Air Nostrum regresa a Argentina.

Flyest Líneas Aéreas took an adquisition of the old routes left by the former Sol Líneas Aéreas. In this way Flyest bought the rights of route that had the rosarina company.

Air Nostrum returns to Argentina. And it does so after the agreement recently closed for the purchase of 49% of the company Flyest, a new regional airline heir to the structure of the former Sun, a project that ended in failure, always the contacts initiated come to fruition.

This agreement comes after the visit to Spain of Macri last February asking for investment, which has encouraged Bertomeu to try again. And is that just two years ago the Valencian company 2015 made its first foray into the Argentine with Sol that lasted only three months. Sol was a regional airline in which the shareholders of Air Nostrum participated, and that it had an agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas, but this one broke it after the change of government at the end of the year 2015.

Now, based on that experience comes the new project in Argentina, because Flyest was launched a few months ago by the former directors of Sol and contacts with Bertomeu exist from the beginning. In fact, Flyest uses the Sun operator license and its rights to operate some routes. In addition, the company will use the aircraft that Air Nostrum destined for Sol.

The decision to return to Argentina by Air Nostrum is due to the liberalization process undertaken by the Government of Mauricio Macri.

The tentative routes for this company will be in part the old Sol routes and for this it will use CRJ-200 airplanes. Many of the destinations will be covered over the course of the months, as airlines must conform to the plan developed and the times established by the ANAC’s comptroller.

Flyest, will join Santa Fe, Mar del Plata and Rosario; In addition to Aeroparque with Montevideo. The players are known for the market: Flyest is led by who was the manager of SOL Líneas Aéreas, Gustavo Cebreiro. Likewise, the «new» airline will take advantage of the operating license of the company that ended its operations last year, in the midst of a great union conflict. For this occasion Flyest will focus on the regional market with a fleet of 4 model CRJ 200 Bombardier aircraft and an investment of 697 million pesos. «This is part of the transformation we are doing to promote air transport and with it, the connectivity of Argentines, the development of tourism and regional economies,» said Guillermo Dietrich in the presentation of the first plane that was carried out Last Tuesday at Aeroparque.

In the case of the Sauce Viejo Airport, «The first step that is taking place is the start-up of the airport, which will involve stopping it for 60 days, between June and July,» Jukic explained, and recalled that they are beaconing, Resurfacing of the track and remodeling of the station, with an investment close to 200 million pesos.

As for the Rosario Airport, the Santa Fe governorate has announced a strong investment to position the airport for the demand that will generate the opening of air routes in Argentina. A\W

Air Kiribati to partner Solomon Airlines for int’l service

Air Kiribati and Solomon Airlines have signed an agreement establishing a new aviation service linking Tarawa with Honiara, Brisbane Int’l (Australia), and Nadi (Fiji).

At an official signing ceremony in Tarawa this week, the Kiribati Minister for Transport, Information, Communication, and Tourism Development, Willie Tokataake, said the agreement would significantly boost aviation access into the remote South Pacific island atoll while at the same time build on both countries’ existing strong links.

“There is no doubt this new agreement will boost economic development opportunities and in particular tourism and export opportunities for Kiribati,” the Minister said.

Air Kiribati CEO, Tarataake Teannaki said his airline was excited to be working with an airline partner which understood the travel needs of both the Kiribati people and Air Kiribati.

Reorganization at LATAM Airlines

Historic LATAM Airlines reorganization: eliminates key cargo after exit from Cueto

Once Ignacio Cueto leaves the management of the company, the position of general manager will be eliminated. Yesterday the stock rewarded the firm again, rising more than 8%.

The surprises continue inside LATAM Airlines. Ignacio Cueto’s unexpected departure from LAN Airlines’ general management will not be the only change the company will experience, and a key position within the firm will also be eliminated.

In this historic reorganization being implemented by the firm, the position of general manager will be eliminated once Ignacio Cueto’s departure from that position ends.

The company announced Wednesday that Cueto will leave the administration – April 15 – to run for the board of the airline group, «in order to continue to contribute its vision and 30-year experience in the aeronautics industry,» they said.

According to the essential fact sent to the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance (SVS), the departure of the executive is part of a «reorganization that has been implementing LATAM in various areas of business and whose purpose is to build an administration for future challenges.» The idea is to build a simpler and more efficient administration, facing a complex macroeconomic scenario and an increasingly challenging competitive environment.

«This step is part of a natural process on which we have been reflecting as a controlling group in recent years. The agreement to leave the day to day of the company to be able to contribute from the directory my experience and vision of the industry is what LATAM needs today», Cueto said in a statement.

The present LATAM board of directors, composed of nine members and chaired by Mauricio Amaro, was elected at the last ordinary shareholders’ meeting held on April 28, 2015, and according to the company’s articles of association, For a period of two years, that is until the next meeting of this year.

Good welcome

The market continued to reward LATAM during the day yesterday. And after the fact that on Tuesday the paper soared 5.5%, yesterday the stock experienced an even more positive performance: reached its highest price since June 6, 2014, after rising 8.05% – its highest increase From July 2016 to $ 7,828.10.

And with good news broke the year LATAM. On Wednesday, the company reported a profit of US $ 69.2 million in 2016, compared to a loss of US $ 219.3 million in 2015, thus achieving a positive result for the first time since 2011.

BCI said in a report that the results of LATAM «exceeded market expectations». While Banchile Inversiones commented that the company «has certainly made healthy operational improvements. However, ongoing operating gains may also partly depend on exchange rate trends continuing in the right direction. Even more so when several discount airlines target some of the airline’s most important markets».  A\W

Southwest unveils first 737 Max routes

Southwest Airlines has unveiled its first Boeing 737-8 MAX routes, as it prepares to take delivery of the re-engined jet that it was launch customer of.

The Dallas-based carrier will operate the 737 MAX from 1 October, with the inaugural revenue flight departing Dallas Love Field at 07:00 for Houston Hobby. It will then continue to San Antonio before returning to Dallas.

The flight routing is similar to Southwest’s first flight back on 18 June 1971 – except that the airline operated 737-200s then and had flown to Houston Intercontinental instead of Hobby.

Southwest says it will launch nine Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft into operations on 1 October, followed by the tenth about a week later. It will end 2017 with 14 737-8 MAX  aircraft in its fleet.

The carrier will retire its remaining 737-300s from service on 30 September, the day before the 737 MAX enters operations. Southwest still has 86 737-300s in service, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.

In April, Southwest announced it will accelerate the retirement of its 737 Classics, to avoid pilot training complexities when the 737 MAX comes on board. The low-cost giant has orders 200 737 Max aircraft, comprising 170 MAX 8s and 30 MAX 7s. A\W

Boeing 737 MAX 8 gains FAA certification

MARCH 9, 2017

The Boeing 737 MAX 8, the first variant of the re-engined 737 exclusively powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, has gained FAA certification.

After a more than year-long flight test program with four aircraft, FAA has verified “the design complies with required aviation regulations and is safe and reliable,” Boeing said.

The 737 MAX 8 is expected to enter service this summer with Norwegian Air Shuttle. Dallas-based Southwest Airlines, which placed the launch order for the 737 MAX, is expected to put its first MAX 8 into service Oct. 1, 2017.

Certification of the MAX 8 comes two days after the next re-engined 737 variant, the MAX 9, rolled out. Boeing has secured more than 3,600 737 MAX family aircraft orders from 83 customers. Airbus’s re-engined narrowbody, the A320neo, has been in service since January 2016. A\W

The concession of the routes requested by Andes will allow us to continue contributing to the development of the country. We are convinced that each destination that adds Andes Airlines, benefits from more employment, more opportunities and development. We saw it in the season in Mar del Plata, with a very high level of occupation; We notice it in the province of Cordoba with an occupation higher than 85 percent and in a few days this will be reflected in Mendoza, when we start operating from March 20″, said Preneste.

Of the 136 new routes granted by the enforcement authority (77 domestic and 59 international), Andes will operate the following sections:

New image, same vision

Andes Lineas Aéreas has announced a corporate image change in addition to the expansion of its cabotage routes in Argentina. The design features a colorful appeal of red and gray that are concentrated at the end of the fuselage. The redesign of its «Andes» logo is smoother and the change of its isotype would be part of a structural change for an airline that has managed to survive political and restrictive attacks in the aeronautical field.

«We will maintain our policy of sustaining an efficient investment plan, with highly competitive rates and high service. This will be possible with the addition of new aircraft, a new reservation system and the strengthening and training of our staff», Preneste said.

It is important to remember that the president of the Nation Mauricio Macri, stressed in the official ceremony held on Monday in the Government House: «We seek to have a truly federal country that is connected in every way,» and clarified that Argentina is «moving» in that direction. The national president specified that the demand grows every second and that the routes incorporated by Andes Líneas Aéreas during the summer were a clear example of this: «Andes has put full planes in the same places in which Aerolineas (Argentinas) increased the frequency And also filled the quotas. «

On that occasion, the Minister of Transport of the Nation, Guillermo Dietrich, detailed that the opportunities are many and that none will be detrimental to the other, but in potential, since «there are twenty two millions of trips by plane of Argentineans who could travel And that today they do not travel by connections that do not exist, by frequencies that are not, by prices that are not convenient «.
