AW-70007655.jpg4,600 Boeing 737 MAX to be delivered

Boeing-Logo.svg.pngBoeing has accumulated orders for 4,600 737 MAX aircraft for delivery

The airlines have faced operational difficulties after the global grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX. The model was banned in March 2019 after a series of accidents in the previous months. While the airlines wait for the approval to operate these aircraft again, the American builder has accumulated an order book of 4,600 orders pending delivery.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes presented the new fourth-generation series with a public announcement on August 30, 2011. The first 737 MAX made its first flight on January 29, 2016. The series was FAA-certified in March 2017. The first installment was a MAX 8 in May 2017 to Malindo Air that put the plane into service on May 22, 2017.

The 737 MAX series has been offered in four variants, which generally offer 138 to 230 seats and a range of 3,215 to 3,825 nmi (5,954 to 7,084 km). The 737 MAX 7, MAX 8 (including the MAX 200 of 200 denser seats) and MAX 9 are intended to replace the 737-700, -800 and -900, respectively. An additional length is offered with the 737 MAX 10. The Boeing 737 MAX received 5,008 firm orders and delivered 387 aircraft.

As the American manufacturer continues to repair the problems that caused its grounding, these orders are likely to remain late. Over 2,500 global orders were placed for the 737 MAX in February 2019, the last month after the ban on flying. Therefore, most of these orders remain unfulfilled along with many previous orders.

64887a48b9338b6a09822cef53cb5617.png

Large order book

Southwest Airlines placed more of these orders than any other airline with 280 units requested. Although, only 31 units had been delivered to the US carrier with 249 remaining to deliver. Flydubai is the second-largest airline by a number of orders that have not yet been fulfilled. The airline based in the United Arab Emirates was expecting 237 aircraft of its order of 251. Despite the unfortunate accident, Lion Air made an order for 201 737 MAX. Indonesians only received 7% of their orders. VietJet Air is another airline that placed a considerable order with 200 units. However, the Vietnamese airline did not receive a single delivery. WestJet placed an order for 55 Boeing 737 MAX just before the global ban on the aircraft.

Other airlines with important orders include United Airlines, SpiceJet, Gol Linhas Aéreas, Ryanair and Jet Airways. The last two have expressed their frustration to Boeing. This week, Ryanair froze payments to Boeing while awaiting approval for commercial use of the 737 MAX. Along with this, Jet Airways ceased all its operations. The India-based airline struggled to cope with the debt, along with the grounding of almost a quarter of its fleet.

The global ban has helped to cause a domino effect in global aviation with many reports of financial problems. Many airlines have had to check their routes and find suitable alternative planes for their services.

However, Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have been working hard to recover the flight with an evaluation scheduled for October 2019. Once the 737 MAX plane returns to the skies, Boeing can re-prioritize its orders currently unfulfilled.

Next year will be a significant year for both Boeing and airlines around the world. The institutions will seek to begin the next decade strongly after a year of uncertainty within the aviation industry. A \ W

AW-7000C919.jpgC919 displaces service entrance 2021/22

COMAC C919 delays entry service to airlines by 2021/22

The COMAC C919 could enter service with the launching client China Eastern Airlines later than expected, even when the production of the aircraft begins at the end of the year. This means that the new Chinese aircraft could enter service around 2021 or 2022, a slight delay compared to the previous COMAC target of 2020-2021.

In an official COMAC press release at the Beijing Aviation Expo that «research and production work is progressing in an orderly manner» although no further details have been revealed. The first four have already undergone flight tests in areas such as Shanghai, Xian, and Nanchang, with more than 1,000 test flights performed, says Comac. In August 2019, the fourth C919 prototype took off on its first test flight in Shanghai. The last pair of six narrow-body prototypes will be embarked on test flights after completing the final assembly. There are for the new C919 aircraft orders for 305 firm units and more than 700 additional commitments.

Other programs

At the Beijing Aviation Expo, COMAC exhibited a model of the C919’s cockpit, along with large-scale models of its three aircraft programs: the C919, ARJ21 regional jet, as well as the Chinese-Russian fuselage CR929 program width. In COMAC CR929, which is developing jointly with the Russian company United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), it states that the selection of suppliers is still underway, as part of the program definition phase.

So far, discussions with engine suppliers are still ongoing. Rolls-Royce and GE Aviation have launched their hats to the ring so far, with Aero Engine Corporation of China and a joint partnership between United Engine of Russia and Aviadvigatel also working to boost the wide-body program. The air units were working to secure launch customers for the program at the end of the year. United Aircraft had said it was launching the CR929 to airlines in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions. The first flight of the type is planned around 2025, but it is not clear if delays in the program are expected. A \ W

20150215-logo-faa_1FAA prueba nuevas modificaciones software MCAS en simulador 737 MAX

AW-Icon_Boeing 737 MAX

Reputación a exámen

Boeing-Company-LogoFAA tests new MCAS software modifications in 737 MAX simulator

The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has tested the Boeing 737 MAX on a flight simulator today Thursday, September 19, 2019. The regulatory agency but the FAA has not reported comments on the functionality of the updated anti-lock software. FAA CEO Stephen Dickson has met with senior officials of the American factory and has toured the 737 MAX assembly line in Renton (WA).

Examination Reputation

Both the Boeing company and the FAA agency have suffered the impact of the lack of trust generated by the two air accidents that involved two Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft and the lack of supervision in both companies. The FAA’s reputation was damaged by the revelations that it was not involved in determining the safety of a key flight control system called MCAS before certifying 737 MAX for the flight in 2017. The system pushed the nose of the plane down in both accidents, one off the coast of Indonesia on October 2018, the other in Ethiopia on March 2019, where the total of 346 people died.

Simulation test

Stephen Dickson was an Air Force fighter pilot and worked at Delta Air Lines where he developed his career as a pilot from previous versions of 737 during a long career. The tests carried out today had two sessions in a flight simulator to test the changes that Boeing has made to the MCAS System, which makes it less powerful and easier to control for pilots. In the first session, he practiced simulations of normal flights. «It drives like a 737. The plane handles very well for all I can say», said the head of the US regulatory agency. In the second session, situations were handled in which MCAS kicked and pushed the nose of the simulated plane down, but the FAA declined to comment. For the FAA it will be necessary to board a real plane to test the changes made.

Future audits

The FAA will wait to see the recommendations of a special committee of the US Department of Transportation (DOT) and others before making any decision on the FAA process to certify new aircraft. Some of these recommendations will come from international aviation regulators. The FAA brought together officials from dozens of foreign agencies in May 2019 in the State of Texas and plans to do the same next week in Montreal, Canada.

The FAA has for many years been a body with a worldwide reputation. After the plane crashes of the Boeing 7347-8 MAX, it faces a crisis of confidence regarding its peer organizations in the world where they will establish tougher policies to monitor any new project or modifications of current versions. The Boeing 737 MAX has sat on the bench of the accused hoping to be able to get away from the good reputation he had earned there by the end of the 60s.

The FAA could take a step towards approvals of the modified software, but the European regulator at the same time takes an additional three months and may require Boeing to make additional changes to the 737 MAX line. Regulators in Canada and India have also indicated that they may have discrepancies in approving the new modifications. A \ W

In June 2019, Mitsubishi purchased the Bombardier CRJ Program for $ 550 million. The Japanese aircraft manufacturer will stop the production of CRJ while maintaining maintenance services. The new SpaceJet Program will enter the marketing and sales line.

SpaceJet program

The first SpaceJet M90 model was originally scheduled to be delivered in 2013. It is still pending certification and is now scheduled to go into service in 2020. In 2Q2019, Mitsubishi also announced the launch of another model, the SpaceJet M100, especially aimed at the market. American. The Japanese company points to the experience of Quebec within the CRJ Program could be the most useful to get fit the smallest aircraft to enter the United States Reach Clause for the regional market of less than 70 passengers.

Mitsubishi Aircraft has initiated an invitation to recruit personnel in Montreal. For Mitsubishi, the Quebec aerospace industry is an important group of talent and resources, so it is normal for Mitsubishi Aircraft to have exploratory conversations with local leaders. A \ W

Airbus forecasts demand 39,000 new aircraft in the next 20 years

images (2)Airbus has announced a demand forecast of 39,000 commercial aircraft for the next twenty years. The global fleet of passenger and freighter airplanes will increase to more than double the current 23,000 to almost 48,000 by 2038 with traffic that will increase to 4.3% annually, which also results in the need for 550,000 new pilots and 640,000 new technicians. By 2038, from the forecast of 47,680 fleets, 39,210 are new and 8,470 remain as of today. By updating the fleets with state-of-the-art fuel-efficient aircraft, such as the A220, the A320NEO family, the A330NEO and the A350, Airbus believes that it will contribute greatly to the progressive decarbonization of the air transport industry and the objective of Carbon neutral growth from 2020 while connecting more people worldwide.

Reflecting aeronautical technology in current evolution, Airbus has simplified its segmentation to consider capacity, scope, and type of mission. For example, a basic short-distance A321 is considered Small (S) in performance, while the long-distance A321LR or XLR expands operations considerably. The A330 is classified as Medium (M), it is likely that airlines will continue to operate a number in a way that is within the segmentation of the Big (L) market along with the A350 XWB. The new segmentation gives rise to the need for 39,210 new passengers and cargo aircraft, 29,720 Small (S), 5,370 Medium (M) and 4,120 Large (L), according to the latest Global Market Forecast 2019-2038 of Airbus. Of these, 25,000 aircraft are for growth and 14,210 are to replace older models with newer ones that offer superior efficiency.

Resultado de imagen para Airbus A350 pngAirbus aircraft are market leaders in their segments. The Small (S) segment includes the A220 Family and all variants of the A320 Family. The main Airbus products in the Medium (M) segment are the A330 and A330NEO family, and can also include the smaller versions A321LR and XLR used in long-distance missions. The largest Grande (L) segmentation is represented by the A330NEO family along with the larger A350 XWB family, which also includes the ultra-long-range (ULR) version. This segmentation will continue to be attended by the A380 at the top end.

Tough market

Resistant to economic crises, air traffic has more than doubled since 2000. It increasingly plays a key role in connecting large population centers, particularly in emerging markets where the propensity to travel is one of the highest in the world since cost or geography make alternatives impossible. Today, approximately a quarter of the world’s urban population is responsible for more than a quarter of the world’s GDP, and given that both are key growth factors, Aviation Megacities (AMC) will continue to drive the global aviation network. Advances in superior fuel efficiency are driving demand, even more, to replace existing aircraft with lower fuel consumption.

“The annual growth of 4% reflects the resilient nature of aviation, resisting short-term economic shocks and geopolitical disturbances. Economies thrive in air transport. People and goods want to connect. Globally, commercial aviation stimulates GDP growth and supports 65 million livelihoods, demonstrating the immense benefits that our business brings to all societies and world trade», said Christian Scherer, Commercial Director of Airbus and Head of Airbus International.

Airbus Mobile suffers incident in assembly line A220

The Airbus US Plant has suffered an incident in one of the hangars at the factory located in Mobile, Alabama State. According to reports, at least one Airbus A220 was damaged when the fire extinguishing system suddenly activated, covering the plane with flame-retardant foam.

The US Airbus plant was opened in 2015 and is the site where the manufacturer builds the assembly line A320 and A220. The new Airbus plant in Mobile activated a fire extinguishing system, which caused the fire-retardant foam to be sprayed throughout the hanger and over the first A220-300. While fire does not appear to have taken place, Airbus is thoroughly inspecting both the hangar and the two planes for signs of damage. «On Friday, September 13, during the time out of production, the fire extinguishing system was activated in one of the support hangars at the Airbus manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama, United States», says Airbus. Airbus confirmed that no one was injured when the fire extinguishing system was activated. However, while the hangar is closed and on-site evaluation teams work to determine the cause of the activation, Airbus also confirms that there were two planes placed in the hangar and that they are being evaluated by the manufacturer.

The first A320 built-in Alabama left the plant on April 25, 2016, with its first client JetBlue Airways. The manufacturing site began producing the A220 on August 5, 2019. Airbus has not yet delivered its first A220 to a customer, but the Alabama branch has stated that the first deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2020, being Delta Air Lines the launching client of the Airbus A220-300 built-in Mobile.

Airbus is in direct contact with customers to keep them informed about the potential situation but has not disclosed whether the two planes suffered substantial damage or, at all. In addition, the spokeswoman also did not confirm whether scheduled deliveries will be delayed. Although the suppression system was activated, Airbus says it has no indication that there has been a real fire. He adds that there was no damage to personnel in the incident, which was reported on September 16, 2019.

«During the time out of production, the fire extinguishing system was activated in one of the support hangars at the Airbus manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama. Two planes that were on the hanger at that time are being evaluated by their potential impact. We are in direct contact with the client to keep them informed. The hangar has closed because the evaluation teams on the site work to determine the cause of the activation», says Airbus. A \ W

Embraer apunta objetivo E175 E2

Image result for Embraer E175 E2AW | 2019 09 16 22:04 | INDUSTRY

The Brazilian builder Embraer has said that it maintains the objective for its entry into service of the Embraer E175-E2 by 2021. Embraer is confident that the variant with lower capacity will have a market despite the lack of orders within the second generation E-Jet family. «The E175-E2 is absolutely on time. The first plane is in final assembly at the moment and we are planning to hang the two GTF engines on the plane tomorrow», said Embraer President and CEO John Slattery.

E175-E2, first flight

«The first flight of the third member of the E-Jet family is on its way by the end of 2019 and we expect to have the aircraft in revenue-generating service by the end of 2021», says Slattery. The sales impulse for the jet was overshadowed by the Pratt & Whitney PW1700G engine that has been hampered by the failure of the aircraft to comply with the weight limits of the Scope Clause applied to regional aircraft for the market in the United States.

A previous agreement with SkyWest for 100 units was removed from the firm order book of the smaller variant in 2018 to comply with accounting regulations. Although Embraer stressed that the regional operator was still committed to the agreement, he said there was no certainty about when the Scope Clause agreements could be reviewed. John Slattery believes that the E175-E2 does not depend on a single market for success. «I am sure that we will ensure a launch client or clients outside the United States, sooner rather than later. The E175-E1 version works worldwide, it is not a plane dedicated to the United States market. We are lighting the plane E2 and we stay on time», he says.

Although the second generation E175 has had problems, Embraer can console itself with the continued success of the E1 version that has accumulated a firm order book of 194 aircraft as of June 30, 2019. «Until we comply with the Scope Clause in the United States, we will continue to sell the E175-E1 in that market and the E2 outside it. We have the industrial capacity in our hybrid final assembly line to produce both planes in a series of combinations», emphasizes Slattery.

First E195-E2

The first E195-E2 has been delivered to Azul de Brasil on September 12, 2019. «Now that we have the E195-E2 certificate, you will see much more movement with the sales reaffirmed and announced in the market. The Embraer assembly line is almost exclusively for E2», says the CEO of Embraer. Azul Linhas Aéreas is the main customer of the E195-E2 that has placed direct orders for 51 aircraft; He has also announced that he will take six additional units for lease, divided equally between the AerCap and Aircastle landlords. John Slattery says that Azul will be a «main operator for the program and believes that he could eventually have E2 three-digit numbers in his fleet in full time». David Neeleman, founder and President of Azul, was present in Sao Jose two Fields for the delivery of E195-E2 Slattery describes him as a «great defender» of the E-Jet Program, which dates back to the first E1 delivery to JetBlue Airways, the low-cost US airline founded by Neeleman. his latest US airline, called Moxy Airlines, Neeleman selected the arch-rival of the E2, the Airbus A220, placing a firm order for 60 aircraft. John Slattery describes the loss of Neeleman’s business in the A220 as «particularly difficult and emotional for us «and says that Embraer was gutted by the decision. But he points out that the E195-E2 was still in flight test at that time» and we did not have the ability to show the full range of capacity from the plane».

In a final turn, however, the E-Jets could still be the first plane flown by Moxy: David Neeleman has suggested that as the E2 reach the Blue fleet, older examples will be rotated and join the new American airline, which will allow you to get up and running before the A220s arrive in 2021. A \ W
