Air China ha abierto una sede en Cuba para facilitar los viajes entre La Habana y Beijing

Air China, abrió este jueves una oficina comercial en Cuba para fomentar la cooperación en el sector turístico que permitirá un mayor intercambio de viajeros entre ambas naciones y la región del Caribe.

En una sencilla ceremonia que estuvo encabezada por el embajador de China en La Habana, Chen Xi y el gerente general de Air China en Cuba, Zhang Xin, se dio apertura a esta sede que facilitará los viajes entre la capital cubana y Beijing mediante el vuelo directo que opera desde finales de 2015.

«La marca Air China ha sido cada día más popular en Cuba y los países caribeños. Desde hoy vamos a ofrecer mejores servicios a todos los pasajeros con esta oficina», expresó Zhang Xin en las palabras de bienvenida.

«Este vuelo directo ha desempeñado un papel importante en la facilitación de los intercambios personales entre China y Cuba, así como en América Latina, y ha contribuido en gran medida al desarrollo de la cooperación en diferentes áreas«, dijo Chen Xin.

Desde el vuelo inaugural de Air China a Cuba unos 24.000 viajeros de diferentes nacionalidades han optado por tomar esta aerolínea. «Han habido 156 vuelos entre Pekín y La Habana y hemos mantenido regularidad, seguridad y comodidad en todos sus viajes».

El diplomático afirmó que las relaciones sino-cubanas están en su mejor momento después de más de medio siglo de lazos y sin duda este vínculo directo ayudará a promover la visita de los turistas chinos a la isla. «Cuba tiene recursos naturales muy atractivos para los turistas chinos, gente muy cálida, así como un pintoresco paisaje, mares azules y hermosas playas», dijo.

Chen Xin dijo que la cooperación en el turismo y el transporte aéreo tendrá un gran potencial y buenas perspectivas debido al interés de los viajeros chinos de conocer Cuba y las diferentes naciones caribeñas.

Con una duración de casi 20 horas de vuelo y una parada técnica en Montreal, Canadá, el vuelo de Air China a Cuba es el único enlace directo entre China y la región del Caribe.

Aerolíneas Argentinas logró un récord de pasajeros transportados en julio. La aerolínea de bandera transportó 122.504 pasajeros más que en el mismo período de 2016, debido al crecimiento tanto de pasajeros de cabotaje como a destinos europeos. Aerolíneas alcanzó un récord de 1.142.054 pasajeros transportados durante el mes de julio, lo que representa un incremento del 12% en el comparativo interanual. El aumento fue de 16% en pasajeros de cabotaje y de 18% en pasajeros con destino europeo.

Durante julio, la cantidad de asientos ofrecidos por la compañía creció un 12,2% respecto al año anterior. Las ventas, por su parte, reflejan un crecimiento del 19,6% respecto a 2016. «El éxito de la estrategia comercial de la compañía, basada en promociones y campañas en todos los canales, elevó la venta directa al 39,4%, impulsada principalmente por un crecimiento del 34% interanual en la venta a través de la página web de la empresa», indicó Aerolíneas en un comunicado. En tanto el «índice de cumplimiento del mes», que mide los vuelos cancelados respecto del total de los vuelos programados, mejoró un 0,6% respecto al año anterior.

Récord pax transportados por día
Durante este período vacacional, también, se registró el récord de pasajeros transportados en un mismo día, al superar la marca histórica de 41 mil pasajeros. Los destinos invernales que más crecieron respecto al 2016 fueron San Rafael (86%), Chapelco (30%), Esquel (30%) y Ushuaia (9%). Silver Airways anunció esta semana una actualización de 1.100 millones de dólares a su flota, un cambio de CEO y negociaciones con una posible nueva aerolínea asociada

Silver Airways ha firmado una carta de intención para agregar 20 ATR-72-600 con opciones para 30 aeronaves adicionales. El presidente y director financiero, Jason Bewley, calificó el acuerdo como «un salto monumental para Silver Airways, nuestros miembros del equipo y nuestros pasajeros», lo que expandirá la presencia de la aerolínea en el Caribe y el Sudeste de Estados Unidos.

El avión de 46 asientos reemplazará eventualmente a 21 aviones turbopropulsores Saab 340A/B de su actual flota. Silver recibirá cuatro aeronaves ATR 72-600 de úlima generación este año 2017, y las entregas restantes se espera para el primer trimestre de 2020. Las aeronaves cuentan con cabinas más amplias, más espacio para las piernas y una tecnología de cabina más avanzada que la flota actual de Silver Airways.

Silver nombró a Steven Rossum como su nuevo CEO. LOS SAAB 340 A/B SERÁN DADOS DE BAJA OPERATIVA

Silver Airways había iniciado negociaciones con Seaborne Airlines, una compañía con sede en Puerto Rico que sirve destinos en todo el Caribe, para una potencial cooperación comercial.

Rossum está emocionado de seguir adelante con estos desarrollos, dijo. «El impulso de nuestra aerolínea, como lo demuestra el pedido de nuevos aviones de la serie ATR-600, el potencial para la expansión del Caribe y nuestros increíbles miembros del equipo, fueron razones clave por las que decidí unirme a Silver», dijo Rossum.

Silver Airways had begun negotiations with Seaborne Airlines, a Puerto Rican-based company serving destinations throughout the Caribbean for potential commercial cooperation.
