AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

Chilean Airways prepares began operations

The Chilean company based in Chile Airways will start operations in the coming days after making the corresponding check

For the start of commercial operations of passenger and cargo has registered a Boeing CC-CVI 737-200ADV with registration. This aircraft was equipped and relizado its exterior painted in SAE facilities in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

The Boeing 737-200ADV was built by Boeing with serial number SN22367 LN: 706, belonging to the Boeing 737-2Q3 version. His first operational flight was made EL 01/10/1980. It was originally set up to Y120, using two engines PW JT8D-17.

The operating life of the Boeing 737-200 SN22367 Southwest Airlines began with the November 13, 1980, continuing with operators such as Japan Transocean, FSB, then through LanPerú, LAN Chile, LAN Express, Sky Airline and Aero Desierto in 1 May 2015. his latest operator is Chilean Airways will begin flights soon. The aircraft has to date an age of 35.7 years.

The test flights and acceptance were done, hoping that this week the plane is moved to Iquique, a city that will be the base of operations of Chilean Airways.

Chilean Airways is a new airline based in the Republic of Chile, owned by businessman Jose Bolivar, who acquired AeroDesierto S.A. (ADA) after the latter was put on sale after the cessation of their limited operations in May and June 2015. At the moment, the airline will use the same Air Operator Certificate (AOC) of AeroDesierto, also exploited part of its technical and human resources.

Unlike its predecessor, Chilean Airways proposes a new commercial strategy within an approach that aims to develop an air connectivity in northern Chile at home and abroad to countries like Bolivia or Paraguay.

One of the first measures taken by the new owner was, for example, the transfer of the base and commercial Calama to Iquique. From this city, you want to develop passenger and cargo routes to destinations all over Chile in the North Grande, mainly through direct and nonstop flights, avoiding as far as possible, incurring additional costs that may complicate the operation.

Meanwhile, as part of the measures taken, the company reached an agreement with ONE Airlines to lend air services during the maintenance period using B737-300. A decision is meant as assertively as part of seeking opportunities for income generation necessary to enable overcome the first and most difficult stage of operation while open space in the complex Chilean air market.

Chilean Airways is the last of the new airlines that have been created in Chile and the one that has done it under a highly challenging of considering the current economic context scenario. In its proposal, the airline hopes to «provide excellent service passenger, cargo and mails with next-generation aircraft, in order to meet all the demands of regular travelers and tourists.» His vision in the airline industry «is nationally and internationally operating with a return that positively influence its partners and employees.» Safety, efficiency, professionalism and punctuality, are the values assumed by this new venture. A\W

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

The Brexit effect in Europe and the world

The break with the European Union. It Cameron’s government fell. Scotland and Ireland, European pro, want to leave the UK. A climate of grief and joy away from the British seized before the triumph of Brexit (Exit Britain), who voted massively but nobody imagined it could win

Britain, with an old democracy and proud nationalist, was submerged in a state that was deeply uncomfortable: uncertainty self-inflicted, thanks to a historic and impredecidibles consequences referendum. Fear of dismantling the UK is underway. Scotland and Northern Ireland have called for a referendum to secede from the kingdom. A referendum that changed Britain for many generations to come.

With 62% of vote, Scotland decided to follow in the EU compared with 38% in favor of «Brexit» (output). In Northern Ireland he won the «In» (stay) with 55.7% of the vote against 44.2% for the «out» (quit).

Following the outcome of the British referendum which approved the departure of the European Union in the UK, begin to occur the first reactions in the field of aeronautics.

During the meeting of shareholders of IAG, held in Madrid on June 16, Willie Walsh, CEO of the Hispanic-British group (with registered office in Madrid) said about the possible departure of the United Kingdom of the European Union, long term did not provide significant impact. Now, after the vote, IAG has issued the following statement in which reaffirm this point, but warn of possible short-term impact: «International Consolidated Airlines Group, S.A. (IAG) considers the vote to leave the European Union will have a material long-term impact on your business. In the short term however, during the pre-referendum period in the UK in June, IAG has experienced weaker than expected operating environment. Following the outcome of the referendum in the UK, and given the current market volatility, although IAG continues to expect a significant increase in operating profit this year, no longer expected to generate an absolute increase in the benefit of the same operations to registered in 2015. IAG will update the market in due course.»

Meanwhile, the Airlines Association of European Regions (ERA), has issued this other statement signed by its CEO, Simon McNamara: «Following the vote in the UK on June 23 to leave the EU, time will tell what this vote mean for the aviation sector in the UK, and the European wide. Aviation is a global industry that works best in an environment without borders where the free movement of persons allows airlines to carry passengers without any problems or complications.

«It was represents its 53 member airlines at the highest level in Europe. Our airlines are facing similar challenges and ERA protect and safeguard their interests regardless of whether they are members of the EU, the European Common Aviation Area, or have chosen to negotiate a bilateral aviation agreement with the European Union or a European country. Through our extensive experience, ERA will continue to support our members flying to, from and within the UK, as becomes clearer what the implications of the vote for the aviation industry will be «.

RYANAIR the «Remain»
Before voting, Ryanair launched a promotion: «Fly Home to Vote Remain» «to ensure that British citizens expatriates can fly home and vote in favor of remaining in the referendum.» In this promotion offered Ryanair flights to all UK airports from only 19.99 euros to travel on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June. The airline expanded in 24 hours this promotion «after supporters of EU output (Leave) Ryanair denounced the campaign launched by the Metropolitan Police campaign,» they said from Ryanair.

Among the reasons given by the airline Irish flag to position themselves to stay, they were employing more than 3,000 people in 13 bases having at airports in the UK and transports more than 41 million passengers each year between this country and Europe. That in his opinion the permanence generate more jobs and better economic growth in the UK; and that «the free movement of goods and services has made the UK one of the most competitive and best performing economies in Europe. The reforms negotiated by David Cameron protect the British pound, immigration restrictions and closer to the Union, while reducing bureaucracy «. And finally that «Foreign investment in the UK will be lost for Ireland and Germany if Britain out of Europe.»

Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O’Leary said at the time on the occasion of this campaign support to stay: «The Campaigner for leaving the EU have to be very desperate to oppose the low-cost for British citizens. As the largest airline in the UK, Ryanair is clear that the country’s economy and its future growth prospects are stronger as a member of the European Union, just five weeks after the referendum, we will continue working hard to help vote for permanence is resounding and ensure that madmen who advocate withdrawal from the EU does not prohibit the low cost.» A\W

Southwest delays delivery of 67 Boeing 737 MAX 8

Southwest Airlines will delay delivery of the aircraft by as long as six years as it focuses on near-term technology and operational improvements

Southwest Airlines will postpone delivery of 67 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft by as many as six years, pushing $1.9 billion of spending on planes into the next decade.

The airline also plans to accelerate six 737-800 orders to next year from 2018 to help cover the already announced early retirement of its oldest 737s. The moves are the second shake-up of Southwest’s aircraft order book since 2013 and were unveiled in a presentation to investors Thursday.

The new schedule doesn’t change Southwest’s plans to take the first delivery of the MAX 8, Boeing’s newest version of the 737, next year. The changes will help control capital spending as Southwest invests in technology updates during the next five years that will bolster its flight operations. The carrier will roll out a new domestic reservation system in 2017.

“It has nothing to do with the MAX. The MAX is a fabulous airplane and we will fly it in 2017,” Chief Financial Officer Tammy Romo said. “It really is shells, or the number of aircraft.”

The moves underscore the risk for Boeing and Airbus as they introduce new, fuel-efficient versions of their 737 and A320 narrowbody models. The plane makers are also plotting an increase in single-aisle production to take advantage of order books largely sold out through the end of the decade.

Southwest pioneered the low-cost carrier model that helped make the 737 into Boeing’s all-time best-seller. The airline is the largest operator of the aircraft as well as one of the largest buyers of the upgraded MAX, with 200 orders.

But Southwest also has become one of the biggest customers of cheap, middle-aged 737s on to the market as airlines retrench or upgrade to newer versions.

The Dallas-based carrier has lined up dozens of used aircraft to make up for the early retirements of its so-called 737 Classic fleet, which it will park by late next year.

Boeing shifted around production slots to accommodate Southwest’s strategy, said Boeing spokesman Doug Alder. It had no trouble finding other takers given its backlog of 3,213 unfilled MAX orders. A\W

Aerolíneas enfocaría en mejorar servicio

2819436

AW | 2016 06 24 20:27 | AIRLINES MARKET

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

Aerolíneas would focus on improving service

The owner of Aerolíneas Argentinas* explained that his administration will «focus on service» as they improve on that side «will be the differential that will make us competitive in the future»

Possible arrivals Argentine aviation market Ryanair low-cost airline (low cost) Irish, and Avianca, which bought MacAir, the company of the Macri family, do not seem to worry for the moment Isela Costantini, head of Aerolíneas Argentinas. Or at least that’s what he wants to appear.

«I’m not worried at the moment but I think if we have to focus on service. We have many opportunities to improve care for our passengers and that will be the difference that will make us competitive in the future».

Far from believing that would be detrimental to the flag carrier, Costantini challenged: «Hopefully come and help us lower our costs.»

Declan Ryan, co-founder of Ryanair, acknowledged that his arrival in Argentina «is only a matter of time» and hinted that it will be in 2017: «If life is good to us and we achieved some Irish luck, hope Viva is working in many countries of Latin America, including Argentina next year.»

The former General Motors could not avoid referring to the dispute he had with the national government, Gustavo Lopetegui and Mario Quintana through, and the Ministry of Transport by the budget. Earlier this year, Costantini had estimated it would need a billion dollars, a figure that macrista administration never even considered. An agreement between the parties took the cap to USD 420 million but finally the government itself imposed a limit of 260 million.

Costantini confirmed that, after almost 100 million dollars received in the first quarter, the goal is to work from now on with USD 170 million. «We’re working If we see opportunities that we can rely on fewer subsidies will. let’s go for less.»

However, he puts cold cloths: «It is important to understand that the situation in the country is demanding what level of subsidy may have Aerolíneas Argentinas Unlike other ministries, is a company that generates revenue Our obligation that is how we can generate more revenue.. and less deficit. The government needs to reduce subsidies in various sectors. The idea is to keep working and improving. «

With respect to routes and flights, the Group President Aerolíneas was very excited: «We have not seen declining demand, the flight still full It was a very positive high season We remain very optimistic despite the drop in Brazil».

He said that growth had both international and cabotage as exemplified that «Miami, New York and Madrid are very positive». However, he acknowledged that «some destinations remain deficient» but they are «studying all routes». A\W

Continúa investigación por el MH370

AW | 2016 06 24 19:33 | AIR INVESTIGATION

AIRGWAYS ® Icon-AW

Continue research by the MH370

Section of plane wing found off East Africa could be from MH370

Part of an aircraft wing found on an island off Tanzania in East Africa could be the largest piece of MH370 recovered to date, if it is confirmed as coming from the missing Boeing 777.

Federal Transport Minister Darren Chester issued a statement about the debris found by locals on Pemba Island, more than 6000 kilometres from the current search zone.

Pictures posted by Jamii Forums on Twitter show the part is indeed larger than anything else found to date that has been determined to “almost certainly” come from MH370.

Mr Chester said the Australian Transport Safety Bureau was seeking further information on the debris to ascertain whether it was part of the Malaysia Airlines’ aircraft. If it is confirmed as being from MH370, it will be the furtherest north debris has been found to date.

Other items have been discovered on Reunion Island, Mauritius, Mozambique and South Africa. Debris found in Madagascar this month is still awaiting retrieval by Malaysia for examination. A\W

The «Brexit» and the impact on aviation

Airline stocks take a hit on concerns over a weaker British currency and a possible economic slowdown

London, UK · European airlines were among the hardest hit by the market turbulence Friday, following the startling decision by Britons to leave the European Union.

Airline stocks fell sharply on concerns a weaker British currency and possible slowdown in the wider European economy would curtail demand for air travel. The result of the vote also puts into doubt international agreements governing air traffic rights to and from the U.K.

While much hinges on the broader economic fallout, the effect on business quickly became clear. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA, which owns British Airways, Ireland’s Aer Lingus and Spanish carriers Iberia and Vueling, issued a surprise profit warning on Friday.

“In the run-up to the U.K. referendum during June, IAG experienced a weaker-than-expected trading environment,” the London-based company said, adding it no longer expected to reach its full-year target of an operating profit increase on par with last year’s. The operating profit target was around €3.2 billion ($3.6 billion).

The U.K. is one of Europe’s biggest aviation markets and home to some of the region’s largest airlines, including British Airways and EasyJet, Europe’s No. 2 discount carrier.

Europe’s largest airline, Irish discounter Ryanair Holdings PLC, uses London Stansted airport as one of its main bases.

“We expect airlines serving the U.K. market to face immediate weaker outbound leisure demand, as the pound weakens and business travel declines given economic and political uncertainty,” HSBC analyst Andrew Lobbenberg said.

The International Air Transport Association projected the number of air passengers traveling to and from the U.K. could drop by 3% to 5% from its previous forecast.

EasyJet Chief Executive Carolyn McCall said the company has asked the U.K. government and European Commission “to prioritize the U.K. remaining part of the single EU aviation market, given its importance to trade and consumers.”

Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O’Leary said ahead of the referendum the airline’s growth in the U.K. could be slowed if the country leaves the EU. Ryanair didn’t address the effect of the vote in its business plans, only saying a seat-sale linked to the referendum had drawn strong interest.

Peter Simpson, chief executive of bmi regional, a smaller carrier operating mainly from regional cities, signaled the airline may reconsider being based in Britain. “Our continued business domicile as a U.K. entity is less than clear at this point in time,” he said. The carrier had expanded heavily outside the U.K., he said, so it is wary of potential barriers to that growth.

The EU’s single aviation market, which allows any airline within the region to fly to any city in the bloc, has spurred air travel and profits for many of the region’s airlines. The agreement also governs traffic rights with countries overseas, including services from the U.S. to London, the single-largest destination for trans-Atlantic flights.

“All of this facilitates greater competition between airlines and, working effectively, results in lower fares and more choice for passengers,” lawyers at Eversheds said ahead of the referendum.

British politicians now will have to negotiate new rules for the skies. Options include becoming an adjunct member to the European single aviation market, like Norway and a few other non-EU countries. It could also pursue a bilateral agreement with the EU similar to that agreed by Switzerland; or a hodgepodge of separate deals with the EU, the U.S. and other countries, industry experts said.

Pablo Mendes de Leon, professor of air law at Leiden University, said adjunct membership in the European aviation market may be unlikely, because it would subject the U.K. to European regulations with little say to influence them. A more likely option would be establishing bilateral agreements with EU member states, he said, which may vary.

Traffic rights between the U.S. and Britain could revert to an old and highly restrictive bilateral agreement, called «Bermuda 2», that limited flights and access to London Heathrow, said John Byerly, the former chief U.S. aviation treaty negotiator. Both sides would likely move quickly, though, to a more liberal deal, he said, which would preserve existing services and pacts such as those between American Airlines Group Inc. and British Airways, and Delta Air Lines Inc. and Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. A\W
