 has entries for AR$ 360,000 pesos. Although not all, which is only a sample of the vertex of the pyramid and also is in the range of what a commander of a company like Air France or Lufthansa charges. But then they clarify that the problem is not the salary but the productivity: 48 hours 40 minutes of flight per month, unlike the average of 55 in European companies.

After 42% increase in 2016, the current management wants to close in no more than 20%, composed of 16% to which a non-remunerative additional is added, which is complemented by a trigger clause in case inflation exceed that number. The unions insist on 27%.

The Government’s position

The Minister of Transport, Guillermo Dietrich, asked the aviation unions not to take passengers hostage. The Minister of Transport. He objected that the measures of forces, as happened in the last hearing, ended up leaving thousands of passengers unable to fly. The demands of the unions fell on deaf ears.

Guillermo Dietrich, today reaffirmed the will to dialogue to reach an agreement with the aviation unions to avoid more stoppages, because the damage to Aerolíneas Argentinas «is tremendous», and questioned the leaders who promote strikes and «take hostages» to the passengers

The underlying issue that is discussed in the background is the company that is coming. In the government they say that the company in which the government’s checkbook was negotiated, in the previous government, as a guarantee was finished. Now it will be according to what the company can pay, they say. The unions are reluctant to the position of the Government of Argentina, either because their claims are justified or because they miss the old State checkbook. A \ W

Embraer pilotea transición al E2

AW | 2017 11 06 13:55 | INDUSTRY / AIRLINES

Air Astana ordena primer Embraer E190-E2

Air-Astana-Embraer-E-190-E2.jpg

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Embraer pilots transition to E2

Resultado de imagen para Embraer E2 pngThe Brazilian aircraft manufacturer recognized the «negative impacts on short-term results» of the E1-E2 transition

Embraer expects to place orders for between 85-95 commercial aircraft in 2018 as it moves from its current line of regional aircraft to the improved versions of E2.

In the first nine months of 2017, the Brazilian manufacturer delivered 78 commercial Embraer aircraft, mostly E-175 models, and the outlook for 2018 means another difficult year for the manufacturer.

Fitch Ratings recently noted that «Embraer’s transition to these new generation aircraft has resulted in lower demand and deliveries of the existing product, accumulation of working capital and lower margins».

Embraer has recognized the negative impacts on the short-term results of the transition and predicts that it will take at least three years for the company to return to significant profits for profitability and cash generation. This will happen, he says, once the acceleration in Embraer E2 (Stage 2) production is completed and the associated investment in the program is reduced.

E2 Program

The first E2, a 114-seat E190-E2, will be delivered to the Widerøe launch customer from Norway on April 24, 2018. The manufacturer also notes that after-sales opportunities for new jets should contribute to profitability. «Services and support for new products continue to gain relevance», he says. Embraer offers maintenance, modification, materials and other services in its ‘FleetSmart’ support program.

Resultado de imagen para Embraer E190-E2 png

In the short term, however, Embraer expects a free cash flow of US$ 150 million negative in 2018. During the first nine months of 2017 Embraer recorded a net cash outflow of approximately US$ 700 million. In the 12 months before, the company’s order book fell from US$ 21.4 billion to US$ 18.8 billion. The current order portfolio of commercial aircraft is composed of 152 current generation aircraft (E1) and 285 E2 aircraft.

Air Astana orders first Embraer E190-E2

When the prospects for Embraer are not so clear, the news comes from Asia with an order from Embraer’s E190-E2 bringing oxygen and more customers.

The largest airline in Kazakhstan, Air Astana, will begin receiving new narrow-body Embraer E190-E2 aircraft in November 2018. The aircraft will be used for short-range and regional flights of the operator, the Embraer manager said air operations Vadim Fokin in the Wings of the Future forum.

In total, Air Astana ordered five Embraer E190-E2. The new aircraft replaces the current E190-100. The renewal of the fleet will improve the profitability of flights over relatively short distances.

The flight tests of the Embraer E190-E2 began in May 2016. In total, Embraer received orders for 730 aircraft of the E2 family (fixed contracts for 285 aircraft have been signed). The agreements are signed with operators and lessors, such as Aircastle and Aercap. The latter will transfer the Embraer E190-E2 on long-term lease for Air Astana. A\W

Wizz Air espera beneficios

Wizzair_at_Memmingen_Airport.jpg

AW | 2017 11 06 11:22 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Wizz Air expects benefits

Resultado de imagen para Wizz Air pngThe airline Wizz Air expects to report earnings for 2017

Resultado de imagen para Wizz Air pngDespite the problems for several airlines lately, the low-cost Hungarian airline Wizz Air is expected to register increasing revenues and profits this year. The airline reports the results of the half of the year on Wednesday and, at present, analysts forecast that the revenues for the year will rise to almost € 2,000 million from the 1,570 million euros this year, an increase of around 25 %.

The underlying net profit after taxes is expected to be € 277.3 million for the year, compared to € 225 million, and analysts see an important growth opportunity for the airline.

The aviation sector has recently suffered some blows, with the collapse of Monarch Airlines last month, while Air Berlin became insolvent in August and Alitalia entered administration in May.

The owner of British Airways, IAG, said last week that he felt that some other airlines could be in a difficult period. Willie Walsh said a handful of airlines «will face a challenge this winter».

However, expansion plans at Wizz Air have continued to take off, as the company focuses on less mature markets. Last month, he reported that traffic increased by more than a quarter, with a capacity that increased almost as much. Its load factor, when assessing how efficient an airline is to fill seats, was also increasing. It has announced plans to establish a subsidiary in the United Kingdom to ensure that it can maintain operational flights in the United Kingdom after Brexit.

The London-listed airline said it had submitted an application for the award of an air operator certificate and operating license for the Civil Aviation Authority. Once it gets the go-ahead, the airline plans to start operations in the United Kingdom in March next year with several aircraft registered in the United Kingdom.

Wizz Air Chief Executive József Váradi said the move was a «natural next step in the development of our business in the UK and will bring additional investments and jobs to our base in the United Kingdom in London Luton». A \ W

SLM-InselAir acuerdo con incertidumbre

AW | 2017 11 04 16:36 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

SLM-InselAir agreement with uncertainty

Surinam Airways does not expect return from Insel Air

The Surinaamse Luchtvaart Maatschappij (SLM), is certainly not expecting a ‘relief’ from Insel Air. SLM Director Robbi Lachmising says that a new cooperation agreement will be closed in advance. Insel Air already disappointed him in his first performance. The passengers have been abandoned.

That was the beginning of this year when the airline Netherlands Antilles could not meet its debts. It was the SLM that finally had to fly to eliminate the stranded passengers. Lachmising tells the Times or Suriname that he is wondering if Insel Air has fulfilled its old obligations to passengers. The traveler should ask how reliable this company is.

Surprisingly, now it is also stunned with attractive travel rates. These are significantly lower. Insel Air must also obtain permission from Suriname’s aviation authorities. Lachmising is certainly not optimistic about it. He does not even wait for Insel Air to operate again in Suriname soon. The company had to stop its flights due to the safety of the aircraft. A \ W

Vueling estima crecimiento

AW | 2017 11 04 15:43 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Vueling estimates growth

Imagen relacionadaVueling, low cost airline of Spain estimates a growth of around 10% after a year of difficulties

The objective of Vueling is to stabilize operations and restore customer confidence. Vueling closed the summer (boreal) of 2017 without incidents for the first time in a long time.

1854d4feb156fd4928e0fa99f5f37a28.pngThe subsidiary of International Airlines Group (IAG), which also includes British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus, will close 2017 with an expansion of just 1.7%, an anecdotal figure compared to the summer of 2015 (19%), the first six months of 2016 (18%) and the whole of 2014 (15%). While the Catalan low-cost can even boast of being the most punctual in Barcelona, Rome and Paris, its three main destinations, during the summer season. The measures applied to avoid repeating the inconveniences cured in 2016 have worked and, after a moderate year, the airline wants to grow back above 10%.

2016 was a year of ups and downs for Vueling, causing delays, cancellations, claims and penalties, which penetrated deep into Vueling’s operations managed by CEO Javier Sánchez-Prieto. The measures implemented in 2017 reduced the number of destinations in exchange for more frequencies to the busiest airports and tried to deseasonalize the operation. It launched the Vueling Next program. The price to pay was sacrificing a year of growth to regain the trust of the customers.

The projections of the IAG Group

IAG presented its forecasts for the period 2018-2022 to analysts on Friday and drew a rise in seats per available kilometer (ASK), the metric to measure growth in the sector, higher than 10% for the subsidiary. The low-cost base in Barcelona-El Prat will be key to meet the objectives of the aeronautical group: an annual growth of 5%, an increase of 12% in profit per share and a gross operating profit of 6,500 million (+22 %). Vueling plans to grow above 10% until the year 2022.

Vueling’s experience in the mistakes of the past will allow us to focus on capturing the leadership of the Spanish market to Ryanair with more frequencies on domestic routes and to the main cities in Europe. The other leg of the expansion will be in Italy and France, the second and third countries of the airline, where it will be a key tool for landing the low-cost long-range radio.

Build a more robust operation in known territory will prevail over the adventures in other countries. Select opportunities will be sought outside of our main markets. The objective is to raise ticket sales and raise profits from the sale of complementary services, which were not currently exploited or were free. In return, the client will benefit from an artificial intelligence messaging service; a virtual assistant; the ability to pay through Amazon Pay, Android Pay and Apple Pay; and the integration of the Avios loyalty program. Vueling will reduce its unit costs by 1.5% on its aircraft and personnel. It will also adjust the cost section in the income statement as much as possible. Therefore, it promises to reduce the unit cost by 1.5% until 2022, without counting the price of oil.

large_thumbnail.jpg

On the other hand, the airline will soon incorporate the new Airbus A320NEO, which will represent 30% of a fleet of 150 aircraft, which will help reduce the fuel bill and the savings per km / pax transported.

The low cost airline will expand its resources with a less seasonal operation and increase the use of aircraft by + 19%. The staff will have an «increase in productivity» of the order of 16%. A \ W

Nuevas cancelaciones en Aerolíneas

AW-70089771.png

AW | 2017 11 04 13:38 | AIRLINES / AIR TRAFFIC

(AR).

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

New cancellations in Aerolíneas

The cancellation of seven international flights were scheduled for Friday and Saturday with around 1,700 passengers affected

The airline has reported that the rest of the departures are operating normally. Aerolíneas Argentinas reported that the cancellations of the flights are due to reasons of union nature and that the rest of the departures is taking place normally.

The Association of Airline Pilots (APLA) issued a statement last night denying that new measures of force have been adopted and blamed the company for poor operational planning. The airline maintained its argument. The affected flights are: AR1324 / Punta Cana / 4NOV2017 / 01:15 HS; AR1160 / Barcelona / 4NOV2017 / 02:45 HS; AR1302 / Miami / 4NOV2017 / 02:30 HS; 23:15 HS; AR1303 / Miami> Buenos Aires / 09.30 HS (AR); 5NOV2017 / 08:30 HS; AR1325 / Punta Cana> Buenos Aires / 04NOV2017 / 10:15 HS. (AR)

«The measure affects more than 1,700 passengers, and we regret again that, due to trade union measures, our passengers must be harmed, and we are working hard to mitigate the effects of the aforementioned actions,» the company said in a statement. The affected passengers were offered the reprogramming of the flight without any type of charge until November 30, using the ticket as credit for any other route and date «within the year of the original issue date, with penalty and fare difference in the corresponding cases», or the return of 100% of the value of the ticket.

The release of APLA

The Airline Pilots Association (APLA), one of the unions that groups the workers of the company, denied last night that new force measures have been adopted and instead, attributed the cancellations to a bad operative decision of the company. «As a consequence of the successive cancellations of international flights of Airlines, the APLA categorically denies that it has adopted any new measure that affects its operations», the union said in a statement.

APLA said that for months it has denounced «a 30% reduction in the number of pilots of the company’s long-range fleet, and stressed that the arrogance of the company chose to disregard these warnings. The means of communication, some of which are echoed, but the cancellations that passengers suffer today are the result of poor marketing, bad planning and worse execution. The pilots demarcated responsibilities and pointed out that reality determines that the need to workers (especially in the international sector) causes the firm to depend on insufficient guards and the goodwill of the crews, who fly on free days to be able to comply with the schedules».

Today, Saturday, the operations of Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral Líneas Aéreas are proceeding normally in both the Aeroparque and Ezeiza traffic, after the airlines had to face the cancellations of yesterday due to cross-border issues. the guilds and the airlines.

The programming of the flights for the whole weekend is carried out normally and no alterations of the flights are foreseen, they have informed from Aerolineas Argentinas. A\W
