As of 04/05, the main Puerto Rico airport will have connections to the Dallas-Fort Worth/DFW airport and the Thurgood Marshall Baltimore-Washington/BWI airport, along with a link to the Chicago-Midway/MDW airport with six weekly frequencies (6Frq/S). In addition, it will develop a connection with Cleveland Hopkins/CLE airport from 04/05 with four flights per week (4Frq/S).
From 05/05, Frontier will begin the services from the Detroit Wayne/DTW Metropolitan Airport to the San Juan Airport/Luis Muñoz Marín/SJU with four weekly frequencies (4Frq/S).
Frontier will develop a service from May 2023 on the route to Denver/Den-Dallas-Fort Worth/DFW—San Juan/SJU with a daily frequency (1Frq/D).
The new international route of the San Juan/Luis Muñoz Marín/SJU—Cancun/CUN will begin its services as of May 25, 2023.
Frontier will enter the Orlando/MCO—Mercedita/PSE route in Ponce, from 04/05, with a frequency of twice a week (2Frq/S) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The company will face competition with the Spirit Airlines and JetBlue Airways airlines on this route from the southern Porto Rican Island.
The inaugural service Tampa/TPA—Rafael Hernández/BQN, in Aguadilla, located in northern Puerto Rico from 04/05, with two weekly frequencies ((2Frq/S) on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Frontier Airlines has launched in parallel GoWild! Summer Pass, which offers exclusive access to unlimited flights on cabotage and international flights from May 2 to September 30, 2023.

Los pilotos de la aerolínea regional Air Nostrum dan un abrumador respaldo a la convocatoria de una huelga indefinida. La tripulación de mando de Iberia Regional Air Nostrum, reunidos en asamblea el el 30 y 31 de Enero de 2023, han respaldado con un 92,37% de los votos la convocatoria de una huelga indefinida para protestar contra el bloqueo que los tripulantes técnicos vienen sufriendo por parte de la empresa en sus reivindicaciones durante la negociación de un convenio colectivo.
El Sindicato Español de Pilotos de Líneas Aéreas (SEPLA) decidió convocar una asamblea para decidir las medidas que tomarán en respuesta a la posición que la empresa, según critica, «impide avanzar en las negociaciones para firmar un nuevo convenio que fije unas condiciones laborales y salariales justas para los trabajadores».
SEPLA ha destacado el abrumador respaldo al sindicato y a la huelga indefinida. En un comunicado, ha lamentado que la actitud de la aerolínea «haya provocado adoptar esta postura al ignorar cualquier entendimiento y rechazar sistemáticamente las propuestas que, desde hace más de siete meses, SEPLA ha presentado a la empresa, incluso las que no tienen una cuantificación económica».
En la misma línea, los pilotos han reclamado que la compañía «no puede seguir funcionando a costa de las condiciones laborales de los pilotos». Además, el sindicato ha pedido que la convocatoria de la huelga «no sea una excusa para reanudar las coacciones contra los trabajadores, tal y como sucedió tras la convocatoria de huelga de diciembre».
Por su parte, Air Nostrum ha lamentado profundamente la intención del SEPLA de convocar una nueva huelga de pilotos y considera «injustificada la medida en el punto en el que se encuentran actualmente las negociaciones». La aerolínea ha asegurado que «mantiene su voluntad negociadora y estará en la mesa con los sindicatos los próximos días 7 y 8 de Febrero con la intención de llegar a un acuerdo con el colectivo».
Además, ha reiterado la oferta presentada en el SIMA en Diciembre 2022 con «un incremento salarial acumulado en los próximos tres años del 13% consolidado y un 3% más no consolidado en base a objetivos para los segundos pilotos, que en total puede llegar a un 16%. Unas cifras que están en línea con lo que se está negociando en el sector y por encima de la media de la mayoría de los convenios colectivos del país».

Rise, fall and demise airline strong ties to Jersey Islands
The islanders of the Jersey Islands, United Kingdom retain the historic regional airline called Jersey European Airways (JEA), formed after the merger of Intra Airways and Express Air Services. JEA was created in 1979, flying Viscount, Twin Otters, Shorts 360 aircraft among other aircraft in its time. Four years later, Jack Walker of Lancastrian, who had moved to the island, bought the airline. Under his ownership, it grew substantially. New aircraft, including the Fokker F-27 workhorse and BAe 146 Whisper jet, joined the fleet and its route network expanded.
Although the island remained a major hub for JEA, with aircrew, ground staff and engineers based at the airport, the airline’s goal of becoming a leading regional airline in the UK led to its name change to British European in 2000 and, two years later, at Flybe. By then, the airline had moved its headquarters to Exeter Airport. Exeter Airport is an international airport located at Clyst Honiton in East Devon, near the city of Exeter and within County Devon, in South West England.
In subsequent years, the company’s ties to Jersey were further weakened: its engineering base was shut down, and eventually the Jersey base was shut down entirely. For years, the airline had employed and trained Jersey-based pilots and cabin crew, but that pipeline of opportunities came to an end in 2014. Nevertheless, Flybe remained a significant carrier for the islanders. EasyJet may have become the main airline to and from Gatwick, but Flybe remained the main and often only airline operating to and from such major regional airports as Southampton, Birmingham and Exeter. It also signed a codeshare agreement with Blue Islands on inter-island routes.
Low flying reputation
Although often performing well on the punctuality charts, Flybe gained an unsavory reputation among the islanders for being unreliable, earning the nickname ‘Flymaybe’. Many islanders were therefore only mildly surprised when Flybe, by then sold by the Walker family, first went into Administration in March 2020, one of the first high-profile air casualties of the pandemic.
Eyebrows may have been raised higher at the news, in April 2021, that attempts to resurrect Flybe were being made by a global private equity firm, which had bought the brand for a nominal sum. Any last thread connecting the airline to the island of its ancestry was severed in March 2022, when Jersey fell outside the proposed proposed route network.
Re-startup
The now Birmingham-based airline would serve Belfast, Newquay, Avignon, Amsterdam and other routes, but not the Channel Islands. Services took off in April 2022. Amid a messy takeover of the new Flybe, the company was struggling to gain strength amid a global air services crisis and lacking liquidity to continue canceled all flights when it went into administration in January 2023, leaving thousands of passengers stranded and penniless.
