Boeing-Company-LogoBoeing says he did not intentionally disable the 737 MAX security feature

The Boeing Company says it did not intentionally deactivate a key safety alert on its 737 MAX aircraft, responding to reports that the company did not inform Southwest Airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration that the function was deactivated before the recent crashes. «The disagreement alert was linked to or linked to the angle of attack indicator, which is an optional feature of the MAX, unless an airline opted for the angle of attack indicator, the alert in disagreement was not operable», says Boeing.

At today’s shareholders meeting on April 29, 2019, CEO Dennis Muilenburg survived a motion to split his duties as president and CEO, and promised to regain public confidence after the two fatal crashes of the 737 MAX. The CEO said the development of the aircraft was «thorough and disciplined» and was not rushed, and the company «exactly followed the steps in our design and certification processes that produce aircraft safely». Muilenburg said the FAA pilots will carry out a 737 MAX certification flight with renewed flight control software in the next two weeks.

Statement by Boeing

Boeing statement on 737 MAX disagrees alert. Boeing wants to provide an answer to several news items from yesterday and today that report the disagreement alert on the 737 MAX. Boeing included the Disagreeing Alert as a standard feature on the MAX, although this alert has not been considered a safety feature on aircraft and is not necessary for the safe operation of the aircraft. Boeing did not intentionally deactivate or otherwise disable the disagreement alert on its MAX aircraft.

The disagreement alert was intended to be a standard and independent feature in MAX planes. However, the disagreement alert was not available on all airplanes because the function was not activated as expected.

The disagreement alert was linked or linked to the angle of attack indicator, which is an optional feature on the MAX. Unless an airline opted for the angle of attack indicator, the alert in disagreement was not operable.

On each aircraft delivered to our customers, including the MAX, all flight data and information necessary to safely operate the aircraft is provided in the flight deck and on the flight deck screen. This information is easily accessible to pilots, and always has been.

The air speed, attitude and altitude screens, together with the stick agitator, are the main indicators of flight information in the flight deck. All recommended pilot actions, checklists and training are based on these primary indicators, not the AOA Disagreement Alert or the angle of attack indicator.

When the MAX returns safely to the air after the software modifications have been approved and certified, all MAX production aircraft will have an activated and operable disagreement alert and an optional angle of attack indicator. All customers with previously delivered MAX aircraft can activate the disagreement alert according to an airline service bulletin. We are sure that when the MAX returns to the skies, it will be one of the safest aircraft to fly. A \ W

National strike in Argentina

Airlines join the national strike in the Argentine Republic

The airlines have made cancellations and reprogramming of flights for this next Tuesday 30 March 2019. The companies Aerolineas Argentinas, Latam Airlines Argentina, JetSmart Airlines Argentina, Avianca and Copa Airlines today announced the cancellation and reprogramming of domestic flights scheduled for Tuesday, due to the adhesion of the aeronautical guilds to the strike called for that day by various union entities. The unions called a strike for 24 hours, to which the aeronautical and Intercargo unions joined, so there will be no ramp service at the airports.

Domestic flights

The cancellation of Aerolíneas Argentinas involves 350 flights and a total of more than 22,000 passengers, the company said in a press release. Argentine airlines with unemployment tomorrow, support strike The airline line Aerolíneas Argentinas reported that it canceled all scheduled flights for Tuesday 30 April 2019, due to a broad strike of unions that are opposed to the economic policies of the current government of Argentina. «This cancellation is due to the stoppage arranged for Tuesday by aeronautical unions representing land and flight employees», the company said in a statement, which reported that it has relocated more than 40% of affected users.

In the case of Latam Airlines Argentina, there are just over 30 flights and 6,000 passengers affected. «Given the need to protect its passengers in the best possible way, Aerolíneas Argentinas is forced to cancel the entire operation scheduled for that day», the company said today through a press release. In turn, Latam Airlines Argentina suggested through a statement that those who have purchased tickets for next Tuesday to reschedule their trip without penalty or fare differences or to manage the return without penalty of the money they paid for tickets canceled flights .

JetSmart Airlines Argentina canceled and rescheduled its services, both from El Palomar Airport to Córdoba, Mendoza and Neuquén, as well as those operating from the interior between Salta and Mendoza and between Tucumán and Neuquén.

Andes Líneas Aéreas will not have operations to its destinations of Bariloche, Iguazú, Córdoba, Mendoza, Puerto Madryn and Salta, as well as Avianca Argentina, with its frequencies to Santa Fe, Rosario and Mar del Plata.

Flybondi Líneas Aéreas will be the only company that will keep its operations at El Palomar Airport normal and although the operation in its stopovers in the interior will be conditioned to the situation of each of them by virtue of counting or not the airports with the air traffic controllers guarantee operations.

Norwegian Air Argentina, which has operations at the Jorge Newbery Airport (Aeroparque) has canceled all flights on Tuesday 30 April 2019.

International flights

Regarding international flights, Aerolíneas Argentinas indicated that «additionally, the modification of the schedule of international flights has been arranged with the departure time closest to the start and end of the day of Tuesday 30, so as not to affect your operation».

Latam Airlines Argentina has arranged the modification of the schedule of international flights with departure time closest to the start and end of the day of Tuesday 30 April 2019, so as not to affect its operation.

Copa Airlines, for its part, announced that it advanced its early morning flights from Panama to Buenos Aires and Cordoba from April 30 to 29 and delayed those from 30 in Buenos Aires and Córdoba to Panama on May 1, 2019.

American Airlines of the United States has announced that it will carry out normal operations on the day of the strike because it has its own ramp service.

Norwegian Air International has rescheduled its international flight London-Buenos Aires, from Tuesday 30 April to Monday 29 April 2019.

The rest of the international airlines that operate in the Ezeiza International Airport will also be affected by their operations, reprogrammed for March 29 and May 1, 2019, as they can not count on the Intercargo ramp service. A \ W

Boeing, 737 MAX y los accionistas

AW | 2019 04 29 05:53 | INDUSTRY

Boeing ready to launch the return of the 737 MAX to shareholders

The CEO of The Boeing Company, Dennis Muilenburg, will chair annual meetings with shareholders to enjoy a new glimpse of a rise in the price of the shares. This year’s meeting, the CEO of the aerospace giant can expect good winds from investors. Outside the Chicago meeting, protesters are expected to reprimand the company for a security crisis that has engulfed the best-selling plane of the world’s largest plan maker.

Until a 737-8 MAX from Ethiopian Airlines crashed into the ground shortly after takeoff on March 10, 2019, Boeing had dominated the Dow Jones Industrial Average with a well-known strategy to contain risk and return cash to investors. Boeing still follows Microsoft alone in earnings from shares in the 30-member Dow since Muilenburg took office in July 2015.

Errors in the 737 MAX

A malfunction of the 737 MAX sensor has been cited in a preliminary report on air accidents. Boeing has redesigned and extensively tested the software that was related to the Ethiopian disaster and an October accident in Indonesia. The system failed and repeatedly pressed the nose of the 737 MAX until the flight crews lost control of both condemned aircraft. The crashes killed 346 people.

While Boeing has emphasized a redesign that will prevent the system from being activated erroneously, the company has not yet provided a full report on how its flight control engineers came to design the function. Without that narrative, there is a lot of confusion and uncertainty about the extent of MAX’s shortcomings. «In the absence of confessing the flaw here, any narrative is valid in people’s minds», said aerospace analyst Richard Aboulafia.

Stock repurchases are now on hold and executives are fighting to save Boeing’s reputation and public trust in the 737 program, the company’s main source of profit. In addition to facing shareholders, the CEO will also hold its first press conference since the accident.

Outside, a group representing relatives and friends of the victims is planning a silent protest over the flaws and secrecy associated with the 737 MAX. Last week, CEO Muilenburg described Boeing’s plan to contain the financial consequences of a 737 global base for investors. An even more difficult task will be to convince regulators around the world that it is safe to fly in a single aisle.

Boeing did not tell Southwest Airlines when the airline began flying the 737 MAX in 2017 that a standard security feature had been disabled, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday. After the October 2018 accident of a 737 MAX operated by Indonesia’s Lion Air, Southwest asked Boeing to reactivate warnings on its fleet’s aircraft and that FAA mid-level officials briefly considered the plane’s ground connection of Southwest.

Accidents have also damaged the position of US regulators. The Federal Aviation Administration approved the software, known as MCAS, which was based on a single sensor reading. The redesigned version will compare data from two palettes and will only be activated once if it detects that a Max is in danger of being stopped. While the FAA will carry out the initial review and certification of the system, other regulators are determined to do their own analysis of the software and pilot training proposed by Boeing. «This is no longer an aeronautical and technical problem, it is a geopolitical and policy problem, it is a fight for the primacy of who will be the gold standard for certification both for new programs and for derivative aircraft programs», he said. Robert Mann, aeronautical consultant and aerospace engineer. A \ W

Air-China-Boeing-737-MAX-8-entrega-990x660.jpgAirbus and Boeing good figures despite crisis

Airbus and Boeing set a record year despite turbulence in the sector

The aircraft manufacturers of the world are in course for another record year, according to the new figures, despite the turbulence of the industry. Airbus and Boeing delivered 311 aircraft to customers in the first three months of 2019, one more than in the same period last year, ADS said today.

The trade body said that the two aircraft manufacturers had delivered 88 widebodies aircraft, matching a record of 2015. It is estimated that deliveries have a value of up to £ 6.5 billion for the UK industry and a global accumulation of 14.107 aircraft could contribute up to £ 215 billion to the British economy in the coming years.

«The aerospace industry has set its sights on another record year for aircraft production, driven by strong international demand for modern, technologically advanced and fuel efficient aircraft, so far, production has kept pace with a record 2018, But global challenges are creating difficulties for the global aviation and aeronautical industries. In Europe, the uncertainty of Brexit is the increase in supply chain costs, international trade disputes put new tariffs at risk and travelers concerned about costs are challenging airline profitability», said ADS Executive Director Paul Everitt.

ADS forecasts that production will reach 1,789 aircraft this year, more than last year’s record of 1,618. «We expect another year of impressive aircraft production by historical standards, but the industry’s ambitious goals for 2019 set a stark test for the global industry».

It is a series of international airlines that have closed their operations in recent months. Two weeks ago, the Indian airline Jet Airways was forced to suspend all its flights after failing to raise the funds it needed to keep airplanes on the air. Boeing has also faced problems. Last month, the world fleet of its fast-selling 737 MAX plane was punished after hundreds of people died in two separate accidents. A\W

FAA re-certificaría 737 MAX para 5-6/2019

Resultado de imagen para FAA Boeing 737 MAX

AW | 2019 04 26 21:15 | AVIATION SAFETY / INDUSTRY

FAA would recertify 737 MAX for 5-6/2019

Boeing-Logo.svgThe FAA could recertify the Boeing 737 MAX for May-June 2019

B737-8MAXThe Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) could make the Boeing 737 MAX fly again by the end of next month or early June 2019, according to the security agency. The FAA could approve much faster than many analysts have predicted the certification for flight of the Boeing 737 MAX: Even so, airlines still need weeks to prepare their aircraft and train their pilots. But the schedule, which does not imply unforeseen developments, means that US airlines could once again have the Boeing 737 MAX by early August 2019.

At a crucial meeting of the heads of civil aviation authorities around the world convened by the FAA on May 23, 2019, the US regulatory agency is expected to present its final safety analysis in an attempt to foster international consensus. Unless some new problems are discovered, the FAA anticipates telling the assembled foreign regulators that it is «in a position to enable the aircraft for service in the vicinity of that meeting», potentially as soon as a week later, said the familiar person. with the FAA.

The Chief of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Kevin McAllister, said that Boeing has fixed dates but still nothing firm. To obtain the international consensus that Boeing would like, he said, the FAA must convince other regulators that it has done everything necessary to validate the safety of the 737 MAX. The cargo will be in the FAA and Boeing to demonstrate before 23 May 2019 that they have everything under control.

The FAA authorization would certify a software solution that Boeing designed for the new flight control system known as the MCAS (Maneuvering Feature Enhancement System) of the Boeing 737 MAX, the fourth generation line, which is involved in the last two fatal accidents that killed 346 people. At the same time, the agency will order the training of pilots to inform the flight crews in full about the updated system and how to deal with any potential failure.

The airplanes have been on the ground around the world since March 13, 2019. It will be necessary a rapid progress between now and the meeting of May 23, 2019. On April 17, 2019, Boeing Executive Chairman Dennis Muilenburg said the company had completed 135 test flights with the new software installed, adding that the next flight would be the MCAS certification flight. That flight, in which FAA test pilots put the plane to the test and tested several failure modes and extreme flight conditions, has not yet occurred. Once the test tests are completed, there is some optimism that the re-certification process may occur in a timely manner. While Boeing and the FAA believe that a global consensus among aviation authorities would substantially reinforce public confidence in the safety of the 737 MAX, they may not wait long if the international agreement is too slow to emerge.

The FAA has stated that once the certification process has been verified and the FAA technical staff is satisfied that the aircraft is now safe, it will be difficult to justify keeping it on the ground due to international political considerations.

Tuning for airlines

The approval of the FAA will be the trigger to begin logistics that requires a long time before commercial flights can resume. Airlines must first install the software update on all their MAX.

American Airlines captain Dennis Tajer, spokesman for the Allied Pilots Association (APA), said Boeing said it would take about a week to do that for the Boeing 737 MAX in the US fleet. Then, aircraft that have been stored for weeks, many of them in dry desert airfields, will have to undergo routine maintenance before flying, including lubrication and operation of the engines, wheel rotation and the cycle of hydraulic systems, which could take another week. The next step will be to complete the pilot training that will take much longer, given the complexity of the pilot programs.

While monitoring the pilot training, airlines must also update their flight and maintenance manuals. Only after all this has been done, will they be able to see the routes and schedules of their routes and begin to open flights for the Boeing 737 MAX in their reservation systems. A \ W

Avianca Argentina would end operations in Argentina

The company Avianca Argentina (Avian Líneas Aéreas) would stop operating due to financial problems and the economic crisis facing Argentina. the planes in the coming days for lack of payment. It would drag a debt of 30 million dollars since it began operating in the country.

The airline Avianca Argentina would soon cease to operate in the local market in line with the country’s economic problems and the reduction of the Avianca Holdings parent company at an international level, which was also affected by the bankruptcy of Avianca Brasil.

Avianca Argentina draws a cumulative debt of US$ 30 million since the operation began, suffering the cut of fuel supply and in 20 days the planes would be suppressed for lack of payment, turning operations into a very critical situation. In the coming days they will announce that they stop operating, claiming that it is impossible to operate against 70% of the component of an airline in dollars when the operations with tariffs are in Argentine pesos and the perforation of the minimum band of air tickets.

From the purchase to the MacAir Group by Avianca, the objective was to enter the low cost flight business in the country. Through 2017-2018 the company changed strategy to a regional airline. In February 2018, Avianca presented a preventive crisis procedure to the Government of Argentina in order to continue its operations. The Socma Group (of the Macri family) sued the firm Avian SA, which operates the Avianca brand in Argentina, for a debt of US$ 7 million. Avianca Argentina is owned by Synergy Group, which is also a majority shareholder of Avianca Holdings. The fate of Avianca is bleak and is marked to conclude its operations very soon, ending a great expectation of development in Argentina.

Reprogramación por paro 30/4 Argentina

aEROLINEAS-.jpgAW | 2019 04 26 17:26 | AIRLINES / AIR TRAFFIC

Reprogramming flights unemployment 30/4 Argentina

Airlines in Argentina will reprogram their flights in the wake of unemployment in Argentina

Airlines in Argentina reprogrammed the flights of April 30, 2019 for a strike that will affect almost all flights. Most airlines operating cabotage and international flights in Argentina decided to reschedule and cancel their services next Tuesday 30 due to the adhesion to the strike for 24 hours that will materialize that day, arranged by almost all the aeronautical guilds.

The measure of force convened by some unions and which joined the CTA, had the support of the aeronautical guilds that bring together pilots, mechanics, customer service personnel and the ramp service provided by Intercargo, which in practice It implies the impossibility of any type of operations. Flight controllers affiliated with the Association of State Workers (ATE-ANAC) have also complied.

The airlines

Aerolíneas Argentinas decided to advance the departure of its international morning services and delay the night service. Cabotage flights, Aerolíneas will cancel and reschedule their flights on Tuesday, although company sources indicated that «more than 50 percent of the passengers who had tickets for that day, already changed the date when the strike was confirmed, so the number of affected has been reduced considerably». As for its international operations decided to advance the departure of their morning services and delay the night, in addition to consolidate in a single the two daily flights to Miami in order to meet passengers who already had tickets for that date .

Andes Líneas Aéreas will not have operations either, although its general manager Horacio Preneste said that «the company does not stop, pilots and mechanics will do it and Intercargo, so there will be no flights from Andes on Tuesday», like Avianca Argentina, that will not have services.

Latam Airlines Argentina reported that it has made alternative changes available to its users for those passengers who have purchased tickets for that day. Meanwhile, Norwegian, which has its own union of employees that does not join the strike, will not be able to count on the ramp service provided by Intercargo and reprogrammed its flights.

Flybondi Líneas Aéreas and American Airlines will operate normally and JetSmart will maintain its international operation without alterations. In the case of Flybondi its employees. They are grouped in a single union that does not adhere to unemployment, so the operations at El Palomar Airport will be normal and in what it does to its stopovers in the interior, they will be conditioned to the situation of each one of them by virtue of counting or not the airports with the air traffic controllers that guarantee the operations.

American Airlines has Ezeiza airport with its own ramp service that does not adhere to the strength measure, so that its activities on Tuesday will be normal, informed sources from the US company.

JetSmart meanwhile, also has its own ramp service in El Palomar, so you can easily maintain your international flight to Santiago de Chile, not your cabotage flights, since in the interior stopovers to which you fly, the ramp service is carried out by Intercargo, which adheres to the strike, so its cabotage services have been rescheduled, advancing some to Monday and delaying others to Tuesday.

Copa Airlines, for its part, announced that it advanced its early morning flights from Panama to Buenos Aires and Córdoba from the 30th to the 29th and delayed the 30th flights from Buenos Aires and Córdoba to Panama for May 1, 2019. A \ W
