Familiares de las víctimas del accidente aéreo ocurrido el año pasado en La Habana, presentaron una demanda colectiva contra la aerolínea mexicana Global Air, también conocida Aerolíneas Damojh, así como contra su propietario, el empresario español Manuel Rodríguez Campo, la compañía de seguros Ve por Más SA y el Grupo Financiero.

El vuelo CU-972 de Cubana de Aviación (CU-972/CUB972) era un vuelo doméstico de pasajeros de Global Air arrendado a Cubana de Aviación. Cubría el trayecto desde el Aeropuerto Internacional José Martí en La Habana, hasta el Aeropuerto Internacional Frank País en Holguín. El 18 Mayo 2018, la aeronave involucrada, un Boeing 737-200, matrícula XA-UHZ, se estrelló minutos después del despegue entre el Aeropuerto José Martí y la localidad de Santiago de Las Vegas, en el municipio Boyeros de la capital cubana.​ De los 113 ocupantes de la aeronave, incluidos seis tripulantes mexicanos, tres personas pudieron ser trasladadas con vida al hospital, sin embargo una de ellas falleció a los 3 días, y otra a 7 días después del accidente.

Demanda de familiares

La demanda de los familiares de las víctimas del vuelo CUB-972 la presentó el bufete de abogados francés Barreau de Bordeaux, especializado en representar a víctimas de accidentes aéreos, en la Ciudad de México. Una vez que haya sido validado judicialmente se podrán unir más familiares y herederos de las víctimas. Esta demanda civil se suma a la denuncia penal interpuesta previamente ante la Fiscalía General de México, por el delito de homicidio, en contra de Rodríguez Campo, Seguros Ve por Más SA, el Grupo Financiero Ve por Más y Aerolíneas Damojh SA. “La acción tiene por objeto el reconocimiento y exacción de todas las responsabilidades civiles a las que haya lugar y derivadas del siniestro en favor de los familiares de los fallecidos”, explicó el abogado Carlos Villacorta.

El abogado aseguró que la petición es para que se ordenen las investigaciones y las diligencias necesarias “a efecto de esclarecer los hechos delictivos en perjuicio de las víctimas del accidente aéreo, para que se cite a los imputados y declaren con relación a los hechos y se ejercite acción penal ante el juez de distrito en turno”. La demanda exigirá “el pago de todos los daños pecuniarios y no pecuniarios sufridos por los reclamantes”. Con anterioridad a esta demanda, familiares de tres de los pasajeros pusieron una demanda en una corte de Chicago en la que alegaron que la aerolínea era “negligente en el entrenamiento de sus pilotos”.

La Asociación Víctimas de Accidentes Aéreos emitió un comunicado donde recordó a las víctimas del vuelo 8R-5428 que debía aterrizar en Comodoro Rivadavia. “Tantos años han pasado y las familias continúan esperando justicia, siguen luchando día a día por sus familiares que dejaron un gran vacío”, señalaron.

Este sábado se cumplen 8 del accidente del vuelo 8R-5428 de Sol Líneas Aéreas. La nave se estrelló en el Paraje Los Menucos cuando volaba la ruta Neuquén-Comodoro Rivadavia. «Se cumplen 8 años de la tragedia aérea de la empresa Sol, esa noche que dejó el saldo de 22 fallecidos. Tantos años han pasado y las familias continúan esperando Justicia, siguen luchando día a día por sus familiares que dejaron un gran vacío pero continúan conteniendo a sus seres queridos», señalaron desde la Asociación Víctimas de Accidentes Aéreos. En el comunicado consideraron que los jueces que llevan la causa, «parecieran congelar y dar impunidad a los responsables de esta tragedia. Los argentinos apoyamos a esas familias que siguen peleando por la verdad, que no bajan los brazos hasta que no haya nada por hacer. Nosotros, los familiares de tragedias aéreas queremos acompañarlos, transmitirles fuerzas, darles un fuerte abrazo a la distancia, desde cada provincia argentina tendemos nuestra mano y contención para ir caminar juntos hasta que la Justicia argentina ponga lo que hay que poner para terminar con la impunidad».

Airbus SE owns a division of factories in Broughton, in the north of Wales, and in Filton, near Bristol in the United Kingdom. La diplomacia de los Estados Unidos advirtieron el Sábado 18 Mayo 2019 que los aviones comerciales que vuelan sobre el Golfo Pérsico corren el riesgo de ser “identificados erróneamente”, en medio de las tensiones crecientes entre Washington e Teherán.

La Administración Federal de Aviación (FAA) ha informado por parte de los diplomáticos estadounidenses acerca de los riesgos que representan las tensiones actuales en una zona crucial para las rutas aéreas de todo el mundo.

Los temores de un posible conflicto aumentaron desde que la Casa Blanca ordenó el envío de buques de guerra y bombardeos a la región para contrarrestar una supuesta amenaza no especificada de Irán, que ha hecho que Washington retire además a su personal diplomático no esencial de Irak. Desde entonces, el Presidente Donald Trump ha rebajado el tono de sus declaraciones. El actual conflicto EEUU-Irán ha traído presión por aire y mar en la zona del Golfo Pérsico.

Conflicto Arabia Saudita-Irán

Las autoridades reportaron un sabotaje que habría afectado a cuatro buques petroleros frente a la costa de Emiratos Árabes Unidos, y rebeldes yemeníes alineados con Irán reivindicaron un ataque con un dron contra un oleoducto vital para Arabia Saudí, ocurrido el Martes. Aerolíneas Argentinas registró unas pérdidas por valor de AR$ 21.800 millones en 2018, con un incremento de 240% en relación con los AR$ 6.400 millones que había perdido en 2017. La fuerte suba en los precios del combustible y el impacto de la devaluación del peso sobre las deudas en dólares explican el grueso de las pérdidas, según informó ayer el Presidente Luis Malvido.

En paralelo, el funcionario destacó que, pese al aumento de las pérdidas operativas, los subsidios que Aerolíneas recibió del Estado en 2018 fueron casi los mismos que había recibido en 2017 unos US$ 200 millones, y proyectados para 2019 tienen una previsión similar en cuanto al monto de los subsidios, aunque el precio del petróleo volvió a subir en los últimos meses y el dólar ya está en un valor superior al que estimaban los directivos de la compañía cuando trazaron los planes para este año.

“Somos una empresa vulnerable con muchas oportunidades de mejorar nuestra eficiencia; en un buen año como fue 2017 Aerolíneas que perdió AR$ 6.400 millones y en un mal año, 2018, perdimos AR$ 21.800 millones; por eso tenemos que seguir trabajando sobre la optimización de nuestros costos y nuestros ingresos, en ser más eficientes y ponernos al nivel de competitividad de otras empresas de la región”, explicó el CEO de Aerolíneas en una reunión con periodistas. Luis Malvido, junto al director financiero de Aerolíneas Argentinas, Claudio Encinas, detallaron ayer los puntos principales del balance de la compañía, que será aprobado por asamblea el próximo 28 Mayo 2019. Será la segunda vez consecutiva en 21 años que el balance se aprueba en tiempo y forma, remarcaron.

Variables de los costos

El precio del combustible aumentó el 60% en 2018 y eso significó un sobrecosto diferencial de AR$ 7.400 millones contra 2017. En lo que hace al impacto de la suba del dólar sobre las deudas de la compañía (básicamente por compra de aviones realizadas en gestiones anteriores y en la actual) implicó un incremento de AR$ 9.500 millones en los pasivos. El dólar alto también pegó en los costos de alquiler de aeronaves con AR$ 2.500 millones. Y, por otro lado, afectó los ingresos por ventas de pasajes internacionales ya que provocó una retracción de pasajeros. A esto se sumó una caída real de rentabilidad en dólares porque los pasajes internacionales bajaron en moneda dura como única forma de evitar una mayor sangría de ventas.

“En 2018 Aerolíneas creció, pero a un ritmo menor que el mercado; por eso bajamos nuestra participación en el mercado. Pero este año estamos recuperando posiciones, pasamos de 62% del mercado de cabotaje en diciembre pasado a 67% el mes pasado. La participación de Aerolíneas en el mercado de cabotaje era del 62% a fines de 2018, y ahora alcanza al 67%. Aerolíneas Argentinas recorded losses of AR$ 21,800 million in 2018, with an increase of 240% in relation to the AR$ 6,400 million that had been lost in 2017. The sharp rise in fuel prices and the impact of the devaluation of the weight on the debts in dollars explain the bulk of the losses, according to President Luis Malvido yesterday.

In parallel, the official stressed that, despite the increase in operating losses, the subsidies that Aerolineas received from the State in 2018 were almost the same as those received by US$ 200 million in 2017, and projected for 2019 have a similar forecast as regards to the amount of subsidies, although the price of oil rose again in recent months and the dollar is already in a value higher than that estimated by the directors of the company when they drew plans for this year.

«We are a vulnerable company with many opportunities to improve our efficiency; in a good year such as 2017 Airlines that lost AR$ 6.400 million and in a bad year, 2018, we lost AR$ 21.800 million; that’s why we have to continue working on optimizing our costs and our revenues, to be more efficient and to reach the level of competitiveness of other companies in the region», explained the CEO of Aerolíneas in a meeting with journalists. Luis Malvido, together with the Financial Director of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Claudio Encinas, yesterday detailed the main points of the balance of the company, which will be approved by assembly on 28 May 2019. It will be the second consecutive time in 21 years that the balance is approved in time and form, they remarked.

Variables of costs

The price of fuel increased 60% in 2018 and that meant a differential cost overrun of AR$ 7.4 billion against 2017. Regarding the impact of the rise of the dollar on the company’s debts (basically by purchase of aircraft made in negotiations previous and in the current one) implied an increase of AR$ 9,500 million in liabilities. The high dollar also added up to AR$ 2,500 million in aircraft rental costs. And, on the other hand, it affected the revenue from sales of international tickets as it caused a retraction of passengers. To this was added a real fall in profitability in dollars because international passages fell in hard currency as the only way to avoid a greater drain on sales.

But this year we are recovering positions, we went from 62% of the cabotage market last December to 67% last month. The participation of Airlines in the cabotage market was 62% at the end of 2018, and now reaches 67%. United Airlines anunció que despedirá a unas 100 personas que trabajan en sus oficinas en Houston, ubicadas en el Downtown. La compañía notificó a la Comisión de Fuerza Laboral de Texas sobre los despidos esta semana.

La decisión se debe a que United decidió eliminar una parte de la división contable de la compañía que ahora pasará a ser manejada por una entidad externa. Las oficinas de United Airlines están ubicadas en el 609 Main Street y los empleados empezarán a dejar sus cargos a partir de mediados de Julio 2018.AW-Icon-TXT-01

United Airlines will lay off 100 employees in Houston

United Airlines has announced that it will lay off about 100 people who work in its offices in Houston, located in Downtown. The company notified the Texas Workforce Commission about the layoffs this week.
