A I R G W A Y S-AeroparqueSABE-AEP

AW | 2016 05 24 19:07 | AIRLINES

Radicalism requires the AGN audits Aerolíneas

The 2016 budget prevents the accounting and enterprise management controls; in 8 years he received $ 30,000 million

A suggestive paragraph in the budget law 2016, which approved the kirchnerista majority in the aftermath of the government of Cristina Kirchner imposed a virtual «trap» control over balance sheets and management of Aerolíneas Argentinas SA, a company that, from 2008 to 2015 , he received just over $ 30 billion in subsidies while it was managed by the group La Campora.

Radicalism aims to reverse this situation. Yesterday, auditors Alejandro Nieva and Jesus Rodríguez, members of the General Audit Office (AGN), sent a note to Congress so that this distortion is corrected and allowed the principal organ of state control put the magnifying glass on the administration the main flag carrier of the country.

Until 2014, the AGN made several audit reports on Aerolíneas Argentinas, at both management and its financial statements. However, the year 2015, the last year the company handled Campora, was outside the control of the state.

This «exception» is founded on Article 17 of the 2016 budget law: there states that Aerolíneas Argentinas is governed by «rules and principles of private law (…) not to be applicable to any law or administrative rules regulating administration, management and / or control «

The Nieva and Rodríguez auditors want to modify this legislation, which prevents not only audit the airline’s past but also its present present and future.

In fact, underline the auditors, the airline has become a kind of bottomless on state subsidies.

«In 2015, the budget included a provision for Aerolíneas Argentinas of $ 4,796 million, which eventually amounted to $ 5,088 million. These were contributions that the State transferred the company to meet their financial needs as it recorded a deficit of one million dollars a day -indican the radicals auditors. for the year 2016 the amount totaled 3,881.6 million pesos, and to date disbursed $ 2,952.2 million pesos, representing 76% of the budget allocated. «

Against this background, Nieva and Rodriguez insist that the AGN must regain the powers to audit the company. They sent the corresponding request to the heads of block Let’s change: Mario Negri (interblock head of the Chamber of Deputies); Elisa Carrió (Civic Coalition) and Nicolas Massot (Pro) and in the Senate, Angel Rozas (UCR) and Laura Rodríguez Machado (Pro)

«Article 17 of the 2016 budget law implies a restriction of the power to control the AGN in the use of public resources -argumentaron-. It is primarily a self-limitation of legislative power to the external control of the national public sector in its economic financial, economic, and operational authority granted by the Constitution. «

Paralysis

Beyond these individual initiatives of auditors, the fact is that the main body control is at a virtual standstill. Two months ago the college of auditors does not meet the request of the blocks Let’s change in Congress, mindful of the legal situation of the holder of the AGN, Ricardo Echegaray, former head of the AFIP during the Kirchners.

Echegaray should provide preliminary statement last week before federal judge Casanello Sebastian, who is investigating the call money path K. If the judge were to decide to prosecute in this case, the ruling party in Congress push their removal as head of the AGN. Official argues that a defendant should not be in front of the main body of state control.

Pending judicial Echegaray situation is resolved, the other auditors decided not to give quorum at meetings of school, as requested by the dome’s change in Congress. This paralysis is already two months, while the control tasks and preparation of reports follow its normal course, the fact is that there are several audits and lists that can not be approved because the formal meeting of the school is not concrete.

The situation could be resolved during a meeting today that will keep the auditors to discuss administrative matters.

Controls were not made

  1. The Nieva and Rodriguez (UCR) auditors called for Congress to control the AGN balances and management of the flag carrier, as the 2016 budget prevents it
  2. During management Recalde, a member of the group La Campora kirchnerista, Aerolineas Argentinas received just over 30,000 million pesos in subsidies
  3. Until 2014, the AGN made several audit reports of the company, both accounting and management level. However, the last financial year, 2015, was exempt from controls
  4. Radical auditors consider that Article 17 of the 2016 budget, which prevents audit the airline, undermines the powers of control to be exercised by Congress
The auditors note to the chief’s change referred block. ᴀᴡ

A Greek F-16 jet takes off

AW | 2016 05 22 13:40 | SAFETY / SECURITY

Greece sends F-16s to intercept a Boeing passenger

The pilot of a Boeing passenger flying from France to Kuwait 15 hours after the disaster A320 EgyptAir stopped responding to air traffic controllers in Italy and Greece, presumably because they fell asleep, notes a source of RIA Novosti.

This version indicates that several Greek military fighters scrambled to meet emergency that plane for fear it were a terrorist act.

When the plane flew over Croatia and Albania «air traffic controllers in Italy did not receive response from pilots» and, after the unit left the Italian airspace (FIR), «Greek drivers also were answered,» so that Greece He declared a state of emergency and sent «two F-16» to meet the Boeing «has detailed the source.

Greek military aircraft arrived at the height of Boeing and confirmed that its pilots were in their places, but they were asleep. When flight attendants commercial aircraft realized escorting them some military fighter «went to the cabin» to find out what was happening and awakened those responsible for the device, which «had put the ship on autopilot mode» and had «an incorrect frequency» on the radio, according to clarify some Greek media quoted the Ministry of Defence in his country. ᴀᴡ

Greek F16s ‘intercept Delta passenger plane heading for Middle East hours after EgyptAir flight disappeared’

Greek officials scrambled the jets after pilot fails to identify himself

Two fighter jets intercepted a US passenger plane heading for the Middle East just hours after doomed EgyptAir flight MS804 vanished off the radar, according to reports.

The Greek F16 planes were scrambled after a Delta Airlines flight strayed into the country’s airspace over the Mediterranean sea and the pilots failed to identify themselves.

The passenger jet first appeared on radar at 7.10pm but failed to respond to frantic calls from aviation officials.

The F16s were then dispatched at 7.28pm and intercepted the Delta plane seven miles off the popular holiday island of Santorini.

At this point the pilot reportedly identified himself.

It is not known why the crew waited until fighter jets had been dispatched to make contact with officials.

According to the Daily Star a Delta Airlines spokesman said: «While transiting to Greek airspace, the flight crew of Delta flight 8957, a charter operation from Hahn, Germany to Kuwait, was unable to establish radio communications with Greek air traffic control for a short period.

«This occurred during a handoff between air traffic control agencies and communications were expeditiously reestablished.

«At no point did the Boeing 767-400ER leave its planned route of flight.»

The incident came just hours after Egyptair flight MS 804 crashed killing 66 people -including one child and two infants, seven crew members and three security personnel.

The flight lost communication with the radar tracking system after flying 10 miles into Egyptian airspace, at around 4.30am GMT.

Search vessels have since found human remains and belongings north of the Egyptian port Alexandria. The cause of the crash remains unknown.

70 años de KLM en New York

DC-4

AW | 2016 05 21 05:30 | AIRLINES HISTORY

 > 70 años a la gran manzana, New York

5ta Avenida
Volver a Nueva York.

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

70 Years to New York, the Big Apple of KLM’s Eye

On 21 May 1946, a DC-4 set off to New York from Amsterdam making KLM the first European airline to offer service across the Atlantic to the United States. Now, seventy years on, KLM’s North Atlantic route network is still one of the key gateways between the two continents. An excellent opportunity to celebrate and share a story about the past.

Amerika_ontdek_je_met_KLM

Of course a seventieth anniversary is an important milestone, but KLM has other destinations in its network that is has served longer. Most are in Europe and further to the east in Asia. KLM stayed closer to home in the early days, with flights to London, Paris, Hamburg and Stockholm. But there was always the ambition to connect the Netherlands to its colonies in what is now Indonesia. This is why the initial focus was on Europe and the East. One exception was KLM’s West Indies operation. But, again, the main aim was to connect the Netherlands with its colonies in the Caribbean and South America. However, this vision changed during World War II and developed rapidly in the post-war years.

Diplomacy

It was a long-cherished dream of KLM’s first president, Albert Plesman, to start scheduled service between Amsterdam and New York. Airlines in the US had developed a degree of protectionism – to put it mildly – and they were not about to welcome an outsider like KLM with open arms. Finally, with the help of some serious diplomatic talent, the Netherlands and the US managed to hammer out a bilateral civil aviation agreement thereby allowing KLM to fly the Amsterdam-New York route. In January of 1946, KLM initiated a series of test flights and, on 21 May of that same year, we were ready to go. The DC-4, a four-engine aircraft seating forty-four passengers, departed from Schiphol carrying a compliment of governmental authorities, journalists, KLM staff and a single businessman for New York.

Feather in the cap

The first flights included layovers in Glasgow and Gander, Newfoundland. What’s more, we had to prepare a few diversion airports so we had a place to stop in the event of poor weather. Speed was important, but safety was always more important. The total travel time of twenty-five-and-a-half hours included twenty-one hours of flight. The service started with two flights each week. However, the route proved so popular that, in 1946 alone, we had to add another thirty-three flights. In the years that followed, the frequency increased and, in 1950, we were flying to New York every day of the week. The route turned out to be an enormous success and KLM had a real feather in its cap.

Increased capacity

In those years, civil aviation was changing steadily but inexorably. The passengers were also changing. Aircraft were growing in size and airlines were able to offer greater capacity. Flying was an expensive proposition. But, precisely by introducing Tourist Class and, later on, Economy Class, flight became available to a wider group of people. KLM first introduced the new classes on this all-important North Atlantic route, where it was also using new aircraft types.

As I trace KLM’s history, I can see new aircraft being introduced regularly on the North Atlantic routes. The DC-8, KLM’s first jet aircraft, first flew to New York and the same was the case with the first Boeing 747-200, our first wide-body jet. That went hand-in-hand with capacity increases. Time and again, KLM saw the potential of the North Atlantic route growing and acted accordingly.

5th Avenue

Back to New York. That is, after all, where we began. From the very start, KLM saw this route’s enormous potential. Yes, it was a status symbol, but not only that. The development of Schiphol in the post-war years and the economic importance of cooperation with the US grew steadily in importance. So it came as no wonder that, for years, KLM had its New York office on Fifth Avenue – not exactly the shabbiest street in town.

In 1959, KLM moved to the corner of 49th Street and 5th Avenue, making it the single largest office that any airline had in New York at the time. Our “very own” Audrey Hepburn – who had a special connection the Netherlands and KLM – opened the office among much festivity. Fifth Avenue has long been known for its Christmas windows and KLM was not about to be left out. KLM’s Christmas window included constructions from the miniature Dutch city of Madurodam, all of which drew a great deal of attention. KLM had put itself on the map in The Big Apple. How do you make a small country great? Like this. ᴀᴡ

5th Avenue

Terug naar New York.

Soortgelijk. ᴀᴡ
