La aerolínea rusa Azimuth Airlines lanzará su primer vuelo el 21 de septiembre

Delta despide al «Jumbo»

La compañía aérea alemana Air Berlin, en dificultades financieras y a la espera de hallar comprador, anunció el martes la anulación de un centenar de vuelos debido al número «excepcional» de pilotos que declararon súbitamente baja por enfermedad.

«Actualmente nos enfrentamos a un número excepcional de bajas por enfermedad de los pilotos y por esta razón varios vuelos fueron anulados hoy (por el martes)» indicó la compañía Air Berlin en su cuenta de Facebook.

Según los medios alemanes, unos 200 pilotos de los 1.500 que tiene la compañía estaban de baja. El diario alemán Bild alude a una «revuelta de los pilotos» que habrían preferido recurrir a bajas por enfermedad antes que a una huelga, que les hace perder parte de su salario.

El presidente del sindicato de pilotos alemán VC, Ilja Schulz, aseguró al diario Rheinische Post que teme que los pilotos de largo recorrido de Air Berlin, los mejor pagados, sean los primeros en ser despedidos para sanear las cuentas y atraer a un comprador.

Air Berlin, abandonada en junio por su principal accionista, la compañía aérea del Golfo Etihad, se declaró insolvente el 15 de agosto pero sigue volando gracias a un préstamo de urgencia del gobierno alemán de 150 millones de euros.
