Air Kiribati  y Solomon Airlines han firmado un acuerdo por el que se establece un nuevo servicio de aviación que une Tarawa con Honiara, Brisbane Int’l (Australia) y Nadi (Fiji).

Willie Tokataake, Ministro de Transporte, Información, Comunicación y Desarrollo Turístico de Kiribati, dijo en una ceremonia de firma oficial en Tarawa esta semana que el acuerdo incrementaría significativamente el acceso a la aviación en el remoto atolón de la isla del Pacífico Sur y al mismo tiempo Existentes.

“This service will be a major step up and will give the Kiribati people new options to travel beyond our islands,” he said.

The agreement comes after the Kiribati national carrier was granted its official two-letter IATA designator code – «IK». As such, service launch dates as well as schedules will be announced in coming weeks with an official launch to be held in Tarawa.

The development builds on an agreement signed last November for a new Air Service Agreement (ASA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Solomon Islands and Republic of Kiribati. A\W

Cambodia’s JC Int’l Airlines commences operations

Having secured its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from Cambodia’s Secretariat of State Civil Aviation (SSCA), JC International Airlines (Phnom Penh) commenced revenue operations on Friday, March 17 with a return flight between Siem Reap and Macau Int’l.

Using a pair of A320-200s, JC (Cambodia) International Airlines plans to roll out flights to Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville in the coming weeks.

Southwest Airlines ha presentado sus primeras rutas para la más nueva aeronave, el Boeing 737-8 MAX, ya que se prepara para recibir la entrega del avión re-motorizado de que era cliente de lanzamiento.

La aerolínea con sede en Dallas operará el 737 MAX a partir del 1 de octubre, con el vuelo inaugural de ingresos que sale de Dallas Love Field a las 07:00 para Houston Hobby. Luego continuará a San Antonio antes de regresar a Dallas.

La ruta de vuelo es similar al primer vuelo de Southwest el 18 de junio de 1971 – excepto que la aerolínea operó 737-200 entonces y había volado a Houston Intercontinental en lugar de Hobby.

Boeing 737 MAX 8 gana la certificación FAA

Southwest unveils first 737 Max routes

Southwest Airlines has unveiled its first Boeing 737-8 MAX routes, as it prepares to take delivery of the re-engined jet that it was launch customer of.

The Dallas-based carrier will operate the 737 MAX from 1 October, with the inaugural revenue flight departing Dallas Love Field at 07:00 for Houston Hobby. It will then continue to San Antonio before returning to Dallas.

The flight routing is similar to Southwest’s first flight back on 18 June 1971 – except that the airline operated 737-200s then and had flown to Houston Intercontinental instead of Hobby.

Southwest says it will launch nine Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft into operations on 1 October, followed by the tenth about a week later. It will end 2017 with 14 737-8 MAX  aircraft in its fleet.

The carrier will retire its remaining 737-300s from service on 30 September, the day before the 737 MAX enters operations. Southwest still has 86 737-300s in service, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.

In April, Southwest announced it will accelerate the retirement of its 737 Classics, to avoid pilot training complexities when the 737 MAX comes on board. The low-cost giant has orders 200 737 Max aircraft, comprising 170 MAX 8s and 30 MAX 7s. A\W

Boeing 737 MAX 8 gains FAA certification

The Boeing 737 MAX 8, the first variant of the re-engined 737 exclusively powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, has gained FAA certification.

After a more than year-long flight test program with four aircraft, FAA has verified “the design complies with required aviation regulations and is safe and reliable,” Boeing said.

The 737 MAX 8 is expected to enter service this summer with Norwegian Air Shuttle. Dallas-based Southwest Airlines, which placed the launch order for the 737 MAX, is expected to put its first MAX 8 into service Oct. 1, 2017.

Nueva imagen, misma visión

Andes Lineas Aéreas ha anunciado un cambio de imagen corporativa sumados a la ampliación de sus rutas de cabotajes en Argentina. El diseño presenta un atractivo colorido de rojo y gris que se concentran al final del fuselaje. La aerolínea «low cost» que comenzará a operar en el país planea llegar a 2021 con 8 millones de pasajeros transportados. Aprueban la ruta Santiago – Buenos Aires

Flybondi será la primera aerolínea low cost que operará en el país con aeronaves Boeing 737-800NG, según confirmaron los directivos de la firma Julian Cook y José Sicilia.

La aerolínea chilena Sky Airline ha renovado su imagen corporativa y se transformará a partir de mañana en una verdadera low-cost al bajar los precios en un 30% en promedio

La tarifa “Light” es un servicio con billete a precio ultra bajo y otro tarifa diferencial con servicios adicionales o “Plus”, además de la implementación de los servicios a la carta como maletas en la bodega y asientos, simplificando el cobro por equipaje deportivo, instrumentos musicales, exceso de equipaje y mascotas en cabina, entre otros.

Con la implementación de estas tarifas y los servicios adicionales, Sky Airline espera un incremento en sus vuelos. El precio de las tarifas aéreas bajará en promedio un 30% en el mercado chileno.

Con la tarifa «Light» o «Plus», el cliente siempre podrá agregar servicios a su viaje “a la carta” como un equipaje extra u otros en diferentes momentos del viaje a precios que premian la anticipación y la preparación del viaje.

“Hace dos años nos propusimos ser la primera aerolínea low cost en Chile y el Cono Sur y anunciamos que ofreceríamos pasajes de avión a precio de bus. Hoy, podemos decir que no solo cumplimos nuestra palabra sino que tenemos la certeza de haber revolucionado la industria aeronáutica con precios incluso más bajos que los buses, permitiendo que cada vez sean más personas las que puedan viajar en avión”, dijo el gerente de ventas de SKY, Jaime Fernández.

Gobierno da marcha atrás y deja en suspenso concesión de rutas aéreas a Avianca

El presidente Mauricio Macri anunció este lunes que el plan para mejorar la actividad aerocomercial incluirá obras de infraestructura que involucrarán inversiones por 22.000 millones de pesos para mejoras en aeropuertos, que junto con otras iniciativas generarán 25.000 puestos de trabajo directos e indirectos. Asimismo, en conferencia de prensa, el jefe de Gabinete Marcos Peña y los ministros de Transporte Guillermo Dietrich y de Turismo Gustavo Santos ampliaron el anuncio y agregaron que el Gobierno suspendió la entrega de rutas a Avianca hasta que se dirima el conflicto judicial.

Desde Casa Rosada, Macri señaló que el plan se trata de «una revolución de oportunidades» con la cual buscan duplicar la cantidad de pasajeros para alcanzar la cifra de 12 millones en 2019. Asimismo, destacó que con las reformas realizadas «Misiones, por ejemplo, podrá pasar de recibir gente desde 11 a 24 lugares y generar una revolución de empleos».

«Esto va en línea con el desarrollo, reducir la pobreza y unir a los argentinos», destacó el mandatario y agregó: «Lo que queremos es que las líneas aéreas conecten con el mundo».

Asimsimo, planteó que el objetivo se alcanzará fortaleciendo la empresa estatal Aerolíneas Argentinas, atrayendo nuevas empresas y mejorando la infraestructura aeroportuaria.

Más tarde, en conferencia de prensa, el jefe de Gabinete Marcos Peña y los ministros de Transporte Guillermo Dietrich y de Turismo Gustavo Santos informaron sobre la marcha atrás del Gobierno Nacional en la adjudicación de rutas aéreas a la empresa Avianca, que en 2016 adquirió la firma Macair Jet, del grupo economico de Franco Macri. Señalaron que fue por desición del presidente Macri y aguardarán a que se expida la Justicia para que no represente un conflicto de intereses.

Por otro lado, en cuando a la empresa Fly Bondi, Dietrich destacó que quedó a la espera de que concluya la documentación técnica y al mismo tiempo informó la aprobación de rutas aéreas para las empresas American Jet, Andes y Alas del Sur.

Vale recordar que el Presidente sumó una imputación en su contra por la adjudicación de rutas aéreas a la empresa Avianca, que en 2016 adquirió la firma Macair Jet, propiedad del grupo económico liderado por Franco Macri.

El titular de la Fiscalía Criminal y Correccional Federal Nº1, Jorge Di Lello, impulsó la acción penal contra el Presidente; el titular del grupo SIDECO, Franco Macri; el Secretario General de la Presidencia, Fernando De Andreis; y responsables de la línea aérea Avianca, por la posible comisión de los delitos de asociación ilícita, negociaciones incompatibles, defraudación contra la administración pública y tráfico de influencias en el marco de presuntas irregularidades vinculadas a la explotación del espacio aéreo argentino.

El expediente se inició por una denuncia de los diputados nacionales Rodolfo Tailhade y Juan Cabandié. En su presentación, los legisladores señalaron como eje principal del cuestionamiento la reciente venta de la empresa «Macair Jet» -del grupo económico liderado por Franco Macri- a la firma colombiana «Avianca» y las posibles contrataciones del Estado Nacional con dicha empresa.
