Aerolíneas Argentinas & Qatar 2022

AW | 2022 11 24 14:40 | AIRLINES ROUTES

Programación vuelos para Mundial Qatar 2022

AW-FIFA Qatar World Cup 2022

Flight schedule for World Cup Qatar 2022

Aerolíneas Argentinas has programmed six special flights for the first stage and a program of new flights that would be confirmed as the Argentine Soccer Team advances towards the following qualifying phases. The programming of the first flights were established for November 19, 20 and 23, 2022, while the new scheduled flights are for 11/24, 27 and 28 and for 12/01. Special flight operations are carried out in Airbus 330-200 aircraft with a capacity for 270 passengers. The Buenos Aires/EZE—Doha/DIA route requires around nineteen flight hours, with a one-hour layover in Rome/FCO.

The Government of Argentina has estimated that around 40,000 Argentines will travel to the Qatar 2022 World Cup to enjoy the different matches of the Soccer World Cup. «In general, movements are usually seen closer to the last date of the first phase, which is when the next steps of the Selection are defined», said the Despegar agency.

Middle East Tourism

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has reported that international tourism in the region increased by 132% during the first three months of 2022. «Following the soccer World Cup, the world’s eyes are on the Middle East, not only for a sporting matter but also for tourist reasons. The region offers unmissable landscapes, exotic destinations and nature that every travel lover should give themselves the chance to discover”, said Alejandro Herrasti, Despegar’s airline leader in Argentina and Uruguay.

Flight thermometer

After the boom of the days before the debut and after the Argentine defeat, the consultations to travel to Qatar stopped. Airlines and tourism agencies expect inquiries to grow again next week, closer to the definition of the group stage. The defeat of the Argentine National Team in the World Cup in Qatar against Saudi Arabia not only marked a negative point for thousands of fans, Argentines and the world who support the Albiceleste shirt, but also threatens to be a blow to the World Cup tourism business.

According to data that Despegar had shared days ago, searches to Qatar had increased by 173% compared to the previous week. For their part, from Turismocity they said that the searches for flights between Doha and Buenos Aires had skyrocketed, registering a significant increase in queries last week. After the defeat of the National Team, both expressed that the searches to travel to Qatar are clearly lower than previous days. Meanwhile, the agencies and the airline will continue waiting to determine how many flights will be scheduled for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Avianca-Viva presentan apelación

Aerolíneas reclaman proceso integración ante Aerocivil Colombia

AW-Avianca-Viva air__Isologotypes

Airlines claim integration process before Aerocivil Colombia

Avianca Airlines and Viva Air Colombia have filed an appeal with the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority for the integration process of both airlines, which has been rejected by the Colombian aeronautical agency. The airlines Avianca and Viva announced on Wednesday 11/23 that they filed an Appeal before the Civil Aeronautics of Colombia to claim an integration process denied at the beginning of November 2022, and proposed alternatives that include the assignment of landing and takeoff times to competitors. The two companies signed an agreement in April 2022 with which they sought to be part of the same group and unify their economic rights, maintaining their respective brands and strategies to strengthen the airlines after the global crisis in the air sector due to the global health crisis. But the Colombian civil aviation agency objected to the integration process, considering that it represents risks for competition in the sector and the well-being of consumers.

The two airlines said that they proposed five points that reflect the concerns of the authority and show the will to maintain the connectivity of the regions and the jobs that Viva Air generates in Colombia. «All this, aimed at ensuring the general well-being of air transport users, especially those who have flown for the first time thanks to Viva», Avianca President and CEO Adrian Neuhauser said in a statement.

Some of the proposals include reducing the participation of its operations in the Bogotá/El Dorado Airport, maintaining the Viva brand and its low-cost model, the largest number of jobs, aircraft and connectivity, as well as protecting rates on certain routes. Additionally, they expressed their interest in working together with the state airline Satena to strengthen its social role as a connector for the most remote regions of Colombia.

Viva Air Colombia is going through a complex financial situation due to the impact of the pandemic, aggravated by the rise in fuel prices this year and the devaluation of the Colombian currency.

At the time, the service was the first non-stop route between Serbia and the United States in twenty-four years.

Etihad Airways acquired a 49 percent stake in Air Serbia in 2014, but the Serbian government has gradually increased its stake in the airline in recent years, and now owns an 83.58 percent majority stake in the airline, with Etihad owning 16.42 percent.
