Singapore Airlines prepara el vuelo más largo del mundo
Singapore Airlines propondrá en octubre un vuelo sin escalas entre Singapur y Nueva York en cerca de 19 horas, es decir el vuelo comercial más largo del mundo, anunció este miércoles la propia compañía aérea.
El avión, que despegará del aeropuerto Singapur-Changi y aterrizará en el de Newark, cubrirá los 16.700 kilómetros que separan ambas ciudades en 18 horas y 45 minutos, agregó la aerolínea del archipiélago del sureste asiático en un comunicado.
El vuelo comercial más largo del mundo es actualmente el de la compañía Qatar Airways entre la capital catarí, Doha, y la ciudad neozelandesa de Auckland, que dura 17 horas y 40 minutos.
Para su futuro vuelo récord, Singapore Airlines utilizará un Airbus A350-900 Ultra Long Range con un gran radio de acción, que será configurado para llevar 161 pasajeros, 67 en clase preferente y 94 en turista premium, según la compañía.
Este aparato capaz de volar casi 18.000 kilómetros de un tirón, es decir más de 20 horas, efectuó su primer viaje de prueba a finales de Abril 2018.

Singapore Airlines will propose in October a nonstop flight between Singapore and New York in about 19 hours, the longest commercial flight in the world, the airline announced on Wednesday.
The plane, which will take off from the Singapore-Changi airport and land at the Newark airport, will cover the 16,700 kilometers that separate the two cities in 18 hours and 45 minutes, the Southeast Asian archipelago airline said in a statement.
The longest commercial flight in the world is currently that of the Qatar Airways company between the Qatari capital, Doha, and the New Zealand city of Auckland, which lasts 17 hours and 40 minutes.
For its future record flight, Singapore Airlines will use an Airbus A350-900 Ultra Long Range with a large radius of action, which will be configured to carry 161 passengers, 67 in preferential class and 94 in premium tourist, according to the company.
