Mitsubishi has confirmed that it is working to eliminate its debts associated with the development of its Mitsubishi Regional Jet aircraft

The reports emerged in Japan over the weekend that Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation is looking to increase its capital by US$ 1.8 billion to cope with so much excess debt and go towards the achievement of the planned mid-2020 of the first delivery to the launch customer MRJ90 All Nippon Airways. It was said that the funds came from its parent company, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. However, a statement on behalf of Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on Sunday referred to the news reports on the informed decision to make additional investments in the MRJ and said it had not made such an announcement. Companies are working to eliminate their excess asset debts by the end of this fiscal year, however, no decisions were made.

The MRJ held its first public flight display in July 2018 this year at the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom. A \ W

Mercado chino de los narrowbodies

os-comac-c919-20170505.jpg

AW | 2018 09 12 16:50 | INDUSTRY

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Chinese narrowbodies market

Boeing, Airbus and Comac point to China’s need for 7,690 aircraft

Despite the great demand for aircraft projected over the next 20 years, the future entry of the COMAC C919, produced in China, may slow the sales of the Boeing 737 and Airbus 320.

China’s civil aviation market will be worth US$ 2.7 trillion within 20 years and the country will need an immense 7,690 new passenger aircraft as more of the nation’s citizens rise to the skies. Despite giddy forecasts coming out of Beijing, Chinese newspapers say the boom will not mean the usual winnings for Boeing, which traditionally made fat surcharges on the fleets of its best sellers 737 and 787 sold to Chinese operators. The new aircraft required by Chinese carriers in the next two decades will be worth a total of US$ 1.2 billion. This makes China the only aviation market in the world capable of flying over a trillion dollars. China will also need US$ 1.5 trillion in services for its expanding fleet.

According to Boeing, in recent times, about 30 percent of all deliveries were made to Chinese customers, and the company is fast approaching the delivery of its 2,000th commercial aircraft to China. About 52% of all commercial aircraft currently operating in China are manufactured by Boeing.

Commercial Aircraft Corporation (COMAC) with its new C919 aircraft from China, which will soon receive the airworthiness certification, will probably fight against a piece of the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A320 market. Even more worrying for Boeing, its filing cabinet Airbus and Comac are ready to file even more orders if the commercial dispute with the US continues to interrupt Boeing’s business in China. In the segment of single-aisle aircraft, which accounts for most inventories of the commercial aircraft fleet, alternatives to Boeings are easy to find.

A separate report from Aviation Industry Corp of China put the number of 6,100 new aircraft needed in China in the next two decades. The report, published in 2017, estimates that by 2036, the nation’s combined passenger jet fleet would reach the 7,000 mark, from the 2017 level of 2,818. In 2016 alone, Chinese airlines bought a total of 300 commercial aircraft.

Although narrow-body and single-aisle jets will continue to form the bulk of the national fleet in the next 20 years, China can buy more wide-body aircraft than any other country. These will serve Chinese carriers that open long-distance intercontinental routes to America, Europe and even Africa. Currently, China Southern Airlines, headquartered in Guangzhou, is the country’s largest airline by fleet size, although only 93 of its 572 aircraft are classified as wide-body jets. A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

The state of the Boeing 737 line

Boeing-Company-LogoDeliveries of the Boeing 737 line reached 48 in August 2018

Boeing delivered some 29 aircraft from the Boeing 737 assembly line in July 2018 and 48 in August 2018, compared with 50 aircraft delivered in August 2017. Total deliveries fell to 64 in August, from 66 units a year earlier and 39 units in July 2018

Deliveries have been delayed due to unfinished aircraft accumulating in the company’s plant in Renton, Washington, as a result they have generated production bottlenecks in their suppliers.

Still with this somewhat annoying picture, Boeing brings back the retired workers of his Renton Plant to catch up with the 737 production. The reincorporation of the retired staff is again hired to try to fix the delays in their 737 aircraft plant on the outskirts of Seattle, says the Union of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Analysts say delays at the plant, triggered by shortages of engines and airframes, as Boeing accelerated production to record levels in June 2018, could affect the results of 3Q2018 and threaten the company’s goal of increasing rates construction in 2019. It was reported that about 50 semi-finished Boeing 737NG / MAX were disseminated through the plant last week, several times more than the number observed in July 2018. A \ W

ATR busca reubicar ATR 72-600 de IranAir

Resultado de imagen para ATR 72-600 Iran Air

AW | 2018 09 11 18:41 | INDUSTRY / GOVERNMENT

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

ATR seeks to locate ATR 72-600 in the market

AW-7008884The Franco-Italian builder is relocating the remaining ATR 72-600 not delivered to IranAir

ATR Aircraft, the world’s largest aviation turbo-fuel aircraft manufacturer, is in talks with alternative buyers of the seven remaining ATR 72-600 aircraft that it has to deliver to Iran under a US$ 536 million agreement, the Italian shareholder has announced. Leonardo of the Avions Tránsport Régional Group (ATR).

ATR has delivered 13 new generation ATR 72-600 aircraft ordered by the IranAir airline in 2016, but has to secure licenses for additional deliveries from the United States that imposed new sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran last month.

The European aircraft manufacturer delivered five turboprop aircraft ATR 72-600 early last month just before Washington installed the new sanctions on August 6, 2018. The aeronautical manufacturer ATR seems to have given up requesting more licenses to the United States to the granting of more aircraft, and the executive director of Leonardo, Alessandro Profumo, has reported that ATR was looking for new customers for the resulting aircraft. «We are quite confident that we will complete the reallocation to other countries by the end of this year», said Alessandro Profumo.

The US decision on Iran has raised questions about whether ATR can achieve the goal of stabilizing annual deliveries on 80 aircraft by 2018. Alessandro Profumo has played down the consequences of the US blockade on the impact of US sanctions against Iran about future sales of the ATR 72-600.

The aircraft manufacturer had previously said it would suffer financial damage if it could not deliver the plane it had already produced after previous US approvals. The co-owner of ATR Airbus has an agreement with the IranAir flag carrier for 100 commercial aircraft, but has only delivered three of them. Airbus said in July it would not try to deliver more planes to Iran.

After the signing of a nuclear agreement between Iran and other countries in 2015, IranAir ordered a total of 200 Western-made aircraft. Boeing, which had sold 80 aircraft to IranAir, does not plan deliveries. Europe has been trying to portray the nuclear deal with Iran as an emblematic achievement of its foreign policy and a symbol of its growing strength, but its weakness in the face of US threats has undermined its offer. Iranian officials have pressured the European Union to save the nuclear deal through meaningful measures to secure Iran’s interests in the agreement. The leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said last month that Iranian officials should stop pinning their hopes on Europe to save the international nuclear deal. A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Advances of the Boeing 777X Program

Boeing-Logo.svgThe first Boeing 777-9X leaves the assembly line at Boeing Everett

The first Boeing 777-9X has left the assembly line at the Boeing factory Everett, Washington, USA. The new generation of the Boeing 777X has begun the process of certifications that the construction company will use for static tests and test type certifications. The Boeing 777X has gone through a process of almost a year of testing and testing to test the strength of the design.

Boeing is building two lines of a new Boeing 777X family, the 9X series and the 8X series, with greater operational autonomy. The Boeing 777-9X offers seats for more than 400 passengers, depending on the configuration options of an airline. With a range of more than 8,200 nautical miles (15,185 km), the aircraft will have the lowest operating cost per seat of any commercial aircraft. The second member of the family, the Boeing 777-8X, will be the most flexible aircraft in the world according to Boeing data. The aircraft will have a capacity of 350 passengers and will offer a range of more than 9,300 nautical miles (17,220 km).

The key to the enthusiasm lies in the economy of the Boeing 777-9X, which is 20% more efficient per seat than the industry’s long-term benchmark, the 777-300ER. The 777-9X combines the best features of the current 777, with a longer fuselage, a new engine and the wing design composed of the Boeing 787. Within the visual changes are also the windows that will have 20% more volume and a lower Altitude of Pressurization to reduce the jet lag (Jet Lag).

The GE9X engine certification tests began in May 2017. The engine recently completed the icing tests at the GE Aviation facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and continues the crosswind tests in the Peebles Test Operation, Ohio, United States. The engine certification is expected for 2019. The engine test flight to validate the tests in bank is fundamental for Boeing to provide hard data to the Australian airline Qantas Airways for its «Sunrise Project» to validate the Sydney-New York route and Sydney-London, nonstop capability for the Boeing 777X-8. Boeing is proposing an adjusted version of its Boeing 777-8X, while Airbus is pushing a similar modified version of its A350 aircraft.

The Boeing 777X will be the first commercial aircraft to employ the development of a pleated wing tip called Folding Wingtip. The wing flexion tests, by means of a set of pulleys, will pull upwards to flex to the point of fracture once a minimum of 150% of the point of maximum flexion in anticipated flight has been overcome.

First flight Boeing 777-9X

The second fuselage of the Boeing 777-9X line is very advanced and will be launched in January 2019 and will carry out its first flight scheduled for March 2019 and the first deliveries will start in 2020. The driving force behind the Boeing 777X program is Emirates Airline, converting the airline is the main customer with an order of 150 units.  A \ W

AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT

Boeing remains confident in 737

Boeing, analysts and investors remain confident in their line 737

Boeing-Company-Logo.jpgWhile Boeing 737 aircraft continue to accumulate at the Boeing assembly plant in Renton, employees are working long overtime and fighting for the planes to end. Boeing Management has assured Wall Street that it can fix production problems by year-end 2018, although some front-line workers at Boeing remain skeptical.

Boeing has currently parked 53 airplanes that are parked this week in front of the Boeing Renton plant. The workers inside the factory were feeling the pressure of constant overtime and an incessant buildup of unfinished tasks. Although Boeing assured Wall Street analysts that they visited Seattle on Wednesday, that the accumulation of Boeing 737 aircraft peaked and will be resolved by the end of the year, some front-line workers were less optimistic.Resultado de imagen para Boeing 737 parked Renton

The planes waiting to be delivered filled the ramps along the edges of the Renton Municipal Airport on Tuesday, were parked on one of the taxiways and parked in all available spaces on the Boeing site, along the lake and between buildings. Of these, 38 were the new 737 MAX model, 14 of them without engines. The delays in the delivery of the new LEAP engines of the MAX model, manufactured by CFM International, are only one of the bottlenecks that cause the accumulation. The engine supply improves significantly. However, the shortage of other parts means that the amount of work pending in the developing reactors in Renton continues to grow.

Boeing’s internal documents showing detailed operational data seen by the Seattle Times indicate that on August 30, 2018, Boeing Renton had approximately 26,600 overdue jobs. One week later, on Thursday 6 September, that total had increased to approximately 31,000 backlog jobs.

One worker said that Boeing has set an overwhelming goal of no more than 50 late jobs per aircraft by assembly at the end of October, which would represent a total of approximately 1,500 jobs. These totals include final assembly, wing fabrication and pre-flight tests. Each job is a discrete task, each one varies in complexity and the time and resources necessary to complete it.

A job such as a pressure test of the finished plane will take several hours, and no other work on the plane is possible while it is in progress. Smaller jobs, such as the installation of electronic modules, can be done more quickly and completely while mechanics do other work elsewhere on the plane. Finishing work in the field that is normally done inside the factory consumes much more time and resources, since the equipment must be taken to the aircraft. Such out-of-sequence work, often referred to as «traveled work,» can take two or three times longer to perform than if it is carried out on the assembly line. In addition, all parked aircraft have to constantly shuffle to be worked, a process that takes a long time. On a typical day last week, 17 planes had to be moved from one place on the Renton site to another, an internal Boeing document shows. A \ W
