El Ministerio de Transporte de Argentina continúa trabajando para renovar completamente el Aeropuerto de Iguazú y potenciar así uno de los sitios turísticos más emblemáticos del país

El Aeropuerto Internacional de Iguazú (IGR/SARI) cuenta actualmente con una nueva torre de control, equipada con tecnología de última generación e inaugurada en 2016. Ahora se han iniciado nuevas obras de renovación en el Aeropuerto de Iguazú, uno de los más transitados de la Argentina, con casi 1 millón de pasajeros al año.

El Ministerio de Transporte de la Nación, junto a Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, dio inicio a la obra de ampliación del estacionamiento vehicular del Aeropuerto de Iguazú, aumentando así en un 122% la capacidad del servicio de estacionamiento para beneficio de pasajeros y usuarios. En proyecto está la ampliación del peaje de acceso y la construcción de una nueva calle frente a la terminal, para mejorar la circulación de los vehículos dentro del aeropuerto. En septiembre se iniciarán paralelamente los trabajos de modernización en la terminal de pasajeros, buscando ampliar y remodelar los espacios interiores para que sean funcionales al uso de las distintas áreas operativas del aeropuerto: hall de partidas, el hall de arribos y el área comercial, mejorando la eficiencia y circulación del aeropuerto. Se proyecta también la reconstrucción total de la pista de aterrizaje para el 2018, así como la reparación de las calles de rodaje para incrementar al máximo la seguridad en los vuelos. Se estima una inversión de alrededor de $1000 millones de pesos en total, que dejarán a la ciudad de Iguazú con uno de los aeropuertos más modernos del país.

Argentina está inmersa en un plan que lleva adelante el Ministerio de Transporte a partir de la inversión más importante que está teniendo este sector aéreo para potenciar su desarrollo.

El plan integral de modernización de los aeropuerto en Argentina incluye la modernización de la infraestructura en 19 aeropuertos del país, nueva logística, nueva tecnología de navegación aérea, y obras complementarias. La invesión destinada al mejoramiento de la aviación aerocomercial está estimada en unos $22.000 millones de pesos proyectadas para un período de tres años.
