La aerolínea low cost Norwegian Air Argentina solicitó autorización para volar a Estados Unidos

La low cost Norwegian Air Argentina solicitó autorización a la Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) Argentina para iniciar vuelos a Estados Unidos, en concordancia con el reciente acuerdo bilateral Argentina-Estados Unidos. Acuerdo bilateral

A fines de Junio 2019, el Ministro de Transporte, Guillermo Dietrich, firmó en Washington un acuerdo con su par de ese país, Elaine Chao, por el cual se eliminaron los topes para las frecuencias de vuelos entre los dos países y se habilitó la posibilidad de que las aerolíneas de ambos países hagan acuerdos de «joint venture» para intercambiar no sólo código compartido de pasajeros, sino también para participar con ganancias (comisiones) en la venta de tramos internos del otro país. El acuerdo había sido reclamado por la conducción de Aerolíneas Argentinas, que está negociando precisamente una alianza comercial de ese tipo con la aerolínea estadounidense Delta Air Lines.

Según la ANAC, antes de ser autorizada a volar a EEUU, Norwegian Air Argentina «debe acreditar ante las autoridades su radicación y operación en la Argentina, enviar la información societaria correspondiente y presentar su designación por la Autoridad Argentina. Además debe acreditar si ya tiene relación o actividad con empresas de su mismo holding u otras que operen en los Estados Unidos».

Según el Código Aeronáutico, las aerolíneas que operan frecuencias hacia otros países que pertenecen a la Argentina deben hacerlo con tripulaciones (pilotos y personal de a bordo) locales. En esa condición se desempeñan actualmente tanto los vuelos a Estados Unidos de Aerolíneas (que vuela a Miami, Nueva York y próximamente a Orlando) como de LATAM Argentina, entre Ezeiza y Miami.

Conflicto gremial

Tanto el acuerdo bilateral firmado con Estados Unidos, como la ruta estadounidense de Latam Argentina fueron el disparador de uno de los principales hechos políticos de este fin de semana largo: el viernes el sindicato de Pilotos (APLA) encabezó un paro encubierto tanto en repudio al acuerdo bilateral como al pedido de Latam Airlines de empezar a utilizar para esa ruta a Miami aviones matriculados en Chile, aunque con tripulación argentina.
