La aerolínea dominicana de bajo costo Arajet anunció el Jueves 15/09 el comienzo de operaciones en la República de Colombia con vuelos directos que conectarán a Santo Domingo con las ciudades de Barranquilla y Cali, a las cuales se sumarán próximamente otras rutas adicionales. El primer vuelo comercial de la historia de la compañía, que partió del Aeropuerto Las Américas/SDQ, de la capital dominicana, aterrizó el 15/09 por la mañana en el Aeropuerto Barranquilla/Ernesto Cortissoz/BAQ. Barranquilla es la principal ciudad del Caribe colombiano. El mismo día por la tarde aterrizó en su vuelo inaugural en el Aeropuerto Cali/Alfonso Bonilla Aragón/CLO. Cali, la mayor urbe del suroeste, informó la compañía en un comunicado.

«El próximo 18 de Septiembre de 2022 Arajet adicionará la histórica y emblemática ciudad de Cartagena a su red de rutas y más adelante, Bogotá y Medellín. Con estas operaciones Arajet espera servir de forma directa con Santo Domingo a cinco ciudades estratégicas del país en los próximos meses», expresó la aerolínea dominicana.

El Presidente de Arajet, Víctor Pacheco Méndez, señaló en el comunicado que con llegada de la aerolínea a Colombia se busca «fortalecer los lazos comerciales, turísticos, culturales, así como impulsar oportunidades de desarrollo económico entre los dos países».

«El turismo internacional en Colombia está pasando por un gran momento y la llegada de nuevas aerolíneas internacionales al país es un indicador de confianza y posicionamiento de nuestros destinos, así como de los atributos asociados con naturaleza, cultura y biodiversidad», manifestó por su parte Gilberto Salcedo, vicepresidente de Turismo de la agencia estatal ProColombia.

Arajet, que cuenta con una flota de cinco aviones Boeing 737-8 MAX (5) de última tecnología, configurados para 185 pasajeros.

Expansión de Arajet

La aerolínea dominicana ha anunciado que el plan de expansión considera incorporar veinte destinos en doce países en los próximos meses, como parte de la expansión de sus servicios regionales. Durante los próximos días sumará nuevos destinos en Perú, México, Salvador, Aruba, Sint Maarten y Guatemala, así como a Toronto y Montreal (Canadá).

Grupo Abra busca concreción hacia 4Q2022

El Grupo Abra conformado por las aerolíneas fundadoras Avianca Airlines y GOL Linhas Aéreas continúa avanzando con las aprobaciones y el capital necesario para alcanzar las aprobaciones definitivas para conformar el grupo hacia finales de 2022. El grupo de aviación lo conforman las aerolíneas Avianca Airlines, GOL Linhas Aéreas, Viva Air y SKY Airline.

“En Abra teníamos dos grandes grupos de condiciones para cerrar. Un tema de aprobaciones y un levantamiento de capital. Estamos cerca de completarlas y hemos iniciado el proceso. Consistente con lo que dijimos originalmente, antes de fin de año eso queda cerrado”, señaló la aerolínea colombiana Avianca.

Avianca explicó los beneficios de este tipo de sinergias y pone como ejemplo el Grupo AIG. “Otras experiencias en el mundo demuestran que sumar esfuerzos, generar sinergias y buscar tener mayores economías de escala, tiene todo el sentido y suma competitividad no solo de cara a las compañías y sus resultados, sino también en cómo se potencia la oferta para que más personas viajen. En el caso de la industria aérea existen ejemplos como el de IAG (International Consolidated Airlines Group), un holding compuesto por varias compañías europeas, que aun cuando mantienen sus marcas y operaciones de manera independiente, se benefician de las sinergias y escalas que derivan de la conformación de una plataforma o grupo mayor”, explicó la compañía aérea.

Las aerolíneas del grupo conservarán sus marcas, talento, equipos y cultura de manera independiente. El equipo directivo de Grupo Abra se concentrará en generar sinergias que busquen lograr las estructuras de costos más bajas para cada aerolínea en sus mercados principales; en expandir su red de rutas, servicios, oferta de productos y programas de lealtad; y en desarrollar nuevos e innovadores productos y servicios que respondan a las necesidades actuales de los pasajeros y de los clientes de cargo en un mercado latinoamericano de transporte aéreo que es altamente competitivo. ITA Airways ha anunciado la incorporación de más vuelos hacia la región del Lejano Oriente como así también al Sudeste asiático. Para la presentación a la prensa ha elegido Barcelona (España) para presentar sus grandes novedades con un roadshow para reunir a los miembros del sector turístico español para conocer las ofertas que ha incorporado la aerolínea italiana.

La compañía ha detallado que cuenta con 28 frecuencias semanales (28Frq/S) entre Barcelona e Italia, con dos vuelos diarios a Roma/Fiumicino y desde el Hub principal con conexiones con los principales destinos internacionales e intercontinentales, destacando Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Nueva York, y próximamente Nueva Delhi y Maldivas. De cara a los próximos meses, crecerá notablemente en el mercado asiático, incrementando su cartera con tres vuelos semanales (3Frq/S) hacia Tokio a partir de Noviembre 2022, y hacia los nuevos destinos Nueva Delhi y Maldivas con tres frecuencias semanales (3Frq/S) desde Diciembre 2022. En el caso de las Islas Maldivas, entre el 23 de Enero de 2023 y el fin de la temporada de invierno europeo el vuelo sumará con dos frecuencias semanales adicionales contando con cinco frecuencias (5Frq/S).

Funcionarios de The Boeing Company dijeron el Jueves 15/09 que encontrarán nuevos compradores para los aviones Boeing 737 MAX que fueron construidos para aerolíneas chinas pero que no pueden ser entregados aunque la Administración de Aviación Civil de China (CAA), el regulador de aviación, ha aprobado el modelo para volar en el país. Boeing’s hopes were raised in December 20212, when China’s aviation regulator took a major step to allow airlines to resume use of the 737 MAX. In February 2022, Chinese airlines conducted flight tests. But the Civil Aviation Administration of China has not taken final steps to allow flights and deliveries of 737 MAX aircraft to resume, which Boeing officials blame on COVID-19 lockdowns.

Meanwhile, the company was running out of patience. “We have put off decisions on those planes for a long time. We cannot put off that decision forever. TSA PreCheck welcomes 4 new international airlines

The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced on September 14, 2022 that four international airlines would join the TSA PreCheck program. Airlines include Flair Airlines, Air Europa, Volaris Airlines El Salvador and ITA Airways. Passengers aboard these airlines departing from the United States can now skip the long lines at security checkpoints. Passengers traveling from the United States on select foreign airlines can now skip the line to security using TSA’s PreCheck program.

The four new airlines incorporated into the TSA PreCheck program are Volaris Airlines El Salvador (El Salvador), Flair Airlines (Canada), ITA Airways (Italy) and Air Europa (Spain). The airlines hope that the new fast pass through security offering will provide a competitive advantage in their respective markets.

TSA PreCheck allows passengers to skip long lines and arrive directly in front of the security checkpoint. TSA PreCheck is available to passengers departing from US airports on domestic flights, in addition to international flights. Passengers traveling from Nassau, Bahamas, to the United States also have this opportunity. Passengers returning to the United States may use the service before boarding a connecting domestic flight, but the service is only available to United States citizens, lawful permanent residents of the United States, and United States citizens.

Riders must apply for a PreCheck membership prior to going through security to be eligible. Applicants must undergo a thorough background check and be considered low risk prior to receiving a membership. Membership grants passengers unlimited use at more than 200 participating airports for a period of five years. Members will find one of the following labels on their boarding pass indicating that they are eligible for PreCheck: TSAPRECHK, TSA PRE, or TSA Pre✓®. The membership fee is US$ 85 for five years. Passengers can renew their memberships six months before expiration for US$ 70. New applicants receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) that allows them to use PreCheck services. Children under the age of 12 can undergo PreCheck screening with an adult with a valid KTN. Members of the United States Armed Forces are eligible for membership at no cost. Passengers who are also members of other DHS Trusted Traveler Programs may already qualify for PreCheck without obtaining another membership. Memberships included are NEXUS, Global Entry and SENTRL.
