Strike in Andes Líneas Aéreas

Andes Líneas Aéreas carried out a strike on Friday

The Association of Airline Pilots (APLA) had reported that from six o’clock in the morning of this Friday, the pilots of Andes Líneas Aéreas would begin a strike before the incomplete payment of the salaries for the month of November. The measure was carried out between 06:00 and 09:30 in the morning of this Friday.

APLA spokesman Nicolás Capella said: «As the company did not come and there was no call from the Ministry of Labor, the measure will continue until they give an explanation, they did not pay the full salary in the Andes. Only 15% Pilots are aware of the difficulties the company is facing and in this sense we put our best effort every day so that the company can move forward, however, nothing, absolutely nothing, can justify that the executives of Andes do not comply with our basic rights as workers». Before the proximity with the weekend, they apologized to the passengers. «From now on, we ask users to understand our fair claims, apologizing for the inconvenience that these measures could cause».

Restructuring in Andes

The rapid restructuring of the northern airline with the return of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft that had been incorporated through a leasing contract, Andes Líneas Aéreas had developed a very profitable business niche, charter flights abroad, with which I had a lot of work in the summer for the routes to Brazil and the Caribbean. In total, he returned four of those aircraft, which represented a monthly payment of more than US$ 200,000 per unit, only for rent. At the same time, he initiated conversations with the staff offering voluntary retirement plans.

The current fleet of Andes Líneas Aéreas is made up of five Boeing MD-83 of 165 seats under its ownership are used for domestic and international charters. The airline continues to shrink. In 2016 the workforce was made up of 82 colleagues and currently there are 72 employees. Stewardesses and mechanics have been fired and in the pilots plane there were still no dismissals but some went for the voluntary retreats offered. A \ W

Union syndicates threaten new strike

The aeronautical unions of Argentina threaten a strike of 48 hours

Aerolíneas Argentinas has called the aeronautical unions on Monday to reach an agreement in the renegotiation of salary recomposition and other claims of both the guilds and the management of the airline, but negotiations stalled and have not prospered without the company could present a formal joint offer.

Aerolíneas Argentinas convened aeronautical unions to begin the negotiations of the parity 2018-2019 to unlock the hard union conflict and continue avoiding more losses for the days of strike. From the company they said: «The trade union leaders refused to even listen to the proposal of elaborated increases». The company’s proposal included the payment of a fixed amount and a percentage adjustment of wages, the opening of discussions on a labor organization that makes the company more competitive and the agreement on a mechanism for conflict resolution. Among its arguments, the company proposed to analyze one by one the 376 suspensions applied to employees from different areas who left work on November 8. On that date, more than 40,000 passengers were affected. Those sanctions were the axis of the claim of the unions, who continue asking for the total elimination of the same, without any individual review, considering that they have no legal basis.

The representatives of the guilds of pilots APA and UALA and those of ground personnel APTA, UPSA and APA, when withdrawing from the negotiation of the call, initiated a series of protests in Aeroparque without affecting the programming of the flights. The union force has requested a new meeting on Monday to determine a call for a strike for 48 hours.

From Aerolíneas have reported that if a new strike takes place, the programming of the flights would be affected. Company sources believe that the call for a strike and the measures of force do not respond to a salary question but are tacitly motivated by a rejection of the air-commercial policy of the Ministry of Transport.

Regarding the traffic of passengers transported, Aerolíneas Argentinas had a decrease in November 2018 of 12% in the number of passengers transported compared to last year and loss of market share and punctuality. A \ W

Strike on Latam Airlines

Union of Latam Airlines made a stop this Friday in demand for salary improvements

Latam Airlines, the largest airline in Latin America, started a legal strike at 00.00 local time this Friday. The Union Interempresa Nacional de Trabajadores de Latam Airlines (SINLATAM), has started a strike of 270 workers.

According to the Sindicato, it has been reported that the claim in the collective agreement signed with the airline is the improvement of wages and working conditions, such as mobilization and avoiding night shifts for women who are mothers. Latam Airlines reported that the mobilization will not produce «alterations of flight itinerary scheduled for this eventual strike».

The strike is the second major stoppage that Latam Airlines faces this year. Brasil suspende alianza Boeing-Embraer

Resultado de imagen para Boeing-Embraer

AW | 2018 12 07 08:57 | INDUSTRY

Justice Brazil suspends Boeing-Embraer alliance

AW-737195BE.jpgA Brazilian federal court agreed on Thursday to a court request to block the proposed union of aircraft manufacturers The Boeing Co. and Embraer SA.

Brazilian justice on Thursday ordered the immediate suspension of the alliance between the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing and Brazil’s Embraer, hoping that on January 1, 2019, it will assume the government of President-elect Jair Bolsonaro.

Boeing had planned to take control of Embraer’s civil activities under a Joint Venture agreement, a joint venture valued at US$ 4,750 million that will allow it to compete with the European Airbus in the segment of regional aircraft. The final agreement is subject to the approval of the Brazilian government, which since the privatization of Embraer in 1994 retains a golden share that gives it veto power.

Judge Victorio Giuzio Neto, of the Federal Civil Justice of Sao Paulo decided the immediate suspension of the agreement, pending the inauguration of the new President Jair Bolsonaro, on January 1, 2019, at the head of the Brazilian executive. This postponement is a study by the state of Brazil for the power of veto in the decisions of the Embraer company.

«Considering the proximity of the recess of the Judicial Power to which must be added the taking of command of the new President of the Republic (…) it is advisable to avoid that eventual concrete acts are carried out in this period creating a difficult situation to reverse», Judge Victorio Giuzio Neto of the Federal Civil Justice of Sao Paulo explains in his decision.

Joint Venture

The new commercial alliance would be 80% controlled by Boeing and will handle Embraer’s activities in the field of commercial and service aviation excluding the defense and executive aviation sector, the new partners reported in July. However, the final agreement was subject to the approval of the Brazilian government, which since the privatization of Embraer in 1994 retains a «golden share» that gives it veto power in strategic matters of the firm.

The request to suspend the operation was presented to the judiciary by federal deputies Paulo Pimenta and Carlos Zarantini, both of the leftist Workers’ Party (PT). With this measure, the judge says that it suspends «any concrete effect of the eventual decision of the board of Embraer, in relation to the segregation and transfer of the commercial part of Embraer to Boeing through the Joint Venture to be created».

The deal has stalled, in part because the Brazilian government, which has the power to veto important decisions in Embraer, has been reluctant to give it the green light. President Michel Temer said he would leave the decision to the next government, which will take office on January 1. The elected president, Jair Bolsonaro, has said he is in favor of the business. The expectation is that the association will conclude in a term of 12 to 18 months and that it will be counted from the beginning of 2020 in the capital of Boeing. A\W

AW | 2018 12 06 17:23 | AIRPORTS

Neighbors of the El Palomar International Airport area

Neighbors of El Palomar Airport, which was enabled a year ago will be mobilized tomorrow along with the aeronautical guilds to demand again the closure of the airport and in defense of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

The mobilization will depart at 18 from the El Palomar railway station to the Air Base of that town, where the company Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 set up the commercial airport, which has been operating the Flybondi company for a year, and from where it is expected to begin operate the Chilean airline JetSmart Airlines. It is not the first mobilization of the nucleated neighbors in the Stop Flybondi collective, but it will be unprecedented the presence of representatives of all the Parties* of Hurlingham, Morón, La Matanza, Tres de Febrero and San Martín that coexist with the airport. The protest will also have the support of the aeronautical guilds.

«El Palomar airport truce is the master key of unfair competition to empty Aerolineas Argentinas, and neighbors are the collateral damage to which the Government does not pay attention», summarized the lawyer of the collective Flybondi Stop, Lucas Marisi. Neighbors and lawyers filed an amparo in a timely manner before the Supreme Court of Argentina to suspend airport operations through an injunction for the violation of the Environment Law. Environmental studies have authorized the new airport for national and international operations. A \ W

PAWA Airlines would have diverted investments to a Spanish capital airline

The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) has gathered reports that PAWA Airlines diverted its investments to a Spanish line. The Dominican aeronautical authorities are authorized to intervene to claim from PAWA Airlines the fulfillment of the millionaire debt contracted with the State of the Dominican Republic.

Without revealing the name of the Spanish airline in question, Alejandro Herrera maintained that the country’s Public Ministry will seek to make the bankrupt airline comply with its obligations. In the middle of the investigation process that is followed to PAWA; the IDAC and the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) are preparing to request the extradition to the country from the Director of the airline, Simeón García. They argue that in principle a conciliation agreement was sought for Garcia to pay more than a million dollars, but he and the executives of the airline have not responded to that proposal. «Only the IDAC this company owes US $ 1 million for the airport fee, the airplanes are practically ‘shells’, with the exception of one that will be being recovered», Alejandro Herrera informed.
