Código de vestimenta de Saudia Airlines

AW | 2017 08 09 14:20 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Saudia Airlines Dress Code

Imagen relacionadaSaudia Airlines informs its passengers of the strict dress code on board

A dress code issued by Saudi Airlines, has caused some indignation. The Saudi airline informs passengers about certain clothing patterns not to be used on trips that may cause offense or discomfort to others, according to the Saudi airline statement.

The airline began to report on the proper use of clothing on your #SaudiaAirlines Twitter account. The stance establishes how other passengers can see one wearing inappropriate clothing for a certain culture as the Middle East. Although the style of clothing varies from culture to culture, the approach of the Saudi airline establishes rules for both women and men when exposed indecorosomente to other passengers.

Conservationism in airlines

The dress code details on the Saudi Airlines website show that the airline requires guests to dress in a way that will not cause offense or discomfort to other passengers. Some would not be surprised to see a strict dress code on Saudi aircraft, as the country follows a conservative version of Sunni Islam, but others on social networks think it has gone too far.

Saudi Arabia is known as one of the richest nations in the Middle East, it is also because of its reputation for restricting the rights of women, according to its interpretation of Sunni Islam, Wahhabism.

The specifications of the dress code resulted in a varied reaction. However, some passengers were unaware of the restrictions before flying and others, of different nationalities, were uncomfortable with having to buy new clothes at the airport or, in some cases, canceled their flights. A female Twitter user asked how the country can encourage foreign tourists while at the same time controlling the way its passengers dress. Another wondered if the code would also apply to the cabin crew: «Are the flight attendants wearing abayas?»

Undoubtedly, different cultures can enrich the human, but it is the airlines and international organizations that should establish clearer, more reasonable and more informative guidelines to each of the users without giving rise to offenses and allowing the free circulation of each one of the passengers in all the airlines in the world. Remate últimos Boeing 737-200 PLUNA

AW | 2017 08 08 11:09 | AIRLINES / GOVERNMENT

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

The auction of the latest Boeing 737-200 from PLUNA

In Uruguay was carried out the judicial auction of the last 2 Boeing 737-200 that belonged to PLUNA

The first Boeing 737-200 was finished without engines, was sold at U$D10,500 and the second Boeing 737-200 was in better conditions was sold at U$D27,000

The airline PLUNA was inaugurated on November 20, 1936 and closed in June 2012 due to a crisis that led to bankruptcy. The last judicial process of the ex-airline was the sale of the last two Boeing 737-2A3 that had the airline, these were the registrations CX-BOP S/N 22739 and CX-BON S/N 22737.

The process for the judicial sale began in 2015, but only yesterday they were sold to different suppliers. There are still some furniture to be finished, last vestiges of what was the main airline of Uruguay.

Uruguayan aviation has not had the best results when implementing an efficient policy for airlines, as projects such as Uair, BQB Líneas Aéreas, Alas Uruguay, and others have emerged and have not been able to survive as was once the PLUNA, extinguishing the illusions with tears in the eyes. Laudo arbitral del caso Aerolíneas

AW | 2017 08 06 12:35 | AIRLINES

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Report arbitration of the case Aerolíneas

The ICSID and the sanction against the Aerolíneas Group

The decision of the ICSID, the arbitration tribunal of the World Bank, is under study in the Treasury Department and has not yet decided whether to opt for payment, nullity or appeal

Aerolineas Argentinas (AR) was privatized in 1990. Iberia paid for it with 260 million dollars that got indebted to the same HR. It also delivered $ 1610 million in government securities it had acquired at 20 percent of its value, but that the Argentine government was recognized by 100 percent. The administration of Iberia was liquidating aircraft, foreign offices, routes, flight simulators and other assets of AR, until it was presented in 2000 in a call for creditors. In 2001, the Marsans Group took control of the company. It was a Spanish consortium formed among others by Air Comet, a signature that only for private charters without ever operating line flights.

Marsans continued to be emptied AA through fraudulent «leverage» techniques (leased aircraft and other goods and services paid for by AA used by Air Comet) and «cannibalism» (AA aircraft were scrapped and parts that Served were used by Air Comet aircraft). AA was virtually without its own aircraft.

Two weeks ago, the arbitration tribunal of the World Bank set its position on the claim that the Marsans Group (in fact, the fund that took responsibility for the litigation) held the State from 2009, for the expropriation of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Austral, Jet Pak , Optar and Aero Handling.

The award says that the Treasury must compensate the Spaniards with an amount of US $ 320 million, equivalent to about $ 5760 million. The decision will surely involve long moments of study of each of the 613 pages that the report has.

The Proxy may appeal the decision or, if applicable, request the nullity. If you appeal, an appeals court will not open since the ICSID procedure does not provide for this. What will happen is that the same arbitrators will review the award and, according to the same jurisprudence, there are usually changes in the amounts but not in the background, unless new facts appear. That does not seem to be the case.

Another option, which is studied in these days, is to request the nullity of the process. The problem of going down this path is that Argentina abused the resource in previous years and used it as a way to delay negotiations and payments. «Unlike other cases in which it was absurdly requested and without major grounds, there is a ruling in dissent that has some arguments that can help us. But there is still time,» said a Provisional source. A \ W

The service in charge of the South Atlantic Air Bridge has been suspended until 2019/20, which used an Airbus A330-200, could only resume once the asphalt track 13/31 of the Aerial Air Base Airport of the Ascension Island (Wideawake) was repaired. The plans for the resumption of flights to Isla Ascención are in negotiations for its continuity. A \ W
